Izuku's mother found out about Izuku's arm injuries and obviously questioned them. Izuku excused it as falling off his bed which shocked his mother. It didn't make a ton of sense but that didn't matter.

She could interrogate her son on the matter more after taking him to the energency room.

The two spent practically the whole day at the emergency room, waiting to get a splint and a wrist brace for Izuku, then getting the splint and wrist brace.

Izuku's mother looked at her son with genuine worry in her eyes as she knew he was lying from the start.

"Izuku I know you didn't get hurt that bad from falling from your bed! Even if you did land on your arm you wouldn't get hurt so bad it would break! There's obviously something you're hiding..."

She said, giving her son a somewhat uncharacteristically fierce glare, telling Izuku straight up not to lie again.

Izuku lied again but only half so.

"Okay... I was lying... You see... I have been training to get stronger for the hero exams at UA... And I figured I needed some fighting experience so I got into a fight... I didn't start it! But... I did get roughed up pretty badly..."

Izuku said, looking down at his feet.

"Son, if you wanted to learn how to fight, I could've enrolled you into a taekwando class!"

Inko replied, Izuku shot back with his own response.

"Fighting against other people with rules in place just isn't the same mom.. There is no referee in the real world. Everything is free in a fight, gouging people's eyes out, tearing their skin off, breaking their bones... If I want to truly get stronger I should be fighting a free for all fight. If that means breaking some bones at first then so be it! I'll get stronger!"

Izuku said with a forced but convincing smile.

"B-but still! Y-you could die. I support your dream of being a hero, but if it means breaking yourself down to dust just to become one, then what's going to happen when you actually become a hero?!"

Inko questioned with sincerity in her voice, tears forming at the corners of her eyes.

"I will get stronger... I have to get stronger..."

Izuku said, his smile falling from his face as he looked at his injured arms.

"If I don't become a hero in the future then why did I even train? Why did I study them for my whole life? Without heroes... I'm nothing!"

Izuku shouted, his voice briefly breaking as tears tried to come out but he resisted, gritting his teeth together.

"You're not nothing without heroes, son! You're smart, very much so. You're dedicated and committed! You're a fast thinker and you're good at figuring things out! With those skills you can be anything! I just- don't want you getting hurt is all..."

Inko replied, wiping away her tears.

"I'm fine mom... Like I said. I will get stronger. I still won that fight, believe it or not. I'm making more progress than ever and to just have it thwarted... It would be a big waste of time and potential. I can and will be a hero. Nothing can stop me..."

Izuku said with conviction in his voice.

The two sat dead silent in the car as they arrived back home. They got out without saying a word to each other, and just headed to each other's rooms to have some alone time so they could process their own emotions. They were both so different yet so similar.

Izuku truly loved and admired heroes more than anything and he would do anything to become one. Even if he was just a hero for one person... For one day... He'd be satisfied.

Simply put. He wanted to belong in a realm that wasn't made for him. A true anomaly.

Later that night, Izuku snuck out once more, driven to prove to his mother that he was strong enough. He was going to beat a villain only using his legs!

The teen wandered around the dark alleyways around the city, his mind and body constantly vigilant to villain activity.

A woman's muffled scream could be heard nearby. Izuku rushed towards the scene with haste and arrived. Two thugs were harassing an innocent lady, presumably a sexual battery case.

Izuku didn't hesitate for a second. His adrenaline powered body rushed in, ramming a flying knee into one thug's face, smashing it in on itself pretty much.

That thug was done for pretty much but the other was more aware. He had no idea who this green haired boy was but knew he was trouble. Though instead of fighting Izuku, the thug had a camera lense on his palm.

The thug created distance from himself and Izuku by using the lady as a shield before booking it out of the alleyway. He seemed to have snapped a picture of Izuku before doing so.

Izuku was confused as to why he did that but concluded that it didin't mean good for him.

The boy left the area, allowing the woman to leave as well, thanking Izuku along the way out.

Izuku didn't know what would happen but he anticipated an attack. Nothing came though. He waited for minutes, nothing came though.

Izuku was pretty unsatisfied with his victory. It was too easy for him, so he continued on, purging the evil plans of many low level villains that night.

Tired and bruised up from so many fights, Izuku arrived back home, crawling back into his window. Izuku looked around his room and noticed all kinds of graffiti. His door was smashed open and a lot of his All Might figures were missing.

Izuku's eyes widened in fear as he immediately figured out what happened. A breaking and entering.

"MOM!"

The boy shouted as loud as he could, nothing could be heard. He scowered his vandalized home, looking everywhere for her. He only had one place left to look. His mom's own room.

He looked inside and didn't see much immediately so he ventured further. He flicked some lights on, his body tense and his heart racing with fear. He couldn't keep his composure, more so when he found her.

