Chapter 38

After getting outside of the gym, we find Hugh who says, "You got all of the Badges! You're really something! Usually, you'd go to the Pokémon League now, but... dealing with Team Plasma comes first!"

Marlon then arrives and says, "Sup yo! What's this Team Plasma you're talking about do?"

"You don't know?" Iris asks. "They made a big mess two years ago!"

Hugh says, "Team Plasma does things like steal my sister's... I mean people's Pokémon. They plan on conquering Unova by using Pokémon to freeze it solid! They're really evil! Haven't you heard about them, Marlon?"

"Nope! When the ocean's your home, you don't worry about things like that. 'Cause the ocean accepts all rivers! So you think Team Plasma's bad, then?" Marlon asks.

"Well, most of the members are bad..." I say.

"I get it. They're bad, so you fight 'em." Marlon says. "But, first, you got to say that in your own words. When you do, you'll understand better what you want to do and what you're hopin' for! Well then..."

After he leaves, Hugh says, "Man, I don't know if that guy is laid back or just irresponsible. That kinda got me down, but our opponent is Team Plasma! We have to focus! But, before that, we have to find where they are! OK! We'll split up! You check Route 22! Got it?"

After we leave, Hilbert says, "He really is strange..."

"I agree." I say. "But we can't focus on him right now. Let's go to Route 22." I say.

As we arrive at Route 22, we are searching for Team Plasma until I find a Hidden Grotto, but what shocks me is that inside the grotto is a Shiny Mienfoo.

"A Shiny Mienfoo! I'm going to capture it!" I say with excitement as I have Gothitelle battle it, and then we capture it in the end.

Mienfoo: The Martial Arts Pokemon: Fighting Type. In fights, they dominate with onslaughts of flowing, continuous attacks. With their sharp claws, they cut enemies.

"You really are good at finding Shiny Pokemon, Ash." Eve says.

"Yeah. And Mienfoo is one of the Pokemon that we haven't gotten yet." I say.

And as we continue, we find Terrakion in front of us. Terrakion says, "You're taking so long! I'm tired of waiting!" Terrakion says.

"Sorry, we have some business to do." I say. But then, when we can capture the Pokemon, Colress appears and he says, "The one radiating such a tremendous presence before you is none other than Terrakion!"

"Dr. Colress? What are you doing here?" I ask with surprise.

"It's been a long time. Terrakion is one of the three Pokémon who protected Pokémon from the flames of a human conflict! It seems likely that Terrakion has picked up the scent of danger that emanates from Team Plasma. It's probably seeking a Pokémon Trainer who has the strength to stand up to them. It's very interesting indeed that Terrakion appeared before you! That aside, do you plan to confront Team Plasma?"

Alice says, "Dr. Colress. We know that there are a lot of reasons why we don't want to. But we have to if it is for the safety of Unova."

"I see. If that's the case, you must have the power to protect your own Pokémon! Being protected by Pokémon alone doesn't make you a Trainer! It's because Trainers are strong, because they care about their Pokémon, that these Pokémon can also be strong!"

Just then, he gives us a machine known as the Colress Machine. We are surprised to take the machine, and he says, "This is a prototype of my device that energizes Pokémon! It doesn't work on battling Pokémon, but you may find it useful for something! Well then, I wish you and your Pokémon a safe journey!"

Before he leaves, he says, "Now that I think about it! In the Seaside Cave on Route 21, I saw something that reminded me of when we met on Route 4."

Then we capture the Terrakion and continue moving.

Terrakion: The Cavern Pokemon: Rock and Fighting Type. Its charge is strong enough to break through a giant castle wall in one blow. This Pokémon is spoken of in legends.

After he leaves, I say, "Seaside Cavvern on Route 21... maybe we should go there first."

"You're right. I think he's giving us some hints to fight Team Plasma." Eve says as we all head there. And now that we continue moving, we also evolve our Mienfoo into Mienshao by training.

Mienshao: The Martial Arts Pokemon: Fighting Type. Evolve from Mienfoo at LV:50. It wields the fur on its arms like a whip. Its arm attacks come with such rapidity that they cannot even be seen.

After getting back to Route 21, we capture an Alomomola in the water, which is very helpful since we need to heal some of our Pokemon.

Alomomola: The Caring Pokemon: Water Type. Floating in the open sea is how they live. When they find a wounded Pokémon, they embrace it and bring it to shore.

After surfing our way through, we arrive at the Seaside Cave. When we are inside, we have been trying to find the exit. Hilbert asks, "What does Dr. Colress mean by something reminded when we met on Route 4?"

