Ricky and the NFC West

Part 7: Future plans

Freefall was not expecting the question, a bit of shock on his face. Ricky saw this and realized he might need to explain a bit more.

Ricky: Just, we really want to help not just with fighting. A-And hearing how you helped out you friends, the teams, and the league as well as the others with their passions I-I realized maybe we should expand ourselves you know.

Freefall was silent, but he slowly smiled nodding.

Freefall: Well, I can teach you kids the basics. Got the certification to give out first aid courses. I'm happy to hear your want expand you and your friends horizons. It's important to have a game-plan after you retire from football. Though I'll admit, the idea and inspiration for this DID come from a, unexpected source.

Ricky chuckled nervously, agree that his revelation did come from the fact a Rusher was in danger.

Freefall: Speaking of him, I gotta see how he's doing. Want to come.

Ricky nodded as they began to walk when-

Ricky: *smiles* I can see why your part of leading the Rusherz.

Freefall stopped turning to the Guardian.

Ricky: You got a big heart, and your always ready to help the others out. You got a cool and calm persona during emergencies especially the medical ones, and your right; that vastly large knowledge has been a huge help to you guys. I can see why the dean at the time wanted you to come to Georgetown University as a student. Your smart, a fast thinker, and really compassionate. Your really a inspiration you know.

Freefall felt something wet on his face, he touched it-he was crying. He wiped his eyes sniffing with a smile.

Freefall: T-Thank you s-so much Ricky. I-Hearing this-Thank you.

Ricky smiled as he and Freefall left the room.

.

.

Rampage's ear flinched, as he slowly got up. He yawned as he looked around, seeing the door opened and Freefall and Ricky walked in.

Freefall: Heh, right on cue. Good Morning Rampage, how are you feeling?

Rampage smiled as he stretched.

Rampage: Not cramped next to a pipe. I'm not hot anymore too.

Freefall smiled as he went over, checking over the Ram Rusher as Ricky sat down.

Ricky: Hi Rampage, your looking better too.

Rampage: *to Ricky* Hi Ricky, and thanks for the visual check up. I basically was out like a light when I hit the bed.

Ricky: Same here. I'm happy your feeling better.

Freefall: *Smiles; stops* And your getting better. Few more days of rest and you should be good to go.

Rampage smiled at this nodding, then became nervous.

Rampage: *nervous* So-how did the team take it-?

Freefall: TICKED.

The fact Freefall responded so fast and in a tone that could sent shivers down his spine, Ricky could tell he still sounded angry.

Freefall: They made it quite clear if the city does not reach a resolution by the end of the 2014 season, it's over. Your coach and owner nearly made to call to tear down the stadium in bare hands when they heard what happened to you, but both of them and the others have calmed down.

Rampage sighed in relief hearing that someone stopped his team's anger.

Ricky: By the sounds of this situation, it's gonna get ugly. REALLY UGLY. No matter what happens things are gonna get crazy, so-just be-careful Rampage.

Rampage smiled nodding at Ricky.

Rampage: Will try, thanks you two. Do you know where Peck and Pick-Ax are? I want to thank them for yesterday.

Freefall: *Smiles* Peck's repairing your uniform and Pick-Ax been looking into the structure. I'll let them know you want to talk to them-

?: HELLO?

All three turned seeing the other Guardians in the doorway.

Marty: Yep, just where RZ said you might be now.

Ish: Was wondering where you were since you were not in the first-aid room, then we thought of here.

Ricky smiled as he went over.

Ricky: Yeah, Rampage woke up and is doing better.

All three smiled, Tua giving a small wave to the Ram Rusher who returned it.

Freefall: Hope you kids don't mind but-Ricky wanted me to help you kids.

Ricky gave a nervous chuckle as the others looked confused. It was then Rampage's NFL-comm buzzed as he turned it on.

Kurt Warner (on screen): -sighs- Thank goodness, you awake.

Rampage: *Smiles* Yeah, sorry for the scare there.

Kurt Warner (on screen): No no, it's not your fault that all that happened we're just happy your safe now.

With that Freefall urged the kids out to let Rampage talk to his old friend, a smile on his face.

.

.

Ish: That isn't a bad idea there.

Ash: It's a good idea to have some knowledge on it if and when the problem arises.

Ricky had told the others what he asked Freefall once they were outside in the living room, and all agreed on the idea. In fact they loved the idea of getting First aid training.

Ricky: Just after seeing him and the others from the NFC West work, I figured we should expand our skills in other places and not just with Football.

Freefall: Which is necessary. Carr made it clear that new players needed to go through collage/university before joining the NFL so they had plans after they retire-

Tua: Who?