She was covered in blood, pale from blood loss. Izuku tried feeling her pulse but nothing. She was dead. Izuku ran out of the room and dialed 911 as fast as possible.

"My mom! She's dead!"

Izuku repeated over and over. That's all he mentally processed so far so that's all he knew to say. His heart thumped out of his own chest like it was trying to leave his body. Breathing normally wasn't an option and he couldn't for the life of him stand still, trembling with fear.

One instance he was confident and filled with conviction, the next he was reduced to an absolute shell of his former self. A mere scared child who reminded himself of him when he was younger.

He thought he knew pain. He thought he was used to death but maybe it's because it wasn't people he knew and loved.

Emotions only continued to well up inside him as the call went on. Izuku managed to utter out his address before practically screaming bloody murder for help.

The operator stayed on call with him as cops and ambulances arrived, taking Inko's body. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Izuku sat on some stairs as he watched the nurses drag Inko's dead body onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. His body still shook, but as his thoughts came more into play, he began to consider why such a thing even happened.

He then remembered back with that thug with the camera quirk. He must have leaked Izuku's identity to someone and somehow, they found his location just like that and killed his mother and stole everything they could.

It was all his fault. If he just stayed in bed like a good kid this wouldn't have happened.

The cops accompanying Izuku grew worried as they looked at him, he muttered "im sorry" over and over again under his breath as tears flooded from his eyes.

The easiest word to describe the scene was tragedy. Like how a wild fire breaks out and burns down a nursing home, or how a meteor drops on a certain vicinity occupied by a family. It was a chain of events that lead to another, and kept going till it couldn't anymore. And where the chain stopped was here.

There was a reason for everything happening. So why did those thugs do it?! Why did they feel the need to kill the only person who actually supported him throughout his entire existence. Was it to prove dominance over Izuku? To show who is boss? Was it simply to show that they were right?

Was this God simply punishing Izuku for his crimes? He didn't know. All he knew was that this was his fault. He resulted in the death of another person. One that mattered dearly to him. All Might was right. A weak hero only hurts others and himself.

Izuku has been missing school for months after the incident. He lived in a homeless center for people in similar circumstances to him. He had therapy pretty much every day but nothing made him feel better.

He had wondered to himself why he didn't just take his own life at this point. He had nothing to lose. For real this time. Maybe it was the humans incredible resolve to live even after such extreme emotional anguish.

Perhaps his mind was trying to think up some sort of reason to live, but with nobody or nothing to live for, he was just existing. If it was true that being a hero would only hurt people around him, then maybe he should truly give up on being one.

It would save a lot more lives that way.

As Izuku continued to spiral into darkness, despite his therapy. He began to think more and more. It happens when you are alone supposedly.

"If being selfless isn't a way of living. Then I just gotta start doing things for my own gain... Be it money, power, or love... I'm tired of being hurt just cause I fight for other people. So why not fight for myself for once. I mean. What do I have to lose now? I have everything to gain..."

Izuku mumbled to himself as he sat alone at a table, eating a serving of lunch provided from the homeless center.

He had no idea what this thought implied. Or how he'd go about acquiring this said self gain. All he knew is that he wanted it... badly. He would do anything for it at this point even if it put people at risk...

The next day, there was no trace of Izuku.. He simply took his things and left. His first thought of acquiring this self gain is showing the people who murdered his mother who's boss... He was going to show them they fucked with the wrong guy just like they did to him all that time ago.

First things first. He needed weapons to end someone as fast as possible. Gun laws in Japan were a bit tight so that wasn't really an option. He decided to just steal from Chose's wide collection of swords and knives. This is where learning how to use these weapons comes in handy.

He stole all he could hold, that being a katana, which had a sheath and a strap to hold it conveniently over his shoulder. A large combat knife which he could holster onto his belt, alongside four throwing knives. It was impressive how much weapons Chose had.

Izuku exited the hide out like he was walking out of a grocery store. Of course he didn't leave without research though as he found out the thugs' identities and their connections to a small time gang.

They occupied over a certain territory, presumably the area he had encountered them at. He had no clue who or where the gang leader was though.

He walked into the same alleyway the encounter first took place in. Izuku could swear he could see blood droplets from when he rocked that one thugs face into oblivion.

Under his baklava he smirked. He remembered the satisfaction he got from landing that hit. He clutched the handle of one of his throwing knives in anticipation. Anyone who he recognized was going to either die or be seriously injured..

As he kept walking he pulled up to a dead end where a group of the thugs resided, including the one Izuku had beaten up. Izuku met eyes with all four of them. They were smoking next to a small bonfire, sitting on plastic crates. Though the second they saw Izuku they knew something was up.

