In the State Dining Room of the White House President Dick Richardson and Queen Victoria the Second have dinner together. While eating they discuss the matters at hand in private as they both sent their aids out of the room.

"President Richardson, I wish to restore Britain's rightful place in the sun, however, I realize I cannot achieve certain goals without coming into conflict with the USA. This is why I would like to invite America into the Commonwealth as an Equal Partner to Britain. Two Crowns, One Empire so to speak." The Queen told him plainly.

"What is it you gain from this?" President Richardson responded with a question.

"It allows us to bring order and stability to South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The USA gets Canada in accordance with the currently defunct Monroe Doctrine. However, that can quickly be changed."

"Surprised you don't want India."

"India was a Economic drain on the old Empire. Cylon might be worthwhile as a port to keep an eye on India. But anything outside maybe a few port cities would not be worth it."

"Anywhere else you might want?"

"Mostly old Islands. Easier to hold on to than large nations."

"I think I could get this done before the end of my Presidency. However I expect you to transfer what Islands you control in the Americas to the us."

"If I have no other choice. By the way, why are you stepping down?"

"America deserves a leader who hasn't been in power far longer than they should have, and now that the nation is whole again and on the path to recovery, I am no longer needed. Plus I knew not only Jefferson Peralez would run, but he would also win."

"Basically he was your hand picked successor?"

"Yes, but he's still his own man with his own ideas. All he has to do is take what I set up for him and run with it."

"Well, I can't wait to work with him then. Another thing I heard was you kept Net watch around? I am surprised with your anti corp policies."

"Net Watch quickly jumped aboard and sold out every corporation they had been working with. Most of their issues resulted from the fact they were dependent on money from other corporations. However with us absorbing them into the US Marshals as their official Cyber Division they cleaned up real quick. Their first task, ironically, was to bring down the net in the USA."

"Why did you do that if I may ask?"

"As you know during the crash the blackwall had to be put up to safeguard what remained of the net. The issue is this won't last forever. The only real solution is to destroy the net all together and start from scratch but dumb it down so that the crash could never happen again. That's why our bots use what we refer to as a 'Analog AI' very simple, just smart enough to fallow orders but too dumb to pass the Turing test."

"Something so simple that it's too primitive of a technology to connect to the net?"

"Exactly."

"Honestly that's a great safeguard, limits what you can do, but considering what you managed to achieve anyway it doesn't matter."

"Quick question: should this just be a military alliance or should we do an Economic Trade bloc also?"

"I was thinking something along the lines of open borders for anyone of Anglo-American heritage. Though we will keep the Pound, we will accept the Dollar as legal tender if you accept the Pound as legal tender."

"We could just link the value of the currencies together as we are backing our currency on Gold."

"Considering Britain could use the same sort of stability, restoring the Gold Standard would do us well."

"The Bill of Rights needs to be standardized across this Commonwealth that we are establishing."

"Considering the list of abuses just within the last 70 years of Britain's history alone I will have to agree."
