This chapter might be a long one. So please bear with me. Anyways, enjoy!
After what seemed like an eternity, Beast Boy stirred from his painful sleep. His head throbbed, as if it had been hit by a jackhammer multiple times. The surroundings he was in were filled with pitch-black darkness, making it impossible for him to determine the exact location or the state of the room he was locked in.
For a while, he tried to move, but to no avail. He was chained up from both arms, the torso, and both legs, and was sitting in a metal chair that had been bolted to the floor. He tried to transform, but he couldn't. Apart from the pain coming from his head, something else was preventing him from transforming.
Panic starts to creep into Beast Boy's mind as he doesn't know what to do at this point. Perhaps if he hadn't said that in front of her, he would have never ended up tied up in the first place.
As he was on the verge of having a panic attack, he heard someone unlocking the door. It's her, he thought. This doubled his anxiety and he didn't know what would happen next. After a moment, the door opened, letting in a small amount of light illuminate the room a bit, and there she was, smiling at him while carrying a tray with his favorite tofu burger and a glass of soy milk.
"Oh, you're finally awake, Gar!" she exclaimed in a sweet and cheerful manner as she put the tray on the top of the bookshelf beside the door and started stepping closer to him. She may look nice and innocent on the outside, but Beast Boy knows that she's not acting like herself. Raven was never this nice or innocent. She should be the epitome of beauty, wit, and grace, something that he loves dearly. But seeing her like this, acting like a lovesick maiden filled with insanity and madness, makes him feel different emotions inside of his mind, and all of them are not the positive ones.
As he was preoccupied with his thoughts, he didn't notice that she was already standing face-to-face with him, looking straight into his eyes. From her cold, yet bloodied fingertips, he came back to his senses and started trembling tremendously. Sweat formed on his body, and he struggled to keep himself together, or else he would have peed in his pants; that was the least of his concerns.
"You look so cute when you're so scared. It makes me want to hug you nice and tight." Her weirdly sweet voice, along with her soft yet eerie giggles, sent shivers down all parts of his body. She kept looking at his eyes, studying his every feature she could see, which was quite difficult since there was only minimal light coming from the open door behind her. Beast Boy was now terrified, and at this point, he had to do something to either get her back to her senses or escape if the first option didn't work.
"Why are you doing this, Raven? How could you-" He was about to question her motives when she silenced him with her index finger.
"You don't have to think about the details, my lovely Gar. I'm the only person that you need or else...," she says in a sinister tone. "You'll not gonna like what I will do to you." She threatens and later, her expression turns back to sweet yet eerie ones. "Let me get your food first." She says, turning around and walking to the tray from earlier.
As she prepares the food, Beast Boy can't help but wonder where they currently are because of his fear and the uncertainty of the place they're both in.
"Will you, at least, tell me where we are right now?" He asked, still terrified of the answer he might hear. She then stopped preparing his food and turned around to face him, still wearing this sweet yet psychotic smile on her face. "Oh, I'm glad to show you where we are, Gar. Actually, I've been hesitant if you'd like this place or not, but I know you'll like it eventually. Anyways, we are in my own room!" she replied, ecstatic to reveal what's inside the room as she flicked her fingers and all of the candles lit up. What Beastboy saw was beyond his comprehension, even harder than his reading skills.
The walls are covered from top to bottom with his pictures, stacked together like a collage. In some places, there are sweet messages written on them, such as 'Together Forever', 'I Love You!' and 'We're meant for each other'. The font used is not jarring or creepy. However, there are also pictures of him with other people or even himself, which have been either smudged out or replaced with cutouts of her and heart-shaped drawings.
Other than the pictures, there are also other items around, such as teddy bears of his image in different sizes, a set of his spandex uniform, and other items that belonged to him, which he had lost for no reason. But what shocked him the most was that the giant white chicken stuffed toy and a gold coin he had given to her were also there, on an altar-like wooden stand with a heart-framed picture of Beast Boy in the center.
Beast Boy crept forward, peering into the room and discovering what lay within. He wanted to close his eyes and hope it was all just a nightmare, but it was in vain.
"So... do you like it?" Raven asks, clasping her hands together like a little girl showing her drawing to her father. Beastboy is still speechless, not even sure where to start. First, he's sure this isn't her room. From his daily invasions inside her room for either his pranks or just checking her out, this is way opposite from what her room usually looked like. Second, what's the deal with the sea of pictures and scribbles on the walls? He's not even sure whether to be flattered or terrified by the sight.
"~Oh, come on. Don't be shy. I know you like it.~" She suddenly came closer to him and gave him an endearing and loving look, which was way unnatural for a girl like her.
He asked, still too terrified to look at her. She moved back and started walking around him slowly.
"Well... I have a lot of resources, so it's easy for me to get what I want. Pictures are easy to get. All I need to do is to either set up the small cameras to the places you usually go or ask Cyborg for photos of you. For the stuffed animals, I started stitching and sewing a few years ago. I bought the materials whenever I purchased my books. It was hard at first, but I was able to learn it and get used to it. Finally, your lovely possessions... those were the hardest to get. In order to get that, I needed to learn your daily schedules, your usual habits, and everything else that I might miss. That includes your bedtime schedule, your heightened senses, your abilities, everything!" she explained as she suddenly went in front of him and whispered into his ear. "So that means I know every single thing about you and I love it. Your life is my life after all. That's why I will do absolutely everything so that no pests and bimbos would harm you or lead you astray."
