TDI. Chapter 5: Dodge it!
(Dock of Shame)
Chris can be seen at the Dock of Shame, "Last time on Total Drama Island..." the camera shows the campers running and then getting stuffed with the buffet. "Our campers had to run a 20 K race around the lake and then gorge on a huge buffet."
The camera now shows the campers at the bonfire pit, exhausted. It then shifts to Heather talking to Lindsay and Beth. "After that, our campers had to stay awake as long as possible to win. Taking advantage of the opportunity while everyone is tired, Heather decides to form the first official alliance with Beth and Lindsay."
Next, Justin is seen nervously noticing disapproving looks from Duncan and Geoff, and an angry Eva. "Speaking of being tired, it seems the Bass reached their limit seeing how Justin didn't help them at all, just to maintain his beauty."
Chris raises the hand of a sleeping Gwen. "In the end, Gwen secured the win for her team by being the last one standing ... " Now, we see Justin walking to the Boat of Losers. "Also, Justin became the first camper off the island. Maybe he'll have better luck in commercials in the future because he didn't have any here."
We return to Chris next to the sign, drinking water from a coconut. "What awaits us today? Who will be the next person to be eliminated? Will Gwen manage to stay awake until the end of the episode? Find out here on... TOTAL... DRAMA... ISLAND!"

(Main Hall)
All the campers are having their breakfast somewhat dejectedly, especially the Bass, who not only lost twice in a row but also had to eliminate a member of their team.
As for the Gophers, they seem somewhat more exhausted, with Naruto, Heather, and Trent being the most worn out and Gwen hasn't even arrived yet, probably due to the Awake-a-thon that ended up just the day before. Both teams haven't fully recovered from the lack of sleep, but the Gophers seem worse.
"Wow, Gophers, you look pretty bad. What happened?" Chris finds it unusual that the team is this exhausted. He knows they wouldn't be at their best for another day, maybe three in the case of the four who lasted the longest in the Awake-a-thon, but for some reason, it seems they didn't sleep well last night.
"Harold was snoring loudly last night ... we could barely sleep" Beth explains with a yawn. It seems the nerd snores loudly when he's very tired. Beth is tired, but active enough to move normally.
"It's a medical condition, gosh" a rested Harold defends himself. It's not his fault his body acts that way.
"You're going to have a new medical condition next time I hear you snore like that" threatened Heather, who was not in a good mood, well, she hasn't been ever since she arrived on the island, but this time she is worse.
"Dweeb … I'm not in the mood for your complains today" yawning with some tiredness, Naruto just wanted to go back to sleep after eating his, cereal? Dought? Whatever.
"I don't give a damn about your stupid mood" Heather counters, making Naruto's eyebrow twitch.
"[Japanese] Damn spoiled bitch" Naruto growls in his native language, to the confusion of several and Heather growling back. She doesn't know what the Japanese guy said, but she's sure it was at least an insult.
"[Korean] Screw you, idiot" Heather wanted to have the last word as they both glared at each other, some of the Gophers swore sparks were flying between their gazes, much to Chris' delight and annoyance.
"On one hand, this is what I need, but on the other, now I have to hire translators to create subtitles and censor any foul language if they said anything too heated," Chris thought. It seems he'll have to spend a bit more of his comfort... uh, the show's budget.
Turning to the Bass, it seems someone is quite happy about the other team's conflicts.
(Confession)
"Well, this might work in our favor" Courtney remarks happily. "We're down a team member, and we need to take every opportunity possible to even the numbers."
(Main Hall)
"Hey, it's Gwen!" Chris announces, prompting the Gophers to cheer upon seeing the goth girl.
"Why are we clapping?" Lindsay asks Beth.
"Because she made us win the challenge" Beth replies.
"I'm ... so tired ... I can't feel my face" just as Gwen sits down, her face slams into the table causing grimaces of pain. Hopefully, the girl's sleep would provide enough numbness to not feel that blow, but a groan of pain says otherwise.
"Alright campers, your next challenge starts in half an hour" Chris announces, surprising several.
"What? But we just finished a challenge yesterday" Bridgette protests.
"That's what you should have thought before extending the previous challenge for four days. We're behind schedule, so we need to catch up people" all the campers groaned tiredly at what the host said.
(On the way to the challenge)
Once breakfast is over, the campers follow Chris along the beach for the next challenge.
"It was nice of you to carry the white girl to the challenge boy" Leshawna admits to Naruto, who is beside her, carrying a sleeping Gwen on his back.
"We'll need all the help we can get, so it's necessary for her to rest as much as possible. That, and I just couldn't leave her like that" the Japanese boy admits for the sassy girl to understand.
"Still a nice gesture dude, but won't you be getting tired too?" Trent couldn't help but ask, to which Naruto dismisses him a bit.
"I'll be fine" he reassures the Japanese guy.
