As the Sand started to dissipate, Sarutobi let out a breath of relief but knew that he had a difficult job to do in fighting the Fourth Kazekage, who was sitting in the viewing box protected by his guards.
He noted that Anbu team 2 was approaching but didn't see team 1 who should have also been here, as the Anbu Commander appeared in a body flicker.
"Team 1 is protecting the nobles and Shinobi Leaders," explained Crow, as Sarutobi nodded.
"Lord Hokage, look out!" shouted Zo, as 4 kunai were coming towards the Hokage, who simply dodged it as the two guards jumped towards the Hokage, both holding kunai, Zo rushed forward to meet them but before he could the Commander had thrown 2 kunai that had hit the 2 in their foreheads causing them to roll on the floor.
'Damn, he killed Sakon and Ukon and Jirobo,' thought the 'Kazekage' as he got up from his seat, he knew that the original plan with the barrier had failed but still had part of his plan.
"Lord Kazekage, what is the meaning of this?" asked Sarutobi, "The sand village has betrayed the Leaf village."
"The treaty between our villages was just a farce, to let down your guard but I underestimated the leaf," replied the 'Kazekage'.
"Lord Kazekage, there is still time, conflict solves nothing, we should seek a solution through peaceful negotiation," said the Third, cautiously, as the 'Kazekage' let out a laugh.
The 'Kazekage' grabbed at his face, tearing off his skin.
"What in the world?" asked one of the Anbu as when it was completely off it revealed the twisted snake, Orochimaru.
"You killed your ally?" asked the Commander, as Orochimaru chuckled as he showed his twisted grin.
"He was no longer of use," answered Orochimaru, as behind the Leaf Shinobi, the guards jumped out of their clothes and stood next to their master, a dark-skinned sound shinobi with black shaggy hair tied into a ponytail and black eyes on his right side while on his left a fair-skinned kunoichi with unkept dark pink hair that falls past her shoulders with long parted bangs framing each side of her face and between her eyes.
"Lord Orochimaru, we could deal with the trash for you," said the girl, but the boy seemed unsure.
"Anbu are some of the best Shinobi in the Leaf and that Jounin must be skilled, he is guarding the Hokage," replied the boy but the girl snorted.
"Don't be a coward, Kidomaru, we have Lord Orochimaru's power in us, and our power, they can't beat us, plus I've heard that the skill of Anbu has been overestimated," said the girl.
"I guess," said Kidomaru.
"Our power is too great to be beaten by this," said Tayuya, but Kidomaru still looked unsure.
"Team 1, once the battle starts, deal with the sound shinobi," ordered the Commander, quietly as Orochimaru and his shinobi jumped onto equal ground with the Hokage and the Anbu, Orochimaru removed the Kage outfit as he didn't believe he needed it anymore. Down in the Chunin Exams stadium, the Leaf had just encountered the sand.
"A traitor masquerading as Anbu Black Ops, what a nuisance," said Kakashi.
"Sound ninja, Sasuke, Sakura, Shikamaru, Shino, go assist Naruto in his battle, once it is complete, move to one of the shelters," ordered Kakashi.
"What about Ino, Kiba, Choji, Lee, Tenten and Hinata?" asked Sakura.
"Lee, Choji, and Hinata are injured, Tenten, Kiba, and Ino will guard them until they reach a shelter," answered and ordered Kakashi, as a Sound shinobi appeared behind Shikamaru but was quickly dealt with by Gai who punched him before using him to break the wall to which the Five jumped through the wall.
On the Roof, Sarutobi and the rest of the Leaf shinobi rushed towards Orochimaru who returned the gesture with his guards as Sarutobi threw a shuriken. Both Sarutobi and Orochimaru went through hand signs.
"Shuriken shadow clone jutsu!" proclaimed Sarutobi as the shuriken multiplied into hundreds.
"Summoning jutsu: reanimation!" shouted Orochimaru as he clapped his hands together, "First!" as a coffin seemed to appear out of a portal in the ground, "Second!" as another coffin appeared out of the ground.
" A summoning jutsu used as a shield, I must stop the Third one, at any cost," said Sarutobi going through hand signs, as a third coffin seemed to rise but seemed to go back into the ground.
'So the third one failed, did it?' thought Orochimaru, 'but no matter...'
'I stopped the Third one, good, but now, the battle shall get even more difficult' thought Sarutobi as the shuriken hit the coffins. Sarutobi then noted that Tayuya and Kimmimaro had appeared at each of his sides, both holding kunai about to strike but Sarutobi had some of the Leaf's finest at his side, as Raido and Zo jumped and punched both of them, sending them back to Orochimaru.
