Chapter 14
"Come home to me please. Luke we can work through this."
"I love you. I need you." Brooke said.
Lucas deleted the voicemail after listening to it. And turned off his cellphone.
If space is what his wife wanted. He would give her exactly that. He decided as he unpacked and made himself comfortable at his family cabin.
No one is this area knew him so he had the freedom to go where he wanted. This area was smaller then Tree Hill.

"I came by with breakfast. But from the looks of it."
"You have alot more going on then hunger."
"You texted me to come over and didn't give much more details."
"What's going on Brooke.?" Peyton asked.
"Lucas left me." Brooke said. Unable to process she was even saying these words.
Peyton stared back at her best friend. The expression on her face softened.
"I think he just needs time. And he'll be back. The two of you will figure it out." Peyton replied.
"I shouldn't of pushed him away and made it seem like he was too much. What if he doesn't come back.?" Brooke asked. The emotion in her voice thick.

Lucas hadn't told anyone he was leaving. So when the front door to the cabin opened. He was taken off guard by the sight of his mother.
"Mom please don't get involved." Lucas insisted.
"When i heard you left. And weren't in contact with Brooke or anyone else. I knew you ended up back here."
"When Keith died you pushed Brooke away. What brought this on.? I know the pregnancy has been difficult for the both of you but this isn't the way to handle it."
"This isn't you're business." Lucas replied.
"This concerns my son and the woman who's become my daughter."
"You're marriage and relationship to Brooke is too important for you to act like this. When things don't go you're way you act out on impulse."
"Just like Dan." Karen stated matter of fact.
Lucas's eyes went wide. "I am nothing like him." He replied.
"Deb told me that Dan admitted to her that i was the love of his life."
"He drove all night back to town on the night. He only made it to outside of my hospital room."
"Something about seeing Keith hold you. Set him off and he gave up. His hatred for Keith got worse after that."
" Pride. Jealously. Any like that. Will pull you away and keep you at a distance. At that point. I still loved him so if he would of showed up. Who knows."
"I'm saying all that to say. I didn't get to have a life with Keith."
"I lost that chance. The love of you're life is right there."
"Regrets and mistakes keep you at night. Time can't rewind"
"I'm heading back now." Karen said.

Brooke had ate her dinner for the baby's sake.
Not being in contact with Lucas like this. Made her worried. Stressed and on edge.
When she heard the front door open.
Her heart leaped to her throat. At the sight of her husband.
