On Today's Episode: The chase continues as the spies battle Quivers and Schram across the country, eventually returning to Washington D.C. to explore their secret lair and figure out what exactly they have waiting in the wings. A lot of tricks and traps await, but with Henya's assistance, they have a better chance than usual. What exactly are Quivers and Schram planning, and what does it have to do with the former president?
Act 2: Election Period
6:17 P.M. – Grand Rapids, Michigan
The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum
"You've got some nerve going after a president, you clucks!" Haruka exclaimed as the villains advanced on them.
"Oh, why don't you tell it to someone who cares?" Quivers complained.
"That's exactly what we plan to do!" Clover proclaimed.
"And I'll bet James would laugh at how you failed miserably, too!" Bridget proclaimed.
"On the contrary, he'll praise us, I'm sure," Lenore sneered.
The spies then heard some rumbling.
"Wait, what the heck is that?!" Britney chastised.
"Don't worry, I've got this one," Henya quipped.
"We trust you then," Mat remarked.
"And what exactly can the rummage sale reject do?" Lenore scoffed.
"Oh, you want to see all the cool things I can do with my Wondercube?" Henya taunted. "Breaking those two out of their pool prison was only the bottom of the mountain."
"That is what we're asking, yes," Quivers retorted.
"All right, then, don't say I didn't warn you," Henya quipped.
"You want your asses kicked, you got it then..." Blaine added.
"Let's dance, then, shall we?" Quivers chuckled as she advanced threateningly on Henya. In response, Henya simply waved her Wondercube and unleashed a bright flash of light that drove Quivers backwards.
Though Lenore tried to take advantage of the flash to move undetected, Henya simply jumped over her and swung her Wondercube downwards, unleashing a pressure wave that sent both villains crashing to the ground.
"Oh, I'm just getting started," Henya chuckled.
As Quivers picked herself up, she jumped backwards and landed on a spider-shaped robot much like the one she'd used to kidnap Madison so long ago.
"Of course you'd bring that thing out," Alex groaned. "At least it's a regular spider bot and not another Kumonga..."
"Try and stop me now, you little punks!" Quivers laughed.
Quivers would quickly have to eat her own words, though, when May slipped in closer, summoned her anchor to her hands, and swung it hard enough to crumple one of the spider-bot's legs, causing it to topple over and send Quivers crashing back to the ground.
"You will learn to fear the anchor," May chuckled.
"Oh, don't think I've forgotten that savage beating you laid on me last time, little pirate girl," Quivers taunted.
"Oh, lady, you brought that on yourself," May retorted. "You're the one who tried to destroy my hometown when I was in a really sour mood, so why don't you go and suck on those expired eggs?"
"...huh. That's an image," Henya quipped.
"Oh, you say that, too?" Nozomi giggled.
"You wouldn't dare hit someone like me with that, would you?" Quivers laughed, only to be sent sprawling by another anchor swing.
"I know you've got body armor on underneath that thing," May shot back.
"Eh, it was worth a shot," Quivers quipped as she jumped back onto her spider-bot as it picked itself back up.
Meanwhile, Lenore was throwing multiple smoke bombs to obscure the spies' vision so she could sneak in and attack, but Nick quickly resolved that by flying forward slightly and unleashing a psychic pulse all around him to blow the smoke away.
"Nice try," Nick taunted before knocking Lenore back with a forward pulse.
The spider-bot marched all over the immediate area, covering many things in sticky spider webs to keep the spies from advancing, until Alex got caught up in a web while trying to dodge away from it.
"Oh, did you run out of luck?" Quivers laughed as the spider-bot advanced on Alex.
Henya answered by raising her Wondercube and absorbing the webs trapping Alex into it, then turning towards Quivers and expelling the webs to trap the villain in place instead.
"Wow, that was cool, Henya!" Alex laughed. "Is that something your Wondercube can do, too?"
"One of many amazing things," Henya giggled. "I can absorb certain attacks and send them right back at them. That's what I did earlier, since I used the ice I absorbed from that dome thing to send them flying."
