Colin was surprised by this. People don't just call an establishment in the middle of the night. And why would this phone ring and not the one at the entrance where the receptionist takes most calls?

'It must be someone trying to prank me. They know I'm new so they're taking advantage of that fact'

Yet something told him it would be for the better to answer the phone. He wasn't sure why, he just had this weird feeling in his gut that not picking up the receiver would be a horrible idea. He turned off the Walkman. The silence was deafening, only disturbed by the echo of the phone.

On the third ring he picked it up.

"Hello, who is this? The convention is closed, if you need to speak with a receptionist call back tomorrow" he said. He wasn't in the mood for pranks.

"I know the building is closed. My name is Walter, I am the janitor. I am calling to help you out tonight" came the voice of a middle aged man. His voice was very warm, very friendly. It brought a sense of comfort, reminded him of a sort of father figure, or a grandparent. But Colin was still confused.

"The janitor? There are a bunch of janitors working here, what's so special about you? And what do you mean 'help'? Norris showed me how everything works already" he replied.

"Thought he would. Listen, my position is… a bit more unusual, I'm not just any janitor. I'll explain in a moment, but please listen. Norris didn't tell you everything. I'm assuming when you signed that contract you saw a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo which you couldn't decipher?"

It wasn't surprising that he knew about that, most businesses do it. It still felt quite weird to sign the contract. Despite most businesses having entire paragraphs which only the higher-ups could understand, it was as if this contract was hiding something. As if all of those words held a deeper meaning which he just couldn't grasp.

"Yeah, that's right. What about it?"
"That contract hides many things. Such as the fact that if you were to die during your shift, the business would be allowed to dispose of your body and report you as missing to the authorities"

Colin was shocked for a moment. Die? Why would he die? And why would they hide this fact?

He wanted to believe that this really was an elaborate prank, but the man's voice seemed so deadly serious as well as strangely genuine that he felt as if he simply couldn't dismiss all of this as a joke. The air suddenly felt more stuffy. Heavier. The office seemed to shrink.

'It's clear that this guy knows what he is saying. I can tell. I need to know more'

"Go on"

"Now here's the fucked up part; if that were to happen, we wouldn't afford it to close down or even delay opening times. Somehow, those bodies gotta be taken care of, and fast. That's were I come in. You remember how I told you I'm not just a janitor?"
"Yes, I remember"

"I am more than that. I am the one who comes in that office every morning to check for bodies, and I am also the one who cleans everything up. The one who makes sure that the customers don't see what I have to see over and over and over again"

Colin didn't know what to say. This was a lot to take in. Way too much.

'Just what the hell did I sign up for !?'

But most of all, he was furious.

"SO YOU ARE AWARE OF PEOPLE DYING HERE AND YOU JUST SWEEP IT ALL UNDER THE RUG? JUST… LET IT HAPPEN? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? WHY ARE YOU EVEN WORKING HERE STILL?"

"Son, I'm gonna need you to calm down. I'll explain everything, just let me finish"
"Well you better give me a good explanation, and fast"

He didn't want to let the man explain himself, but he had to admit that he was curious as to what other things this convention hid.

"Look, there are a few reasons why I let it happen. First of all, I can't alert the police. I just can't. If I will, this place will close down, and I'll be fucked. This is the only place I can work at-"

"So? Do you think you matter more than all those people dying? And what do you mean you can't work someplace else? Of course you can. There are a bunch of jobs out there" Colin interrupted the janitor.

"Not for me. They wouldn't hire me. Never. Maybe I'll tell you why another time. But I can't go into that right now, we don't have enough time. You'll soon figure out why. Now my second reason is that I am actually friends with the owner. Thing is, all this madness ain't his fault. He doesn't deserve to go to prison. He is as much of a victim as the ones before you. The reason why he isn't closing down is because he is hoping that things would change. That maybe it won't always be like this"

"That still makes him responsible though. He could at any point close the convention. For good. It would spare the lives of many"

"But it would also sacrifice the lives of others. Patience. As I told you before, I'll explain. The third reason is that if Norris were to close down, a lot of very advanced technology would be easy to steal, and if that technology were to fall in the wrong hands… well, let's just say that the whole of America would be in grave danger and potentially the entire world would be as well"

Colin wanted to laugh. That sounded ridiculous.

'Just what would a convention pizzeria place hide that could put the entire world in danger?'

"I am having a very hard time believing that. But fine, I'll allow it. If what you are saying is true, then you convinced me you aren't that bad. Tell me, am I in danger as well?"

"Absolutely. In fact, that's why I called you. I want to help you survive"

"I appreciate that. What do I need to do?"