Meanwhile, taking advantage of the opportunity, Heather takes Lindsay and Beth behind the others, and speaks to them in a low voice about the alliance.
"Alright, we need to clarify some ground rules" Heather whispers, walking between the two. "Rule number one, I'm the leader of this alliance, so I make the rules. Rule number two ..." Heather turns to look at Lindsay and Beth, to see if they can guess an obvious rule.
"Does breaking the rules get you kicked out of the alliance?" Heather nods at Lindsay's question. At least the bombshell is learning.
"Rule number three, I can use any of your stuff without asking, but my stuff is off-limits" that third rule made Lindsay and Beth a little uncomfortable, with the bombshell being the one to voice it.
"I don't think I like that rule" Heather rolls her eyes at Lindsay's comment, she just needs a simple threat.
"Don't worry, I can change that rule..." Lindsay and Beth smile, the three of them might get along well "...but I can also find someone else to get to the final three" and with that threat, the two's confidence instantly diminishes, reluctantly accepting Heather's rules.
"Alright ..." Heather ends in a better mood, quickening her pace. "You better move, girls, we're falling behind." Lindsay and Beth just look at each other, unsure how to process the conversation they just had.
(Court Wawanakwa)
Everyone is in a sports court surrounded by sturdy glass walls, and Chef is dressed as a referee, ready for the challenge to come.
"Welcome to the Court Wawanakwa campers" Chris announces with his usual professional smile.
"I don't remember this place being here when we arrived to the island" DJ says surprised, getting nods of agreement from those who heard him.
"Today's challenge is a classic from school, dodgeball. The first rule of dodgeball is..." before he can finish, Noah interrupts.
"Umm... let me guess, dodge the ball?" he sarcastically asks, drawing some laughter from the others at Chris's expense.
"As I was saying, if the ball hits you..." Chris mentions, still with his smile, he decides to throw the ball as hard as he can directly at Noah's kiwis causing the bookworm to fall to his knees and clutch his jewels, and letting out a sharp scream of pain "you're out."
"It's... official... I hate you" Noah manages to say in a very high-pitched voice.
Taking pleasure in the bookworm's suffering, the host continues "Alright, Katie, throw the ball at me." Chris instructs the tallest of the BFFFs, who is next to Noah, and follows the instruction. "If you catch the ball, the thrower is out, and the one who caught it can bring back a member of the team who has been eliminated, although Chef will choose who returns" the host clarifies while catching the ball thrown by Katie.
"Alright, Cody, try to hit me when I give you the signal" Chris instructs the geek as he hands him a ball and takes another one from the pile. "If you have a ball with you, you can use it to deflect enemy balls, but if they make you drop the ball, you're out." With the third rule explained, Chris signals to Cody to throw the ball.
"What do I do when the ball comes at me and I don't have a ball?" Lindsay asks as Cody throws the ball at Chris.
"Dodge it!" the host exclaims, deflecting the ball directly at the bombshell, prompting her to follow the instruction, but she doesn't react in time causing the ball to hit her in the face, knocking her to the ground.
"Ooooohhhh ... you were supposed to dodge that" the host remarks with a grimace, seeing Lindsay stand up with a bruise on her forehead.
Chris then regains his composure to continue. "The best of five sets wins. Gophers, to even things out with the Bass, you'll have to leave one person out in each set. Alright, you have 10 minutes to plan before each set and a time-out per team. Begin."
(With the Screaming Gophers)
"Alright, we can't let our guard down. the other team will do everything possible to catch up to us" Heather states, somewhat concerned, just by looking at Eva and Tyler makes her know that this won't be easy.
Add to that the fact that everyone is tired due to Harold's snoring. Only the nerd and Owen, who is a heavy sleeper, are fully rested, and Heather doesn't like this at all.
A small consolation is that Eva and Duncan are also not at their best because they were among the last of the other team to fall asleep, but they still have to deal with a team that's almost at full capacity.
Right now, she sees Gwen, and she's not happy with her state. Undoubtedly, she is the most tired of all, and even though it pains her to admit it, she needs all the help she can get to win, so the goth girl has to sit out for a couple of sets to regain some energy.
"Alright, apart from Sleeping Beauty, who can't start in this set?" at least the queen bee wanted to see what she was working with.
"Okay, you convinced me..." Noah happily goes to take a seat on his team's benches and makes a gun sign with both hands. "Now go out there and burn them with those killer balls." After that, to his team's surprise, he signals to Chef that he won't participate in the set and sits down to take out a book and read, seemingly uninterested in what is to come.
(With the Killer Bass)
"Well, at least I can say we have a very good chance of winning" Courtney looks satisfied with what's happening. "Alright, Eva, Tyler, Duncan, I want the three of you on the court" she instructs cheerfully, but someone thinks otherwise.