Before any of the thugs could react, a throwing knife landed directly in between one's eyes, dropping him to the floor instantly. Another closed the distance, threatening Izuku with scythe like hands from his praying mantis quirk.

The murderer didn't budge, simply raising a bladed hand in the air. The next second the thugs arm was gone. Izuku slashed the thugs throat just to be sure he wouldn't be a problem.

The other two were frozen in fear as they just witnessed two members die just like that. Izuku killed a third one with another throwing knife, leaving the one Izuku had beaten last time alive.

Izuku pulled his baklava up to reveal his face, a calm and composed smile plastered on his face as he looked the thug dead in his eyes.

"Don't worry... I'll make your death quick if you answer my questions~ Either way I'll figure out the answers... I'm smart y'know... How many of you are there... And where is your leader?"

Izuku said, the boy's stare alone paired with the trauma of getting kneed to the point of disfigurement made him puke in fear.

The thug was met with a sharp pain in his thigh as he was stabbed. The thug dropped to the ground in pain, screaming.

"Shut it or I'll rip your tongue out."

Izuku threatened. That did the job.

"Tell me your numbers. And where your leader is... Now."

Izuku growled, his green eyes glowing with conviction. He was going to get his answer one way or another.

"Th-theres only like thirty of us! We're a small time gang who doesn't even stand a chance against the other gangs around us! Our leader likes to hide in the shadows like any good villain! I haven't met him myself... I dunno where he is I'm sorry! Just please let me go!"

Izuku sighed and slashed the thugs throat, putting his baklava back on, collecting his knives and simply leaving, searching more and more in hopes to find more information.

As he closed in on the area, getting deeper and deeper, he found himself encountering mere groups like the last one. They were all useless when it came to providing information.

Hours passed by and Izuku continued killing more and more thugs in the area. He had counted about twenty or so in total that he had killed.

Killing didn't really bother him. These were the same people who killed his mother, plus they were a means to an end, meant to send a message to everyone else that he was the strongest and meant business.

Izuku couldn't care less as to what he did or how he did it, as long as he got what he wanted and became the most powerful. If that meant a few lives had to be erased then so be it.

The boy had grown impatient as killing all of these thugs did nothing but physically wear Izuku down little by little. He could still go on but he wasn't at his peak. He wandered aimlessly around the alleyways, looking for any one or any thing that could lead him to the leader.

As Izuku began losing hope, seeing his rampage as overall pointless, a man appeared before him. He had a casual fit on, but stood firmly like he was trying to stop Izuku from going any further.

"I take it you're the prick who has been killing all of our members..."

The man said, Izuku reflexively grabbed onto the handle and sheath of his katana.

"I'm him. Yes. I take it you're not the leader but his attack dog... You're strong aren't you?"

Izuku replied, watching his opponent's every move in anticipation for an attack.

"Hah... Good eye. I'm not the same as that fodder you killed, I've been fighting my whole life to get to where I'm at now."

The man said, cracking his knuckles and neck.

"Imagine working your whole life just to serve under someone."

Izuku teased with a grin underneath his baklava. In a blink of an eye, Izuku was blitzed, a right punch squaring up to hit him in the face.

Izuku couldn't dodge so he blocked it using his sheath. The force of the speedy punch sent Izuku flying back a few feet. Izuku managed to recover in time to think a bit.

Was his quirk super speed? Perhaps, that would explain his ability to close the distance between them so fast. Then why isn't he moving now? If he had real super speed wouldn't his objective be to barrage and overwhelm Izuku till he couldn't fight?

"C'mon, are you going to just stand there and be all defensive the entire time? Come and show me the brutality you showed the other members."

The man taunted Izuku, gritting his teeth in anger and spite as to the boy's stubborness.

"I'm waiting for you. You're the one who picked a fight with me aren't you?"

Izuku shot back, preparing himself for a better defense, taking his sword out fully. The man did a direct charge like last time. He stopped as Izuku blocked, not falling for the same attack twice. He changed trajectory altogether and dashed to the right, and then behind Izuku.

Izuku tried reading his movements but could only do so just barely. His movements were very jagged and inconsistent.

He always moved in a straight foward line, never a curve. He seemed to stop before every turn like he was recovering from something.. But what?

Perhaps it was the inertia effect of moving so fast?

A punch had slammed right into Izuku's back, staggering him. His body jostled foward and he swung his blade backwards in an attempt to counter, his blade made its mark on the man's right shoulder.

They both jumped back, creating distance to recover. Izuku rubbed his back and noticed something. A slight pain that resembled that of electricity. It wasn't severe but the pain was recognizable.

Perhaps his quirk had to do with electricity? Then why was he so fast?

