SpeedMaster642: Sorry, but that most likely won't happen.
Guest: When I feel like working on it. Be content with the thirty chapters it's got.
nazarenegodfrey11: No. He's just a regular human being who's just been trained to defend himself, that's all.
epic insanity666: Ah. Then no, Dead Island's got nothing to do with this.
Disclaimer: I do not own Highschool of the Dead. I only own the OC George Edwards.
George doesn't bother to listen to the news when the static changes to the inside of the news studio, already knowing that they're going to brush off the event for the moment. And he's proven right a minute later as Takashi brings his fist down on the desk in front of him.
"Is that all? Why didn't they tell us anything else?" He asks, anger obviously present in his voice as he asks the question.
"They're trying not to cause a panic," George told him.
"Wow, you're actually right," Takagi said half-heartedly.
"Fuck off, Saya." George said, leaning against a desk and crossed his arms.
"A panic?" asked Rei.
"Yeah, you idiot!" Saya said harshly, before pushing up her glasses. "First panic, then chaos. Chaos causes a disruption of order. And then, when order is disrupted…well you should just hand it all over to the walking corpses." George grabbed the remote where Saeko left it and started flipping channels.
"At 2:45, Eastern time, a biological pandemic has swept across North America," said a reporter from CNN as George stopped on that channel. "Government authorities have evacuated the White House and will be relocated to a command center aboard the aircraft carrier George Washington. There are also reports that the transfer of power is in preparation for the use of tactical warheads to combat the infection. All contact with Moscow has been lost. Beijing has been set ablaze. London has been able to maintain order, while in Paris and Rome, there are reports of looting and violence. The government officials have declared a state of martial law—"
The TV started to lose its signal and was cut to static. George sighed and turned off the television, turning to lean against the desk with his fists pressed into it, his thoughts clouded with the recent information. This outbreak wasn't happening just here... it was all over the world.
"So, they're everywhere." said Takashi.
"All over the world." George nodded.
"That's crazy," Kohta said. "Everything was normal when I checked the internet this morning."
"After seeing that, do you really believe that people would have the time to not only record what was going on around them, but also have the time to upload it to the internet before getting eaten, or turned?" George asks the other raven haired teen. Said teen raises a finger to answer, before he thinks about it.
"You're right…" He concedes with a defeated look at the thought of what happened to those who attempted to warn others via the media, making George nod.
"Unfortunately, this could have been happening since yesterday, and we would be none the wiser because no one would be able to warn anyone before they got taken out." George sighed, crossing his arms. "If this did start happening before today, the Government would've tried to neutralise it before the public found out... clearly they couldn't contain it. It's like that Shaun of the Dead movie. You see military and police in the background, little hints of a problem beginning and know it'll be connected to the zombies. So if you noticed an unusual sudden of military presence in the last couple of days, it's possible this growing infestation is what they were responding to... but now they can't keep it contained and out of public view."
"But… But the government will be able to stop it… I mean, they have to stop it, from spreading… Everything is going to go back to normal soon." Rei says to Takashi, apparently trying to assure herself of that fact. But George stands up before Takagi can speak, and walks over to the auburn haired teen.
"Rei." He starts, placing his hands on her shoulders. "I'm sorry… But that won't happen. This is a pandemic. I wouldn't be surprised if the cause of the zombies is because scientists messed around with something they shouldn't have, trying to create some biological weapon for warfare only it didn't go as they expected. Unless nuclear warheads are used without wiping us all out, I doubt this outbreak will end today."
When he tells her the truth in his soothing way, she looks at him for a moment, before turning to find Takashi looking at her sadly. That does it, as she buries her face into her ex-boyfriend's shoulder, and quietly sobs. George looks at Takashi and Rei with an apologetic look on his face, getting a small nod from Takashi, telling him that it's alright, and that at least he didn't just state the blunt truth and make it worse.
