Here we are at Chapter 4. The battle to save Earth continues as we reach the halfway point in the story. I do not own RWBY or Justice League. They belong to their respective owners. I only own my OCs. Here's chapter 4. Enjoy.

Chapter 4: How to Kill a Kaiju

As Green Lantern and Blake continue their battle against the Sea Feilong, Weiss and Edom patrol another section of the port. However, they notice Lantern's green light a short distance away and grow concerned.

Weiss contacts Batman, "We should be helping them,"

"They've got it," Batman replies.

"Let's hope so," Edom notes.

As they walk past the containers, Weiss takes note of her weapon, "You said this is from one of your enemies, correct? A Mr. Freeze?" Weiss asks.

"Guess it's better than Ice Queen," Edom jokes, earning a glare from Weiss. "Just joking."

However, Batman doesn't comment, "Great. A nice chat. Blake was right. Seeing Gotham, I'm starting to understand now. Wherever we come from, it makes us who we are, for better or worse. But, what do you do when... that place is gone? Do you carry it along with you even if that place no longer exists. I mean... who are you if your home is no longer alive?" Weiss asks, but Batman still doesn't respond. "I don't understand why I expected you to have an answer,"

"Weiss, I don't think-," Edom reaches out.

"And I still don't understand why you aren't upset about losing our home. Did Atlas mean anything to you?" Weiss gets frustrated.

"Weiss, that's not what-," Edom tries.

"Or maybe since you haven't been there in a long time, it's easier to move on from it. Maybe I was just-," Weiss says.

"WEISS!" Edom yells, shutting her up. He takes off his hood and mask, showing his distraught expression. "...I thought you were dead," his words stun her into silence. "I thought you were all dead. I don't feel for Atlas the way you do. It's true. That place stopped being my home a long time ago. Because the day I lost my mother, my family... I no longer had a home. And then I became a part of Team KEPL... And then I met you. I had a new home... And then I lost it when Atlas fell. I thought I lost the people who meant the most to me. Most nights, I couldn't sleep. And the few nights I did, I had nightmares where I watched you and everyone else die right in front of me. And there was nothing I could do about it. I was beyond happy when you guys came back, and I know we talked about it, but... Even after you guys came back, I still have trouble sleeping at times. Because I'm afraid..." tears start to form in his eyes. "I'm afraid that when I close my eyes, the next time I wake up, you'll be gone again, and this was all some big dream. Weiss, Atlas will always mean something to you. Be a part of you, but... Remember what we told Nora. It's only a part of you. Don't forget the rest. You are not Atlas, nor are you your father. You're more than that. You want to know what my home is, Weiss? It's you. You are my home. No matter where you go, no matter what challenges await us, as long as I'm with you, and everyone else... I'm home,"

Weiss is moved by his words. She figured he was sad when he thought they were dead, but she never realized how much of them being gone affected him.

"Edom," Weiss reaches up to wipe his tears away. "I'm sorry... for not under-watch out!" Weiss gasps and they both dodge sideways to avoid the stinger of a Deathstalker.

Edom puts his mask and hood back on as Weiss fires her freeze gun at the grimm. Unfortunately, the freeze gun is having little effect and they are forced to retreat. Edom jumps over a pincer strike, swinging his scythe at the grimm's head. However, the grimm's armor is too thick.

"Well, at least we found it!" Edom notes as they run. "It just had to ruin the moment, didn't it."

Weiss fires more shots, only for the gun to stop working, "What's wrong with this stupid thing?!" she gives it a few smacks.

"It's been in storage for too long. Must not be charged," Batman replies, making Weiss growl. Weiss throws the gun away and faces the grimm. She raises her hands towards the Deathstalker. "What are you doing?" Batman asks.

"Um, Weiss?" Edom looks confused.

However, nothing happens, "So, that's a 'no' on having powers in this world. Great, just great," Weiss groans.

"Let me try," Edom concentrates and slowly raises up his left hand. Suddenly, red portals open up on the ground and skeletal hands reach out to grab the Deathstalker by its legs. Rd skeletons appear, their eyes glowing.