"I'm sorry, princess, but I'd rather see what happens in the first set," Duncan clarifies, making Courtney look confused.
"Why? If we have the resources, we should use them" Courtney only hoped the delinquent wasn't playing something that would cost them the challenge.
"Call it a gut feeling, but I want to see what happens" that, and he would have more time to rest his eyes a bit more. He was tired, but at least it's manageable.
"Don't worry, Courtney, everything will be fine," DJ takes the rule girl by the shoulders to reassure her, as his mother says, a positive attitude to calm the situation.
With nothing more to do, she resigned herself to what Duncan was doing. At least this challenge is the best of five sets.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 1)
It appears that Owen, Trent, Naruto, Heather, and Harold will be up against Eva, Tyler, Izzy, Geoff, and Courtney.
Both teams were figuring out the best way to get to the center to grab the six balls first, with Naruto positioning himself comfortably to run.
"Bring it on, fishes, winning three times in a row would be boring" Heather mocked to the other team's annoyance.
"You're the ones who are going down..." Tyler retorts, "we'll set the table for dinner and then we are gonna eat it." Everyone gave the clumsy jock a confused look.
(Confession)
"Yeah, I could have said that better" Tyler admits.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 1)
"Ready, campers?" hearing Chris, everyone takes their positions, indicating to the host that they're ready. "Alright, begin!" he announces for Chef to blow the whistle.
Everyone was surprised to see Naruto and Eva running at full speed to the center, with the Japanese arriving first and passing three balls to his team and grabbing a fourth in time to try to deflect a ball thrown by Eva, but he didn't know that the girl would be so strong. The thrown ball pushed the one he was holding causing both to hit him in the chest, and then sending him flying and crashing into the glass wall, this gained a lot of pained grimaces from several people.
Taking advantage of the surprise, Eva took the only ball left and threw it at Trent successfully hitting him in the face, and he was also thrown against the wall, unconscious. But now, being left without balls on her side, the athlete girl had to step back to dodge or eliminate someone by catching a ball.
But suddenly, the image freezes. "That was epic..." Chris's voice can be heard as the video goes back to Naruto defending himself with his ball. "As we can see, our Japanese camper was about to deflect the ball, and I say 'was' because he didn't expect the force to be such that both balls hit him" he says while laughing, advancing and rewinding the video repeatedly, seeing Naruto's expression as he is hit, even some saliva coming out of his mouth.
Now the video advances, showing Trent looking at Naruto without noticing the ball about to crash into his face. "Moving on to our musician, you can see a mix of amazement and phantom pain on his face for what happened to his teammate ..." Chris enjoys himself as the video pauses just as the ball hits Trent's face. "But that pain became his own when the second cannonball came sending him back to the world of dreams" the host mocks, advancing and rewinding the video repeatedly, showing the musician crashing against the glass wall again and again, laughing at what he sees until finally returning to the challenge.
(Confession)
"What the hell happened there?!" Heather couldn't believe she had lost two teammates, one being her team's only athlete, in just a few seconds.
*Static*
"Man, I'm glad I'm not up against Eva right now" DJ says, still looking surprised.
*Static*
Izzy was laughing at what just happened. "That was totally awesome, friends. Mr. Whiskers was all like, 'I'm going to block you' only to end up being a pancake on the wall, while the other guy, for not paying attention, ended up seeing nothing." She was definitely having fun.
*Static*
"Naru, Trent, I won't let your sacrifice be in vain..." Owen was acting like a soldier, placing his hand on his forehead as if bidding farewell to fallen comrades. "I swear I'll avenge you." Now the big guy had a stern look.
(Court Wawanakwa - Set 1)
"Everyone snap out of it and get ready!" now out of the initial surprise, the rest of the Bass followed Eva's lead and prepared to dodge the balls that were about to come.
Taking one of the balls, Heather threw it at Tyler only for him to dodge it, taking the opportunity, he picked it up from the ground and threw it, but hitting Sadie in the process.
"That will ruin her makeup" Chris couldn't help but point out before sending another ball back to them, with Courtney catching it and giving it to Tyler, somewhat annoyed.
"Alright, now try to hit someone from the other team" Tyler nods at what the polite girl said, but when he turns around, a ball coming at full speed hits him in the stomach, sending him to the glass wall to everyone's surprise. But the surprise increased even more when Owen, with his arm extended, indicated that he was the one who threw it.
"FOR THE FALLEN SOLDIERS!" more than one was startled by that war cry from the normally friendly Owen, only for him to take another ball and spin his arm at full speed so that the ball gained momentum. "COWABUNGAAA!" with that shout, he launched his ball at full speed directly at Courtney that couldn't react in time and was sent flying to the wall right next to Tyler.
"Ouch, she'll feel that in the morning" says Chris, completely surprised. Who would have thought that Owen would be so skilled and intense in a game like this? It seems Chef agrees with him if his open-mouthed nod is any indication.