George feels a hand placed on his shoulder, and turns to find the beautiful Saeko Busujima standing there. She gives him her own nod, and he sighs in response, hating the fact that he had to be the one to tell Rei the truth.
"What's worse is that this is an epidemic, likely some strand of bacteria that's been evolving over centuries, before the government found it, and messed with it in some way… Heck, with the death tolls so far, I'd say it's similar to the Black Death from the 1800's. One third of the European population died there, but now, one third of the world population is dying because of this… And instead of too many people dying off to stop it…" George trails off, and Kohta picks up from his place standing by the window, looking out at the crowds of infected shambling around the courtyard.
"All the dead people move and start attacking people." He says, getting a nod from George in agreement.
"Meaning that the more people who die, the greater chance of the infection spreading… God, it's just like the movies…" George mutters, sitting back down in his chair and placing his head in his hands.
"Are you saying there's no reason for this outbreak to stop?" Saeko asked with her arms crossed.
"Not anytime soon... we might be living with this for a very long while or for the rest of our lives." George said, rubbing his forehead. "In the end, humanity will come out on top but with very few numbers and near extinction... or everyone will be a zombie as the years pass. I'm sorry everyone, but our normal lives have been utterly destroyed and thrown out the window." He stood and grabbed his axe, leaning it on his right shoulder. "But we shouldn't be worrying about that. We should concentrate on ourselves and our survival. From this point on, we'll need to team up. If we stick together, work together... we'll have a better chance at surviving."
All were at an agreement and got ready to escape the school and run to the bus. Rei grabbed her makeshift spear. Kohta readied his nailgun and Saya grabbed her bag while fixing her glasses. Shizuka grabbed her media bag and hugged it to her body. Saeko picked up her bokken. Takashi grabbed his bat. George stood ready with his fireaxe.
"The front is our only bet to make it to the buses," George told the group, before walking over to the door. He reached for the door handle, but stopped when he heard the sound of moaning. It was the Dead. Likely heard their commotion. He looked out and saw only three zombies, standing not too close to each other so it's possible to take them out quickly. He looked at his group. "We got trouble. Stay here, I'll take care of these three."
"How will you-" Saya was cut off from finishing as George sprung from the room and Rugby tackled one of the zombies into the floor, got to his feet and brought his foot down on it's head hard to crush it, then swung his axe and drove it into the eyes of a second zombie as the third came up behind him but he punched it in the face, causing it to stumble back then he delivered a Superkick to it's face, knocking it onto it's back while he grappled with the one he had his axe buried in it's face.
"Woah..." Kohta breathed with wide eyes as the group watched George take the zombies on without fear or worry. Everyone nodded in agreement as they watched him rip the axe from the second zombie and turn his attention to the third. Saeko was watching a little more intently than the others, especially when the zombie stumbled towards George only to be lifted up then slammed into the ground in seconds, before George smashed it's head in with his foot.
'That was so hot.' Saeko couldn't help but think as she grinned a little, her true self making a little appearance after watching the brutality.
George picked up his axe and looked at them. "Shall we get going?"
Those three zombies were the only ones that they've encountered. They continued down the hall with caution before stopping at a stairwell. They all looked down at the zombies that were roaming around in the courtyard. "Let me make something clear, there's no need to engage in a fight unless it's necessary," Saeko said to the group. "Do whatever you can to avoid a fight, you got it?"
"Remember, they're sensitive to sound, so keep it quiet," Saya told them. And they're strong enough to break through regular walls and doors. And when they've got a hold on you, they're gonna tear you to shreds, so be careful."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" There was a terrible scream from a female student. And it was near. The group took off in the direction it came from, hoping to get there before anything could happen and stop them from getting killed. It wasn't long before they got to the location, and George saw it was coming down another stairwell. He ran towards it and looked down the stairwell to see a group of five students being surrounded by a crowd of the Dead. Three boys, and two girls. The boys were trying to hold off the zombies were bats and poles, trying to protect the girl.
One of them was about to get attacked, only for Kohta to shoot it in the head.