"Nice," Edom smirks.

"How come you get powers here and I don't?!" Weiss gets annoyed.

"Hey, don't ask me. Talk to tall, dark, and batty on the comms," Edom retorts.

Just then, the Deathstalker breaks free of the skeletons' grasp and charges at them.

"We should go," Weiss suggests, and they make a run for it.

Meanwhile, Blake runs past some containers as the Feilong smashes through them to get at her. One container falls towards her, but Lantern pushes it away before they jump to dodge the grimm's tail. Lantern creates several arrows and fires them at its head. Blake runs by her, jumping into the middle of the grimm's body. She conjures some shadows to hold it in place while Lantern fires off a green missile at its head. The Feilong catches it in its mouth, but Lantern makes it explode, blowing up its head. The headless corpse falls to the ground. The two heroes fist bump at a job well done... except the job isn't over yet. The black ooze moves back to the body as it sits up and the Feilong's head regenerates until it's good as new.

"Ugh, how exactly do we kill this thing?!" Lantern asks.

"Blowing it's head off worked the last time I fought one!" Blake retorts.

The Feilong lunges at them, separating them. Cyborg runs in and fires off his cannon at its face, forcing the grimm back into the water. A moment later, it rises up into the air as it spreads its wings. It fires off a breath attack at Cyborg, but Blake flies in with a pair of shadow wings and twirls her staff around to block the breath attack. The grimm tries to barbecue them as they make a run for it.

"That thing's regenerating. I think its consciousness must be somewhere else. If we don't find out where it's stored, that thing will just keep putting itself back together," Cyborg says.

His words make Blake stop as she watches Lantern fight the grimm, "It's consciousness can be stored? Then that means Kilgore could be working with anyone from back home," Blake mutters.

The Feilong fires another breath attack at Cyborg and Lantern, but the latter blocks it with her ring.

"I've been trying this whole time to hack into their programming, but doing so remotely hasn't been helping," Cyborg notes.

"Then Blake and I will keep it busy while you hack into it," Lantern says, while Blak nods.

The grimm tries to eat them, but they all dodges its strike. As the grimm charges up another breath attach, Blake takes out her sword and kicks it right into the side of its face.

"Hey, you overgrown garden snake. Come and get me!" Blake grabs its attention, for better or worse.

The Feilong charges at her and she runs back to the containers. She jumps and runs along them as the grimm gives chase. Blake jumps onto its side to rip out her sword, landing on some cables.

Lantern lifts Cyborg into the air, "What's your plan here, exactly?"

"I have to plug into it manually, myself," Cyborg says, readying his left arm, though that concerns Lantern.

Blake dodges another breath attack and sends out several shadow blades into the grimm's body. It flies into the air and Lantern uses this chance to fling Cyborg at it. He stabs his left arm into its back and plugs in, popping up a screen. However, as soon as he hacks in, Cyborg yells in pain as the human half of his face starts changing into that of a grimm.

"Cyborg!" Lantern yells.

"The programming. It's trying to change me!" Cyborg screams in pain as the Feilong flies around erratically.

Back with Edom and Weiss, they climb up some wooden containers to evade the Deathstalker. Edom creates two skeletons by their sides and they kick off the containers, causing a large number of them to crash down on the Deathstalker and it stops moving. Edom gets a good look at its tail and notices that it looks more mechanical than flesh and bone.

"Wait, Weiss, doesn't the design of that tail look familiar?" Edom points at it.

Weiss looks and notices it too, "You're right. I've scene that tail before,"

"That tail... It looks like Tyrian Callows'," Edom realizes.

"Weiss, Edom, what's wrong?" Batman calls out.

Weiss looks around before her eyes fall onto a nearby crane. The Deathstalker gets back up and starts spewing poison at them, forcing them back.

"Edom, follow me!" Weiss leads the way to the crane, while Edom summons a few more skeletons with scythes this time to slow the grimm down. Weiss is the first to climb up with Edom behind her while the Deathstalker breaks through his skeletons. As they reach the top, the grimm starts climbing up after them and they start carefully moving along the crane arm.

