When King Endymion revealed to Kunzite and Zoisite their daughters lost one of their senses, the former generals could not do much now. Yet they promised to come home ASAP, even though the king assured them the twins were safe and sound. As every Senshi had a disability, Trisha felt it was time to enact their plan. Shadow phoned Ivy, but Nephrite picked up as Ivy could not hear, and he drove Ivy back to her team through Naru's many tears.
"Is it wrong I want his mansion and 1991 Ferrari?" Christen shouted, as she could speak when excited, and laughed as everyone crowded around the windows to gaze at Nephrite's car.
(Yes, I will assume Nephrite's car is a Ferrari, and 1991 is the year Sailor Moon started appearing in Nakayoshi magazine.) When Ivy settled down, the kittens raced in with news.
"We found one!" Diana chirped in happiness, Elizabeth by her side.
"One what?" Gracie asked.
"A picture of Roshi. It is only an interpretation by the artist, but it's the best we've got." Comet clarified.
Rose, in human form, handed the printed-out picture to Chibiusa. Quartz stood near her feet. Then, the redhead turned back into a kitten.
"You turned human for like five seconds for this?!" Rose's brother yelled incredulously.
"I felt it would be most appropriate to give Chibiusa the picture with a hand instead of my mouth." Rose seemed proud of herself for being proper despite her black-furred sibling's shouting.
"Normally, we would have had you girls come to the Command Center. However, with half of you unable to see or hear, it would be better if we came to you ourselves." Asteroid explained.
Everyone crowded around the Moon Princess to get a peek! This drawing depicted a medium-built, black man with six arms in an Indian headdress, yellow pants, and a skirt-like piece of clothing in the back with Chinese-like symbols. Also, he had shackles around two pairs of his wrists and ankles, though the chains were broken. Ariel caught the puzzled expression on Chibiusa's face.
Ariel wrote, "Usually, those are drawn to symbolize how strong someone's power is or how strong people believed that person to be." and slipped the note to the pink-haired girl.
Chibiusa passed the picture around with Holly, describing it to Gracie, Trisha, Jewel, and Dawn. Knowing what their enemy looked like was a small comfort, but the girls would take any comfort.
"I know, at times, we could all use an extra pair of hands, but this is ridiculous," Christen said slowly to be sure she was pronouncing the words correctly.
Gracie, Crystal, Alexis, Star, and Dawn laughed, although Crystal, Alexis, and Star had no sound come out. It was starting to feel like old times before the girls had disabilities.
"Diana, Elizabeth, what's wrong?" Comet noticed the extremely saddened expressions on her youngest sister's faces.
"I know we all take our jobs most seriously, big sister. Yet, being the youngest with three impaired girls each to attend to? We should have been able to safeguard them, yet we failed." Diana's pink eyes shimmered with tears.
Hastily, Quartz spoke up as if he knew exactly what to say, "You didn't fail. Failing is when you give up without trying. Are you going to quit on the girls now?"
"We don't WANT to quit, but-" Elizabeth began as Quartz spoke again.
"There are too many times to count when I wanted to quit, as I used to fend for Rose and myself if I couldn't easily find food or water. Yet, I knew I wouldn't stop; Rose was counting on me, and I couldn't bear to lose her as she was the most important kitten in the world to me. I will never give up on my family or friends, and you shouldn't either because I won't let you." Quartz finished dramatically.
Comet, Asteroid, and Rose were shocked, but relieved Quartz's story had stopped Diana and Elizabeth from crying because it made them understand they were still here and could care for the girls, no matter how bleak things may seem. Quartz may have a hard soul but a soft heart as he let Diana and Elizabeth nuzzle into his fur. Comet and Rose hugged him, and Asteroid put a proud paw on the smoky black kitten's shoulder. Quartz grimaced at Asteroid as a signal for help.
Asteroid laughed nervously, "Uh...Sisters, you might be making it difficult for Quartz to breathe."
"Sorry!" Suddenly, the female felines backed off with apologetic smiles.