I say, "When we are at Route 4, we meet Dr. Colress, who use the machine to control the Crustle so that they can leave... I wonder..."

When I activate the machine, we find a Crustle moving away from the exit. "I see... that explains a lot." Cilan says.

When we head outside, we can't believe it, the Plasma Frigate is now in front of us. Hugh also arrives and he says, "You found them! I knew you could do it! But... How do we get in?"

He's right about it. Without the stairs we can't get on top of the ship. It is then Marlon comes to the rescue? "Hold up!"

He is on top of the ship and he activates the stairs, then he walks down and says, "Eh, this should do it!"

"I thought you weren't going to fight Team Plasma?" I ask.

"Hey, friends! Team Plasma's not botherin' me. They could be up to no good for reals, and... It's not my style to go around decidin' Team Plasma's bad without thinkin' 'bout it just 'cause everyone says so! But, eh, you're havin' trouble, so I've got to help out! That's what I want to do!"

"Thanks..." Hugh says.

"Listen, 'K. Believe in somethin'! Searchin' for stolen Pokémon is fine! Keepin' Unova from bein' iced over's fine too! It's all good. But think 'bout why you're doin' that. The strength of your beliefs is what gives you and your Pokémon power! I made some noise, so some people came out! Hey, be careful, 'K!"

After he leaves, Hugh says, "What was that?! The guy sure doesn't follow through! Well, I guess he was being kind in his own way... All right, I'm going in!"

We find the grunts come out of the ship seeing what's going on, and we have to battle our way through them. "You must be friends of Smiley Swimsuit, that guy who lowered the gangplank! Aaargh! You even got the roadblock Crustle out of the way!"

"So what if we do?" Then we fight our way through, and while we're doing it our Larvesta evolves into a Volcarona after battling some of the people there.

Volcarona: The Sun Pokemon: Bug and Fire Type. Evolve from Larvesta at LV:59. When volcanic ash darkened the atmosphere, it is said that Volcarona's fire provided a replacement for the sun.

The grunts are running away after the defeat, and Hugh says, "OK! This time we'll check out the ship! When we were in Driftveil City, Zinzolin came from this direction!"

Hilbert says, "This place sure is different from the castle at Vetress City..."

"I know... this seems to be their new base." Hilda says.

I say, "I don't know about this ship if you want to ask me, so we should navigate our way through."

We find Hugh standing at the doorway as he says, "This is the place... OK! I'm going!"

And when we enter, we find more grunts who want our identities. "Just to let you know... You're about to feel my rage!"

After beating more grunts, they gasp, "Ugh! We have to tell the others." "Oh no! We have to protect the switches!"

After they leave, Hugh says, "They didn't have Purrloin with them! Barriers, huh..."

Cilan says, "The Team Plasma member was saying... Oh, I got it. We should press the switches to deactivate the barriers!"

"Yeah. And there's a device where you enter a password here... That means... We either have to find the password, or get it out of Team Plasma, to deactivate the barriers. I think we should split up and find that password!"

Now we decide to find the Password and the Card Key. We decide to enter the basement and find some grunts stopping us. "Again?"

"Wait, no need to be suspicious!" Much to our surprise, the grunt turns out to be an ex-Team Plasma grunt in disguise.

"What I am now is a spy, to guard against anything bad they might cook up." He says.

"It must be a hard job, keeping an eye on your former allies. Say, you don't know anything about a Purrloin stolen in Aspertia, do you?" Hugh asks.

"S-sorry, but I don't know anything about that..."

"That's what I figured. I wouldn't expect someone from a group bent on world domination to be all that quick on the uptake." Then Hugh rushes away. I say, "You did a great job."

"Thank you, Lord N- I mean, Ash. But I honestly wanted to save Pokemon..."

Then we find the grunts and we try to get the passwords out of them. When we battle the grunts in the first dorm room, we only know that one grunt's favorite number is 0. As for the second dorm room, the grunts aren't bothering to battle us so they let us heal in the room.

There is a nice guy that we find who tells us that we need the Plasma Card to enter the password, so we also need to find that. In the third dorm room, we find that the hint is that the password is a four-number numeric code with the second number being 9 and the last number being 9.

As for the east, we hear the announcement of intruders, and we arrive at the dining room, and we learn that three of the four digits are the same number, and we also battle the grunts to get the Plasma Card. All that's left is to put in the cord, which is actually 9909. And because of it, we manage to get into the teleportation pad to Zinzolin.

I'll end the chapter right here, you can see that the battle with Team Plasma has finally begun. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be battling against Zinzolin and someone else.