"Any ideas?" Edom asks, readying his scythe.

"Just one. Don't freak out," Weiss replies, earning a confused look from Edom.

Weiss stand at the edge of the crane and then falls back. Edom's eyes widen, but then Weiss lands on the hook of the crane, swinging it around and up at the Deathstalker. She knocks it off the crane while also taking off its stinger as the grimm falls helplessly into the water. She picks up the broken stinger.

Edom sighs with relief, "Ugh, I thought Ruby was the one that usually came up with crazy ideas,"

"Well, I thought it was a good idea. Maybe just a little crazy," Weiss smirks.

Back in the fight against the Feilong, Cyborg takes a few deep breaths as he sits on top of the dead Feilong's body. Lantern and Blake approach him.

"Cyborg, are you-," Lantern asks, but a sudden call stops her.

"Justice League! Calling the Justice League!" Superman groans in pain. "We need... your help," he says as Ruby, Khazhak, and Bahamut continue to fight the Nidhogg on the bridge, with the grimm having a green crystal on its chest. "This grimm has a heart of kryptonite. I... I-,"

"Clark!" Ruby yells as she teleports next to him. "Try your heat vision!"

Superman does as she suggests, but the heat vision bounces off the kryptonite. The Nidhogg flies towards them, but Bahamut tackles the side of its head down onto the bridge. Khazhak lands next to them and fires off more lightning from his arms at its face.

"We could really use a hand here!" Khazhak shouts.

"We'll come to help as soon as we take out the Tempest that's affecting the weather," Wonder Woman replies.

Back with Yang's group, while Porphyrius, Canary, and Mirror Master provide ranged support, Yang and Lloyd charge straight under it while dodging its tentacles. Once they're under the beast, Yang shoots up some fire blasts at its weakpoint while Lloyd swings his arms to send some metal shards up into its mouth.

"Anyone seen Flash?" Superman asks, right as Flash runs past them.

"Uh, was that..." Lloyd mutters.

"Flash, come in!" Superman calls out.

Flash runs all over the city, eventually pinning a Sphinx against a wall.

"Where is he? Where is Kilgore?!" Flash demands.

Back on the bridge, Khazhak and Bahamut fire off a combined blast of lightning and fire at the Nidhogg. The flying grimm weaves around the bridge as it tries to close in on them. Ruby teleports around it, making a few hit-and-run strikes on its head with her scythe. With the kryptonite off of him, Superman slowly regains his strength.

"This thing is really pissing me off," Khazhak notes before jumping away from its jaws, landing on Bahamut's back as he flies around.

"Those reinforcements should hurry it up," Bahamut notes.

As the grimm's attention is on them, Superman flies at its back. However, the grimm turns and the kryptonite gets in range of Superman, weakening him once again. Superman falls as the grimm goes to eat him, only for Khazhak and Bahamut to smash against the side of its skull while Ruby teleports in, grabs Superman, and then teleports back onto the bridge. Khazhak and Bahamut rejoin them a moment later. Just then, a rain of green blasts hit the Nidhogg and they all turn to see Weiss and Edom's team arrive to help.

"What took you so long?" Khazhak asks as Edom and Weiss join them.

"Traffic," Edom shrugs his shoulders.

They look at Cyborg and Green Lantern fire off several shots at the Nidhogg. The grimm goes after Cyborg, but he jumps off a car to evade it. Lantern fires a green fire blast at the grimm, forcing it back before it moves onto the bridge. Edom summons several skeletons with scythes on the cables of the bridge and they drop down on top of the grimm, digging their scythes into its back. Blake flies up above them, swinging her staff to launch several shadow spikes to deal more damage. The Nidhogg, shaking off the skeletons, flies at Cyborg and Khazhak, but they slide under the charge and fire two blasts with their powers straight up, sending the Nidhogg into the air. Lantern creates a spear and throws it, slicing off one set of the grimm's wings and grounding it onto the bridge. With its flight taken away, the gang converged and pore it on the giant grimm. Weiss and Edom stand back to protect a weakened Superman, but then they notice civilians still on the bridge. They look at Superman, who nods, before they go to escort the civilians to safety. As they do this, the others continue to fight the Nidhogg. Cyborg gets a little too close and the grimm knocks him off the bridge. Luckily, Bahamut flies in and catches him before flying up onto one of the cables. Down below, Blake fire more shadow spikes at the grimm's rear while Ruby concentrates on its head, and Khazhak throws a hard electric punch under its jaws.

