Hiccup was sleeping on the floor when Astrid woke up after a nightmare of Hiccup forced to leave after losing the duel and cries.
She gets off the bed and pulls the furs off so she can lay down next to Hiccup and cover them both up.
Hiccup stirs to movement and sees blonde hair and whispers "Astrid?"
Astrid sniffles I had a nightmare of you losing the duel and forced to leave me again."
Hiccup opens his arms and says "come here."
Astrid slides closer to him and snuggle into his chest.
Hiccup kisses her lips "I'll beat Snotlout tomorrow."
Astrid whimpers a little.
Hiccup rubs her back while singing a song to her "hush, my viking warrior. I'll protect you throughout night. When you engage in battle, make them feel pain. My viking warrior that stole my heart and left me in awe.
When there's fire burning behind her, she stands tall looking so beautiful that I stare in frozen state of mind. Sleep, my viking warrior."
Astrid blushes at the ending in her sleep.
In the morning, Ingrid opens the door to her daughter's bedroom to see Astrid on the floor sleeping past sunrise and Hiccup gone..
She walks downstairs to the kitchen to see Hiccup making breakfast wearing his mask and ask "do I have to be concerned about Astrid's virtue?"
Hiccup turns around to see Ingrid since the warriors are leaving this morning to find the dragon nest against his words not to go and answers "no, Astrid just had a nightmare about me losing the duel against Snotlout."
Ingrid comments "try keeping it that way at least until you both agree to marry."
Hiccup nods his head.
Magnus comes downstairs to see Hiccup cooking breakfast.
Fern and Astrid came downstairs a little later to eat breakfast.
Ingrid smirks "daughter? Did you have a nice sleep?"
Astrid seductively says "I had a nice sleep wrapped in heat and singing to me. I think I'll enjoy laying next to him every night."
Hiccup choke on his orange juice.
Magnus ask "singing?"
Hiccup nervous comments "yeah, singing, right."
The remaining villagers that didn't go with the warriors walked to the arena to watch the duel between Snotlout and Ryder.
Gobber ask "are you you to ready?"
Snotlout scoffs "when I beat you, you have to leave forever and never return."
Ryder grins "and if I win, you have to stop bothering Astrid."
Snotlout charge at Ryder.
Ryder block his strike.
Snotlout kicks him in the shin.
Ryder grab his leg and flip him.
Snotlout rolls over to meet a sword at his throat.
Everyone gaped at Ryder beat Snotlout in two moves.
Snotlout kicks Ryder in his stomach to make him back away.
He gets up and swing his sword at him.
Ryder blocks and switches to offensive banging his sword down on top of Snotlout's sword until it breaks into two pieces.
While Snotlout gape in shock that his sword was destroyed, Ryder moved around him and held a dagger to Snotlout's neck and says "I win."
Gobber announced "winner! Ryder!"