Taking immediate action, Izzy takes the ball that hit Tyler and throws it at Heather deal with Owen when he was alone. But the queen bee girl reacts in time, taking a ball from the ground and try to eliminate the crazy girl with Owen's support, but surprisingly, Izzy jumps high, barely dodging Owen's ball and does a backflip to catch Heather's ball, getting her out of the court.
"Whoa" Sadie murmurs as she sees this.
Although the action of catching the ball causes Chef to point at Sadie to enter the court, making the shortest of the BFFFs gulp, she just saw what Owen is capable of and doesn't want to be hit by a ball thrown by him, but if she didn't want to go home, she has to play.
"Time to show off my wicked skills" Harold says, smashing his ball on the ground, but it only makes the ball to bounce innocently arriving on the Bass' side, with Geoff taking the ball and throwing it at an alarmed Harold, only for Owen to catch it in time, eliminating the party guy and giving Lindsay the opportunity to enter now.
But it seems the girl forgot the rules of the game as she took a ball and didn't know what to do. "Um... can someone remind me what to do with this?" but her lack of attention to her surroundings earned her another ball and bruise in the face from Izzy, who was laughing.
"Boom! Headshot" but then ducked in time to dodge Owen's ball.
But with only focusing in Izzy, the oaf didn't noticed a ball from Eva, which ended up hitting him in the ribs leaving only Harold, who, seeing the situation, just closes his eyes and takes a deep breath as if preparing for a confrontation, only to be interrupted by a ball to the groin from Sadie.
"Oops, sorry" the girl apologizes awkwardly as she sees Harold on the ground.
"The Bass wins" Chris announces laughing for the said team to celebrate.
(Screaming Gophers)
"What the hell is wrong with you guys?" Heather was complaining about her team.
"Girl, you need to calm down, it's only been the first set" Leshawna takes her by the shoulders to prevent things from getting ugly.
"Fine..." the queen bee grumbles. "Moron and Owen, you stay in the court, Noah, Leshawna, and Cody, you go next." At least she wants to make sure to keep her best players. The Moron would already know what to do with Eva and would get the balls first, and there's no way she was going to waste Owen after seeing what he's capable of. She is now thankful that the oaf is at his peak.
"I'm sorry, but sports are not my forte" Noah announces, only to raise his hand to make Chef understand that he will be the one not to enter the set again.
"Wait, what?" Cody couldn't believe what the bookworm was doing.
"Wait, Chris..." Beth tried to talk so that the host would stop her before she could continue.
"I'm sorry, but there are no changes once it's decided who's out," the host indicates to the Gophers' frustration.
(Killer Bass)
"Okay, I think I speak for everyone when I say we didn't expect Owen to be a beast" everyone agreed with Duncan.
"Yeah, it seems like he's someone else," Katie shuddered at the memory of the boy's strength.
"Well, at least we won one set. Can you repeat what you did before, Eva?" a pained Courtney asks the athlete girl.
"Not exactly, Naruto already has an idea of my strength, and he won't fall for the same trick twice" Eva replies.
"Alright, but first we need to make some adjustments to the team" Courtney announces to organize the group.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 2)
Owen, Naruto, Cody, Beth, and Leshawna vs Eva, DJ, Bridgette, Tyler, and Izzy.
Seeing that they are ready, Chef blows the whistle, causing Naruto and Eva to sprint once again. However, this time the Japanese camper passes two balls to his team and throws one at Eva, who had to stop to dodge it. Seizing the opportunity, Naruto passes two more balls and keeps the last one to protect himself, ensuring that each member of the Gophers has a ball.
"This isn't good" DJ mutters, taking the ball thrown to Eva to protect himself.
"LET'S PLAY!" Owen roars, throwing his ball at DJ, who barely deflects it to the glass wall, with Eva seizing the opportunity to grab the ball.
"Alright everyone, move!" Leshawna instructs, ensuring that everyone is on high alert.
Eva, seeing an opportunity, throws her ball at Naruto at full speed, observing how the Japanese camper reacts. Naruto moves enough to dodge it and throws his ball at Bridgette, who, not expecting it, receives the ball in her face, sending her to the ground.
Beth was next to throw the ball at Tyler, who manages to catch it without any trouble, eliminating the farm girl, with Chef pointing at Katie to enter.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Tyler throws the ball again, only to hit Gwen, who is on the Gophers' benches, knocking her to the ground, then Chris throws a ball at them.
"Hey, what the hell was that?" Leshawna, a bit annoyed by this, throws her ball, hitting Tyler in the chest. However, the girl did not see the ball thrown by DJ, hitting her arm.
"Nicely done, DJ," Katie high-fives the Jamaican.