While Quivers attempted to break free of her own webbing, Nick put the spider-bot out of its misery by firing a Final Shine Attack and sweeping it across the ground to destroy the spider-bot's remaining legs, causing the machine's body to once again topple over and send Quivers rolling.
"And that's how the robot is disassembled," Nick taunted.
"You wanna just give it up now, for your own good if nothing else?!" Mat proclaimed.
"Oh, but we're just getting started, dearie," Lenore cackled as she and Quivers decided to retreat for the moment.
"Yeah, that's starting to get old real fast," Sam noted.
"Never fear, spies, RiCO is on the case!" RiCO responded, displaying a map on Sam's X-Powder screen. "It looks like they're heading towards the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in California."
"That's the second president-related place they're trying to hide in," Mat quipped. "What, exactly, is their game here?"
"Hopefully it won't be too long until we can figure that out," Nick responded as their Skyskimmer parked nearby. "Let's get moving, everyone!"
7:11 P.M. – Simi Valley, California
Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum
Everything seemed to be peaceful when the spies touched down, though they knew better than to think it would stay peaceful.
"All right, everyone, let's keep an eye out," Sam quipped.
"Speaking of keeping an eye out," Nozomi stated. "Is there anyone we should keep an eye out for when it comes to you, Henya? Like, maybe those guys from the Society?"
"I'm pretty sure I hopped through enough hyperdimensional pockets to keep them off my tail for a long time," Henya admitted before activating her Wondercube. "But just in case, these are what the Society's goons look like."
Nick held up his X-Powder so RiCO could scan the image being projected from Henya's Wondercube, that of a trio of goons wearing blindingly white jumpsuits and marching in some kind of robotic lockstep.
"Never hurts to stay prepared," Nick quipped. "Advice for heroes, number thirty-five: always have at least three backup plans to fall back on."
As the spies all entered the museum to search for answers, Henya couldn't help but sift through other images she had stored in her Wondercube, mostly images of her friends, the ones she'd been forced to leave behind in her escape from the Society.
"Friends of yours?" Nick asked when he noticed the images.
"Yeah, other friends I made back at the Society," Henya answered. "Most of them don't really know what Decimus has planned for them, and the ones that do aren't really in any position to escape like I did. In fact, the only reason I was able to escape like I did is thanks to my Wondercube..."
"The power to open untraceable portals between reality sounds very useful indeed," Nick quipped before reaching out to pat Henya on the shoulder. "Hey, we'll get your friends out of there sooner or later. That's a promise, and if you know enough about us, then you know that I never break a promise."
Henya smiled at that as the spies began to explore the museum.
"I never knew such a place existed," Mat replied.
"One of the benefits of seeing the world," Melissa quipped.
"No doubt," Haruka added.
"Personally, I hope they didn't leave out a section where Reagan was shot by John Hinkley," Mat commented. "Even if Hinkley was acquitted."
"How do you know about that?" Blaine wondered.
"Only one place... Jeopardy!" Mat chuckled.
"I called it," Nick laughed.
Sam seemed to know that fact from the get-go, but she still chuckled over Mat's actions since that's what made him who he was.
"Anyway, we better find those two femme fatales before things get even worse," Dawn replied.
"And we also know that Henya can be a useful ally for us, too," Bridget pointed out.
Nick used his psychic radar to try and sniff out where Mrs. Quivers and Lenore von Schram had gotten to.
"Find anything yet?" May asked.
"I'm not getting anything yet," Nick answered.
After looking around some more, Nick's radar began to ping.
"They have to be nearby!" Nick exclaimed to the spy team.
"You mentioned backup plans... maybe we should concoct one in case they're after Henya," Mat suggested. "Or do we have that already?"
"No, that's a good idea," May commented.
"Just defend her whenever there's trouble for now," Clover deduced.
"The operative words being 'for now,'" Nozomi quipped.
Alex then looked at other photos of President Reagan when she noticed the eyes on one portrait had blinked.
"Uh, guys, I think they're watching us," Alex shivered.