As the doors of the coffin fell off out came two shinobi dressed in red with black hair and blue armor with white hair.
"It's been a long time, Sarutobi," said the one dressed in red.
"Oh, it's you? It's been a long time, Saru, you've gotten so old," said the one dressed in blue.
"Who the devil are those two?" asked one of the Anbu, as Sarutobi decided to both answer the question and reply to the shinobi.
"I never thought, I would have to fight my brethren in this way but prepare yourselves to be defeated, Lord First Hokage, Lord Second Hokage," exclaimed Sarutobi.
"Wha-what?" asked an Anbu.
"Yes, the one with the black hair is the First Hokage and the one with the White hair is the Second, they are some of the greatest shinobi that the village has ever known, I mean they built the hidden leaf village," said Zo.
"What type of jutsu is that?" asked an Anbu.
"A forbidden one, reanimation is a summoning jutsu that requires living sacrifices to summon the spirit of the dead, the sacrifices then take up the appearances of those killed and those totems that he's about to insert into their heads most likely control them, sapping away their wills and turning them into mindless killing machines," answered the Commander, as Orochimaru started placing two kunai with special symbols on them into their heads, which caused steam to rise out of them.
"What do we do now?" asked Raido.
"You and Zou deal with the Sound ninja, me and the rest of Team One shall assist the Hokage," answered the Commander, receiving nods. They then noticed that the Hokages were starting to come alive.
"You demon, they look just the same as I remember," said Sarutobi sadly.
"Have you ever felt the joy and fulfillment of killing the one you once called sensei? No, I suppose not, why vicariously through me, you'll get to, just a taste, before you die, " said Orochimaru as Sarutobi went through hand signs.
"Fire style: dragon flame bombs!" shouted Sarutobi releasing flames out of his mouth toward the fallen shinobi but the Second did a single-hand sign.
"Water style: water wall!" shouted the Second as he released water that formed a barrier that defended the undead shinobi and the traitor from the flames, as the water and the flames disappeared, the Second then clapped his hands together.
"Lord Hokage, those are not the First Hokage nor the Second, whatever they may look like!" shouted Zo as he and Raido jumped to complete Crow's order in dealing with the Sound Ninja, as they attempted to get away from the battle.
"I am aware of that," said Sarutobi as water seemed to appear around the second, forming a giant vortex, It then exploded from the top, rushing towards Sarutobi who went through a hand sign.
"Earth style: mud wall!" shouted Sarutobi as he spit out an earthen substance that formed a mud wall on which the Commander, the Anbu, and Sarutobi jumped to protect themselves from the powerful water-style jutsu.
"I and Team 1 shall deal with the reanimations, you focus on Orochimaru," said the Commander as Sarutobi nodded, as the water disappeared, Sarutobi jumped down followed by his Anbu as they rushed towards the reanimations but as they reached the reanimations prepared for battle, the Third jumped over them, as kunai came at them from behind, hitting them.
"Team 1, deal with the Second, while he is no doubt weaker, he is still kage level, they both are," cautioned the Commander, as he engaged in taijutsu with the First, throwing punches and kicks while at the same time blocking and thinking about weaknesses he could exploit with this jutsu.
Sarutobi and Orochimaru were showing off their skill in taijutsu, blocking, side stepping, punches, and kicks, the speed at which they fought showed off their prowess. Orochimaru threw a punch which was blocked by Sarutobi who threw another punch, which was dodged by the yougner, before Orochimaru tried to punch him again but this time Sarutobi caught it and used it to kick Orochimaru, sending him flying.
"Ninja art: summoning jutsu - monkey king Enma!" shouted Sarutobi as he placed his hand on the ground, smoke filled the arena as the monkey and personal summon of Sarutobi arrived to assist his ally.
"You," said Enma, as he saw Orochimaru before turning back to Sarutobi, "You fool, Sarutobi, you should've killed him when you had the chance."
"Better late than never," said Sarutobi but Enma looked unsure.
"Maybe too late, now," replied Enma.
"Quickly, Enma, Adamantine Nyoi!" shouted Sarutobi as Enma jumped into the air.
"Transformation!" proclaimed Enma before smoking enveloped him and out came a giant black staff with gold on each end, which landed in Sarutobi's hands.
The Commander, however, tried something as he pushed his hand into the armored stomach of the First as symbols spread out across his belly. The first was about to punch him but stopped meters from his face, as the Totem fell out of his head, and a joyous smile appeared on his.
'So a contract seal works, does it? It breaks the control the summoner has over the summoned and despite being different, reanimation is still a summoning jutsu,' thought the Commander.
"So you've broken his control over me, well done, well done, Anbu Captain Crow," said the First, joyously.
