Harry Potter and the Force Awakens

CHAPTER TWO

Harry apparated to a few feet from the gates. There stood Kingsley and several aurors. Harry smiled at them.

"Harry? But, how?" asked Kingsley.

Harry waved his wand, the gates opened, and the wards relaxed just a little so they could get in.

"I fixed it," Harry replied. "Come on in. I'll explain on the way up."

They walked to the castle and Harry explained how he repaired it with magic and then fixed the wards. He then explained that it was very important to him, how the castle being destroyed was weighing on him heavily. He talked about losing all the people he cared about in the war and how there was nothing he could do to fix that. However, he could repair the castle. That was something he knew he could do. He was determined to get it done before he could move on.

He just had to be able to fix something after that god-forsaken battle.

Kingsley explained that the Hogwarts floo connections became active again all of a sudden and when he was notified, they put together a team and came out to investigate.

After all was said and done, Harry explained that he had accomplished what he set out to do. He felt he could now move on with his life. He then turned the castle over to the Ministry and wished them good luck on getting the school open again. After Harry introduced Kingsley to the founders and said good-bye to them, he apparated straight from the headmaster's office back to his manor.

One of the aurors tried to apparate inside the castle after Harry left but couldn't. He turned to Kingsley.

"How did Potter apparate in here and we still can't?" he asked.

"Harry informed us that he fixed the wards. He must have put in an exemption for himself."

"I believe Harry is currently recognized as the new headmaster and would be allowed that privilege," offered Godric.

"Thank you, sir. That makes more sense. I've never known Harry to be that good with wards," said Kingsley.

"Rowena and I assisted young Harry some too when he woke our portraits in the ward room." Godric looked over at Rowena and winked.

Rowena just smiled and nodded.

All the other portraits caught that and decided to remain silent, especially since Harry was technically the current headmaster. Previous headmaster portraits were designed to always keep all headmaster secrets. Dumbledore's portrait, however, decided to say something.

"That may be true, Kingsley, but I would never underestimate Harry Potter. He always found a way to surprise me."

"You're right, Albus. I would do well to keep that in mind. Just look at what he's done here all by himself."

"I think you should contact Minerva, Kingsley," Albus suggested. "See if you can talk her out of retirement for a few years until you get the school back on its feet at least. I'm sure she has recovered from her injuries by now."

"That she has. I'm also sure she would love to see what Harry did to the place. Might also be a selling point."

"Indeed, Kingsley, indeed."

Harry was meditating one day for a long period of time when he felt the new power give him a pull and a short vision of a remote mountainside in China. The next day he received the same vision and pull to go there. Thinking this must be important; Harry gathered enough supplies and clothes to take with him on his journey. He put everything in a magically expanded backpack.

He had to disguise himself and go to Diagon Alley to pick up a magical atlas of main apparition points for each country, but once he had it, he was ready for his journey. Leaving his home, he apparated into several countries using the pictures on the map until he made it across into China. Once there, he picked up a magical map of just China so he would have all the specific apparition points of that country at hand.

He thought about making a portkey to the place in his vision but then after he thought about it more, he realized the vision was the side of a mountain and he wasn't certain where he would land using the portkey. Best to wait until he could see it in person, he reasoned.

He was following the pull to the mountainside from the vision he had, but he still needed to get close enough before apparating there. China was a big country after all. Once he could see the right mountains, he would be able to apparate to the exact spot in his vision.

Once he was standing on the side of the mountain, he realized how remote this place was. In fact, he had to make a few small jumps after the map would not get him any closer. The place was very out of the way of any civilization. He could also sense that power very strongly and he felt a pull from it in a certain direction.

Following his senses, Harry made his way slowly and carefully around the mountain, which lacked proper footing, until he came to a large cave entrance. The entrance was hidden from everyone unless you were standing right in front of it. There were other mountains close by that also blocked the cave entrance from the air.

Something told Harry that this cave was man made, especially since it was completely uniform and not natural looking once you got past the entrance and several feet in. Feeling the pull stronger now, Harry entered the dark cave and activated his enhanced sight. It was especially dark in there after coming in from the sunny day outside.