The others leapt into action. Well, Saeko was the one that leapt. She jumped off the railing and landed onto the landing and brought her boken down onto the head of a zombie. George and Takashi ran down and stairs. Two zombies turned towards them. George jumped down the steps and planted his fireaxe down into the head of the dead student. Blood and brain matter splattered out of it, before the agent kicked the zombie away. As Takashi and Rei fought their own dead opponents, George turned towards the two zombies that were going after the students. He changed and killed one, before Saeko killed the other.
George sighed and turned towards the students. The survivors looked at him with wide eyes, seeing him covered in blood and brain matter. He looked like something out of a Friday the 13th movie. "Has any one of you been bitten?" he asked.
"What?" Asked one of the girls asked. "No! No one."
George held up an index finger to his lips. "They react to sounds," he said, before whipping off the blood and brains off his axe. "We're getting out of the school. If you want to live, come with us."
"O-Okay." Said the other girl.
"Get moving." George said, staying still as he urged everyone onwards, making sure there were no attacks from behind. Saeko took up the rear with him and they soon followed the group.
"You realize we're not gonna be able to take them with us. We can help them get out of the school, probably get them to the next area that's safe, but we won't be able to support this many. Maybe if only one or two of them separated from their own group." Saeko pointed out.
"I know... dammit, if only the world hadn't gone to hell, these decisions wouldn't have to be made." George sighed. Saeko places her hand on his shoulder, bringing his attention to her.
"Life would have been easier, yes. But the fact that you realize the outcome of your decisions, and have the heart to regret it in the end… It shows that you are still human." She tells him with a small smile, making George return it as he looks at her with gratitude.
'Damn it she's beautiful.' He thinks to himself. 'Why the hell did I never ask her out again? Oh yeah, she had enough people "confessing" to her.' He continues, before he realizes that Saeko was giggling. "What?" He asks her, making her eyes shine.
"Nothing, it's just that you've been staring at my face for a minute now. Am I that attractive?" She asks, purposefully placing one arm beneath her breasts to push them up, and using the hand of that arm holding the elbow of her other arm as she rests her head in her hand, a small smirk gracing her face. At that question, George's face gains a few shades of red, and he sputters to respond.
Saeko gives another giggle, before placing a hand on his chest. "Well if it makes you feel any better…" She trails off and leans in next to his ear. "You look quite handsome yourself." She whispers, before pulling away with a teasing smirk, and joining back up with the group with a noticeable sway to her hips as she walks over to them. As she does this, George's brain stops working, as he just watches her go with a gaping mouth and wide eyes, before he snaps his mouth closed as she looks over her shoulder to wink at him.
'It's official, I'm hallucinating… And if not, I'm in a dream that I don't want to wake up from'. He thinks to himself, before shaking himself out of his stupor. 'And if this is real and she's serious… Then I better get used to this quick unless I want to be left behind.' He thinks to himself, already knowing what was in store for him in the near future… And that was her working to get him to blush twenty-four seven. Meaning that he would have to work to get her to blush just as much, or at least play along with her to keep from blushing himself.
Shaking his head, he walks on to catch up with the group… While he attempts to avoid staring at Saeko's swaying hips, and flipping off Kohta for silently laughing at him.
With the group now bigger than before, the students and nurse quickly made their way down the stairs and reached the front doors. But when George went to turn around the corner leading to the area with the shoe-lockers he backed up immediately. There were a ton of Dead roaming and stumbling aimlessly around. More than what the group was going to be able to handle if they were going to get by quietly.
"Man, there's a bunch of them." muttered Takashi. Trying to not alert the Walkers.
"From what I can tell, the only thing they react to are sounds," Saya said. "They can't see us, so it's pointless to hide from them."
"Why don't you go down there and prove that theory?" Takashi suggested, which got her to shut her mouth. George may have disliked the girl's personality, but he would never question her smarts and had confidence in her theory.