"Probably trying to sneak attack on us with the oldest trick in the book," Haruka groaned. "But we're better than that!"
"I guess there's a good reason why some museums are closed at night," Britney commented.
"We can't let this stand in our way, though," Nick remarked.
"And we won't," Henya stated. "In fact, I think I can sniff out those two fogeys and ruin their supposed sneak attack..."
She then got set to use her Wondercube.
"Henya, you sure?" Mat asked. "I wouldn't want to be you if these portraits get ruined..."
"No worries, Mat," Henya quipped. "My Wondercube is programmed to not cause a location to get completely ruined, nor would it cost me a lot of money in damages."
She just tossed it on the floor, and an explosion was heard. It was enough to send Lenore and Mrs. Quivers out of hiding and land flat on their backs.
"Told ya I could sniff ya out!" Henya proclaimed.
"So what... we're still going to beat you..." Quivers sneered and snapped her fingers.
That was when Sam felt someone touch her inappropriately.
Nick knew what was going on and was quick to react, reaching out to psychically grab the mook that had tried to grope Sam and sending him flying backwards.
"No inappropriate touchy-touchy on my watch, mook boy," Nick taunted.
A bunch of mooks surrounded the spies as they all prepared to throw down.
"Let's get going, shall we?" Bridget quipped as she reached for her brooch. "Sonic Mode, online!"
A trio of mooks attempted to pounce on Bridget before she finished transforming, but she had already done so and blitzed forward to send the mooks flying.
Not finished yet, Bridget spun around and lunged back to where she'd come from to grab Quivers and Lenore by the shirt collars and toss them towards the rest of the spies.
"Well? Anything to say for yourselves?" May taunted, hefting her anchor on her shoulder.
Henya didn't wait for a response, aiming her Wondercube for the two villains and unleashing a bright flare of light to wrap both of them in chains of light.
"Don't need to answer that, by the way," Henya chuckled.
As Quivers and Lenore attempted to free themselves from the chains, Nick stepped forward and fired a Final Shine Attack that sent both of the villains sprawling.
"Everyone, jump!" Nick exclaimed.
All of the spies, Henya included, jumped into the air just as Nick slammed his hand into the ground to unleash a Zero Gravity that sent Quivers, Lenore, and their mooks helplessly floating into the air.
"Let us down, you little brat!" Lenore shouted.
In response, Nick snapped his fingers to undo the Zero Gravity, sending everyone affected by it crashing back to the ground in an ungainly tumble.
"Well, she did ask for it," Nick quipped.
"Now why don't you just beat it before I have to bust out my anchor?" May taunted.
"You wouldn't dare hit someone like me, would you?" Quivers laughed, only to eat her own words when May struck with her anchor and sent Quivers sprawling.
"I tried to warn you," May sighed.
"Damn it, Quivers, this isn't working!" Lenore growled.
"We're just getting started," Quivers quipped. "So sorry, spies, but we'll have to play with you another time. We have things to be doing, after all."
With that, Quivers and Lenore decided to make their escape.
"Do they like to escape when you're clearly kicking their butts?" Henya wondered.
"Sadly, yes they do," Haruka sighed. "It just means we have to keep chasing them and making already long capers even longer."
"Well, at least you won't be flying blind," RiCO answered, displaying a GPS tracker signal on Nick's X-Powder. "I'm getting a reading from somewhere near Mount Rushmore."
"Okay, that makes a lot of sense," Britney quipped.
"Well, then, let's get over there and take care of business, shall we?" Nozomi exclaimed.
9:07 P.M. – Keystone, South Dakota
Mount Rushmore National Memorial
"Nothing looks out of the ordinary," Sam stated when the spies all touched down on Mount Rushmore. "That's a good sign, I hope."
"Their secret place has to be around here somewhere," Blaine stated. "Let's start looking."
Henya was already sniffing out the trail, using her Wondercube to detect any strange anomalies in the area. Eventually, she found something interesting inside Washington's ear, and the spies followed her inside as she led them to a strangely out-of-place rock.