"Anbu Commander, actually," replied the Commander, as they turned towards the Second whom the Anbu were holding off but it was proving difficult and they had luck on their side as the Second didn't have free will, allowing them to distract him by attacking him at random indices, which resulted in his attention shifting a lot, "we should also stop him."
They both quickly rushed towards the Second and the First held his brother down using wood-style bindings, as the Commander repeated the process the Second nodded towards the Commander as they turned back towards the Third who was in a difficult battle with Orochimaru, who was holding a sword, as they watched on as they exchanged blows.
"The grass-long sword," recognized the Commander as Sarutobi knocked it away using the staff, away and hit Orochimaru with the staff back, sending him flying once again, Sarutobi breathed out tired breaths, as Orochimaru got up.
"What's wrong, sensei? Tired?" asked one of three legendary shinobi, "Oh you poor thing, you've gotten so old, all you want to do is lay down and take a long, good nap." Orochimaru started laughing to which Sarutobi looked at him confused, he was only 17-18 years younger than him and was soon approaching his age.
"Why are you laughing?" asked Sarutobi, annoyed, as Raido and Zo jumped down and joined the Commander and the previous Hokage in curiously watching Orochimaru.
"Should I be weeping?" asked Orochimaru, as Orochimaru reached for his face and tore off his own skin, confusing everyone there.
"Huh, who the devil are you?" asked Sarutobi, as Orochimaru started laughing once again.
"What is going on here? If he is truly one of the Sannin, then he should be in his fifties, he shouldn't be so young and shouldn't he be male?" asked one of the Anbu, confusing the previous Hokage.
"Who or what is that?" asked Zo.
"You've really lost it, old man, it's me, Orochimaru," answered the Sannin, as Sarutobi's eyes widened in horror.
"So you've completed even that jutsu? This is why, I couldn't choose you to be the Fourth Hokage, your mind and soul are twisted," said Sarutobi horrified, as he remembered the events in which he found Orochimaru, experimenting on people with Crow's predecessor and a bird-masked Anbu Captain.
"The immortality jutsu, a technique for eternally recycling one's spirit on Earth, in a way it's a kind of revival jutsu on Earth, you find a body, a young body, pour you're spirit into it and make it your own," explained Orochimaru to the horror of everyone there, as Orochimaru let out a giggle, "I was using my old familiar form until now because I wanted our reunion to be a little nostalgic for you sensei, growing old is a sad, empty thing, I only have to look at you to be reminded of that, you will die here, old man, while I move onto another stronger body, but first I really must thank you and all of the Leaf Village, for preparing my next body so well."
Sarutobi then said, "Now, I understand, it's Sasuke Uchiha." As Orochimaru licked his lips.
"Exactly, you've guessed it, it's Sasuke I want," replied Orochimaru.
"So you've mastered a jutsu that preserves your soul in the body of others, how many bodies has it been? How many faces?" asked Sarutobi.
"Two or three, perhaps," answered Orochimaru, "But I'll wait for Sasuke until he is ripe, and then when he has been raised and trained to my liking," as Orochimaru started giggling, "tell me which face would you prefer me to wear? Perhaps it will be easier on you to look on a familiar face," as Orochimaru put back his known face, "as you die, cursing, you're brief, wasted life."
"You monster," said Zo, as everyone, privately agreed with him.
"What are you fools waiting for? Attack them," ordered Orochimaru to the Hokages but his eyes widened upon the reply from the Second.
"We are no longer under your control," said the Second, as the First went through a hand sign.
"Wood style: deep forest emergence!" shouted the First as the Forest came to be, capturing Orochimaru who went through a hand sign as his sword began flying and cut himself free.
"Well then," said Orochimaru as he tried to deactivate the jutsu, and his eyes widened.
"Damn, clearly he will switch bodies if he dies and we don't everything about this jutsu, so we can't kill him," said the Commander, as he thought about a solution, " we need to capture him so that we can place him where he can't harm anyone or do any damage."
"Yes but, that sword of his is a problem, we need to destroy it before we can deal with the traitor," said the First, as Sarutobi joined them.
"The grass-long sword is incredibly durable and powerful, it will take a lot of power to destroy it," replied the Commander
"I shall get the sword out of his hand and then all of you use your powerful jutsu to destroy it," said the Third, he jumped at Orochimaru with his staff, as Orochimaru once again held his sword, and jumped at his sensei as they began to exchange blows once again, jumping and fighting at different ranges.
"Sarutobi is truly an impressive shinobi, fighting on equal grounds with a Kage-level Shinobi, how old is he exactly?" asked the First, as he watched the battle.