Very carefully, Harry made his way further in. It was quite large on the inside. Once he was about a hundred meters in, he came across what looked like a damaged space ship. It wasn't anything like he had seen on the news. This looked like something far more advanced.

As he drew closer, he could feel that same power getting stronger. Harry searched through the spaceship as best he could until he came across brown robes and what looked like an outfit that no longer had a body in it. He found two skeletons before that but they had different clothes on than these. Unfortunately, all the clothes were mostly disintegrated now. The interesting part was the outfit with the robes did not appear to be made for a human, but the skeletons he found before looked human.

On the floor, still attached to what was left of a belt around the non-human clothes was a metal cylinder with rubber-like grips on part of it. There were also two recessed buttons on it that were separated a bit. Harry picked it up and he felt the new power practically sing to him. He looked at it closely and could see that something probably came out of the holes on each side. They were on both ends of it.

Holding the cylinder out in front of him and away from his body, Harry pushed one of the buttons just like his ambient magic was telling him to do. Suddenly a bright, dark orange light about four feet long sprang out of the end of the cylinder that was the closest to the button he pushed.

The device made a very distinct sound as the light sprang out of it and then hummed after that.

"Pssshew Nnnnnnnnn…."

It was obvious this was an advanced sword of some kind. It was amazing how light it was. Not surprising as the blade seemed to be made out of light. Harry wondered how well it could cut through something but decided to wait until he could test it properly. He pushed the other button and the other side of the cylinder produced a second blade of light of the same color. It also made the same sound. Harry pushed the buttons again and the blades disappeared. He then attached it to his belt and let it hang there for now as he continued his search of the ship.

Harry came across a couple of machines that looked like robots of some sort. One was human shaped in appearance and was all silver looking, but was severely damaged from the crash. Parts of it were scattered around. Another was white with red on it and round like a trashcan and seemed to be in much better shape, although it was turned on its side.

Harry continued to look around to see what he could find. As he searched through what looked like sleeping quarters, he came across a small object that just seemed to be loaded with magic. He couldn't figure out what it did so he picked it up carefully and wrapped it in a conjured cloth then placed it in his backpack. He would look at it again later.

He didn't find much else that survived the crash other than a small electronic device that he thought he might be able to repair. He sent a mild Reparo at the device and watched as it fixed itself and turned on. He couldn't make heads or tails of the language though so he put it in a pocket of his pants. He was wearing some black cargo type trousers that had extra pockets so he slipped it into a wide pocket on the side of his left leg that had Velcro to fasten it.

Going back to the short droid, he set it back on its three wheels, and tried a Scourgify to clean it up then a Reparo on it. This time he sent one a little stronger since the droid was much bigger. All the damage was removed and it appeared to look clean and all better now.

However, it just sat there and did nothing.

Harry started looking for a power switch but it wasn't easy to find on something he wasn't even remotely familiar with. Finally, he found what looked like a possible power button on the back just underneath the bottom of the frame. You just had to push the button to turn it on. Later, he found out you had to hold the button in for about three seconds to turn it off. He supposed it turned itself off after so long a time, however long the ship had been here.

The little machine immediately came to life and started beeping and carrying on. It looked up at Harry, beeped, and whistled at him before heading off. Harry followed it.

"I'm sorry, buddy, but I can't understand what you're saying," Harry explained.

The little guy stopped and spun around. It looked at Harry again then whistled and beeped.

"I'm sorry but I still don't understand. Can you understand me?"

It whistled.

"Hmm, that sounded a little like a 'yes.' What does your 'no' sound like?"

It whistled differently this time.

"Now, 'yes' again so I can hear the difference better."

He uttered the 'yes' whistle.

"Got it! I can understand 'yes' and 'no' now. We're getting somewhere."

It rolled over, stretched out a mechanical arm or something, and tapped the cylinder on Harry's belt.

"I'm not sure what you are asking but I found this on one of the people. I'm not sure if I can explain it, but it talked to me?"

It did the 'yes' whistle.

"So you know what that means?"

Yes again.

Harry sighed. "I wish I did."