Nick psychically moved the rock aside to reveal a steel door.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have hit paydirt," Nick quipped.
"Guess that's our way into their secret lair," Melissa stated.
All of the spies stepped into the elevator, and it began to descend further and further down.
"Jeez, how deep does this thing go?" Alex asked.
"To be fair, Alex, this is a pretty big mountain," Sam answered.
"...okay, point," Alex sighed.
Eventually, the elevator finally stopped and opened up again, allowing the spies to exit the elevator and enter Quivers' secret lair, which resembled the presidential museums they'd already explored mixed with a futuristic layout of computers and screens.
"Okay, that definitely clashes," Clover stated matter-of-factly.
"Let's keep moving and see if we can find anything about what their plan is," Nick responded. "It's gotta be somewhere here in this mess."
As the spies began to explore the facility, Henya punched something into her Wondercube and held it up to project an image of one of her friends back at the Society. Melody would have loved this place, given how much she loved computers and science.
Henya shook her head to clear those worries out of her mind for the moment. She'd be back to help her friends soon enough.
The spies turned a corner, only to see a larger computer screen displaying data on something strange.
"Huh, that looks like it'd be suspicious," Dawn noted. "Can you analyze it for us, RiCO?"
"Say no more," RiCO proclaimed, doing her thing and hacking into the computers to see what the villains were possibly planning. "Okay, this looks like schematics for some kind of machine based on past presidents."
"Is that why they were hiding out in presidential museums?" Bridget asked. "And why they kidnapped Madison's father?"
"I've got a feeling that it goes a little deeper than that," Nick responded. "I see data about artificial voice recordings, too..."
"Oof, that doesn't look like anything pleasant," Alex noted. "If they're trying to replicate someone's voice, think of the implications..."
"Yeah, I wouldn't want some machine basically making me say things I would never say in real life," May admitted. "That's a scary thought."
"Well, it looks like we've got all we can get from this terminal," Sam stated. "Let's keep going."
"Sounds like it might be vulgar comments that people don't want to hear," Mat deduced.
"That's when A.I.s can be bad to the bone!" Blaine exclaimed.
"And that's treatment nobody deserves, no matter how nasty they can be," Nick chimed in.
"Absolutely!" Melissa exclaimed.
"Hopefully Lenore and Mrs. Quivers are still here..." May replied.
"They should be close," Nick remarked.
"Just stay alert in case of a sneak attack," Sam told the others.
"So, is Lenore von Schram a lunatic or a highly misguided moron?" Haruka asked the others.
"I think we'll leave that to the powers that be," May sighed.
"It's one thing to watch a show religiously, but to think it's real life... that's going too far," Britney commented.
"Totally," Alex remarked.
The spies then heard derogatory comments from who-knew-where that came at them like wildfire.
"Where're they coming from?!" Dawn chastised.
"I don't see a loudspeaker or any of the sorts anywhere..." May told them.
"If that's their way of trying to scare us off, they'll have to do better than that," Nozomi scoffed.
"Ah, something tells me that's just a prelude or an appetizer if we're talking about a meal at a restaurant," Sam deduced.
"So, do we split up again, or stick together?" Mat wondered.
"No way, we should stick together," Haruka emphasized.
Before long, the spies could hear the derogatory comments getting louder and louder.
"I know where it's coming from," Nick told the others.
He looked into another room to see a stereo system that was plugged into an outlet nearby.
Much to their surprise, the entryway was then blocked by an automatic sliding door.
"Crapbaskets... this must've been a trap!" Bridget exclaimed.
That was when a strange liquid came gushing in from who-knew-where as well.
"What's all this?!" Mat chastised.
"I don't know, but we better think of something fast!" Blaine emphasized.
"Allow me, then," Henya quipped as she raised her Wondercube above her, the cube's lines glowing brightly as all of the liquid that was filling the room was sucked out of its source and absorbed into the Wondercube.
"We are so lucky that your cube can do all of that cool stuff, Henya," Alex chuckled.
"My friends say that all the time," Henya giggled.
