A/N: So I have been wondering if SI!Kusaka should stay…whatever he is now gets reincarnated into either Devils via Evil Pieces or Angels using Brave Saints. Kusaka may not be as bad as his TV counterpart but he still isn't as pleasant and kind as people might want to 'rewrite' him. Eventually he will have to choose once his life's expiration date comes.

(Back to present)

Now things get messy as Rias and Akeno had partly seen me, judging from her squeal. What a weeb.

I quickly hopped on the Side Basshar, the headlights flashed as it recognized its owner, and left the park while watching for Traffic Officers. I couldn't return to Hanagata-san's house right now; the Devils had been tracking my movements lately.

Which meant, to my favorite (and expensive as fuck) net cafe, Ichimonji! Hopefully the owner still had his exterior cover because Side Basshar stood out a lot, especially the moments it made lots of noises when strangers touched it. Stupid bike AI.

After paying my fees, I entered the most secluded room of the cafe and finally let out a relieved sigh. Not counting the pain from Kaixa Gear, the anxiety and worry of being discovered just hurt my brain.

"Oiya, isn't it Kusaka-shi. Bored of school life?"

"Screw you, you damn NEET."

"Hahaha, at least I still make more money than you, Kamen Rider."

It was Junpei Tsugumo, a (permanent) resident of Ichimonji. Believe it or not, he is the exact copy of Makoto Tsukumo from Like a Dragon series, with even more tech and supernatural-savvy. He was the second person to know my identity as Kaixa after a very unfortunate encounter with Stray Devil, the first was my uncle Hanagata because of course he did.

"So! Still have problems with the belt? I remember it almost killed me when I tried it."

"Yeah, Kaixa Gear kills anyone but its owner I suppose. And it still zapped me earlier in the middle of a hunt."

I showed Junpei the Kaixa belt, who became giddy at the chance to inspect a real transformation device. Just as he said, after the night I had saved him, he snatched it from my bag and wore it, just to get a loud ERROR and electrocuted. I was surprised that the cursed gear didn't reduce him to ashes like how it did to people other than Kusaka, and the Lobster Orphnoch.

Speaking of Orphnoch, I hadn't encountered any of its kind, the closest sample was Saji, an underclassman who got killed by Vizor the Spider Devil and reincarnated into a Devil right on the spot by Sona Sitri. He was unlucky to wander near the area where I was fighting her. Hanagata-san didn't mention anything related to 'Orphnoch', just 'a hybrid between two similar races'. It sounded confusing understandably so he used my background as a child between Greek beastman and Japanese beastwoman, both were objectively the same species with different birthplaces. He had no idea why he and I couldn't assume beast forms but maybe that was the reason why I could use the Kaixa Gear, and he as well in some degrees, but not everyone else.

That sounded promising but left an ominous truth that there were other hybrids like us out there and if they had their hands on the belt, the consequences would be massive.

"Junpei, be careful not to fry yourself. Tomorrow I have school to attend so I'll hit the sack."

"Yeah yeah, good night Kusaka-shi."

Despite still feeling sore, I still had to go to school and act like a normal student in order to fulfill the contract with Azazel, leader of Fallen Angels. I would resume my life as before the 'awakening' and gather intel about the potential uprising inside the Gregori, starting with Raynare's gang. The contract didn't say that I MUST NOT kill them so last night I attempted to kill her, cuz she's just an annoying bitch all things considered. The Sitri and Gremory families apparently knew about this contract so they didn't, or rather, couldn't outright tail or force me to join their Peerages. Mercenary rights, beeches.

"K-K-Kusaka-senpai?!"

"Yo, Hyoudou."

It's our perverted protagonist, Issei Hyoudou, without a hole on his chest. He looked absolutely miserable there. He then went about the whole 'nobody remembered who Amano Yuuma was and Kuoh's big racks Onee-chan woke up on his bed'. Of course he would emphasize Rias' sizes.

"Alright alright, I understand the gist of it. I'm sure that Onee-chan will explain everything to you later in the day. See ya."

"A-Ah! Senpai wait for me!"

I ditched Issei and ran straight to the school.

The rest of the day went almost smoothly, except those times I had to evade Toujou, Shinra and Saji. I threw my (cheap) bento box at the cat girl and performed parkours to dodge the latters' blatant magic spells. Fuck Devils and their school. And I managed to stay quiet in the class until after school and I made a beeline to Ichimonji, grabbed the Kaixa Gear sans the Pointer and Blaygun, which I only noticed later, and jumped on Side Basshar. The little shit seemed to be happy I was the driver, not the ever curious owner of the net cafe.

"Let's see… Side Basshar, where's my map?"

The small but sufficient screen on the bike displayed a digitized map of Kuoh Town. My destination was the abandoned church on the outskirts so I set the navigation for Side Basshar to follow, while I had my early dinner.

"!"

Side Basshar suddenly shook and honked. I hastily put the entire sandwich into my mouth and looked around; fuck it's Kiba Yuuji, who just happened to be buying meals in the same convenience store.

"Kusaka-senpai?"

"Uhh… BATTLE MODE!"

Upon my command, the bike morphed into the bipedal ripoff of ED-209 and pointed its four-barreled hand at Kiba.

"W-What is that?"

"Yuuji, you listen to me and this thing won't blast you to smithereens. I know you are a Knight and your speed can't escape my missiles; I know, I have killed beings much faster than you. Capeesh?"

Kiba glanced at the left arm, where the six exhaust pipes-turned-missile launchers rested menacingly, and nervously nodded. Oh the side note, I realized that for whatever reasons, neither the owner of the store nor the bystanders seemed to be bothered by a hulking mecha threatening to kill a young man.

"'right, you go back to Rias, tell her to watch out for any foreign Sister from the church. She is possessing a MacGuffin, which potentially ignites another war between Devils and Fallen Angels. Don't question it, just tell her. She will understand."

I quickly pressed the mode-change button on the screen and Side Basshar returned to Vehicle Mode before we left the scene, leaving the still-dumbfounded Kiba and his goodies.

Later that day, Issei was flabbergasted at seeing the Occult Club members growing pairs of bat wings on their backs, and they helped him do the same. Then, Rias gave him a brief summary of what Devils were, other major factions and the Great War between the three. His head was already hurting from the expositions, until Akeno told him about the Project that Gregori was conducting recently and Kusaka-senpai was in the middle of it, being one of the few surviving and successful specimens.

The Project had no official name, but the details were about creating a Pseudo-Sacred Gear for the Hybrids who could not be categorized as humans and receive God's Artifacts, despite the fact that their biological properties were the same, or at least, similar to those of a normal human. Just early this year, Kohei Kusaka was the only Hybrid to survive the extraction of his genes and creation of the Pseudo-Sacred Gear, albeit it was unidentified at first.

"So you mean, him being a superhero came from that fake Sacred Gear?"

"Yes!" Rias shouted, re-entering the conversation. "Did you see the suit?! Golden body lines, jet black armor with shoulder pads. KYAAAAA!"

"Please forgive her manners. She is a huge otaku, as you can see."

Akeno pinched her president's ear to stop her squeal.

"...Did someone mention the fact that Kusaka-senpai possesses a robot bike?" Kiba finally spoke up, voicing his thoughts. The room stared at him for a moment before Rias resumed her attic again.

"A masked hero having a personal robotic friend? KYAAAAA I MUST HAVE HIM, AKENO!"