The little guy turned and rolled off. It put out a sound like a moan when it came up on each skeleton and the brown robes. But when he came upon the other machine that had a human shape, it became frantic and started trying to put it back together which wasn't that easy given how scattered the parts were and the little machine had no real hands.

Harry walked over and began to help.

"Here, let me do something before you do anything else. I was afraid it was too damaged so I didn't even try. However, since you think it can be fixed then I may have a quicker way. Stand back for a second."

The little machine rolled back away a little bit. Harry then cast a big Reparo on the machine and watched it came back together. He then cleaned it up and cast a second Reparo on it. Harry turned to the little machine.

"Now, your turn."

The little guy was beeping and whistling like crazy. It apparently could not believe what Harry just did with magic. However, it focused on its task and started working on the other machine. It was checking wires, welding, and it looked like soldering too.

"I'm going to leave you to it, buddy. I'm going to see what else I can repair and check out the rest of this cave. I'll be back later."

As Harry walked back through the ship, he noticed a lot of things were scattered around on the floor, which would make it difficult for his new friend to roll around so he cast frequent big repair spells on the ship. That cleaned up all the debris and put everything back to where it belonged. He also cast some strong cleaning spells. When he left the ship, he repaired the outside too. By the time he was done, it didn't even look damaged. Whether or not it would ever run again was questionable though. Harry certainly had no way of knowing how to fix it. Maybe the machines did so they could go back to wherever they came from.

As he searched further back into the cave more, he came upon a tall black door. Harry tried to open it but it wouldn't budge. He then cast a simple unlocking spell and the door clicked. This time it opened when he tried the door again.

He found himself in a long dark hallway. He took a step and was going to activate his sight so he could see, but then lights came on above him. They weren't torches but actual electric lights. Nothing like any lights he had ever seen before, but bright and very effective nonetheless.

Harry continued on down the hallway until he came to what looked like a lift. The doors opened on his approach. Harry cautiously walked in and looked for any buttons to push. There were none. The lift started moving down with Harry in it. He was thinking to himself, "What have I got myself into now?"

He reached out with his power but could not detect any problems. So far, his precognition had not gone off once. Harry shrugged and waited for the elevator ride to end. It didn't take long since it moved at a pretty fast clip. When it stopped, the doors opened and Harry could not believe what he was seeing.

The lift seemed to be in the middle with the facility wrapping around it on all sides.

The place was massive. There was a whole facility underneath this mountain and it looked to be technologically advanced, even more so than current Muggle standards. He wondered how long it had been here. Harry stepped away from the lift and looked around. There wasn't a soul in sight. He reached out to see if he could detect anyone but received nothing back.

Just emptiness.

After several hours of looking around, he realized he hadn't made a dent in the place. It even had several levels. He did find some interesting items though. However, he wasn't sure what they were as everything was in a strange language he didn't recognize, not to mention the advanced technology he wasn't familiar with.

He did find some equipment that had some items next to it that were labeled with words in several languages that he could read. One label had 'English' on it and another had 'French' along with some other familiar languages, such as German and Italian. He wasn't sure what they were used for though.

It had been a long time since he last ate so he figured it was time to take care of that. He decided to check on his little friend before taking a portkey home to eat. He could then create a portkey back when ready to return.

Harry then apparated up to the cave to just outside the ship and in front of its ramp. Walking up the ramp, he heard talking but not a language he understood. He heard the little machine respond with whistles and beeps. Cautiously, Harry entered the ship and found the silver robot up and about. He seemed to be helping the little robot work on the ship.

"I'm back!" Harry announced.

The silver one almost jumped but turned around and stared at Harry. He then started speaking, but in a language Harry could not understand. The little white and red one whistled and beeped at the silver one and that shut it up.

"I'm sorry, but I still can't understand your language," Harry told them.

The silver one paused for just a second then introduced itself.

"Hello, I am D4TU, Cyborg Relations. I speak over a million languages and dialects. I have just learned yours. I take it you do not speak Basic?"

"Hello, I'm Harry Potter," he said startled that he could now communicate with these strange machines, "and no I'm not sure what Basic is. I'm from this planet and I'm pretty sure you and your friend are not from around here. Perhaps you can introduce me to your friend so I know his name too?"