"Now allow me to make us an exit," Nick quipped as he fired a Final Shine Attack into the sliding door that had trapped them in here, blasting it clean off of its hinges and allowing them all to shuffle out of the room and back into the rest of the lair.
"That was a close one," Blaine admitted. "That probably would have been pretty bad if Henya hadn't saved our butts."
As the spies turned a corner towards another data center, they heard another blast of derogatory comments from nearby.
"Oh, not this time," Nick stated. "We've already fallen into that kind of trap, and once per caper is enough for me, thank you very much."
Nick glanced around the corner towards the area where these voices were coming from, and he saw another stereo system in the room. Nick raised his hand to blast the stereo system with another Final Shine Attack, causing the room door to slide shut. Suddenly, the sound in that room got very loud, no doubt due to that room's trap.
"Oof, am I glad we weren't in the middle of that one," Bridget quipped.
"How many stinkin' traps do these nuts have in their lair, for crying out loud?!" Clover exclaimed.
Almost as soon as Clover had said that, laser cannons unfolded from the ceiling and started firing on the spies.
"And for that matter, why does our luck suck half the time?!" Clover exclaimed.
Henya acted fast, raising her Wondercube and expelling some of the strange green liquid that had tried to trap them earlier onto the laser cannons, jamming them long enough for May to toss her anchor like a javelin and destroy the lasers.
"Yeah, we can take whatever nonsense you've got in store, ladies," May taunted. "So why don't you just get your wrinkly keesters out here so we can kick 'em a few times?!"
A door flew open from a nearby wall, and both Quivers and Lenore emerged to greet the spies.
"Well, if you insist," Quivers chuckled.
"I don't know how you escaped both of our patented traps, but you won't be escaping from us!" Lenore laughed.
"Oh, is that a fact?!" Alex taunted. "Maybe you need to snap yourself back to reality and look at everything we've accomplished! Do you really think it's going to end well for you if you keep this up?!"
Suddenly, a large metal spider robot snuck up behind the group, snatched up both Alex and Britney with its multiple legs, and scurried off with its captives before the others could really process what had just happened.
"If we do something like that, then yes, we will," Quivers taunted.
"This is the only warning I'm going to give you, lady," Nick growled, aiming his glowing right hand for Quivers. "Give them back this instant before I decide to hurt you. And you do not want that."
"Sorry, little brat, but would you rather cave our faces in or focus on saving the girl you love?" Lenore quipped. "After all, who knows what kind of dastardly trap they're being ferried into as we speak?"
May slammed her anchor down right in front of Lenore, sending her scrambling backwards and forcing both villains to retreat for the moment.
"That's what I thought," May retorted.
"I should have known they'd try something like that," Sam stated. "RiCO, can you track their X-Powder signals for us?"
"No problem," RiCO answered, displaying a map of the facility on Sam's X-Powder that eventually focused on two blinking lights. "Their signal is coming from the southwest of here."
"Then let's hurry, everyone!" Melissa exclaimed.
The spies all darted off in the direction of the signal, only to be stopped by a platoon of mooks that were guarding the only way through to wherever Alex and Britney were being held.
"Move it!" Mat exclaimed.
"Sorry, punk, we ain't moving," one mook cackled.
Before Nick could blast his way through, Henya stepped up, using her Wondercube to conjure a large phantasmal bowling ball almost as big as herself, though she wielded it with ease.
Henya took a step back before rolling the ball down the hallway, sending the mooks flying every which way when it collided with them.
"STRIKE!" Nozomi exclaimed.
Sadly, another platoon of mooks crowded into the next hallway to bar the spies' way.
But Nick had finally lost what little patience he had left, his aura flaring to life around him.
"I'm not going to say it again," Nick growled. "Get the hell out of our way!"
Nick raised his hand and blasted the mooks away with a large psychic pulse, allowing the spies to keep moving.
The spies ran as fast as they could, hoping they could save Alex and Britney before it was too late.
"I never thought she'd keep that spider bot!" Mat exclaimed.
"Something tells me she kept that thing stored away somewhere," Sam told Mat.
