Chapter 2

It has been two weeks since my seemingly revival, and that's also when Mikasa returns to Paradis Island with my head. She buries my head under the tree that I used to stay with, and it is then Aya comes with the message of Historia.

"Our Highness summons you to the capital, Lady Mikasa. I hope you're not going to resist." Aya says as Mikasa nods while getting on the carriage that leads to the capital. I was also there, but because I don't want to be seen by Mikasa, which is why I'm wearing a hood and watching from afar. Once they get to the capital, Historia says, "Mikasa, welcome back."

"Historia..." She frowns, and she can feel that she's being glared by the Yeagerists. Historia says, "In people's eyes, you have been a traitor to our nation. It is because of Eren's power that they are not going to harm you. I assume that Armin and the others haven't returned yet?"

Mikasa shakes her head and says, "I come back on my own because the others are still outside of the island dealing with the aftermath. They won't give Eren a proper burial if I continue to stay there."

She is a little confused, the Yeagerists aren't doing anything after hearing how she mentioned Eren's death. Historia says, "Everyone on the island knows of Eren's death. I'm sure you've gotten the memories as well. He took some time talking to every soldier and every Eldian on the island, apologizing to everyone who was sacrificed for the goal of the Rumbling, and wanting what's best for the island."

Historia looks at the sky and says, "I refused to become the puppet queen, that's why I intend to go along with Eren's plan of Rumbling if it means that our island will be safe. As the queen, it sounds selfish and very unlike to me. But I would not let my daughter suffer the horrible fate of being killed by the outside world."

Mikasa nods, and she says, "I was never one to join the corps. I only joined because I want to protect Eren...but now that Eren is not here, and the Titans are no more, I don't think I have the power to fight again. I just want to find a place and spend the rest of my life."

"We understand, you've done enough." Historia says, and she is not expecting that Mikasa would have the same thought as mine. She looks at me, who is still hiding in the shadows. I nod at her and Historia says, "Mikasa... I want to really ask you, Eren told me that he was going to say that "he hates you" in the restaurant. I want to know do you really believe what he said?"

"I don't know..." Mikasa says, "I want to believe that it is not true..."

"Eren really doesn't want to say those words as well." Historia says. "Seeing the future and having no power to change it pains him and he has no other choice but to say it. But I just want to tell you that Eren never hates you, and he is grateful to have a sister like you, just like a sister like me..."

This only causes Mikasa to burst into tears, and everyone feels sad for her. After they chat for a while, Mikasa leaves the capital. That's when I show up again, and Historia says, "Are you sure it's fine not to talk to her again?"

"She should forget about me, after all, in her eyes, I'm already dead." I say, "It really pains me, but it's for the best."

Historia can see that I'm also tearing up, and I mutter, "I really don't want that... Mikasa finding another man, and I want her to just think about me for the rest of her life. Even after I die... I want her to be hung on me for ten years, at least. That's what I told Armin... I want her to be happy, and I really do. I want to be with everyone else as well, but there is no way things can become just like before."

Everyone frowns at what I'm saying, and I sigh, "And that's why I finally understand. That's because I'm an idiot. An idiot you can find anywhere got himself incredible power."

Historia gasps after what I said, and she says, "Eren... what are you saying? You're not an idiot. Without you, the island won't have a future."

Aya says, "Queen Historia is right. Eren... there is a reason why you're given the power of the Founding Titan..."

And with the soldiers cheering for me, I feel touched and I wipe my tears, "Thank you, guys... for trusting me like this."

After the usual meeting, Aya decides to accompany me back to my resting place, Aya says, "You know...I'm really jealous of Mikasa, she has been really important to you ever since you were kids, right?"

I say, "She is... but now I don't think that's the case anymore. I did tell her that I always hated her ever since we were kids. And what I said to you guys back then was what I told Armin. I also asked him to keep this a secret to Mikasa."

Aya says, "Eren... when you first turn into a Titan, people fear you for that, but I don't think so. You're the reason why I joined the military, why I joined the Yeagerists, and why I am now the leader. I want to say, thank you."

I look at her with surprise, and she smiles at me. I don't know why, seeing her smile makes me forget the pain I'm feeling in my heart. I say, "Aya... why do you care about me? What am I to you?"

Aya looks at me with surprise at first, but she says, "Do I need a reason why I care about you? And for what I am to you, what do you think?"

I feel a little annoyed and I say, "Back when I asked this question to Mikasa, the rely she gave me was the same as my memories. That's why I have no choice but to do the Rumbling... she only treated me as family."

After that day, my relationship with Aya has become more and more, we share our stories and also enjoy each other's company. Historia also permits to give me a military status if it means getting close to Aya, and she is also happy that I'm starting to open up a little. And after a week, I decided to propose to Aya and have our own wedding.

Most of the high-ranking soldiers attend the wedding because they are trustworthy. Considering that Aya has a role that is similar to the old commander of the Military Police, and I have a role that's similar to Premier Zachary. Historia also attended the wedding with little Ymir and her husband Jake, and I'm grateful that she didn't invite Mikasa so that things wouldn't get awkward for us.

Now it is the vow time, and I say, "Aya, from the moment I met you, my life has been forever changed. And after that, we are now a couple as the guests are cheering for us. However, as the party goes on, we hear the news of the return of the so-called traitors of Eldia. Mostly Jean, Connie, and Armin. I command not to do anything to them as Historia is the one who greets them. However, I'm curious about what happened as both Aya and I decide to listen from the back.

"Looks like the whole capital is busy..." Jean says to Historia. Historia says, "It sure is. Today is the wedding day for our commander of the New Eldia Military and the Premier. You really come in a bad time, you know."

Connie says, "Hey, we just came back from who knows what Eren has done to the outside world, just give us a break."

Armin says, "We will be making a full report. The people need to know about the truth of the outside world."

Historia nods as the three so-called traitors leave and not disturb the party, they probably think that the arty is for Yeagerists and there might be a problem when they are invited. Once Historia is back, I ask, "So what has Armin told you?"

"Nothing serious right now. They are just back from the outside world and they probably have a lot of things to discuss. However, as the premier, are you going to give a trial?" Historia asks.

"Of course. They are still a part of the military. But after the trial, it is their choice to continue staying or not." I say.

"And looks like we don't have much time to have fun tomorrow... just great." Aya says with a frown.

"Don't worry, love. I'm sure we will have time after it is done." I say.

We didn't have the party for too long as we have to give a trial to the survivors of the Rumbling tomorrow, and oh boy, it is not going to be easy. What if they recognize me? No, they won't be able to because Aya has already helped me change my face, unless they have something like the DNA testing, they won't figure out it's me...

And here is a new chapter, in this chapter, Aya and Eren are now a couple, and the rest of the Survey Corps have returned. The next chapter will be the military meeting and the discussion about the Rumbling. I hope you like this chapter.