Freefall stopped, the words he just said sinking in.

Marty: I think I know who-Joseph Carr, right?

Freefall turned fast, looking at the Guardians in awe.

Ricky: Oh yeah! He was the one who helped make the NFL what it is today. I remember he made an agreement with the teams, especially the Packers, to draft players who want to play in the league after they finish collage and university. He was a family man, wanted these guys to have a future after they retire.

..Freefall said nothing, just stared at the heroes. This got them worried.

Ash: Freefall, are you okay?

Troy: Did we say something wrong?

Freefall: *blinks* Huh? *Mind returns; realization* Oh no no! Just-surprised you know so much about Joe.

Ricky: Research. By your reaction, he sounds really important to you.

Ish: VERY IMPORTANT.

Freefall sighed, a sad and small smile forming on his face.

Freefall: Yeah. He was very close with us, was one of the first to have his name engraved in the Hall of Fame during it's conception. He was one of the people we suggested with the owners when we-when we started the Hall of Fame.

Freefall took a shaky breath, calming himself.

Freefall: Listen, can you kids-make sure your cautious with mentioning or talking about Joseph Carr around Lib. He and Carr were very close friends and his passing was-he did not take it well.

The Guardians nodded, silently agreeing with eachother to ask him what happened that fateful day another time.

Ish: We'll be careful Freefall.

Ricky: Promise.

Freefall smiled softly as he got up.

Freefall: Well, I'll let the others know of Rampage's recovering process. *Walks* Let me know a good day you kids want to start training.

Guardians: We will.

With that Freefall left the room.

Troy: I have to say Ricky, that is a good idea getting first aid training from Freefall. Who knows what could happen on the field.

Ricky: Well with all that happened yesterday with Rampage and hearing the others, it got me thinking. *leans back* I will admit I wanted to get a deep dive with my team's league like you guys but-I wasn't expecting having to break open a wall freeing a Rusher. *To Ish* How do you handle all this chaos?

Ish nervously chuckled rubbing his back.

Ish: I'm still getting use to it all to be honest. The year before you guys came I dealt with injuries galore, a battle in a construction site, and was hold up in the Hall of Fame for Thanksgiving-

Tua: Oh that's what happened. I was wondering what happened to you and your parents when the weird guy prowled out neighborhood.

Ricky: I think he was high-

Ish: HE WAS HIGH. ABSOLUTELY HIGH.

Ricky chuckled at that.

Ricky: Why do I get the feeling we're going to get lecture on all that.

They laughed at that, agreeing that lesson is indeed on the table.

.

.

Freefall smiled from behind the wall as he walked off.

Ricky, he was in the same boat as Ash; being trick by a powerful foe for something in return. He could see the Guardian has been working hard since then to prove himself...he mused. He still remember the meeting were Peck reveled he was involved in the attempt cue with Ricky and RZ against Wildcard and Dropkick. Yes he, Liberty and Stampede were horrified that Ricky would get involved in such a attempt, but he could see his determination to stop a foe even for a while.

?: Freefall?

Freefall looked up seeing Liberty and Stampede in the core room, checking the Megacores power level.

Liberty: You okay?

Freefall: *flustered* Y-yeah sorry, was lost in thought and must of wandered here. Sorry.

Stampede chuckled with Liberty as they went over.

Stampede: It's fine. I take it you were checking up on Rampage.

Freefall's flusterness vanished as he smiled with a nod.

Freefall: His recovery is going smoothly, he's up and resting in his room. *Blushes* I-I actually got a request from the Guardians.

Liberty and Stampede looked intrigued as Freefall continued.

Freefall: *blushes* Ricky asked me to teach him and the others first aid and the others agreed, he was-inspired by my reactions to yesterday's events.

Liberty: *smiles* Who wouldn't. Your very passionate about the medical field, and it has saved us alot.

Stampede: *smiles* It also helped us out during the major events like what happened in WWII or even the Blitz Melee for example.

Freefall smile grew and warm, tears forming as he wiped his eyes, all three sitting down.

Freefall: I just-I've seen so many pass on, I was so worried to loose any of you and-I don't think I can bare losing you all.

Liberty and Stampede hugged the Seahawk Rusher, who returned the hug. Freefall was so happy and grateful to have meet the Rusherz, to not be alone in the woods back on Cordalion, TO BE LOVED...

Freefall: I am so happy I met you guys.

Liberty: I'm happy we met you too, Freefall.

To Be continued...

Joseph Carr, put a pin on him cause his works and interactions with the Rusherz will be shown in the finale Division ;).