"Naruto, Owen, cover me" Cody instructs his two teammates, with Naruto deflecting a ball from Izzy to Owen's hands and blocking another from DJ. Surprisingly, to everyone's curiosity, the geek rubs his ball on his shirt and points his thumb at Eva before throwing it.
The girl simply deflects it to make Katie catch it, but to everyone's surprise, the ball changes its course as if it were a guided missile to hit Eva in the back of her head.
(Confession)
"Okay, I didn't see that one coming," Eva admits, with a surprised look on her face.
*Static*
"It's a trick I learned at my school," Cody explains with a proud smile.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 2)
"That's a tough ball to dodge" Chris remarks surprised.
Seeing that the tables have turned in their favor, Owen aims at DJ, with the Jamaican dodging it, but a second ball from Naruto hits him in the leg.
On the other hand, Cody aims at Izzy, launching his remote-controlled ball, but then receives a hit from Katie, though his work was already done, with the crazy girl having to run and maneuver across her side of the court to avoid being hit.
Grabbing the last two balls, Owen throws one at Katie, who barely dodges it, but collides with Izzy, giving the oaf the chance to finish with another cowabunga, sending them both to the glass wall, with the unfortunate crazy girl receiving Cody's ball shortly after, hitting her in the face.
"And the gophers tie the score" Chris announces to the celebration of the mentioned team.
(With the Screaming Gophers)
"Alright, Noah, you're up" Heather announces.
"You know, you guys did so well in the previous round that I don't want to ruin your streak," the bookworm says, signaling once again that he won't participate, much to his team's irritation.
(With the Killer Bass)
"Alright, I'm up for this round," Duncan announces, having seen enough to know what to do.
"Nice, you're taking Tyler's spot" Courtney agrees, to the jock's indignation.
"Hey, those were warm-up throws, I can do this. Just give me all the balls, and I'll take care of it" the guy declares, only for Courtney to place her index finger on his chest.
"You're on thin ice, buddy. I'll give you a chance, but you'd better not mess it up, or you'll be the next one to go home" the girl promises, and then indicates Duncan to wait one more set but forgetting a small detail.
"Wait a minute, Naruto is the fastest of all the campers here. How are we going to get to the balls before him?" all the Killer Bass blink at DJ's good question.
"I have an idea," Izzy says with her typical smile.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 3)
Cody, Owen, Naruto, Lindsay, and a now conscious Trent vs Eva, Tyler, Izzy, Sadie, and Courtney.
With the sound of the whistle, Naruto runs, but to his surprise, Eva grabs Izzy like a spear and throws her at the balls reaching them before him. Naruto has to jump backward to avoid being hit as the crazy girl gives the other five balls to Tyler, confusing the Gophers.
The clumsy jock gets ready to throw them one by one, with the first hitting Chef, the second Bridgette, the third Beth, the fourth almost hitting Chris, who scolds him to be careful with his hair and then passing four more balls, and the fifth ball hit Lindsay, this time giving her a black eye.
"Finally" Courtney rejoices to see Tyler hit someone on the opposing team.
"I'm sorry" the clumsy jock apologizes, only to receive a ball from Trent, causing Courtney to slap her forehead.
Regaining consciousness, Lindsay sees that she is being carried off the court, lowering her gaze, she sees that Tyler is carrying her on his back, blushing a little, the bombshell couldn't help but apologize "Um... sorry for the trouble." Tyler, noticing her consciousness, puts her down.
"Don't worry, I was the one who left you like that after all" Tyler says with a sad smile. At this point, he just hopes his team wins so he doesn't have to leave tonight.
Curiously enough, Lindsay notices his mood, and although she has Heather's words in mind and that said girl is looking at her warningly, the bombshell just can't leave Tyler like that. that's not who she is.
"Do you want to go for a walk?" the clumsy jock is a little surprised, but not in the mood to be on the court, so he accepts Lindsay's proposal for the two to walk outside, ignoring Heather's calls for her to come back.
Meanwhile, the teams were doing everything possible not to lose, with the Gophers dodging the balls thrown by the Killer Bass, and Owen managing to catch the ball thrown by Sadie, with Chef calling Gwen, who was barely crawling to the court, but then she is thrown to the ground by a ball from Courtney.
"Naruto was already getting tired due to the lack of sleep, he was barely able to dodge a fast ball from Eva, but Izzy managed to get him out shortly after.
"Yes" Eva cheered a bit when Naruto was taken out of the court.
Owen, with the ball he caught from Sadie, showed no mercy to Courtney, who, having no protection and no possibility of dodging in time, was sent back to the glass wall, again.
(Confession)
"Ugh..." Courtney held her very sore stomach. "Owen needs to calm down a bit. I know he wants to win, but I think he's going too far."
(Dock of Shame)
After searching for a while, Heather found Tyler and Lindsay chatting rather cheerfully. It seemed the blonde had helped the clumsy jock to be in a better mood, and they were taking the opportunity to get to know each other better, much to Heather's displeasure.
