The first thing that you notice as you almost trip coming out the other side of the portal is the difference in the nature chakra. Back 'home' the chakra almost seemed… mellow for lack of a better word, though it did seem slightly agitated during the war. Here however the chakra almost seemed to swell before falling just to swell again, almost as if it was… breathing? It was also hotter than the average chakra nature, excluding fire of course.

The second thing you notice is that you're no longer within a forest, no you seem to have appeared inside a tent with purple 'walls'. You slowly glance around the tent taking in all the junk piled within the boundaries of the cloth before you hear the sound of talking coming from all around the tent. You grimace slightly before eyeing Senna and find that they are just as confused as you are. You quietly sign a few words at them, "CAUTION. FOLLOW. HANG BACK." as you approach the slit in the tent wall. Carefully peering out of the tent you find an unusual sight before you. The stand just in front of the slit is no different than you would find back in the village, except for one small detail scattered all over the table was a bunch of junk. But that was not what truly caught your attention. All around the tent were various… creatures for lack of a better term. No two were alike from your viewpoint before your awareness was pulled back to the stand in front of you.

You watched slightly wide-eyed as the owl you had been following through the forest lands on a staff. A pale, slightly wrinkled hand grabbed ahold of it and spun it around a full 360, and pulled back to reveal that the once living breathing owl was now nothing but a wood carving that seemed to be connected to the staff. Then you hear the person in front of you start to speak, "Now let's see what you got." You assume the speaker to be female though at this point you have exactly what you should assume and what should be known thrown right out the window. You watch as she goes through the sack the owl had brought her.

In quick succession, you watch as the woman throws a porcelain mask, that honestly reminds you of ANBU more than anything, a golden comb that depicts a traditional Chinese dragon along the handle, and a small statue of what you can only assume to be the Jūbi in a dark black material that you think might be obsidian, all the while the woman casually states that each item she tosses is junk before fishing out what seems to be a pipe at first glance. You assume that the woman will throw the pipe with the rest of the items but watch in disbelief as she instead blows into it causing sparkly bubbles to spew out of the bowl. She seems to crackle slightly at the sight before stating that this item is the one that will make her rich, which you sweatdrop at, the ANBU mask would probably get a decent reward if you knew which village they had hailed from while the other two items would garner a lot of coin if sold to the right person or collector. Then you freeze as the pale figure pulls out your grandmother's journal. You lock eyes on it as you faintly hear her state that the book would make good kindling before beginning to lower the book over a candle flame.

You don't waste a second longer, you flip up the hood of your Hanten and rush the woman. You nimbly vault over the woman and grab ahold of the journal as you subconsciously flare your fire chakra slightly to put out the flame under the book. With a quick twist, the book is out of her hands, and as you twist and flip you catch sight of the woman's look in full. At first, you're hesitant to call this woman a human,(based on the heavily pale skin, pointed ears, and glowing gold eyes), mostly due to how Kisame looked, i.e. a human whose appearance was similar to a shark. But as you land on your feet just on the other side of the stand and stare her down as her eyes narrow at the sight of you.

You wonder what she thinks of you in this strange to her outfit. Pitch-black combat pants cover your lower half while your feet are currently encased in the stereotypical shinobi sandals. Covering your torso is a dark gray shirt with the kanji for cat, 猫, fox, 狐, and mouse, 鼠, in a triangle position written in a bright crimson. Over the top of it is your Hanten in pitch black. You no longer wear your hidden leaf headband, though you do carry a whirlpool one that is not visible. From the hood your deep red hair fans out creating a deep contrast against your pale, but not as pale as her, skin, the hood is unable to contain the volume of your red hair. You watch as she takes this all in, pausing briefly on your hair and face before locking her gold eyes with your blue-green ones. You just barely catch a glint of maybe pain? grief? before she catches herself. Her eyes narrow, and you drop into a slight crouch as a kunai drops from your sleeve into your open palm. You try to relax and try to read the woman's body language but all you know is human body language and whatever she is, their body language is not the same as the humans.

When she sees the kunai in your hand you're surprised to see her nod her head in approval at the implied threat that you're making. "So little witchling, do you know how to use that thing?" You scoff at the question, "If I didn't I would have been six feet under well over a decade ago lady, now the question is will you let me go without a fight?" A brief flash of rage washes over her face before she catches herself, but you don't know at which part the anger is aimed so you carefully raise back to your full height, which you are quick to realize isn't much against the other woman who stands taller than Jiraiya ever did, but you have faced off against worst odds so you try not to let it get to you. The lady motions for you to step closer which you reluctantly do. She waves to what her stand currently holds and you quickly take a glance at the junk before you.