"Any ideas for this one?" Bahamut nods to the grimm.

"I could try plugging into it like I did the last one?" Cyborg suggests.

"You what?!" Bahamut is perplexed.

"Hell no!" Lantern flies up next to them. "The last time you did that, you almost turned into a grimm!" she says before hitting the comms. "We need some extra firepower here,"

The Nidhogg chases Ruby all over the bridge and along the cables as it tries to eat her, but she teleports away back onto the bridge. Blake sends out more shadow spikes while Khazhak fires off more lightning bursts, but it dodges them. The grimm looks and sees Superman, Edom, and Weiss running away with a few civilians and slithers along the cables towards them.

"Ah, crap," Khazhak curses before jumping onto Bahamut as he flies by.

Ruby teleports Blake over to Superman's group, but they all get knocked to the ground by the Nidhogg. Khazhak and Bahamut land in between them, ready to fight. The Nidhogg charges at the, but a sudden fire blast hits it in the face and makes it reel back. They look back to see Yang's group arrive just in time.

"You rang?" Yang jokes.

"Time to kick some ass," Lloyd notes, readying a pair of metal claws longer than his original ones on his arms.

The Nidhogg roars and everyone charges in while Superman's group get the civilians to safety. They all fly or run around the grimm, attacking together. Canary screams at its face, staggering it, followed by Porphyrius lifting up and car and throwing it at its skull. Wonder Woman flies behind it and wraps her lasso around one of its horns. Next, Porphyrius lifts up Lloyd and throws him at its head. Lloyd swings his claws at its skull, damaging the bone armor before landing on the bridge. Khazhak and Bahamut take aim at the kryptonite on its chest and fire off more lightning and breath attacks at it. Lantern join them, firing off a green blast of her own. The combined assault causes the stone to flicker and crack.

"We're doing damage. We need to take out that kryptonite!" Khazhak yells out.

As Weiss and Edom see the civilians walk away safely, Superman flies back into the fight. However, they suddenly see Flash zip right by them.

"Flash?" Weiss mutters.

The Nidhogg breathes fire, forcing some of the heroes back. However, Flash races right in, making several hit-and-run attacks along its body before getting knocked back by its left arm. Flash lands on his feet and races right back into the fray.

Superman reaches out, "Flash, don't! Stop before you-,"

But Flash doesn't listen and nearly gets cooked, only to get knocked to the ground. As he gets up, the Nidhogg clamps its jaws down on him, much to his friends' horror. The grimm tosses Flash up into the air, but before it can eat him, Ruby teleports in and grabs him, using her scythe to keep its mouth open.

"Ruby!" Khazhak yells.

The Nidhogg gets ready to breath fire on them, but Ruby teleport them away to safety at the last second. Khazhak growls before charging up his lightning and firing off a charged shot that hits the kryptonite and destroys it. With the kryptonite gone, Superman regains his strength.

"Now!" Ruby calls out and everyone charges the Nidhogg at all sides.

They all make an onslaught of attacks all over the grimm as it tries to retaliate. At one point, Wonder Woman grabs one arm with her lasso while Vixen grabs the other with some gorilla strength, and Porphyrius holds down its tail with his power. Superman flies in and holds its head back. Ruby throws her scythe into the air, teleporting into the air to catch it. With a war cry, she spins in the air as she falls down and slices the Nidhogg's head off, finally ending the battle. Everyone collects themselves on a job well done.

And that's the chapter. Teams RWBY and KEPL help the Justice League repel a grimm attack across Earth, but the bigger threat still lies before them. Will they figure out who Kilgore's partner is and what their scheme is before it's too late? Until then, please Read and Review.