"68, I believe," answered the Commander, surprising the Hokage.
"If this is him, at this age, he most likely may have surpassed even me in his prime," said the Second, as he decided to focus on another topic, "exactly why is he still Hokage?"
"He shouldn't be," answered the Commander, confusing the Hokage.
"What do you mean by that?" asked the First.
"The Fourth Hokage died, sealing away the 9 tails into a newborn baby," answered the Anbu.
"What, it escaped Mito?" asked the First, as both the Second and the First looked at Crow shocked, while the Anbu looked on confused.
"No, lady Mito Uzumaki has been dead a great many years, it escaped its second Jinchuriki, Lady Kushina Uzumaki, and had to be placed into its third, Naruto Uzumaki," answered Crow, as the Anbu and the Jounin grew shocked, "I trust, I don't have to remind you of the secrecy of your positions."
"Umm yes, sir but who are these people?" asked an Anbu.
"Mito Uzumaki was my wife and the first Jinchuriki of the 9 tails, it seemed that she gave the 9-tailed demon fox to this Kushina Uzumaki, who had died and passed it onto Naruto Uzumaki," answered the First, saddened, as the Anbu started to understand something.
"So the 9 tails attack was an incident?" asked Zo, receiving a nod.
"Umm, I don't know, but I do know, she lived well into the rein of the Third Hokage as an old lady," answered the Commander, as the battle continued with Sarutobi summoning focused flames which were shot at Orochimaru, who dodged them, evident of the phoenix flower jutsu, as Orochimaru dodged, landing on another branch and noticed Sarutobi behind him, and waved his sword which was knocked away.
"Now!" shouted Sarutobi as everyone nodded, the First summoned large pieces of wood which collided with the sword, and the Second and his shadow clones shot out several water-style jutsu, some focused, others not, with the Commander using fire-style jutsu while the Anbu and the Jounin threw kunai with explosive tags attached to them at the area of the sword, as smoke filled the area, they walked over to the debris to find the sword shattered into many pieces, shocking Orochimaru.
"No!" shouted Orochimaru, as he realized the battle was lost, 'Damn it, I didn't even kill Sarutobi, the blade is destroyed, I will have my revenge, starting with the Commander for interrupting this.'
"He's trying to escape!" shouted the Commander as Orochimaru attempted to jump away but vines wrapped around them, keeping him in place and trapped.
"Sarutobi, this is where we will leave you," said the First as he and the Second began turning back into dust, and their souls were revealed.
"You've done well but there is still much to do," said the Second, as Sarutobi nodded, smiling but looking saddened at seeing the corpses of Orochimaru's people, leaving him deep in thought.
"I think, we're forgetting something," said the Commander, as everyone looked at him confused, "the Jinchuriki battle."
Shock filled everyone's features as they remembered that Naruto Uzumaki was fighting the One Tails Jinchuriki.
Sarutobi left the Anbu team to guard Orochimaru while he and the Commander rushed into the forest and direction of the Uzumaki as was vitally important, that the battle went in their favour. When they arrived they found an area filled with damage but no sign of either Naruto or Gaara as they jumped, they found Sakura and Shino staring down.
"What happened here?" asked the Commander.
"Sir, Naruto Uzumaki defeated Gaara of the Sand in combat, and is now lying there, on the ground, with Sasuke-kun checking on him," answered Sakura, a bit nervous.
"Yes but he did a jutsu and then his voice changed and the sand in the shape of the Tanuki acted like it had a mind of its own," said Shino, as the Hokage's eyes widened.
'He fought and defeated the one tails,' thought Sarutobi, amazed, as they found Sasuke checking on Naruto, who was lying face down on the dirt. Then Kankuro and Temari jumped down and picked up their brother.
"You have been deceived," said Sarutobi, "the Fourth Kazekage was killed by Orochimaru who has been impersonating him, this entire time." Shocking the Genin as they realized what had happened, and nodded before disappearing into the trees again.
"Is it wise to let them go?" asked Sasuke.
"If we don't, it could cause an incident and worsen relations with the Sand, when we have the problem of the Sound to still deal with," answered the Third as they all checked out Naruto.
'You truly are something, Naruto Uzumaki,' thought the Third, as he let out a breath of relief before getting a serious expression on his face.
"Sasuke, Shino, Sakura, take your knocked-out comrade to one of the shelters," ordered Sarutobi as the three nodded, Sasuke putting Naruto on his back before jumping through the trees.
"What now?" asked the Commander.
"We will remove the enemy from our village," answered Sarutobi, as they disappeared in smoke.
AN: The battle would still go the same as canon with little differences, but Naruto would still end up victorious, now things are about to truly get interesting.
