Bonus story:
"The Morph Edict"
The supernatural Imp appeared in the abandoned Yukaza complex. Anyone who hadn't fled after its facilitator died, were either captured by a swarm of police that entered the place after Light Yagami informed them where it was, or was killed by the notorious serial killed Kira.
Of course, Morph knew who Kira was, but it was fun to think Yagami was powerless to prevent Morph from, if he choose to, informing the world the real identity of Kira. However, what would that serve? And he still wanted to play with the would-be Emperor in the future.
With a ball of light in his hand illuminating his way, Morph entered a small room, someone's quarters, now haplessly abandoned. But he did see a mouse scurry across the floor in a helpless attempt to avoid detection. Morph snapped his fingers, and the rodent was set ablaze and then turned to ash, all in less than a second. As a Nomad, he hated them. There was just something about the things that he detested. Or, maybe they reminded him of Shinigami - both equally detestable things!
The boy named Aiden was dead in the bathtub in the on-suite bathroom. He had used the boy to rawl up the troops, so to speak, after he murdered the leader of the Dragon Sect, Terrance Claw. He wanted to see who would find Light Yagami first and he was not disappointed - when he saw the large brute enforcer, who was built like a wrestler, with the alias Nazareth, come face-to-face, and battle Yagami in a death match.
Telling him that Light Yagami had killed his Master, Morph offered Nazareth a deal. The details were laid out and Nazareth quickly agreed, and hence they formed a contract. Little did the fool know, it would be short lived.
The boy named Aiden, which had not been his real man, was bathed in blood. After Morph used him, he killed the boy. The boy was useless to him, even as a host. Not even Aiden knew that he was dying, from a recently transmitted disease. It was only in its early stages, but the minute it was learned he had it, he would have been discarded and thrown away like trash. So, Morph did him a favour by ending his life earlier, the remaining of his life energy used as food for Morph.
Turning away, and back to the sleeping area with its near empty room except for a few trinkets, and twin bed, a book stood on a stand once lit by a lamp. Morph picked it up. It was the story of Peter Pan, the boy who would not grow up. This must have belonged to that other boy Riki, he went by. And with the diminutive disease he had, only able to grow a certain height, it stood to reason he shared similar traits with Peter Pan, forever looking like a boy.
His most recent encounter with Yagami and his sentimentality towards the boy sickened him. Yagami was supposed to bring about an upheaval to the Human World by using the Death Note. Morph had changed its trajectory of the dropped notebook for a reason. But now, his plan to cultivate Yagami for his own purposes would have to be altered.
He would have to bring Yagami's true nature out with other means, his inner-strength, willfulness, and determination, to give birth to a power Morph could suckle on for eons to come.
He felt his belly, a rumbling started. The Shinigami/Brigade of Life war had cost him dearly, and now he was responsible for sustaining its eventual rebirth. But he needed an all-power energy to do so. And Yagami was the one to help provide it.
He was only one of a handful left of his race, and he needed to keep them safe - in himself - to one day resurrect his people. Playful as he was, it was would take cunning and his own sharpness to do it, and a great source of energy. One that was pure, and not necessarily good.
Morph dropped the Peter Pan book to the floor like discarded filth, and then took out the Life Note from the pouch on his left hip, and ruffled through its pages. He had formed quite a few contacts throughout the years with people as far back as Ancient Sumeria, Greece, Rome, China, the Middle East, Japan, to the modern era. He enjoyed the different cultures, but eventually they all fell to their own greed and lust for power.
He wanted to make a deal with Yagami, because Yagami's "soul" would then be his for the taking, and that insufferable Shinigami, Ryuk, would lose out. Morph would suck Yagami dry and then leave his body a dry husk. But Yagami was too smart and refused.
Perhaps a little more cultivation is needed, he wondered.
Morph needed hosts to feed on, and it was edict to find the best flavoured ones. He would tell whom he formed a contract with all he took was a minimal amount. In reality, once they made a contract with him, they were as good as dead.
With a clenched fist, he snuffed out the light, and without any more need to be here, and he wondered why he had come back in the first place, he vanished to search his next host, or rather, victim.
