Structured Chaos
Chapter 20
"These pictures we took are alot better then i expected."
"I'm glad you talked me into taking them." Brooke said.
"This time in our life. The pregnancy should be documented."
"Even if those pictures were taken only in this room."
"You look beautiful. You're glowing."
"We're going to meet our boys any day now." Lucas said.
Brooke put her hands on her belly. 38 weeks into her pregnancy now. She was officially 9 months pregnant.
"The babies are the size of a winter melon." Lucas said.
Brooke felt herself grip Lucas tightly.
"We need to go to the hospital now."
"The babies are coming." Brooke said.
Lucas leaned over. Kissing her softly.
"You're doing this. We're doing it. Together." Lucas reassured her.
...
Her tied up into a messy ponytail. Her body exposed full from the bottom down. Her hair and face sweat soaked.
The delivery room was covered in unisex colors.
Bright lights. And two small cots on the other side of the room.
Brooke pushed as hard as she could before taking a breath and leaning back.
Lucas fed her ice chips and tried to be as reassuring as he could.
As contractions tore through Brooke fast and hard.
They had been in this ongoing pattern for hours now.
"I can't do this. It's too much." Brooke insisted. Looking to her husband.
Lucas looked back at her. "You are stronger then i will ever be."
"You're ready and prepared for this. Just focus on what's waiting for us. The babies. They need you're help to come into the world."
"To bring into our life so much love and joy."
"I'm right here. I've never been more i love with you." Lucas stated matter of fact.
Brooke felt herself bare down harder then before.
Letting out a scream that was primal and strong.
Her body fell back as cries filled the delivery room.
"Two healthy boys are here." The doctor announced.
Lucas kissed her gently. Tears welling up in his eyes.
"You did it Brooke. Our sons. Our boys." Lucas said. Emotion thick in his voice.
Brooke burst into tears. Once she held both babies in her arms.
"Remember me. I'm you're momma. I love you both so much." Brooke said. The emotion in her voice thick.
As she locked eyes on her sons.
The infants starring back at her. With blue eyes. And dark hair.
...