Her body starts to tremble as she moves back a few feet and caresses her cheeks with her hands, mirroring Yuno Gasai's signature yandere look from episode one of her show. "~I will always protect you, Gar!" Her smile is now tainted with lust and adoration; her eyes start to light up and form heart-shaped irises.
"RAVEN, SNAP OUT OF IT! THIS ISN'T YOU!" He suddenly blurts out. He doesn't know why, but he feels compelled to say something.
"I know, and I regret acting like such a big dummy to you in the past. I had to do that because my powers were getting out of control due to my emotions. But it wasn't worth it when you weren't even looking at me anymore. So I promise I won't ever hurt you again." She then got his food and started feeding him. "Now let me feed you. Say ahhh..."
"Raven, please! Stop this! I don't want this anymo-" he was then interrupted by the tofu burger being shoved into his mouth. He tried to chew it as much as he could, but it took him some time.
"~How is it? Is it delicious? I made that myself!~" she proudly said as she continued to watch him chewing while muffling with intimacy. The tofu burger was huge; he couldn't help but cough up the remaining bits of the food. "~Oh no! Let me help you!" she exclaimed, quickly grabbing the soy milk and helping him drink. After a while, he was finally able to breathe normally again.
"Let's stop this nonsense, Raven! This isn't even funny anymore!"
"Why? I'm not messing with you. I just want us to wor-"
"WELL, IT'S OBVIOUS IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK, RAVEN! YOU KILLED EVERY GIRL OUT THERE AND WHAT'S WORSE, YOU EVEN KILLED OUR FRIENDS! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS! BECAUSE OF THAT, I LOST EVERYTHING I CARED FOR! FOR THAT, I HATE YOU AND I WILL NEVER, EVER FORGIVE YOU...EVEN IF I AM DEAD! GO TO HELL LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO!"
At this point, Raven was stunned by what she had just heard. Her body shook and her legs were almost giving out.
"No. My Gar will not say that. He will not hate me. I know he won't." She then grabbed her head, eyes becoming dilated and twitching left and right, followed by tears streaming down her face. Just then, the area around them was engulfed in black energy, and they were tossed about like a tornado passing through a house. She collapsed to the floor, her sanity once again on the verge of crumbling.
"Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies!Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies!"
Just then, the bolts on the legs of the metal chair were loosened and the chains around him were undone. He was immediately freed and ran away as quickly as he could. He managed to reach the door and exited the room.
"Finally! I'm free," he thought as he stepped out of the room. His happy expression quickly turned to dread. Everywhere he looked, there were just rocks and boulders. The sky was a reddish-black color, filled with stars, and the crows with four red eyes circled above, giving him both eerie and familiar feelings. After all, he knew this place; he had been here with his friend Cyborg.
The Nevermore.
If his assumption is correct, then that means they are also around. Just as he is preoccupied with thoughts, a hand suddenly grabs his shoulder, startling him with the sudden touch. He hesitates to look around and see who it is, but the figure behind him starts to speak.
"Why? Why are you hating me? Please don't hate me!" the gray-cloaked doppelganger whispered through tears, her hands clutching at his neck. "Please! Don't hate me! You're the only one I have."
Beast Boy tried to escape by grabbing her arms, but they were too weak for him to remove them. He then shifted into a snake, which worked this time, and went away from her. He transformed back when he was met by another one.
"BB! You're here to see me, right?" The twin in the pink cloak excitedly asked, her creepy smile stretching from ear to ear. "Come on, let's play house!"
He backed away from her to avoid confrontation, only to encounter another one.
"Hey! Don't be such a wimp! I know you love me lots!" The green-cloaked one shouted.
He backed away again, surrounded by the other emotions.
"Back off, mongrels! This trash is mine!" The orange-cloaked girl rudely barged into the commotion.
"No way! This hot stud is mine!" The pinkish-purple-cloaked girl seductively licks her lips at him.
"According to my sources, this lovely specimen belongs to me!" The woman in the yellow cloak exclaimed as she pushed up her glasses.
"HAH, YOU FOOLS! ONLY I, THE ONLY DAUGHTER OF TRIGON THE TERRIBLE, CLAIM HIM AS MY BOUNTIFUL POSSESSION!" A red-cloaked girl screeched, looking at her prize with her four eyes.
There's no escape. He is surrounded by her emotions, claiming him as theirs. Beast Boy slumped to the floor; his hope had been lost. Whatever he did now would only intensify the level of danger he faced. At that moment, he slumped to the floor, completely giving up and contemplating his years with his friends, with her.
"Settle down, everyone. This won't end if we end up fighting each other." Raven steps in, making her doppelgangers stop arguing and look at her. "Let's not be hasty here. We can share him as much as we want. I know he'll never leave us at all." she said, carrying this sweet yet creepy voice in it. She then crawled down beside him and gave him a hug.
"You don't have to run away anymore. We are here to be with you whether you like it or not. Forever and ever!" Her voice gets darker as her hug tightens.
He looked at her and the other emotions, then regretted doing so. Her eyes lost their vibrancy, and her smile became more creepy as she continued to grin.
"I love you, always and forever!" she proclaimed her love before going in for a kiss. A kiss that would burn into his retinas and remain etched on his mind, even after his death. He lost the will to live, only able to see her frightening smile before losing consciousness.