"Finally. Right, so I'll actually start with the animatronics. They were manufactured by Afton Robotics, more specifically by William Afton. Mr. Afton created many things, and his devices have always been very advanced. In fact, that tablet you will be using was made by him"

"Oh yeah, Norris told me about him. Yeah, he showed me how to use the tablet, it's like magic. And the animatronics are so… lifelike as well. That guy is really talented"

"That he is. He is so intelligent actually, that he worked on the AI of the animatronics for so long that he figured out how to make them alive"

"Woah, hold up. Sentient robots? Yeah, right. That's straight up bullshit"

"No, really. I know it's hard to believe, but have you seen the way they interact with the customers? Or the way they perform? It isn't that far-fetched"

Colin suddenly remembered the fox sisters. The way they moved was uncannily realistic. There was something about them that felt… wrong. They were both unusual in their own ways. Suddenly, all of this didn't seem so unbelievable anymore.

"Yeah, you're right. They are too… alive. I've been to some other restaurants that have animatronics, but none of them were as advanced as the girls here. None of them seemed so alive. Fucking hell…"

"I know. I'm sure you've also noticed their… assets. It would be impossible not to"

"I did. William's a hell of a pervert"

"You're telling me. So you can imagine how some customers sometimes get too touchy with them. We actually have a policy stating that touching the girls in an inappropriate way is prohibited, but some people either don't know or don't care. We've had way too many incidents of that happening. So many that I can't count. And the girls have grown tired of it. They don't trust any adult males and are even getting suspicious of adult females as well lately. And yes, some women did it as well."

"Sounds like a pain in the ass"
"You have no idea. It's so bad that the girls started hunting down our night-guards to get revenge"

The young male suddenly looked left and right, starting to panic.

'Are they here yet? Crap, what if they are hiding in the dark, waiting for me to not pay attention?'

"Relax, kid. They haven't moved yet, it's too early. Security footage usually shows them starting to move at 2-3 AM during the first night. It's 12:14 now, you have enough time. See why I wanted to hurry up now? You might be safe now, but what if they decide to move sooner at some point? I doubt that would happen, but you never know. Actually, check the cameras. Look at the one pointing to the stage just to make sure"

The man put the receiver down and with slightly shaking hands picked up the tablet. He turned on the screen and searched for the Stage camera. After a few seconds he tapped on it. The static was quite bad, but he could still make out the shapes of the animatronics. One blue, one brown, and one yellow. Sighing in relief, he put down the tablet and picked up the receiver again.

"Yeah, they're still there. Thank God"

"Shut down the tablet. It's hooked up to the generator -don't ask me how, I don't know- and it's consuming power. Don't worry, it only takes a second to power up again"

Colin did as asked while marveling at the fact that the tablet turned on so fast. His computer took a full minute to boot up.

"Ok, it's off"

"Good. Only having the light on in your office is taking power. Having the tablet on, checking the lights and closing the doors takes power as well and when you'll be doing all of that later on your power will plummet. So you'll have to do your best to conserve it"

"Do you have any tips for that?"
"Yeah. Only turn on the lights outside your office under 2 circumstances: one, if you heard a sound outside your doors. Two, if the animatronics moved from the corners behind your office, in the hallway. That's where they go before trying to get in your office. You'll have 2 cams pointed at those corners. If you see them disappear from there, that means they are outside your doors"

"Got it"

"There is more you need to know. They will try to distract you by posing seductively while you watch the cameras. So if one of them bends down or plays with their boobs, that means another one is approaching the office"

"Wow, they're smart"

"Very smart indeed. Only Bonnie and Chica will move tonight though. The others start moving in later nights. Don't know why. Be careful though, they are sneaky. Especially Freida. She won't bother you tonight but you should know about it anyway. She likes the dark, so look for her eyes. They will be glowing. Foxy is really fast, people usually only have seconds to react"

"That's a lot of information to remember"

"I know, but do your best to remember everything. Your life is at stake. One last thing; if they happen to get in your office, they will rape you. They want you to feel the way they feel when they are touched inappropriately. And trust me, they are very violent. I would know… I've had to clean up a lot of messes, and when I say that the aftermath is sickening I mean it. Now this next thing is quite mild, but at one point Foxy suffocated a guy with her tits. It was very unexpected when I first found out about it. Me and Norris call it The Suffocation of '87. It's crazy how the girls can pull off something like that. It shows that they are not to be underestimated"

"Fucking hell. How am I even supposed to respond to that? This place is insane…"

"Indeed it is… I hope you can see now why Norris doesn't want to close the convention. Where would the girls go? Or if they would stay here, they would slowly break down and rot away. Please remember that they are as much of a victim as everyone else. What they are doing is wrong and messed up, but can I blame them? No. If I were in their position and I was forced to endure being seen as nothing more than a sex object I would be quite pissed off too. So please, show them a little respect, ok?"