Just as you had thought before the table is riddled with items that you would find at a flea market or something similar. You see dolls, lamps, clocks, anything and everything seems to be on this table. You can't help but let out a low whistle at the sight of everything then you feel a heavy furry weight settle against your side. You look down and eye Senna with a bit of confusion before looking back up at the… what did she call you… witch. You find her staring at Senna a bit when you remember that foxes the size of a St. Bernard with two tails aren't usually what a normal person sees in a day. After spending so much time with summons bigger than an apartment building you sometimes forget what is normal for civilians. Then Senna speaks softly in their beast tongue that you just can just barely translate, "Speak Weird Young Kit What Is This?" This makes you pause slightly before your eyes widen when you realize that this witch has been speaking nothing but English this entire time.

You haven't had a single person to speak to in English since you were reborn. English wasn't even a thing back in the Elemental Nations, not even the Ōtsutsuki Clan made up of ancient horned humanoids knew any English and you would know, you cursed out old Kaguya and her son Hagoromo in a combination of Japanese, English, Spanish, and French during the final battle and they only reacted to the Japanese terms thrown out, assuming the other words were 'made up'.

You speak softly to the fox beside you, in Japanese catching the other woman's attention, "It seems Senna that the natives around here use a different language than the one we are used to. If we end up staying around here I may teach you a few simple phrases to recognize, but for now, watch my body language and if something happens don't be afraid to do something about it okay?" Senna hesitates for a moment before deciding to listen to your decision and settles to sit beside you.

You keep your eyes on them for another moment before turning your attention back to the witch in front of you. You can see her eyeing Senna with a bit of curiosity and remembrance before her gaze returns to yours. You quickly go back through the items of her stand but even with another look through you can tell that she isn't selling anything that might interest you and/or help you.

You swallow slightly before you start to speak, hoping to gain more information from the witch before you. Before you can get a word out however the gray-haired woman starts in with a sales pitch. Most of the items she shows are nothing but junk and mistitled junk at that. Deodorant is labeled as "Human Candy" while Shinobi Sandals are Shoes with holes. Then you catch sight of something partly buried underneath a mountain of junk. You carefully ease the item out and find it to be a shirt, but not your everyday run-of-the-mill shirt, no this one happens to not only have the Uzumaki clan symbol on the sleeve but there are storage seals all around it.

You quickly run through what you have to offer, before remembering that you found an old metal flash of some alcoholic beverage within the ruins. You place the shirt back down on the table and start to rummage within your storage bag. While searching you pull out a mixed bag of marbles and caltrops and the remains of an old violin. Eventually, you do find the flask and hold it out to the woman. "Unfortunately I do not have the cash for this shirt but maybe you would be willing to trade it for a flask of aged Human alcohol?"

This seems to catch the woman's attention at the mere thought of human alcohol. As you watch her mull the idea over you can just start to faintly hear the sound of metal armor clinking and clanking becoming louder with each passing moment. You lean back and peer through the crowd trying to find what is making the racket, no one within the market from what you can see is wearing any sort of armor, never mind metal.

Slowly approaching the stand that you stand in front of is a large burly figure that is quite stout wearing what can only be described as a uniform, their entire body is covered head to toe in a gray-colored tunic with a white cape, alongside a plague doctor's mask, also in gray. You give a slight scoff, catching the witch's attention before stating, "Don't look now, but here comes the fun police lady," which causes her to look in the direction you're staring. You hear her let out a muttered curse before with a circle of her pointer finger everything in her stand starts to pack itself away.

The shirt you had been eyeing is unceremoniously thrown into your face, which you quickly stuff inside your bag as your offered flask is snatched and packed away. Everything is just barely packed away when the… guard(?) reaches the two of you. The guard quickly draws their sword and points it to the gray-haired witch and states, "Eda The Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors," before trailing off as they catch sight of you and Senna idly standing/sitting there. The mask stares at Senna for a few seconds before the words, "What in Titan's name is that?!" echoes through the air.

You and Senna stare blankly at them before you deadpan, "Your worst nightmare, you sorry excuse of a doctor," before you and Senna spring into action. You jump as Senna ducks low. You land feet first on their shoulders as Senna slams their paws into the earth below them. The once solid ground turns into mud beneath the guard as your weight causes them to sink further into the mud. You slam your palms together briefly before slapping the mask they are wearing. The mask is knocked crooked before it glows lightly. There now etched into the mask is a paralyzing seal, one of two that you can make on the fly, the other being the explosive tag.

