Chapter 8: Family Disputes

Monica poured her friends coffee as they sat down in the living room.

"This pie is really good mon!" Ajana complimented.

Monica nodded as she bit into the pie

" where did the kids go?" big Quil asked

" Bella and Quil Junior snuck out and Ayana followed them," Monica said in displeasure.

" you sound a little upset mon, what's wrong?" Ajana asked

Monica sighed and rubbed her temples.

"As you saw our niece is pregnant. "

" ok? What's the problem? Is it because she's not married? Plenty of women get pregnant out of wedlock, what's the problem?" ajana asked.

" it's not so much that she's pregnant. It's how she got pregnant. A few months back we received a call from Chester's brother Charlie. He asked if Bella could come live with us for her safety. Of course, we agreed, how could we not? But we never found out why she was coming to us. We knew she had been through something horrible but we didn't pry. It wasn't until Bella told us that she was pregnant that we found out why she was Here. She had gotten married and a few months later she found out she was pregnant. Her husband didn't want the child. So he drugged her and forced her to have an abortion. Two weeks later, her mother-in-law helps her escape and that's how Charlie sent her to us."

" the whole ordeal is traumatic! But Monica I don't understand your underlying anger. "

" before Bella came to us, she stopped at a clinic and got artificially inseminated! She just lost a child and instead of giving herself some recuperate, she got pregnant with no plan for her life! That's why I am upset. she just enrolled in college and now she's pregnant! She has no idea how hard it will be to be a single mother and go to school and find a career! She's only eighteen and has a whole life ahead of her! But she only making it harder on herself by being irresponsible!"

The room was quiet as Monica unleashed her rage.

Chester opened his mouth to speak but ajana shook her head.

" I think the real problem Monica is your anger that Bella is making some hard choices regarding having kids. Seeing her like this makes you angry because you and Chester couldn't have kids. But did you ever think that having Bella Herr and her baby is a blessing in disguise? You now get to mentor and help Bella as she journeys through this thing called life not to mention you get a great niece or nephew out of this. You have to look at your blessings. Did Bella ever divorce her husband ?"

" yes, the marriage was annulled a month after she got her. Her mother-in-law and Charlie have been advocating for her. But they warned us to be on the lookout. Her ex-husband isn't ready to let her go."

"What was his name? Do we know what he looks like? That way, we can be on the lookout if he were to ever come into the flower shop." Big Quil asked.

Monica noticed he looked a tad angry and concerned as he asked for information.

"What was his name, Chester? Edwin? Eddie? Edythe?"

" Edward Cullen is his name. She married into a rich family. The father was some kind of hotshot doc-"

Chester didn't get to finish because Big Quil dropped his pie shattering the plate as he stormed outside.

Bella couldn't help but laugh as Ayana mean-mugged her.

" what's so funny?" Ayana asked offended.

" you are little bit. You look like an angry puppy!" Bella laughed.

Ayana sneered and looked at Quil.

" big brother I don't like her! Can we go inside now? Why is she in your lap anyway!"

Quil gave his sister a serious look as he leaned towards her. His arms were still locked around Bella's waist.

" hey, Ayana. This is the second or third time you have been very mean to Bella. She's my friend and really important to me. If you're going to keep being mean to her, we are going to have some issues. "

Ayana stomped her foot and wobbled her lip as she looked at her big brother.

" but I don't want to share you! You just got here and she's gonna take you away! You are my big brother!" she argued

It was then a lightbulb came on for Quil and Bella.

Ayana was jealous.

Bella turned herself around so that she was facing the girl.

" Hey, Ayana. im not here to replace you. Quil will always be your big brother. But he's also my friend. He's like my superhero. "

Ayana's eyes widened.

" you think he's a superhero too?" she whispered

Bella chuckled.

" I do but sometimes I think his cape gets stuck on things."

Ayana was going to say something but Big Quil came stomping towards them eyes glowing yellow and teeth barred.

"ISABELLA MARIE SWAN! ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU WILLINGLY MARRIED A VAMPIRE!"

However, before Big Quil could get any closer. A wolf and eagle appeared jumping on him and pinning him down.

Ayana sighed and rolled her eyes.

" Welp looks like mom's gonna bite dad again."

" Mom?" Bella and Quil questioned

"Will you two get off me? I'm not going to hurt my only godkid!"

The eagle snapped and pecked big quil on his leg

"Ouch! Chester! Cool it down! I'm fine!"

"Chester?" Bella questioned aloud.

"Uncle Chester? He's a shape-shifter!"

And once again before anyone could say anything two gunshots were heard in the air.

Immediately, Quil pulled Bella and Ayana down to the ground, as his eyes scanned for the threat.

But there was no threat. Standing in the doorway of the backdoor was Charlie Swan and he looked pissed.