Izuku stared at his opponent who was breathing quite heavily from the exchange. Though judging by his physique it was unlikely that his tiredness wasn't from a natural exhaustion.

Izuku failed to hit any vital points so that wasn't the case either. What was making him breathe like that? Perhaps his quirk used electricity to stimulate his muscles to make him move fast and suddenly. And the electric pain from his punches was just electricity transferring to Izuku's body!

It's likely that he was tired from his muscles contracting. Perhaps his heart was also being affected? If this was the case then Izuku could simply make the man over use his quirk until either his muscles pulled or until he had a heart attack. That would be a good opportunity to finish him.

The man went in for another direct charge. Izuku dodged, not bothering to counter this time. Every time he changed direction Izuku went towards the attack but not making contact with the hits so that he'd be forced to turn around and keep charging in different directions. It only took a few seconds to wear the man out fully.

He took a knee and panted, his muscles cramping, and a hand placed on his chest where his heart was, clutching it in pain.

As he was stunned, Izuku took time to interrogate the man, asking him everything he knew about the leader and any other members he should be aware of.

He had finally gotten some somewhat useful information. He learned that the boss had a living quarters where most of his business took place. He got the exact location and was informed that since word had gotten out about the murder of most of the gang, the location was heavily guarded by stronger members.

Izuku thanked the man before putting him out of his misery, swiping his head clean off with his sword, cleaning the blood off to avoid rusting before putting it back in its sheath.

He arrived at the location, though he didn't make his presence known right away. He wanted to see what things were like. The man was right, the hideout was guarded to the teeth with members. They all had weapons ready and looked strong enough to be a problem for Izuku as a group.

Izuku decided to take a gamble though. He figured that if this was a truly small gang then there probably wasn't enough people spread out over the area to protect everything effectively. The members present looked strong, surely they were but was there enough to be dedicated to the top of the building? After all who would guess he'd enter that way or even be capable of such a feat?

He scaled his way up a separate building, then jumping across to his target building. As he guessed there was nobody. There was a door but it was locked shut. It was made of iron so prying it open would be a big hassle.

Izuku decided to take another risk, as he wiggled his lower body off the edge, using his core strength to deliver a powerful knee to a window, shattering it. He eased himself down, grabbing the edge of the window and crawling inside, surprisingly avoiding getting cut by the stray glass in the frame.

He was in the building now. Nobody in sight really. He had no clue where to find the leader, and he was certain some of the guards up front heard the glass and were on their way to check it out.

So it was a race to see who can find who first, would Izuku find the boss first? Or would the guards find Izuku first?

Izuku searched the hallways aimlessly. All doors were shut so there was no telling what was inside any of them. Well he figured all of them were closed. All but one.

He approached the door, looking inside carefully. It was the boss. He was a big and burly man with white hair and a well groomed white beard. He had a muscular and large body, despite his thick eyebrows making him look mad all the time, this time he seemed calm.

"I take it you're the boy who has come to take my life."

The man said, raising his hands as if he were surrendering.

"I had already called my men off as I heard the window smashed open. I accept my fate."

He then said with an almost light hearted chuckle. Izuku grabbed his sword, removing it from its sheath. He then removed his baklava, revealing his tired and worn out face, the only thing that drove the boy to move was his blood lust.

"You're the boy who I killed the mother of those months ago... I have a mind reading quirk. As long as I can see your eyes, even if it's through a photo graph, I can enter your perspective and look at your memories. I got a photo of you and looked for any way to prove dominance and power over you... The only thing I could take away was your possessions and your mother..."

The man rambled on, rolling his neck, stretching it.

"I'm letting you kill me cause I get it. I know your reason. It's cause me and you are similar. Finally a person I can relate with... Me and you... Just want everything for ourselves... Haha... I could have been a detective with my quirk. I could've been saving lives out there ya know..."

He just kept speaking, his voice becoming more shaky, like he was on the verge of tears.

"But no... I needed the satisfaction of being on top. I needed to be the leader of a group, not just someone's lap dog... I guess our reasoning is different... But you get the gist. Anyways, just kill me. You win."

He finished his monologue, looking up at Izuku. Tears fell from his eyes but they weren't of sadness, rather understanding. He was glad to have met and been killed by someone as power-hungry as him.

In one swift motion, the boss's head was cut clean off his shoulders. Izuku put his baklava back on and headed out, not fearing the guards whatsoever.

He exited the building, calm as ever. The guards were stiff in their tracks, unsure as to what they should do. Should they fight back? Or should they surrender?

"I won't kill you. I personally suggest getting outta this city. Or the area at least. Cause as long as I am around, things aren't going to be sunshine and rainbows."

Izuku said. The guards simply nodded in response, following his words and running off, hoping not to get caught in whatever mess he'd get himself into next time...