"Sure… hey Walter?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you… do you think I could talk with them? Do you think I could change them? I just feel like I can help them if I just try"

There was a slight pause for a moment.

"...I don't know. That's a very noble thing to do, kid. I respect that. But it's also foolish. Chances are, they won't hesitate to kill you. They are too lost within their hate. But if you feel the need to try I can't stop you. Do what you think is right. Just be careful"

"I will"

"Good. I guess I'll leave you to it. You need to focus to make it through tonight. Good luck"

"Thank you. Good night Walter"

"Good night, kid"

{12:47 AM}

Colin had been checking the cameras every few minutes now. He was starting to panic more and more, and the atmosphere within the office had started to become tense and cold. He quickly noticed that although the animatronics didn't move, they would creep him out every once in a while.

The first time it happened he was checking the stage to make sure the animatronics didn't move. At first, everything seemed normal. Then he noticed that Bonnie's eyes were looking right at the camera. Staring. Unblinking. He wasn't sure why, but he felt a shiver going down his spine.

The second time it happened he was checking Pirate's Cove. Again, everything seemed normal, but Colin knew better now and paid more attention. And just as he expected, something unusual was happening. The curtains were moving every few seconds and then they parted to reveal a singular tangerine eye, squinting at him. Colin shut the left door just to be safe. Nothing happened.

The third time Chica got very close to the camera and stopped. She wasn't doing anything. Just staring. Colin didn't know what to think about this. Suddenly, she shot a hand at the camera and moved it downwards so it was facing the floor. The camera was back to normal a few minutes later.

This continued on throughout the night, Colin growing more concerned and worried. The absence of action was killing him. The girls would just creep him out, but would not move from their respective areas.

Until they did.

{2:26 AM}

Colin had stopped checking the cameras so much. He quickly realized just how fast the power was draining.

'How am I even supposed to survive with limited power? Hell, what's going to happen when I'll run out of power?'

He gave a sigh and bounced his right leg in stress.

'I should check on them again. I can't avoid doing it forever'

This turned out to be a very good idea, as when he did check on them a dreadful sight awaited him. He suddenly started sweating and his heart increased its rhythm.

Bonnie was missing.

He switched to the dining area camera only to be greeted by Bonnie glaring at him. If looks could kill he would be long dead by now.

Colin tried not to panic. This still wasn't too bad.

'She's all the way on the other side of the building. She'll take a while to get here. I'll just have to check on her more often'

{2:51 AM}

Bonnie had moved a lot in a short amount of time. She went backstage then to the dining area and moved between these rooms a few times. Sometimes she was trying to scare him, other times he caught her with her mouth open as if she was speaking with someone, until she closed her mouth and gave him a silent, cold glare. She was… weird, to say the least.

He switched to the stage camera since he hadn't checked it in a while. His heartbeat yet again increased as he witnessed Chica moving, but this time towards the dining area.

'Huh. That's new. She only went back and forth on the stage since the beginning of this night, but this… this is gonna be a problem'

Weary, he switched to the dining area camera. She simply sat down on one of the tables and -to his surprise- reached a hand between her legs, under her shorts, and started to fondle herself while wearing a grin and looking right at the camera. Her movements turned faster and she gave a moan. Or at least, that's what Colin thought happened. The camera system didn't have a sound system as well so he couldn't be sure, but the way she opened her mouth and her gestures indicated that she did in fact moan.

Colin was frozen for a few seconds, then shut off the tablet and leaned back in his chair.

'Walter was right. What the actual fuck… So I'm guessing Bonnie is on her way now? Gotta be careful. I have to admit, that was quite hot- no, stop. Don't think about that. I can't afford to get distracted. I need to find Bonnie'

He turned on the tablet, only to be greeted by the sight of Chica again, however this time she was lying on the table, now jerking off faster and grabbing at her tits. It looked like something straight out of a porno. Colin wanted to keep looking so bad, but he knew time was of the essence. Making up his mind, he switched the camera to the West Hallway. And he didn't like what he saw. Bonnie was casually making her way towards the office, with a perfectly calm and determined look on her face. Yet, behind that calm expression he saw anger. He saw a bunny hell bent on causing pain. Her face might have been stony and cold, but her intentions were very clear. And just like that, she vanished from the view of the camera.

'Damn, she's quick'

He shut down the tablet to conserve some power. He gulped down some coffee which was now cold to wake himself a little more. He looked around the office for a few minutes while thinking of his situation.

{3:17}

'Hmmm. Maybe this is my chance to try and communicate with Bonnie and convince her -and maybe the others as well- that I am not what they think I am. The question is though, will I come back for another night?'