The guard just has enough time to utter "Huh?" before freezing as their body quickly flashes a pale yellow twice before stopping. You quickly hop off of the now paralyzed guard hoping you hadn't made a huge mistake. Looking back you find that the woman is now looking at you with a bit of interest before pulling out her staff with the owl topper and straddling it. To your great interest instead of reacting to gravity like 'normal' items the staff instead floats and she swiftly brings herself over to you. You eye Senna for a moment before asking them to shrink which they quickly do so thankfully. What was once a very large fox that you could ride without worry is now the size of a six-week-old kitten. They nimbly leap onto you and go about making a temporary home inside your shirt as you settle in behind the witch.

What can only be described as a witchy getaway, your newfound conspirator pushes the staff into what you assume to be its top speed. You think you could go faster when reinforcing your body with chakra and definitely when not using your gravity seals, but compared to the speed of your average civilian oxen cart or horse this easily beats those methods. Your eyes can't help but wander, looking at the strange landscape before you. Not once in your previous lives had you ever seen something as… inhumane for lack of a better word, as this. Red trees and grass as far as you can see, with what you can only assume to be bone, eerily similar to ribs now that you think about it, off in the distance.

You can't help the tilt of interest that peeks into your voice as you softly talk to yourself, "What is this place?" You're not expecting an answer but you get one back nonetheless, "This is the Boiling Isles, a place where every myth the Human realm has come up with has come from." She shoots you a look over one shoulder and gives you a deadpan look before continuing, "Which even the most idiotic of witchlings would know this so this stands to reason kid, who or what are you." You let out a small sigh before eyeing how far up the two of you are and how you were slowly descending into what appeared to be a clearing up ahead. You reply with a soft "Can we at least land before getting into my dark and bloody backstory lady?" Which causes her to softly nod before bringing the two of you to a stop in the aforementioned clearing.

The two of you land and you both dismount the staff, with you staring up at the house/cabin before you. If it weren't for the stained glass window smack dab in the middle of the pediment you would without a doubt call this a cabin. And then you eye the front door where an owl… sign? hanger? hangs. Looking closer you can just barely make out the slight shifting from the door, which makes you briefly remind you of a long-forgotten encounter with mimics. You're not surprised when the owl's eyes open to reveal pitch-black pools as it speaks in a slightly masculine tone that almost reminds you of a famous mouse, but much higher pitch and ear grating. "Hoot Hoot password, please." The witch goes to poke the owl in the eyes only to be stopped when a handless wrist/arm almost bashes into him(?).

You owlishly blink in confusion before staring back at the staff that was still floating behind the two of you. There exactly where she was holding it originally was the detached hand, the radius poking slightly out with no blood to be found. In fact, as you snatch the hand up into your own you find that it appears as if the hand was just simply detached at the wrist itself, similar to a prosthetic. You hand over the woman's hand and watch in fascination as she jabs the two parts together and slightly twists it back and forth for just a moment before removing the hand that hadn't been detached. From there the briefly detached hand stretches out before settling back to what she had been about to do beforehand.

With a mighty thrust of her pointer and middle fingers, she pokes the owl in both of his soulless eyes while telling it to let the two of them in, while also giving the thing the name Hooty, which you think might be taking this owl theme a bit too far, but she hasn't reached jonin level of wackiness so, for now, you won't mention a thing. After getting more or less eaten by a house you find yourself in the foyer/living space of the house. As the candles throughout the room begin to light one after another you can't help your eyes darting around trying to take everything in. The house is insanely messy but this only gives you the feeling that it's lived in, you have never liked living in a minimalistic/ showroom house and this one almost gives off the feeling of an actual home, from several books lying open in various states of being read through to the insane amount of plush toys laying about all over the place. On the walls hang several weapons of various types and in various states of use, but those pale in comparison to what they encompass.

There, right smack dab in the middle of the wall is a large wanted poster of the witch you had come here with. Alongside her is a smaller creature that you could only describe as a Cubone-like creature but in black fur instead of brown skin. Under their picture reads the words "Owl Lady" and underneath that is "Reward: 1,000,000,000,000" Which makes you raise an eyebrow at, even in the prime of his life, your birth father Minato had never reached a bounty higher than a billion, and this was the man that almost completely decimated an entire army during the war and the only one to gain a flee on sight order, so to see someone with a bounty of over a trillion made a few alarms go off in your head.

You take one last look around, taking note of the various entry points before turning your attention back to the 'Owl Lady', who was watching with a look of smugness etched on her face. You calmly fold your arms over your chest and speak, "Nice place you got here Owl Lady. You know if I ever got the chance I would rather live in a place like this rather than some gaudy building that wouldn't look out of place in some home decor magazine. So tell me what you want to know and I just might think about giving you the full story."
