Getting Started
The boys arrive in Wedgehurst and immediately head for the Pokemon Center there. Once they reach it, they go inside and give the nurse their Pokemon. While they waited for their Pokemon to be treated, they check out the store for pokeballs; but to their disappointment, they didn't have any.
"Well, that sucks." said Stan. "They don't sell pokeballs here."
"I'm sorry, boys." said the salesclerk. "We'll restock on them as soon as we can."
"Can we still buy some Potions?" asked Kyle.
"Sure, we still have plenty of those." said the salesclerk. The boys each buy three Potions for themselves. A few minutes later, they get their Pokemon back, and exit the Pokemon Center.
"So, now what, dudes?" asked Kyle. Just then, Leon and Hop came walking by and see them.
"Hi, guys." said Hop.
"Hey, Hop; hey, Leon." said Stan. Leon notices that the boys looked upset about something.
"What's wrong, boys?" asked Leon.
"We wanted to buy some pokeballs, but the store here doesn't sell them." said Kyle. Leon thinks for a second before reaching into a small bag he keeps under his cape and pulls out twenty pokeballs.
"Here you go." said Leon as he hands the boys the pokeballs.
"Kick ass!" said Cartman.
"Thanks, Mr. Leon." said Kenny.
"You're really giving these to us?" asked Stan.
"I have more pokeballs then I know what to do with." said Leon. "You boys would be doing me a favor by taking them off my hands."
"Thanks a lot, sir." said Stan. He then hands each of his friends five pokeballs, while keeping the other five for himself.
"So, what are you two up to?" asked Kyle.
"We're heading to Professor Magnolia's house." said Hop.
"Professor Magnolia?" replied Kenny.
"She's the leading Pokemon researcher here in the Galar Region." said Leon. "She's also doing research into the Dynamax phenomenon."
"Isn't that when Pokemon become larger than they normally are?" asked Stan.
"Like bigger than Cartman's ass?" asked Kyle.
"Shut up, Kyle!" said Cartman.
"Anyway, we're going there to see if she's learned anything new." said Leon. Stan looks at his friends.
"Maybe we should go there to see if we can learn something." said Stan.
"We can catch and train Pokemon along the way." said Kenny.
"Hey, yeah!" said Cartman.
"We should do some training on Route 1 for Kenny's new Blipbug." suggested Kyle.
"Sure, dude." said Stan. While Leon and Hop head to Professor Magnolia's place, the boys head back to Route 1 to do some training.
Kyle was looking through the grass when he sees a Skwovet in it.
"Dude, a Skwovet," said Kyle. He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Skwovet, the Cheeky Pokemon. Found throughout the Galar region, this Pokémon becomes uneasy if its cheeks are ever completely empty of berries." said Kyle's Rotom Phone. Kyle pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Go, Grookey!" said Kyle, throwing Grookey's pokeball and releasing him. Skwovet turned towards Grookey and glares at him. "Grookey, use Scratch!" Grookey jumps at Skwovet and scratches it with his free hand, knocking it back. Skwovet runs at Grookey and rams him. "I assume that was Tackle. All right, Grookey, let's try your new Branch Poke!" Grookey leaps at Skwovet and hits it with his stick, knocking it to the ground. Kyle takes an empty pokeball out of his backpack and throws it at Skwovet, hitting it and sucking it in; it wiggles around a few times before it clicks, indicating Skwovet's capture. "Dude! I caught a Skwovet!"
"Nice." said Stan. Kyle takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to look up Skwovet's information.
"Okay; my Skwovet's a girl, she knows Tackle and Tail Whip, and she has the Cheek Pouch ability; that restores her health when she eats a berry." said Kyle. He looks at his Grookey. "Good work, Grookey." Grookey jumps up and down, happily.
At another part of Route 1, Kenny has just encountered a Nickit. Kenny takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Nickit, the Fox Pokemon. Aided by the soft pads on its feet, it silently raids the food stores of other Pokémon. It survives off its ill-gotten gains." said Kenny's Rotom Phone.
"Okay, Nickit's a dark type Pokemon, so Blipbug should have the advantage." said Kenny as he pulls Blipbug's pokeball out of his pocket. "Come out, Blipbug!" He throws Bilipbug's pokeball and releases him. Nickit charges at Blipbug with incredible speed and rams him, knocking him back. "You okay, Blipbug?" Blipbug nods in response. "Okay, use Struggle Bug!" Blipbug releases small streams of green energy from his legs, and they hit Nickit, dealing super effective damage to it, knocking it to the ground. As it struggled to get up, Kenny takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Nickit, hitting it and sucking it in; after it wiggles around a few times, it clicks, indicating Nickit's capture. "Woo hoo! I caught a Nickit!"