'It seems they haven't talked about the alliance' Heather thought, relieved, but she still caught the blonde's attention.
"Lindsay!" The girl was startled to hear Heather.
"I swear I didn't mention anything about our... our team," the girl tried to cover up what really worried the queen bee and luckily it seemed Tyler didn't suspect anything.
"You're coming with me," Heather ordered, with Lindsay accepting like a scolded little girl, getting up to return to the court.
"Hey, you shouldn't treat her like that" Tyler tried to protect Lindsay, making the bombshell smile, but Heather had other plans.
"Why don't you dodge this?" somehow, Heather could easily lift a canoe and threw it at Tyler, hitting him on the head.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 3)
"Alright, how are we doing?" with Lindsay back, Heather wanted to know what happened, just to see how Owen and Trent eliminated Eva, who was the last one standing on the Bass.
"And the Screaming Gophers take the lead" Chris announced with Owen hugging Trent, causing the poor musician's back to make a crack sound.

"Well, at least some people are trying," Heather declared, looking annoyed at Noah, who was still reading.
"Sports aren't my forte, remember?" Noah reminded to then raise his hand again, but Leshawna took his hand before he could do it and announced that Gwen would be the one not participating in the next set, getting a nod from the Chef.
"You're going to contribute whether you like it or not, scrawny boy" the sassy girl demanded, giving Noah a deathly look that made him swallow.
(With the Killer Bass)
"Alright, this is bad..." Courtney didn't like what had just happened. "If we don't do something soon we'll lose again. What happened there?" The polite girl asked Eva for an explanation, the girl is currently yawning while holding an ice pack to her eye Owen really has a good arm.
"Owen is a problem, he's one of the very few who are completely rested and is very good at the game. I'm also starting to feel the effects of the lack of sleep" the athletic girl clarified, to Courtney's frustration. Her best player was reaching her limit.
"Rest in this set Eva" all the present Bass were surprised by what Duncan said.
"You're crazy, we need her to win" Courtney protested, but the punk wouldn't have any of it.
"Just look at her. We need her as best as possible for the last set, so she needs to rest at least a bit" Duncan emphasized before turning to look at DJ.
"Do you think you can throw the crazy one the same way as Eva did?" Duncan asked, causing the Jamaican to ponder.
"I'd say yes dude" DJ replied.
"Alright, we're going to use a tactic I learned during my first visit to juvie. It's called 'Rush the New Guy'" the punk announced.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 4)
Owen, Cody, Naruto, Beth, and Noah vs Duncan, Katie, DJ, Izzy, and Geoff.
The Gophers were surprised by Eva's absence but smiled, victory was already theirs.
At the sound of the whistle, Izzy lunged at DJ, using herself as a spear, much to the girl's amusement.
"Super Izzy to the attack!" the girl exclaimed cheerfully, striking a Superman pose as she flew, landing back on the balls, passing them to the rest of her team.
With the six balls in their hands, Geoff, DJ, and Katie threw their balls at Owen, who couldn't react in time and got hit, getting him eliminated, much to the shock of his team.
"O-O-O-Owen" Cody stuttered, seeing him out, but the Bass didn't waste any time, with DJ taking another ball so that along with Duncan and Izzy they eliminated the geek too.
Noticing that the situation suddenly went south, Naruto, Beth, and Noah tried to eliminate the Bass, but they dodged.
Taking advantage of this, they threw the balls at Naruto, who surprisingly dodged them by turning his back and doing a backflip like Izzy.
"Damn!" Leshawna exclaimed in surprise.
"Is that the best you've got?" Naruto asked mockingly, he turned over just in time to receive one last ball in his jewels from Izzy, who was laughing.
(Confession)
"Why do they always go for the kiwis?!" the Japanese exclaimed in pain as he held his parts.
*Static*
"First a headshot and now a fatality, it's been a productive day folks" a smiling Izzy clarified, putting her hands on her hips.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 4)
Beth and Noah did their best to win, but it didn't do much good as Duncan and DJ eliminated them shortly after.
"And the Bass ties the score" Chris announced to the team's cheerfulness.
"Yes!" Courtney cheered quietly.
"And that's how we do things back home," Duncan high-fived DJ.
"Alright campers, final set, you better get your best throwers ready for this" Chris announced with his professional smile.

"All right, we're not going to lose. How do you feel for this last round, Moron?" Heather asks with the closest thing of concern for Naruto, who has an ice pack on his jewels.
"I think I can do it one more time, but I won't be able to reach the balls with Izzy flying around the field" the Japanese clarifies to the frustration of the queen bee.
"Very well, if you can't beat them, join them. Who volunteers to be thrown?" the still abnormally serious asks only for Harold to offer himself, to the doubt of his team. They weren't sure after the one time he played, but Lindsay didn't do any better.
