"Oppa!?"
What the hell was he doing here?! They were in another world! Although she was relieved at first, she quickly was able to figure out the absurdity of the situation she was in.
First, we're transported to another world, Jinah thought. Next, some lady kills our teacher and driver and forces us into a game-like scenario. A dragon attacked us, and then some ant-human saved us, which THEN turned into my BROTHER!
After thinking for a moment, Jin-ah decided that she must be in a long dream, and decided to just go with the flow. But it doesn't mean she still wasn't surprised that her brother appeared.
"Are you guys alright?" Jin-woo asked, turning his head towards the girls. He walked over and hugged his sister's head, exhaling deeply as he did so, relieved that she was still alive. Enjoying the feeling of safety, Jin-ah quickly withdrew to address the glaring elephant in the room.
"What the hell are you doing here!?" Jin-ah shouted in Korean. Tomochika could only stare at Jinah, wondering what the heck she was saying.
"I'll explain later," Jin-woo replied. "Are you guys alright?"
"And what was that ant thing!?" Jin-ah asked.
"I'll explain after you guys are safe. Is the girl next to you alright?"
Jin-ah briefly translated Jin-woo's question. Tomochika nodded, saying something to her classmate.
"She says that she'll be fine," Jin-ah translated.
During this exchange, though Jin-ah was slightly distracted talking to her brother (which "oppa" indicated), Tomochika noticed something odd. Even though Jinah's brother was turning his head, the dragon stood still, shaking even! What was going on?!
I am going to die.
This is what the dragon thought when its eyes met those of its opponent, who seemingly appeared out of nowhere. The ant-creature's powers were immense, emitting an aura, energy that the dragon had never encountered. But now, when the man… no, that entity came out of the ant, true fear struck the dragon. When it met eyes with the dragon, the reptile could only freeze. It was… trapped. It felt like it was stuck in a viscous liquid, slowly sinking into the dark depth. And looking upon it were the eyes of darkness, and within the shadow of the being were millions of soldiers that it could call, many times stronger than it was. And not only that, the eyes told the dragon one simple thing:
It was angry.
When the entity moved its head away from the dragon, the dragon knew that it was a good time for it to catch its opponent off-guard, but it couldn't move. Although it knew that it had to escape or fight within that time, it also knew something else, something it realized as soon as their eyes met. That it was going to die, no matter what it tried. Escaping or fighting was futile. All it could do was stay and await for its death.
Though it was brief, after what felt like an eternity of the stranger talking with the dragon's to-be prey, the terror finally turned and faced it. Escape was not an option. Quickly, the dragon opened its maw and let out a terrible pillar of fire, hot enough to destroy an entire city. The fire engulfed everyone, and continued for some time until the dragon thought it was enough. When it ceased, there was nothing.
"GRAAAGH!"
Suddenly, pain erupted from the dragon's legs. All of them, seemingly at the same time! It collapsed, the legs unable to support the body. Looking around, it noticed that the girls were far away on its left.
It then heard a voice that encompassed all around the dragon. It couldn't understand it, but it felt fearful of it. Something about the language felt… primordial. A small sensation introduced itself on its back, followed by slashes of more pain, starting from the back and then all around its body. The thing was whizzing around the beast's body, so quickly that the beast almost could register it!
"VRAAAAGH! RAAAWWGGGGH!"
In pain and bloodied, it used its magic and flew straight into the clouds, spinning as fast as it could to get rid of the monster. Above the clouds, the dragon shook and spun, breathed fire and shook its tail, all in a futile attempt to rid itself of its hunter. After tiring itself out, it stopped, only feeling the slashing pains from earlier. However, it quickly noticed that its trouble had not ended.
In front of it, the intruder was floating. Its expression was nonexistent. Just cold, with malice hidden under it. The dragon noticed that a large, black, sword-like weapon, the edges seemingly fading away like smoke, was present in the intruder's hand. Likely the weapon used to inflict the wounds on its body. In an instant, the being disappeared.
Before it slept, the last thing that the once-mighty beast felt was a sharp pain in its neck.
When the fire was about to engulf the group, Jin-ah covered her eyes, her eyes stinging from the intensity of the coming fire and to protect herself from her incoming doom. Her eyes closed, she suddenly felt the heat disappear in an instant, and the brightness less intense.
Opening her eyes, she noticed Tomochika looking forwards, her eyes wide open. Jin-ah turned her gaze forwards and was met with the sight of the once terrifying dragon roaring and screeching as it started to manifest wounds, bleeding heavily in the process. Unable to bear it any longer, the dragon escaped upwards. The girls were seemingly transported far away from the blast-zone, where there was glowing magma and burnt fields.
"What is happening?!" Jin-ah asked Tomochika.
"Your brother, that's what!" she replied. "He, like, teleported us and then just disappeared! Then, the dragon started screaming super loud! I think your brother's fighting this thing! Was your brother this strong!?"
"I don't know!"
The girls turned their head to the sky as loud roars echoed from above the clouds, bursts of hot orange spreading. Finally, everything stopped. They then saw something drop from the clouds.
BOOM!
When it fell to the ground, the impact was great enough to create a large crater, the force of its impact big enough for some small particles of dirt to spray onto the girls' feet! As the dust cloud around the fallen object settled, the girls waited, then ran to the site, curiosity overcoming their hesitancy.
Arriving, Tomochika commented, "Well, that's dead. Hey, where's your brother?"
"Oppa? OPPA!" Jin-ah called out, turning left and right, trying to find her brother.
Suddenly, she felt a hand ruffling her scalp.
"EEK!"
Startled, Jin-ah turned. Behind her stood her brother, not with an aura of triumph, but with a slight smile and soft eyes. Bringing her closer, he brought her to his chest, his arms around her. The sister, feeling the warmth of security after the dragon's defeat, relaxed, smiling.
"Jin-ah, let's go home," Jin-woo softly whispered.
Tomochika, also feeling warmed by this scene, had no idea what he was saying.
Jin-ah, after processing what her brother had said to, lifted her head, her eyebrows raised. Of course, she instantly withdrew, feeling awkward having her classmate's eyes seeing her like this.
"Wait, what do you mean 'let's go home'?" Jin-ah asked. "In the first place, how did you even get here!?"
"... All I can say is that I used my powers, with some help. I can't tell you any more."
"Woah, woah!" Jin-ah backed away. "What powers? Like, what are you talking about?"
"Before that, let's get into what happened with you guys. Who got you here, and what happened. I saw that there were a couple of dead people on the bus. I'm guessing the dragon did that, judging by the hole on the side."
"What's your brother saying?" Tomochika asked, unable to bear not understanding what the siblings were saying.
"Um, he said that he could take us home, and, also, he is asking what happened on the bus." Jin-ah answered.
"He can take us home?" Tomochika excitedly asked. "Well, I guess we can afford some rest. Just tell him that today was freaking crazy!"