"Good work, Kenny." said Kyle. Kenny takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to look up Nickit's information.
"This says my Nickit's a boy, he knows Quick Attack and Tail Whip, and he has the Unburden ability, which increases his speed when he eats something he has on him." said Kenny.
With Stan, he and Sobble were facing down a small, blue, birdlike Pokemon. Stan takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Rookidee, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. It will bravely challenge any opponent, no matter how powerful. This Pokémon benefits from every battle—even a defeat increases its strength a bit." said Stan's Rotom Phone.
"Okay, Sobble; use Water Gun!" said Stan. Sobble lets loose a stream of water from his mouth, hitting the Rookidee, who retaliates by flying at Sobble, and jabbing him with its beak. "Oh, yeah? Sobble, use Pound!" Sobble crawls towards the Rookidee and slams his hands onto the Rookidee's head, making it fall onto its back. Seeing it struggle to get up, Stan takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Rookidee, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Awesome, I caught a Rookidee!" said Stan. He looks at his new Rookidee's information on his Rotom Phone. "This says you're a female; you know Peck, Growl, and Power Trip; and you have the Keen Eye ability which prevents your accuracy from being lowered."
Meanwhile, with Cartman and Scorbunny; they were watching a green, caterpillarlike Pokemon with a red protrusion coming out of its forehead; crawling through some grass. Cartman takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Caterpie, the Worm Pokemon. For protection, it releases a horrible stench from the antenna on its head to drive away enemies." said Cartman's Rotom Phone.
"Okay, Scorbunny; let's get it." said Cartman. Scorbunny gets ready for battle, getting the Caterpie's attention. "Use Ember!" Scorbunny breathes out bits of fire from his mouth, hitting the Caterpie and does super effective damage. The Caterpie responds by spraying some thread out of its mouth, which tangles itself around Scorbunny. "Scorbunny, use Tackle!" Scorbunny runs at the Caterpie and rams into it, knocking it to the ground. Cartman quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Caterpie, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Kick ass!" said Cartman. He then looks up Caterpie's information on his Rotom Phone. "This says my Caterpie's a girl, she knows Tackle and String Shot; and she has the Shield Dust ability which prevents any damaging move used on her from having additional effects."
The boys spend a little more time on Route 1, training their new Pokemon for a while.
Stan's Sobble learned Bind, while his Rookidee learned Hone Claws.
Kyle's Grookey learned Taunt, while his Skwovet learned Bite.
Cartman's Scorbunny learned Quick Attack, while though his Caterpie didn't learn any new moves, something just as good happened. After she just beaten a sheeplike Pokemon (Wooloo), she froze up and started to glow while spraying string around herself.
"You guys! My Caterpie's evolving!" said Cartman. His friends gather around Caterpie as she starts to change. When she was done, she was now a green, cocoonlike Pokemon. Cartman takes out his Rotom Phone to see what his Caterpie turned into.
"Metapod, the Cocoon Pokemon, and the evolved form of Caterpie. It is waiting for the moment to evolve. At this stage, it can only harden, so it remains motionless to avoid attack." said the Rotom Phone.
"Kick ass!" shouts Cartman. He looks up his new Metapod's information. "My Metapod knows Harden now, and has the Shed Skin ability, which could cure her of any status condition."
"I can't believe Cartman got one of his Pokemon to evolve first." said Stan.
"We got to step up our training." said Kyle.
"Let's get our Pokemon treated first." suggested Kenny.
"Sure, we can all use a break." said Stan. They return their Pokemon to their pokeballs and head to Wedgehurst. While they were getting their Pokemon treated, they were having some lunch at Stan's house while discussing future plans.
"So I'm thinking that now that our Pokemon have gotten a bit stronger, we can try going up Route 2 to Professor Magnolia's place." suggested Kyle.
"Good idea." said Stan. "Maybe there'll be some more kinds of Pokemon we haven't seen yet there."
"Kewl!" said Cartman. Just then, Sharon comes into the dining room.
"Going over to Professor Magnolia's place?" asked Sharon.
"Yeah, Mom." said Stan.
"I spent time over at her place sometimes." said Sharon. "We sometimes have tea together, and she has some good curry recipes."
"Is that where you learned that spicy egg curry recipe?" asked Stan.
"Yes." said Sharon.
"That stuff was pretty good." said Stan.
"Maybe you can learn some for when you go out into the world and are camping out far from the nearest restaurant." suggested Sharon.
"Good idea, Mom." said Stan. The boys finish eating, clean their dishes, and step out onto Stan's front porch.
"To Professor Magnolia's place!" says Cartman.
"Yeah!" replied Stan, Kyle, and Kenny. The boys head towards Route 2 to continue their adventure.