"Yes, Harry Potter, this is Z3A3," he said gesturing to the shorter machine. "While I am considered a protocol droid, Z3 is classified as an astromech droid. Do you not understand Z3? You appear to be a Jedi," he said gesturing to the light sword on my belt.

"Please just call me Harry and I do not know what a Jedi is. Is this the weapon of a Jedi?" Harry asked removing the sword. "I found it on the floor next to the brown robes. As I told Z3, the sword spoke to me."

"That was Master Delmeaux. She was a great Jedi. The Jedi use lightsabers such as that and others that have single blades. They use them in their role as a Jedi. They are very formidable with those lightsabers and their use of the Force."

"The Force?"

"It is the Jedi's power that is used in many different ways. You say Master Delmeaux's lightsaber spoke to you?"

"Yes. That's why I picked it up and kept it."

"Then you must be Force sensitive, Harry."

Harry thought about it for a minute.

"So, this power the Jedi used was called the Force?"

"Yes, they were masters of it."

"In addition to using lightsabers, could they run super-fast, leap high or far, and know things before they happen?"

"Yes, Harry. All of that and more. Do you use the Force too?"

"Yes, I do. I have used it for over two years now, but didn't know its name. Thank you, D4. That was very helpful. Now, tell me what was that language you were speaking before and is that the same one that is written on everything?"

"Galactic Basic. Yes, that is the same as what has been written. Galactic Basic is the common language among most species in the galaxy. It allows everyone to communicate with each other in a shared language, even if they speak a different language on their home planet."

"I see. So, I suppose I should learn this Galactic Basic so I can read and understand all this stuff."

"Yes, Harry. That would be very helpful to you. There should be a station in the facilities here that will teach you Galactic Basic very quickly, along with many other languages, if you so desire. The Jedi also have an ability called Force Telepathy that allows them to comprehend speech and even learn in seconds a new language from another person."

"Really? I would be very interested in learning that skill."

"Master Delmeaux could understand Z3 without my help so I know she was using that ability."

"Looks like I need some more training," Harry said more to himself.

"That would be wise," answered D4 anyway.

"Tell me, D4, how did your ship crash?"

"We were not sure what happened, but the problem seemed to come from one of the crew cabins. Some sort of Force explosion. It effected the ship terribly. Master Delmeaux and the others were no longer able to breathe inside the ship so we were required to land here quickly. We crashed instead. Only Master Delmeaux remained awake long enough to get us into the cave but she passed out before she could land the ship properly. Z3 was trying to repair the damage so was not there to help land it after Master Delmeaux passed out."

Harry reached into his backpack and brought out the item he had wrapped in a cloth. He unwrapped it and showed it to D4.

"This is the only thing I found in the ship that had the Force all over it. I didn't know what it was so I covered it and put it away to look at later."

"That is Master Delmeaux's holocron. She found it on the mission we were on before heading this way."

"What's a holocron?"

"It is a device that holds the teachings of a past Force user. You are able to communicate with it and learn from it."

"That sounds exactly like what I need."

"Just be careful, Harry. If it was that item that caused the damage to the ship then it may be dangerous."

"Duly noted, D4. Say, I need to get some food and probably bring several things back with me so I can stay longer and study what's in that facility. How much longer are you and Z3 going to be here?"

"Most likely three more days before the ship will be ready. It will also need more fuel but there should be some available in this port."

"I'll be back before then and I'll be bringing a friend who can cook for me while I study. I noticed the ship has a galley so he can work with that. The facility below also had a large kitchen so we should be good on that front. I likely will need your help, D4, with the language training in the facility since I'm not familiar with that technology."

"I will help you as much as I can, Harry."

"If it won't take long, then can you come with me and get me started on learning Basic?"

"Certainly, I'd be happy to help."

D4 followed Harry into the lift and back down to the large facility. They went to the area with the languages. D4 found Galactic Basic and showed Harry what to do. Basically, he had to sit in a chair and attach a visor that fit over his eyes and ears. D4 then started the program and waited. Twenty minutes later, it was complete.