"For a spider, that thing moves lightning fast..." Blaine chastised.
"No doubt it does," Bridget remarked. "But I can move faster!"
Unfortunately for Bridget, the spider robot seemed to know that she was trying to use Sonic Mode and fired shots to prevent her from using it.
"So, that's how you wanna play, eh?" Clover groaned. "Two can play this game!"
She got out her Laser Lipstick while they were running and fired some shots at the spider robot.
"Hopefully we can get them out from under there," Haruka proclaimed.
"Maybe we can..." Sam stated as she got out the Boomerang Buzzsaw Barrette. "I got an idea."
"Good thinking, Sammy," Clover quipped.
Sam hurled the Boomerang Buzzsaw Barrette at the Spider Robot's underbelly to free Alex and Britney. But the Spider Robot saw that coming and fired a shot to stop the BBB dead in its tracks.
"Crapbaskets!" Sam exclaimed as she recovered it on the way.
"There's no way we can cut it off at this rate!" Melissa added. "It always knew when Bridget wanted to use Sonic Mode!"
"You know what they say... persistence pays off," Bridget quipped. "And I'm not giving in. I just needed a little backup the first time around..."
"I'll give you some backup," Nick told Bridget as he flew towards the spider robot and started dashing around it to draw its attention away.
After a couple seconds of this, the spider robot fired a laser blast towards Bridget, but Nick projected a psychic barrier to block the shot and give Bridget her chance.
"It's all you, Bridget!" Nick exclaimed.
"Thanks, Nick," Bridget stated. "Sonic Mode, online!"
Everybody gathered around and Bridget kicked up the juice. In a matter of seconds, they caught up to the Spider Robot.
"Let's see how they'll handle this..." Nick remarked as he uncorked a psychic shot at the Spider Robot.
The shot ricocheted off the Spider Robot, and it kept on going.
"Say what?!" Mat chastised.
"Keep the speed up, Bridget!" Haruka emphasized.
"That shouldn't be a problem," Bridget quipped.
"Should we try to free them or wait?" Melissa wondered. "Maybe we can see where it's taking Alex and Britney to."
"I just thought of that myself," Sam laughed.
For the time being, Bridget just dodged every shot that the Spider Robot tried to unleash on the spies. Eventually, it ran out of ammo.
"Maybe we can try the Platinum Credit Card..." Clover suggested.
"I think I got one shot in me," Mat stated as he used the Laser Chapstick.
Just before the Spider Robot could get to Lenore and Mrs. Quivers, Mat fired his shot underneath; it was a perfect hit, and Alex and Britney fell to the floor.
"NO!" Mrs. Quivers shouted.
"I've got a Plan B for these meddlesome people!" Lenore growled, using her machine gun directly on them.
"Never ever want to do it the easy way, eh..." Dawn groaned.
("Last Strike" by Lyn Inaizumi plays)
Some of the spies used the Cashmere Deflector Shield to protect them.
"Since you threw the first punch, take THIS then!" Sam exclaimed as she threw some Incendiary Earrings directly at the two villainesses.
Though the earrings exploded on the spider robot's legs, it didn't seem to slow it down.
"All right, this is getting old," Sam groaned.
"I've got an idea," Henya quipped as she jumped into the air, leapfrogging off of Sam's shoulders to get the height she needed to sail over the spider robot and land in front of it.
Before Quivers and Lenore could get the robot to stop, Henya swung her Wondercube to send out a wave of icicles that struck the ground in front of the robot and created a sheet of ice. The robot couldn't stop in time and slipped on the ice, sending it careening into a nearby wall.
Alex and Britney quickly picked themselves up just as the spider robot did the same.
"All right, ladies, that was a dirty trick you just pulled," Alex proclaimed. "Britney, you wanna tag-team 'em for that one?"
"Oh, you know it," Britney quipped as she and Alex charged towards the spider robot.
"Um, what part of machine gun isn't registering?!" Lenore laughed as she aimed said machine gun for Alex and Britney, only for Nick to leap into the air and blast the gun into scrap with a Final Shine Attack.