"But even if we keep going through inside the school, once we get attacked, we're going to be stuck," Saeko said with her arms crossed.
"We have to go through the gate, we don't have any choice." Rei said.
"Someone needs to go and confirm Takagi's theory. Don't suppose you want to volunteer." Saeko looked at the pink-haired girl out of the corner of her eye. Everyone remained silent for a moment.
George looked at the horde and sighed. He held his axe in reverse grip before handing it to Takashi, getting everyone's attention "I'll do it."
Takashi said, "No, I'll do it."
"I think I should go ahead first," Saeko said.
"The longer we spend arguing, the more time we waste," George said. "You all stay back just in case."
"But why, George?" Takashi asked abruptly, making George stop when he started to walk. "You've done so much already."
"I put the safety of others before my own." George answered and made his way down the steps while everyone exchanged looks.
Despite how scared he was, he kept his breath steady as he walked into the horde, while his heart was pounding in his chest like a jackhammer. He then stopped in the middle of the area, and George remained still. Watching some of the Dead roam around him. Everyone else watched from the stairs, nervous for him.
Sweet rolled down his cheek, as a zombie approached him. As it opened its mouth to moan, the American teenager's nostrils were hit with the bad smell of its breath before he soundlessly sidestepped. George watched as it kept going. Even when its foot touched his toes, it didn't notice him. 'So, the bitch was right. They really can't see me.' George released a small sigh of relief and smiled a little.
He then looked down and saw a bloodstained shoe near his feet. George picked it up and threw it down the corridor. Making a loud bang that as it hit the wall. All the Dead turned towards the sound, and started walking towards it. Within a second, George was no longer surrounded by zombies and he walked over to the entrance doors of the school.
He pushed them both open and held them, before Saeko came and help. She held one open while he held the other. Takashi, who was holding George's fireaxe, and the others moved quickly but quietly out of the school, Takashi tossing George his axe along the way which the American caught. George watched them, before glancing at Saeko. She shared a nod with him.
Clang!
That was the sound of a metal pole being carried by the last student hitting against the banister of the staircase. It startled and frightened the group of survivors because the sound echoed all throughout the hallways and was even heard outside.
Everything froze, before the moaning of the Dead was heard throughout the air.
"RUN!" Takashi yelled, and the students and nurse did just that.
"Why did you have to go and shot?!" Saya yelled at Takashi as she stood by the doors. "We could've made it by just taking care of the ones that were close by if you hadn't said anything!"
A zombie was about to attack her, before Saeko knocked it in the head.
"The sound echoed anyway, so it wouldn't have done any good!" Rei said.
"Never mind that, just run!" George shouted as he swung his axe into a zombie. "Get to the bus! NOW!"
As they run towards the buses through the courtyard, Takashi, Saeko and George take the lead. They swap positions each time so that it's easier to take care of the zombies getting in their way. Rei follows behind them, taking care of any zombies that shamble towards the rest of the group after the first three pass them. Kohta follows after her, shooting down the last few that aren't already taken care of.
Unfortunately, on the way to the buses, they lose two members from the second group. One being taken by the zombies and the second willingly being turned to be with her boyfriend. When Takagi starts to yell at Shizuka when she claims to know why the girl did that, Kohta uses the time to save her from a zombie that was trying to turn her. This makes her turn her anger on him, and she ends up getting a surprise at his response.
"I don't know cause I really, like your voice." He admits, making Takagi's eyebrow twitch, and her cheeks to flush. Whether from embarrassment of having him like her voice, or embarrassment of him liking her, nobody knew. But, at this point, Saeko and George speak up.
"Nice to see you two getting along." The purplette says sarcastically, while George takes care of a zombie that was heading towards Ms. Shizuka.