On the way back up, D4 explained in Galactic Basic, which Harry now understood, that it would take another few minutes before he was able to speak it. By the time they reached the ship again, Harry was able to speak Galactic Basic.

"Thanks, D4 and Z3. I'll see you guys later," he said in perfect Galactic Basic.

With that, Harry pulled out his wand and tapped his Head of House Potter ring twice and portkeyed back to his manor. The droids were stunned for several seconds when they witnessed him depart that way.

Harry appeared in his manor house.

"Jojo?" he called.

Pop!

A very young and small house elf appeared before him. Jojo was one of the very few elves that survived the castle collapsing. He was only a year old at the time and both his parents were killed. They died protecting him. Harry was part of the group that searched through the rubble for any survivors. He was the only one that went down to the kitchens to check for any elves still alive.

He found Jojo.

Jojo was scared and as soon as he saw Harry, he bonded with him accidentally. Harry picked him up and rescued him from the dangerous castle. He had been with Harry ever since. He was still learning what to do but he had a good sense of his elf duties built-in. He was never underfoot. He just made sure the manor was kept clean and had learned how to cook some while in the kitchens. Harry also showed him how to make a few more dishes.

"Hi, Jojo. I've got news. We are going on a long trip and I will need your help."

"Jojo goes where Harry goes."

"I thought you might say that," Harry replied with a smile. "Get whatever you want to take with you. Go ahead and bring some food, just in case we need it. You can always pop back here if we forget something. I'll need you to cook for me so bring whatever you need from the kitchen. If you need a trunk for what you're taking, then go ahead and grab one for yourself from the extras we have."

Jojo nodded and popped off.

After eating, Harry headed to his training room that had more protections than any other room in the manor. He was determined to see what this holocron was all about. He hoped he could learn more about the force from it.

Harry took it out of his backpack and removed the cloth from it. He then sat it on the reinforced stone floor and cast a strong shield over it. He then sent it a nudge with the Force. A specter tried to rise out of the holocron but was blocked by the shield before it could rise all the way up.

"What is this thing?" he asked irritated, feeling the shield above his head.

Harry expanded the shield so the specter could rise all the way.

"That's better!" he exclaimed. "Now, who dares call on Darth Bane, Dark Lord of the Sith?"

"I do," answered Harry who was already not liking the guy in his armor and mask.

"And who might you be?" asked Bane.

"Harry Potter. I'm hoping you'll teach me about the Force and how to use it."

"Why do you have this shield around me? I have never seen such a thing."

"Because I don't trust you."

"Your smart not to, but what did I do to cause you to be so concerned? I don't believe we've met before."

"It is believed you caused the damage to the crashed ship I found you on."

"Ah, I was on a ship?"

"Yes, you're lucky you survived and if you know what's good for you, you'll behave or I will make sure you don't survive. Understand?"

"Off to a good start I see," Bane said with sarcasm.

"I'll remove the shield but if you try anything like you did on that ship, then you'll be unsuccessful because of the protections on this room and I'll be dangerously pissed. I may not know all there is to know about the Force and its abilities, but I know plenty of other stuff. Here on my planet we use magic. If you mess with me, I'll transfigure you into a potted plant then refuse to water you."

"You don't have that ability. It's impossible!" he declared.

"Then watch this unbeliever!"

Harry conjured a metal box that looked remarkably like Bane's holocron. He then picked it up, showed it to Bane, and proved that it was truly a metal box. Bane was impressed with the conjuring alone. Next, Harry waved his hand and the box turned into a potted plant with a daisy growing in it.

"Satisfied?" asked Harry nonchalantly.

"I believe you, Harry Potter. When do you wish to start?"

"Right now."

"Fine. Tell me what you know so far," Bane demanded.

"I'll tell you what I've figured out just by experimenting and give you a background on my magic, which is native to this world. Then you can start me where you think best."

"I'm listening."

It took a while, but Harry shared everything including his defeat of the powerful Dark Lord Voldemort. He only left off mentioning anything about the Deathly Hallows. He then went over his Krav Maga training and all the Force abilities he had figured out. He mentioned he was 22 years of age and that he had only discovered the Force just before his 20th birthday.