"There," Nick taunted. "Now please go ahead and wail on them, sweetheart."
"By all means," Alex laughed as she and Britney jumped through the air to land on top of the spider robot.
While all of this was happening, May rushed in, her anchor already in her hands, and swung at the spider robot's legs to knock it off balance.
Alex and Britney rushed forward and shoulder-tackled both villains off of the spider robot so that the rest of the spies could safely assemble the Vortex Blaster.
Sam started first, producing an Electromagnetic Curling Iron and tossing it to Nick. Alex followed up with a Laser Lipstick and a Cyclone Blast Hairdryer. Nick connected the Laser Lipstick right above the barrel of the Electromagnetic Curling Iron, and the Cyclone Blast Hairdryer on top of the ECM, just behind the control panel. Clover finished by throwing Nick a Helicopter Hand Fan and a pair of wings from a spare Jetpack Backpack. Nick attached the Helicopter Hand Fan to the underside of the ECM's barrel, then placed the wings on either side of the ECM.
The combination weapon now complete, Sam, Alex, and Clover joined Nick to hold the weapon, Sam and Alex holding the jetpack wings, Clover grasping the side handle and Nick holding the main handle, his finger on the firing trigger.
"Ooh, that's cool," Henya giggled.
"Kinda figured you'd like it, Henya," Alex chuckled. "Now let's blast this bot back to the scrap heap!"
"FIRE!" the four of them shouted together as Nick pulled the firing trigger.
The blades of the Helicopter Hand Fan extended outward and started spinning rapidly. Nick pulled the trigger again, and the Electromagnetic Curling Iron, the Laser Lipstick, and the Cyclone Blast Hairdryer all fired their payload into the spinning blades. Two seconds later, the Vortex Blaster unleashed a massive four-way blast consisting of a large electromagnetic beam surrounded by a spiraling wind blast and a barrage of laser bolts.
The blast screamed through the empty air of the lair and collided with the spider robot before exploding in spectacular fashion, completely eviscerating the robot in the process.
"And there we go, one more robot trashed," Clover quipped.
"Oh, you really think we're done yet?" Quivers chuckled as she reached for a device in her pocket.
"We haven't even revealed our trump card yet," Lenore laughed. "And when we do, you'll wish you'd never crossed us."
A large metal pipe descended from the ceiling and sucked Quivers and Lenore into it, and the instant they were gone, the lair began to shake and rumble.
"Oh, wonderful, is the place self-destructing?!" Mat shouted.
"Actually, their trump card is preparing to launch," RiCO responded from Sam's X-Powder. "You guys might wanna hurry and get back to the surface!"
"But how long is that gonna take if they're already launching?!" Blaine gasped.
"Oh, I can take care of that," Henya quipped as she activated her Wondercube to open a hyperdimensional pocket in front of the spies that led back outside.
"The Wondercube comes through once again," Nick chuckled. "All right, everyone, let's motor!"
The spies all followed Henya through the pocket so they could head outside and stop whatever Quivers and Lenore were planning to do.
To be concluded...
Next time...
Alex: Will you two just get out here already?!
Melissa: Yeah, we're kinda sick of waiting for you!
Lenore: Well, if you insist.
Clover: Okay, that's different!
Quivers: Do you like our magnificent machine, spies? Say hello to the Election Enforcer!
Nick: ...really? That's the best name you could come up with?
Quivers: H-Hey, we workshop a lot of different names, they can't all be gold!
Mat: We've trashed far bigger robots than yours, ladies!
Lenore: But can you destroy this one before something bad happens? It might not be a good look for you if you don't hurry.
Bridget: And that's supposed to mean what?!
Quivers: Oh, you'll see. Wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.
Henya: Well, readers, this election's about to close the polls, so make sure you tune in to see who won this race next time on the final act of Totally Spies: Presidential Panic, "Lead in the Polls"!
May: Hey, Nick, are you doing okay in there? You've been in the makeup department for an hour!
Nick: Well, this takes a while to apply, considering they want this to be as practical as possible.