"Yeah, when can we expect the wedding?" He asks over his shoulder with a smirk, before turning back to Ms. Shizuka. "Ms. Shizuka! We need to get out of here!" He exclaims, gesturing to the bus a few yards away. A few seconds later, Ms. Shizuka climbs in with a few others, while George, Takashi and Saeko make sure that none of the zombies can get on. Finally, Ms. Shizuka starts the bus, trying to figure out the controls, and the three climb on. As they do this, George looks out one of the windows and sees another group closing in. And it seems that Takashi saw them too.
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me." George mutters as he sees a teacher with the group. One he knew all too well. The man had a very thin frame and looked like a fragile man with black eyes and black hair what was almost shoulder length. He was wearing a black pinstripe suit with a white dress shirt inside it, along with a yellow tie. He also wears black-framed glasses.
"Who's that?!" He exclaims, Saeko being the one to answer.
"That's Mr. Shido, from class 3-A." She tells him, getting a gasp from Rei as George just glares at the man in question.
"We can go now!" Ms. Shizuka exclaims from the front seat, making Rei startle as George looks between Shizuka and Shido.
"Wait just a little bit longer!" Takashi replies, gaining the attention of the three people who were glaring at the teacher.
"They're in front of us! Any more and we won't be able to drive through here." Shizuka warns him.
"Run 'em down," Takashi said in a stern tone.
Saya, who was sitting with Kohta, sighed and said, "If Dr. Boobs tries to drive over that many, we'll flip the bus."
George knew this and was about to run out of the bus to help the remaining students and teacher get onto the bus. However, Rei grabbed him by his arm and stopped George. "We don't have to save him!" She shouted hotly.
Takashi, who was standing behind her, looked at his ex-girlfriend incredulous. "What do you mean we don't have to save him?"
Rei snapped around to glare at him. "We don't have to help him! We should just leave him here to die!" She shouted into his face.
George wanted to agree, as he hated Shido with a passion, but that didn't mean that he was going to leave the other students to die with him. He didn't like it, but if having Shido live meant that they lived, then so be it. After all, the man was decent enough to lead a group of survivors to safety, even stopping to direct the students to the bus.
But every little positive thought about the man was tarnished by what George saw next.
One of the students that were with Shido fell over and landed at the teacher's feet. George watched at Shido stood there while the student grabbed his leg. Begging him for help. The American honestly thought that he'd help him.
Not to George's shock the man raised his foot up and brought it down on the boy's face. Making blood come out of his mouth and nose, as his glasses broke.
"Fucker." George growled, about to rush out and help the student but it was too late as a pair of zombies had already gotten to the student and started devouring him.
Unfortunately, Shido makes it to the bus anyways, before anyone has a chance to close the door in his face. Takashi lets out a quiet growl at what he saw, before turning to look at Ms. Shizuka.
"Okay, go!" He exclaims.
"Right!" Ms. Shizuka replies. "Hang on!" She yells, before she presses on the accelerator, and they go swerving around the zombies that had been closing in on the bus.
"Head to the gate!" Takagi exclaims. Holding onto the seat in front of her and standing up a bit to see out the windshield.
"I know!" Ms. Shizuka replies. Unfortunately, the zombies that were near the gate had heard the bus, and were turning towards the sound. Ms. Shizuka seems to be having a hard time keeping the bus steady as she nears the crowd, until a hand is placed on her shoulder. She looks to the side a little so she can still keep an eye on the road, and sees George standing next to her.
"Ms. Shizuka… They aren't human anymore." He tells her in a quiet voice, getting a small nod in return, before the nurse turns to look out the windshield completely again, repeating what he said.
"They aren't human anymore… They aren't people anymore…" She adds, glaring a bit as she tightens her grip on the wheel. "They're not alive anymore!" She shouts as she presses down harder on the gas, before the bus hits the first row, and bodies are thrown into the air, and sail above the vehicle. Ms. Shizuka swerves between the shambling bodies so as not to hit too many at once and flip the bus, before they hit the gate. The force behind the bus smashes the gate open, and the bus successfully goes flying out onto the road, before continuing on into the now-destroyed world, sending up waves of Cherry blossoms in their wake.