"Not that I don't mind having a group of lovely ladies hugging me, but you don't have to suffocate me." Quartz joked, and the kittens and girls did laugh.
After breakfast being a harmonious occasion, the girls and kittens got ready to get their senses back! They trekked outside to a grassy hill and transformed! In their Super forms, they felt they were better prepared if they had to fight.
"Venus Pedant Power! Make-Up!" Gracie's body flashed yellow colors. Yellow sparkles formed her leotard, skirt with back bow, heels, and gloves! Her tiara, earrings, and hair bow dinged on her. Golden stars zoomed by, making her collar, front bow, and choker appear! "I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for Love and Beauty! I am Neo-Sailor Venus! In the continuing name of Venus, I will teach you to honor love and beauty!" As she leaps into the air, pink and yellow stars erupt on a gold background for a finish.
"Mercury Pendant Power! Make-Up!" Gracie yelled for Crystal. Crystal's body glowed with blue light as she zoomed down what looked like a tube of rushing water! Streams of water shot towards and combined around her body, and when it broke, she had her leotard with the front bow, skirt with back bow, boots, and, crossing her arms in front of her, formed her gloves! As she was raised into the air, a globe of water surrounded her, creating her earrings, tiara, and choker!
It popped as she landed. Gracie spoke again as Mercury posed, "I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for Love and Intelligence. I am Neo-Sailor Mercury. In the continuing name of Mercury, I will whittle away at my foe with water!" Though Gracie had to say this, Neo-Super Sailor Mercury was grinning broadly as her background was blue with dark blue bubbles floating around.
"Mars Pendant Power! Make-Up!" Christen's body glowed black but with a searing red outline, probably because she was eager for a fight with Roshi. Christen wheeled through the air as flames formed her leotard. Strings of fire began a gigantic sphere around her as her front bow, skirt with back bow, high heels, gloves, and choker appeared!
Bursts of red light created her tiara and earrings. "I am the Guardian, who fights with Fire and Passion. I am Neo-Sailor Mars! In the continuing name of Mars, I let fire flow freely!" Like the entitled princess she was, Christen's background was a gorgeous palace engulfed in flames!
"Thank Queen Serenity (God), that's only a background, and Phobos-Demios Castle isn't burning." Holly sighed.
"Jupiter Pendant Power! Make-Up!" Ariel's body glows bright green. Leafy vines slowly spin around her in a large sphere. They encircle her arms and legs, forming her gloves and high-heeled boots. Her leotard with front bow and skirt with back bow pop onto her. Her tiara and chocker manifest from thin, tiny vines that wrap around her forehead and neck. From a blooming flower, she plucked her earrings!
Lastly, a pink, live butterfly lands in her hair and turns into a decorative band to hold her hair in a ponytail! Her background is just shades and hues of green, pink, and yellow. Simple but stylish and fitting Trisha's taste for less flashy things! "I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for Love and Courage. I am Neo-Sailor Jupiter. In the continuing name of Jupiter, I summon the storms!"
"Uranus Pendant Power! Make-Up!" Holly's body became just an outline with the image of clouds floating by! Tubes of rainbow color encased her hands, feet, waist, and chest to form her uniform. Her choker clipped around her neck, and her earrings appeared with a ping. Her background is navy with a spotlight. "Invited by a new age, protected by Uranus, the planet of Wind. Guardian of the Heavens, I am Neo-Sailor Uranus. In the continuing name of Uranus, I will serve the justice of the sky!"
Since Alexis could not speak, Uranus spoke for her, "Neptune Pendant Power! Make-Up!" Alexis's body glowed aquamarine. Tiny, blue sparkling stars surrounded her, combining to form her leotard with a front bow, skirt with a back bow, shoes, and gloves. Touching her ears and neck made her earrings and chocker appear. Neptune's background is dark blue with light blue flowers! Uranus began to speak again as Neptune posed, "Protected by Neptune, the Outer Planet of the Seas, I am Neo-Sailor Neptune. In the continuing name of Neptune, I will make you see the sincerity of the sea!"
