"That was a real mean thing of you to say, Ryuuko!" Nui told me and she wouldn't let me hear the end of it. Mom agreed with Nui, telling me, "Your sister means well, Ryuuko." and some other nonsense like that. I wasn't having any of that and I told 'em as much but, mostly, that I regret nothin' and that I'll do it again. For once, I felt "normal" or whatever that means. We have a nice home with a new mom but Sis still wants to run shit and it's been happening ever since that night.

"I don't even know what happened that night. I just know that Sis busted in the room and told us we needed to get our things. She had blood on her and it didn't come from getting beat on. Next thing I knew, the house was on fire and we were runnin' ever since." I told them before Nui told me not to tell that story and Mama asked what happened before that.

"Satsuki, I will not call your name again!"

"I don't really know, 'cept that Sis put us in our room and told us she'd come and get us before she went downstairs."

"Hush, my dears, I'm going to need you both to stay in this room, DON'T leave until I tell you."

"Then there was screaming but I don't remember what they said but I know some shit broke and then there were noises that sounded like firecrackers. They were like a popping sound and then Sis came upstairs, told us to get our shit, and she had blood on her."

"Pack your things!"

I told them exactly what I remembered, and Nui looked like I put a bug in her food. "You're not supposed to say that story anymore, Ryuuko, now we'll gotta leave again." Nui was hysterical as she told me this and Mama told her that we won't have to leave but asked me more about Sats meant. Nui told her, "Because ever since that night, we've ran."

"Ran?"

"Yes, but I don't remember why, just that we don't have Scarymom anymore."

"Oh..."

"Satsuki told us we can't talk about our old life because we'll have to leave and we wanna stay here."

"Why would you have to leave if Ryuuko talked about your old life, dearie?"

"We were running for a long time. We did stay with a girl and people came and got her."

"That was Rei, Nui."

"Well, she got taken away, after we all got put out on the streets. We kept running until we got here and we've been here ever since."

Mama asked us what more happed that night and I told her, "Ask Sats that because she's only one who knows more than the either of us." Neither one of us knew as much about that night as Sats did and Sats damn sure won't tell.

That night, Satsuki was gone and Mama was worried. Nui looked at me and said, "It's YOUR fault, Ryuuko!" I palmed her across the face and Mama wasn't having that, so I got in some trouble for that, while Mama told Nui, "It's not anyone's fault why she left." I guess Nui damn sure wasn't having that and she went on something, telling her, "If Ryuuko did what Sissie said, then Sissie wouldn't have left!"

After that, we had to go and find Sats.