(With the Killer Bass)
"Alright, guys, I want the best ones on the field. We can win this challenge" Courtney declares confidently to her team, as she's about to choose, Tyler arrives at the court.
"May I ask where you've been?" Courtney questions, arms crossed and a disapproving look.
"Just taking some stuff out of my head" the clumsy jock responds. "How are we doing?" he asks, only for the rest of his team to roll their eyes.
"We're tied, this set will decide everything" Sadie replies, and Tyler nods.
"I wish you the best" was all he said before sitting on the bench confusing his team. Wasn't he the one asking to enter every set?
(Confession)
"I can tell when a situation is beyond me ..." Tyler clarifies with a sigh. "I don't want to ruin their victory."
(Court Wawanakwa - set 5)
The final entry teams are Owen, Cody, Naruto, Heather, and Harold vs Izzy, Duncan, Eva, Courtney, and DJ.
"Alright campers, let's send this DNA sample to the lab and see the result, BEGIN!" Chris announces for the Chef to blow the whistle.
Eva went for the same strategy, but to the Bass' surprise, they were copied with Owen throwing Harold. Thanks to the nerd being lighter, he reached the center first, rolling all the balls to his team.
"Let's go team, move those hands and stay alert" Heather instructs, so everyone acts on her command throwing the balls at DJ, who couldn't protect himself and was shot against the wall. But before that, Izzy lunged to catch Heather's ball, getting her out and bringing in Geoff.
All the Bass try to take out Owen, but Harold acts fast and uses himself as a shield knowing the oaf is their best chance to win.
Taking advantage of the fact that the Gophers now have some balls, Owen throws it to Courtney, who almost dodges it but it hits her foot, getting her out.
With the cover provided to Cody, the geek aims at Izzy again for a guided throw, but noticing it again, the crazy girl escapes again. This time, Eva helps her by catching the ball and getting rid of the geek, now both of them are preparing to go against Naruto.
"Oh no" Beth whispers, seeing the disadvantage.
On another place, Owen throws a ball at Geoff, who luckily dodges it positioning himself in front of Duncan blocking the punk's view. The oaf takes advantage of this by doing a cowabunga which the party guy ducks in time, but the punk, not seeing the ball, is shot against the wall, causing several grimaces.
Back with Naruto, Eva and Izzy, the two Bass members are throwing their balls for Japanese guy to barely dodge the athletic girl's ball, while Izzy takes the ball Owen threw to eliminate Naruto, almost succeeding if it weren't for Owen, who catches her ball, and brings Leshawna, worrying the Bass.
"Okay, Owen is really showing off" a surprised Gwen admits, seeing how the boy moves.
"You said it girl" Leshawna agrees as she goes to the court.
Taking advantage of the ball thrown by Eva, Leshawna throws it at Geoff, who dodges it, but Naruto uses one of the loose balls to eliminate him. However, Eva lunges to catch it in time, getting the Japanese out, now bringing in Tyler, much to the clumsy jock's surprise.
Owen, wanting to end this now, throws the ball he caught from Izzy at Eva, who crouches, but she didn't count on Owen throwing a low ball, hitting her in the face, knocking her out and sending her straight to her team's shelves, to the horror of the Bass.
"No!" Courtney exclaims, pulling her hair and the Bass became desperate, they can't lose, not again.
"Yes!" Heather cheers happily, as the Gophers, except Noah who's still reading, get up from their seats excitedly to see Owen win the challenge.
Geoff, having a crazy idea, throws a ball at the glass wall while Leshawna throws another ball, hitting the party guy in the chest, but the ball thrown against the glass bounced, and hit Leshawna in the arm.
"I never said rebound shots against the wall were forbidden" Chris clarifies, surprised by Geoff's loophole, but to the disbelief of the Gophers.
"Oh, come on" Trent complains, but it seems the host ignored him.
In the end, only two were left, Owen and Tyler, causing the Gophers to celebrate, but the Bass resigned themselves to their fate, except Courtney, who was trying to think of anything that would help them until she remembered Chris's rules.
"I'm sorry pal..." Owen begins as he played with his ball. "But you have to go down" the oaf declares to prepare a cowabunga but stopping due to Courtney's shout.
"TIME OUT!" with those words, Chef blows the whistle for a three-minute time out.

Now all gathered, the Bass wanted to see how to face this situation. "All right, Tyler, you're our only hope" Courtney says, worried.
"She's right, aiming isn't your forte dude, so you'll have to catch the ball," Geoff says worriedly, as those who received a cowabunga touched where they were hit. One of those can knock you unconscious if it hits your head, with Eva being an example of that.
