It had been a long and sleepless night for Evan. The entire night, he tossed and turned, trying to make a decision regarding his feelings for Rosie. Now, the morning is here and for the first time since he realized his feelings for her, he has made a decision. And he never felt better.
After getting some breakfast, to give him the courage to go forward with his decision, Evan makes his way to Rosie's lab, calm starting to wash over him like a blanket. He doesn't know how she will take it, but he hopes and prays that this won't end with him heartbroken and without his best friend in his life.
Walking into her lab, Evan sees Rosie getting ready to go off-world. It takes him by surprise, since he wasn't expecting her to be going off-world so soon after her suspension, and his courage ends up staying by the door of her lab as he walks closer to her.
-"Hey Rosie." - He smiles at her and sees her smile in return.
-"Hey Evan."
-"Going somewhere?"
-"Yeah. Captain Jackson… You know him, from SGA 5? Well, he went off-world and just radioed back that he found an Ancient outpost and Elizabeth asked Sheppard and his team to take me there to see if I can help McKay figure out what it is."
-"Promise me you'll be careful."
-"Always. See you soon."
Rosie kisses him in the cheek and grabs her bag, before running out the door to meet Sheppard and his team in the jumper bay. Evan follows her, but instead of heading towards the Gate Room to see them off, he goes in search of Sheppard. He has a bad feeling about this mission.
He finds Sheppard halfway to the jumper bay and stops him, asking him to have a moment with him before he leaves, walking with him to the jumper bay.
-"What's up?"
-"I know you're about to go off-world with Rosie to an Ancient outpost. Can you do me a favor and just keep an eye on her?"
-"That goes without saying, Lorne." - He smiles at Lorne. - "Have you decided to tell her how you feel?"
-"I have. And I was going to when she told me she is going off-world with you."
-"I see. I promise to bring her back in one piece, okay?" - Sheppard understands Lorne's request a bit better. He knows the man has been having a hard time figuring out his feelings for Rosalie, so this is major.
-"Thanks, Sheppard."
They reach the jumper bay and Sheppard watches Lorne walking away. He knows that if anything were to happen to Rosalie, Lorne would never be the same. Looking at his team and Rosalie, he thinks that they need to finish this mission quick so his friends can finally be together.