But as George sinks into his chair next to Saeko, he can tell that it's only the beginning of the horrors and challenges that they're gonna need to face. As he relaxes, Takashi speaks up.
"I can't believe we did it." He mutters.
"Yeah." Kohta agrees, adding some tape to his nail gun so that it doesn't fall to pieces. Then, the voice that everyone in the primary group hates speaks up.
"Thank God we did." Shido says, before looking at Saeko and George, both of which are 17 and 18 respectively, and starts to speak to them. "I take it that one of you two has been selected leader?"
"There's no such thing. We just work together in order to live. That's all." Saeko said calmly. Her words caused a sly, almost sinister, look to appear on Shido's face... one that made George know that they shouldn't stay on the bus with this man.
"That won't do," said Shidou, smiling like a snake. "One needs leadership to survive. A leader to set the goals and protect the social order …"
"You're going to regret this," Rei said to Takashi. "I swear you'll regret saving him …"
"The city!" One of the students in the back of the bus shouted. George and everyone looked out the window on the left-hand side.
Just like he saw on the roof, it in chaos. As they drove on the road over the city, all on-board could see smoke rising from the buildings. With fire lighting the town. The bus drove down blood-splattered streets and saw some buildings that were outside of the city were in ruin or abandoned. It was honesty surprising to George that everything could get this bad in just half a day. It really did look like it as gone through a war.
"Shiiiiit," said a blonde student in the back of the bus, bringing everyone's attention to him. George looked at him and remembered that he was one of the assholes that picked on Kohta in school. "Like I said, it's only dangerous if we keep going! First of all, why do we have to go with Edwards and the others? You guys are the only ones who decided to go back to the city! Maybe we should've just looked for a safe place in the school. If you ask me, we were better off where we were!"
"We're going back into the city back to find their families," Jack fired back, not understanding how stupid this guy was. "The school's a death trap, not exactly a safe place to hide in."
"I kind of agree with Tsunoda." Another student piped up. "How do we even know if we can trust you? We should barricade ourselves—"
The bus suddenly came to a halt. The tires screeched against the road as George was almost about to hit the back of the chair in front of him, but he was able to bring his foot up and stop himself. Shizuka unbuckled herself, making her boobs jiggle, and leaned over to look at everyone. But this just left her large breasts hanging for everyone to see, and some gawked at. "Okay, you all, that's enough!" she exclaimed. "I can't focus on the driving with all this yelling!"
"Yeah, whatever," Tsunoda said.
"How about you tell me what you wanna do?" Saeko said.
Tsunoda turned to glare at her, which pissed George off a little. Tsunoda then pointed at finger at Takashi. "I just can't stand this guy!" He yelled. "I hate him!" Kohta gets ready to shoot his nail gun, only for Takagi to hold him back. At the same time, George readies his axe, but Saeko places a hand on his chest to stop him.
"Why? What the hell did I ever do to you? I don't even know you." Takashi responds.
"You know!" The teen exclaims, before rushing forwards with his fist pulled back to punch Takashi, only for Rei to step forwards and knock the wind out of him with the wooden part of her makeshift spear. The guy falls to the floor, clutching at his stomach and coughing up spit.
"Asshole." Rei comments, making George smirk slightly as he looks at the teen lying in the aisle. However, what happens next makes him angered once again. Slow clapping can be heard coming from the back of the bus, before Shido steps forwards and "congratulates" the two on their "teamwork", and how he was impressed by it.
"At any rate, a conflict like that only proves my point. We need a leader. We do." He says, before bending over to get to Takashi's and Rei's heights. "Surely neither of you want such a difficult responsibility on your shoulders." He says, holding out his hand for emphasis.
Saya adjusted her glasses has she scoffed. "So, you're going to run for the position, then?"
Shido looked to her and leaned down more, making her look away in discomfort. "I'm a teacher, Ms. Takagi," he said. Talking down to her like she was a child. "And, while mature, the rest of you are barely in your teens."