"Do you think you can do it?" Bridgette asks, concerned, this makes Tyler look at Owen. The guy was warming up his arm and then looked down. If he was honest, despite having very good athletic qualities, his coordination was terrible. He doesn't know how many times that took him out of every sports club he joined, but then he took on a determined look, remembering Eva and Naruto. In the short time he knew them, he could see they didn't give up despite everything. Hell, even Eva ended up unconscious just to help them win, so if they can do it, he can too.
"Consider that ball caught" the clumsy jock decides to risk it all and goes to the court with a determined look. If he's leaving the island, at least it'll be with pride.
(Court Wawanakwa - set 5)
"Alright campers, let's end this" Chris gives Chef the indication to blow the whistle.
While the last two throwers looked at each other, the Bass supported their teammate, giving him encouragement, Tyler taking a deep breath, positioned himself to catch the ball.
Owen seeing what Tyler wanted to do, decides to step up his game. He wouldn't let him catch the ball. Right now, he was spinning his arm with greater speed as the tension increased.
"SONIC COWABUNGAAAAAA!" the oaf shouts. Everyone saw him stop his arm, but a sound of impact made everyone turn to see Tyler against the wall. The impact was such that part of the wall cracked, and while the clumsy jock slid, everyone was anxious to see what happened.
"Come on man" Geoff whispered nervously. He didn't want to see, but at the same time he wanted to.
A now conscious Eva was staring at what had just happened. She might not have known Tyler for a long time, but she recognizes someone with guts when she sees them. So she wants to see if that guy has enough guts to continue in this game.

Slowly, a very shaky hand rose, holding the ball that Owen had thrown. This finished the challenge.
"And the Killer Bass takes the victory!" an astonished Chris exclaims, with Chef giving the final whistle for the Bass to celebrate with a tremendous shout of joy. They run euphorically to Tyler to lift him up, shouting his name.
On the Gophers' side, they couldn't believe what had just happened. What the hell happened? They had already secured the victory a moment ago.
Meanwhile, Owen seems to be having some kind of trauma as he falls to his knees. "It can't be..." he whispers incredulously, then raises his voice a bit, "It's impossible..." he just raises his arms to the sky as he shouts at the top of his lungs "I'M SORRY GUYS, I'VE FAILED YOU!" The oaf the cries in embarrassment and sadness for his 'act of dishonor' only for Beth to pat his back to make him feel better. She wasn't mad at Owen, in fact, if it weren't for him, they wouldn't have come this far.
As Tyler is lifted, he sees the other team and notices how Lindsay discreetly gives him a thumbs up and a sweet smile. The message was clear 'well done.'
"Gophers, what happened?" Chris wanted to know what happened in that last moment and what they thought.
"What can I say, little effort, I'd say" Noah emphasizes, to his team's annoyance.
"Shut it Noah" Gwen grumbles, as Leshawna helps her walk to the cabin.
"For once, I agree with her" Heather mentions before leaving with Lindsay, while the boys of the team, except Owen, who was still crying, gave him a dirty look.
"What? The team's productivity has been lacking lately" this only intensified the looks.
(Bonfire pit)
"Alright, you all have voted" Chris mentions with his marshmallow tray.
"If I mention your name, come and get your marshmallow. The only one who doesn't receives it will have to walk the Dock of Shame, take the Boat of Losers, and never return" with that, Chris prepares to mention the names.
"Owen, Naruto, Cody, Heather, Leshawna, Trent, Beth, Harold, Gwen..." with each name, the mentioned campers are relieved, and now only Lindsay and Noah remain. "Alright, this is the last marshmallow of the night, the last person to receive it is..."
Lindsay becomes very nervous, she didn't have the best performance in the challenge, and it didn't help that Heather got mad at her after helping Tyler to feel better, which indirectly was a factor in their loss. On the other hand, Noah is very calm, there's no way they would prefer the air-headed blonde over him.
"Lindsay" the host announces, to the joy of the bombshell and the shock of Noah.
"Wait, are you serious?!" Noah couldn't believe it but then turns to look at his now former team with a scolding look. "Well, I just hope you realize you eliminated the only one with a brain on the team" he mentions, only for the others to throw their marshmallows at him.
"You need to learn a little thing called respect, twig" Leshawna growls, and the bookworm leaves.

"That was indeed a long day," Chris mentions. "What awaits our remaining campers? Will Owen overcome his 'war trauma'? Will Tyler be able to throw a ball correctly? And more importantly, will Heather be able to keep her alliance a secret? Find out next time on TOTAL … DRAMA ... ISLAND!"

Well, I have to say, some things are changing more and we are only beginning, Owen surely is a guy you should watch out for once he sets his mind into it but that's what makes him so popular.
I remind you that this is an harem story but as always, I need help because I have zero experience here, so if you could give me ideas of how to do it correctly would be appreciated, also, you can recommend who you want Naruto to be with, but explain how could happen because remember that I will respect most of the cannon of the Total Drama universe, but remember, the max number is 6 so think carefully.
