Structured Chaos
Chapter 4
For days now. Lucas has seen glimpses of his wife whenever they were home together after work or once they had come back from being out with friends or family.
"What are you up too Mrs. Scott?" Lucas asked with a smile as he went into the hallway.
Brooke smiled up at him. "I've been busy. Come see." She insisted.
Lucas entered the room and closed the door behind himself.
"Wow you really transformed everything." Lucas said.
"The nurseru has to be perfect. Neutral colors. Warm. Inviting."
"I want the baby to feel safe and loved the minute they are brought home." Brooke explained.
"You don't like it?" Brooke asked.
Lucas sighed deeply as he stared around again.
White. Orange. Yellow. Green. The crib. Dresser. Changing table.
Stuffed animals. Toys.
A bookcase. And various other things he didn't know about.
"It's alot. You created a fantasy. I mean a safe haven."
"Any baby would love this room. I just think."
"We should hold off on anything else until we go to the doctor and we know how far along you are." Lucas replied.
"I know everything is going to be okay."
"I've been having all these symptoms. I booked an early appointment."
"I'm just excited. I'm having a baby with the love of my life."
"This all i've wanted for years now."
"I've spent days just dreaming about what he or she will look like."
"Their personality. Just all of it." Brooke admitted.
Lucas realized then there was alot of hopes and dreams built up for this child already and who was he to taint this experience for the woman he loved.
He dealt in reality Cold. Harsh and raw. He had always been that way.

Hours Later
In the morning
After a drive to her OB office. Brooke laid there on the exam table.
Clutching Lucas's arm as they waited for the doctor to come in with the ultrasound machine.
Soon all eyes were on the monitor as her doctor spoke and explained what she was seeing.
"The test was right. You are pregnant and you brought forward that you've been having symptoms."
"It's early on in the pregnancy. 7 weeks to be exact."
"All the symptoms you're experiencing are normal."
"But i want you to come in if these happen right away."
"Excessive bleeding and one-sided cramps."
"That means something is wrong. But other then that. We'll have check ins when needed. I'll get you a prescription for Pre natal vitamins." She explained.