"He does know we're all at least seventeen, or eighteen, right?" George muttered to Saeko, whi simply shrugged.
"That alone makes it very clear who's more qualified to assume such a role! I have experience!" Shido said, not hearing George and Saeko's exchange as he gestured to the students with him. "Why, just moments ago I saved all of these brave students. What do you say guys?"
To the shock of those up front, everyone in the back starts clapping.
Shido gives a mock bow at this, before he turns around with his arms held out wide and faces the teens in the front. "There, it's been decided. The majority seems to have made the choice quite clear, yes?" He asks. And before George has a chance to tell him off about "the majority not mattering", Rei has suddenly flung open the doors of the bus, and jumped out.
"Rei!" Takashi exclaims from the doorway, making Rei turn to look at him.
"No way! I'm not doing it! I'm not staying here with him!" She exclaims in anger.
"Get back in the bus." Takashi says to her quietly so that only her and those in the front of the bus can hear him. However, Shido speaks up not a second later.
"Well, there's nothing I can do if you don't want to act in accordance with all of us." He says overdramatically, making Takashi turn to look at him in shock.
"What us?! What are you talking about?!" He questions, only to get no answer. When Shido doesn't say anything, Takashi jumps out and goes after Rei.
"Komuro!" Saya exclaims, but he ignores her and goes after Rei. George can see the two argue in front of the tunnel, before him and Saeko notice headlights heading in their direction.
"Okay, you need to punch it!" Saeko exclaims after a horn is sounded, making Shizuka tighten her grip on the wheel, and look in the direction of the headlights to see an out of control bus heading their way. Suddenly, it smashes into one of the crashed cars on the side of the road, and flips onto its side, still heading towards Takashi and Rei. Takashi tackles Rei into the tunnel when he sees it, just before the bus collides with the support structures on either side, and catches fire. As this happens, George runs out and looks through one of the cracks in the bus.
"Takashi! You alright in there?!" He calls out. Unfortunately, before he can get a response, flaming zombie start to come out of the bus, and Geprge gri[s his axe as he readies himself for a fight. However, before the infected can reach him, he hears Takashi's voice come from the other side of the overturned bus.
"At the police station!" He hears Takashi call out, and looks towards his voice to see his friend standing on the other side. "Meet up at the East Police station!" He calls out again.
"What time should we be there?!" He calls out, not wanting to arrive at separate times and miss each other.
"Seven-o-clock!" Takashi exclaims. "If not today, then tomorrow at the same time!" Takashi yells, just before more of the bus falls, and blocks Takashi from George's view.
"Damn it." He growls out as the flaming zombies get closer. However, the fire burns through their skin, muscles, and bone, and soon enough the bodies fall to the ground. Dead once again.
After this happens, Geprge rushes back to the bus. He climbs back on, making sure to close the door behind him, and then turns to face Shizuka. "Alright, we need to new route to the East Police station Ms. Shizuka. I don't think we're gonna be able to go this way anymore." He says, making Shizuka focus on the road once again.
"Okay. I'll turn around and find another way." Shizuka says, doing just that and heading off to find a separate route. As this happens, George hears an explosion go off, and turns to find that the bus had exploded.
'Come on guys, I know you can make it.' He thinks to himself, before letting off a sigh, and making his way back to his seat. He sinks into it, leaning his axe next to his legs, and relaxing after the stressful day. As he does so, he feels a hand on his shoulder, and turns to find that it's Saeko.
"Ah, Ms. Busujima. I would talk to you at the moment, but I'm afraid that I'm fairly tired and sore after today. Do you think that you could take watch? I may trust you guys, but I don't trust that bastard as far as I could throw him." He asks her as he gestures to Shido, getting a nod in response. "Thanks." He says, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.
"You're quite welcome." She replies, and just before he falls asleep, he swears that he could feel her kiss his cheek. "And my friends call me Saeko." She whispers in his ear, just before sleep claims him.
And that's it for this chapter folks.