"Saturn Pendant Power! Make-Up!" It was so good to hear/see Emily speak again! Emily's body glowed purple. Her gloves, leotard, and skirt formed. Passing her hands across her face made her earrings and chocker appear. Her bows popped out. She grabbed her Silence Glaive from the air, swinging it around so it rested on her shoulders. Her background is pretty, with sparkling shades of purple. "I am an emissary from the Abyss of Death. I am Neo-Super Sailor Saturn, the Outer Planet of Destruction, protected by Saturn, the Guardian of Silence! In the continuing name of Saturn, I will choose to or not to end everything."
"Pluto Pendant Power! Make-Up!" Trisha transformed just as she did when she met Kousagi. "Hyperspatail Dome Of Silence!" Neo-Super Sailor Pluto yelled as she raised her staff with her right hand while holding Neo-Super Sailor Mercury's hand with her other.
Neo-Super Saturn touched the Garnet Rod with her Glaive. As they had hoped, a defensive dome-shaped barrier extended and surrounded the group, whisking them off to...hopefully...Roshi's realm! For those who could open their eyes, they found the group, including themselves, standing at the intersection of a cold, dead, misty, 4-way crossroad!
"Are we dead?" Neo-Super Sailor Mars asked, almost not pronouncing herself correctly.
Everyone gave her a look, but this was not a place any of them had ever seen before.
"Let's see..." Neo-Super Sailor Venus, holding one of Mars's hands, yanked her arm.
"Ow! What the hell-" Mars began.
"If you felt pain, no. We're not dead." Venus replied.
"Why I oughta-" Mars growled, her dark eyes burning, but she was cut off as Mercury covered her mouth and pointed.
Standing off to one side of the crossroads is Roshi on top of a pile of bones! Christen had researched this, and Ariel relayed to the others, 'These are human remains of people who, after losing one of their senses to Roshi's monkeys, gave up on life and suffered serving under Roshi, building the roads here until they die.' This did not improve the girl's opinion of Roshi. As for Roshi? He was surprised to see them but seemed amused by their appearance.
"GIVE ME BACK MY HEARING!" Mars broke from Mercury's hold and stormed up to Roshi.
Laughing, Roshi said, "I do not have your hearing."
For some reason, Mars could hear him but nothing else.
"WHO DOES?" Mars boomed.
"No one," Roshi answered cryptically.
"For a God, you are no help," Pluto said.
Roshi sighs. It seems like Pluto's comment got to him, "At the end of each of these paths is one of your senses. Defeat one of my Wise Monkeys per path, and you can claim your reward."
"How do we tell which path leads to which sense?" Venus asked.
"You cannot," Roshi replied.
"ENOUGH WITH THE RIDDLES!" Mars blew her top as blueish-white flames shot from her mouth!
"Mars, we'll figure this out!" Neo-Eternal Sailor Moon hollered over the noisy blaze.
At first, no one knew which path to whereas the mist-shrouded the stretching distance, and all four paths looked the same.
"Before you attempt to "figure this out," you seem to have brought six allies with you, who have no reason to be here." With his hands, Roshi performed odd symbols, and his monkeys attacked the kittens!
Though the girls haphazardly hurled attacks around, they could fend off the monkeys as the primates scampered down the paths. Tragically, not before the kittens suffered the same fate as them, including turning human: Elizabeth started sobbing loudly, though no sound came out of her mouth. Nor could Diana move! Neo-Eternal Sailor Moon scooped them up to comfort and protect them. Comet kept rubbing her ears while Asteroid did the same to his eyes. Quartz was not moving, and Rose had gone silent, too! Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, Nova, Earth, and Eclipse rushed to comfort the other kittens.
"How dare you harm our kittens!" Neo-Eternal Sailor Moon screamed.
"I did not harm them. You do not belong here unless you have lost a sense. That is the law!" Roshi growled.
Venus whispered to her princess to soothe her, "Small Lady, let's just focus on getting our senses back. We can work on getting our emotions out later."
"Fine." Neo-Eternal Sailor Moon pouted.
Still, the girls stood at the intersection, staring at the four paths. If they chose the wrong one, what would happen?