At this, he paused his train of thought in realization.

'I could just quit this job. I can do it right away in the morning -if I survive that is- and never think about this place again. No one would blame me either'

Somehow, the thought made him uncomfortable. He didn't like it. It felt wrong.

'But deep down I know I won't do that. No. I can't. If I quit, this circle of murder and pain will keep spinning. I wouldn't make a difference. I want to change things, set them right. I have the opportunity to prevent the death of many other people. And to completely change the lives of another 5. What if… the girls just need someone to understand them? To respect them. To treat them like living beings and not sex objects. Walter and Norris know that they are alive, but I doubt that they interact much, if at all.

Wow, that sounds… depressing. To be seen as a tool for pleasure by the majority of people, and the 2 persons that do know that you're alive ignore your existence. Hell, it sounds like a nightmare. I get it now. They are just misunderstood. Disrespected. Treated like garbage. Something you can use once and then throw away as you continue on your merry way. It doesn't excuse their actions, but it makes them more likable and their situation is a completely understandable one.

I've decided. I will try my best to help them. No one deserves to have such a fate as them'

He turned on the tablet again. The hallway was still empty. It somehow seemed hollow without Bonnie at the center. It was as if she completed it.

He switched to the Storage Closet, and unsurprisingly found Bonnie inside. What surprised him though -even if it shouldn't have- was her looking right at the camera with a sick grin on her face.

'I would have dismissed them as crazy before, but now I can't continue thinking that way. I just feel sorry for them at this point. They are starting to look less terrifying now, and instead more pathetic. Desperate. They are lost within their own hate for the way they've been treated, stuck in a world of vengeance. They keep killing in the hope of feeling better if they have their revenge. It's a miserable living… shit, I forgot to check on Chica'

He switched to the dining area, but now it was empty.

'Should've known she would have moved by now'

He clicked from camera to camera, finding her near the restrooms.

'Still quite far away. I should write down when I have time their movement patterns. What paths they take. I'm sure it will be useful later on'

He shut down the tablet for a few minutes then turned it on again and switched to the storage closet. As he expected, Bonnie was missing.

{3:30 AM}

'She should be near my door now. I have to get ready. She looks dangerous. They all do, but I have a bad feeling about her'

With a sigh, he pushed the white button and waited. A bright light stabbed through the darkness and cast a white glow on his face. The hallway was perfectly visible now. She wasn't there. He waited for a few more seconds, but nothing happened. Not even a sound.

'Well that's weird' he thought, concerned and slightly weary. 'Maybe she's just waiting for the right moment to kill me?'

He waited a bit more then shut off the light. It was clear she wouldn't show up any time soon.

Confused, he turned on the tablet again. The hallway was still empty. And then he noticed 2 cameras which he hadn't paid much attention to before. And they were behind his office.

He clicked on the left one and froze when he saw Bonnie there. The implications behind that were baffling and terrifying.

'She walked right by my office and I didn't notice!? How!? I didn't hear a God-damn thing! And she just… chose to not enter!? Why? The opportunity was right there! What is she planning?'

Bonnie seemed to know what he was thinking and only gave a laugh in response. He shuddered when he heard her laugh echo its way into his office.

'They are unfortunate, confused victims, but dangerous nonetheless. I need to remember that'

He and her had a stare down through the screen, neither moving an inch.

'This is it. I partly didn't want this moment to come. I partly wanted to just get through tonight without encountering any of them. But then my chances of befriending them might lower. Like it or not, I have to do this'

'The screen was covered in static slightly as Bonnie took a step forward. And then another step. Her back wasn't visible anymore.

Hesitantly, Colin shut down the tablet. He waited for a few seconds, then with bated breath reached his shaking hand towards the white button. And it made contact…

The harsh white glow of the light seemed to drip down on the dark blue-purple figure, illuminating every inch of her back and creating a sexy but terrifying silhouette of a demonic bunny. She was leaning forward, so the light only hit her back, casting a void-like shadow over her face. Her eyes were mere white circles somehow looking dead and cold.

Snapping out of his daze, Colin slapped the red button causing the blast door to plummet and embed itself into the tiles below, its crash against the ground ringing loudly throughout the office. Somehow, the sound made him feel more safe, more secure.

He let out a breath he wasn't aware he was holding until now and leaned back in his chair reaching his hands toward his head and placing them on the top. His heartbeat started to slow down and his muscles relaxed.

'I'm safe now. I'm ok'

He gave a sigh then thought about the way he should go about this, and what words to use. He knew this would be a difficult challenge, but he wasn't about to give up. He closed his eyes and started contemplating.
