Wild Area and Pokemon Dens (Part One)

The boys then start to plan what they were going to do that day.

"We have until tomorrow to build up our teams to earn those endorsements so we can do the Gym Challenge." said Stan.

"What's the plan, dude?" asked Kyle.

"We'll all go off on our own and catch some Pokemon for our teams, as well as train them." said Stan. "We'll meet up in front of the stairs into Motostoke at 12 o' clock for lunch and give our Pokemon a break; after that, we'll keep on training until dinner."

"Sounds good to me." said Kyle.

"Yeah, I don't want you guys getting in my way." said Cartman.

"You'd be getting in all our ways at once, fatass." said Kyle.

"Shut up, Kyle!" said Cartman.

"Let's stop arguing and get to work; we're wasting time." said Kenny.

"Good call, Kenny." said Stan.

"Let's do it." said Kyle. The boys all go off into the Wild Area to get started on their training.

With Stan, he was busy training up the Pokemon in an area called Dappled Grove right now. His Sobble got stronger, his Rookidee learned Pluck, and his Yamper learned Roar. Also, during the training, his Sobble froze up.

"Sobble, what's wrong?" asked Stan. His Sobble then started to glow, and he realized that he was evolving. When Sobble was done, he was taller, his body was a darker shade of blue, his hands and feet were a light shade of green, and the frill on his head was navy blue and purple and hung down over one of his eyes. Stan takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at his newly evolved Sobble.

"Drizzle, the Water Lizard Pokemon, and the evolved form of Sobble. A clever combatant, this Pokémon battles using water balloons created with moisture secreted from its palms." said Stan's Rotom Phone.

"Sweet!" said Stan. He makes his way to an active Pokemon Den. As he got close, his Rotom Phone flies out of his pocket and into the beam of light coming out it where it seems to be gathering energy. "What's my Rotom Phone doing?" His Rotom Phone soon stops what it's doing and flies over to Stan.

"What was that about?" Stan asked himself. He looks his Rotom Phone over and sees nothing wrong with it. Deciding to put it out of his mind, he walks over to the Pokemon Den, takes a deep breath and hops inside. When he does, he sees a barren wasteland with red clouds overhead. He soon sees a VERY LARGE blue, plant bulb-like Pokemon with green leaves coming out of the top of it. Stan takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

"Oddish, the Weed Pokemon. If exposed to moonlight, it starts to move. It roams far and wide at night to scatter its seeds." said Stan's Rotom Phone.

"Better to have a 'weed' Pokemon, than a weed-obsessed father." said Stan. He looks at his Dynamax Band. "Time to try this out. Since that Oddish is part grass type, my Rookidee would be my best choice." He takes out his Rookidee's pokeball and lets her out of it; he then returns her to her pokeball and uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it; he then throws it, letting out Rookidee again, only this time she's Dynamaxed.

"Awesome!" said Stan. He then looks at the Dynamax Oddish in front of him. "Okay, Rookidee, let's try out your Max Airstream!" Rookidee releases a large stream of spiraling wind at the Oddish, hitting it, and doing super effective damage. A surge of energy rises up from Rookidee. "Max Airstream has given you a speed boost, Rookidee." The Oddish then launches seeds out of its body which land around Rookidee, then sprout into grass and mushrooms, which then release flashes of energy which damage Rookidee, but not by much. All of a sudden, grass sprouts out all around them.

"What's going on?" asked Stan. The grass lights up and Oddish's and Rookidee's wounds heal a little. "This grass must heal Pokemon, but at least my Pokemon get healed, too. Rookidee, use Max Airstream again!" Rookidee releases another Max Airstream attack that hits the Oddish, and this time after it hits, the energy in Oddish explodes and freezes it in place. Stan sees his chance to capture it and takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket; he then uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it, then throws it as hard as he can at the Oddish, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball lands on the ground, leaving a small crater, returns to its normal size, wiggles a few times, then clicks.

"Awesome!" said Stan. He runs over and picks it up. As soon as he does, the area got all smokey and he soon finds himself back in the Dappled Grove. "That was weird." He sees some berries and mushrooms with yellow caps were around the Den he was in.

"Where did these come from?" Stan asked himself. He grabs the items and put them in his backpack. He then looks up his new Oddish's information on his Rotom Phone. "This says my new Oddish is a dude, he knows Absorb, Growth, Acid, Sweet Scent, Mega Drain, and Poison Powder; he also has the Chlorophyll ability which doubles his speed when it's really sunny out." As he puts his Rotom Phone away, he hears someone calling out to him.

"Hey, kid!" said a male voice. Stan looks and sees a man wearing hiking gear waving to him.

"You talking to me?" asked Stan.

"Yeah." said the man as he runs over to him. "I saw your Rotom Phone gathering Watts from that Pokemon Den."

"Oh, that's what it was doing?" asked Stan.

"Yes." said the man. "Watts are a very valued resource here in Galar and I have something I'll trade for three hundred of them." Stan looks at his Rotom Phone and sees an icon labeled 'Watt Storage'. He looks at it and sees he has exactly three hundred Watts in it.

"What exactly are you trading?" asked Stan. The man pulls out a small black rock. "What am I gonna do with a rock?"

"This isn't a rock; it's a Wishing Piece." said the man.

"Wishing Piece?" replied Stan.

"If you throw this into an inactive Pokemon Den, it'll make a Pokemon appear in it." said the man.

"Let me check something." said Stan as he uses his Rotom Phone to look up Wishing Pieces; he finds information and learns the man was telling the truth.

"So do we have a deal?" asked the man.

"I don't see why not." said Stan. The man takes out a device and holds it up to Stan's Rotom Phone; the device draws Watts out of it and stores it.

"Thanks, kid." said the man as he hands Stan the Wishing Piece, then walks off somewhere.

"I'll use this later." said Stan as he puts the Wishing Piece in his backpack. After that, he continues to explore the Wild Area.

Kyle was in an area of the Wild Area known as Rolling Fields. His Pokemon got stronger while his Arrokuda learned Bite. During the training, his Grookey suddenly freezes up.

"You okay, dude?" asked Kyle. Grookey begins to glow. "Dude, you're evolving!" Grookey began to grow taller; when the glowing stopped, Grookey was now a lighter shade of green, the area around his eyes were a pale shade of green, he had a tuft of green leaves on his head, he had brown arms with green bands around his wrists, orange hands, and a brown tail; he held a stick in each hand. "Sweet." Kyle pulls out his Rotom Phone and points it at his newly evolved Grookey.

"Thwackey, the Beat Pokemon, and the evolved form of Grookey. The faster a Thwackey can beat out a rhythm with its two sticks, the more respect it wins from its peers." said Kyle's Rotom Phone.

"Cool; and it says when you evolved, you learned Double Hit." said Kyle. Thwackey jumps up and down happily. Thwackey looks past Kyle, who turns towards the direction Thwackey was looking at to see an active Pokemon den near a cliff wall. Kyle returns his Pokemon to their pokeballs and walks over to the den, Once there, he climbs down into it; once inside, he sees a gigantic, grayish green, bipedal Pokemon with straight tusks coming out of the sides of its mouth. Kyle points the pokedex at the Pokemon.

"Axew, the Tusk Pokemon. These Pokémon nest in the ground and use their tusks to crush hard berries. Crushing berries is also how they test each other's strength." said Kyle's Rotom Phone.

"A dragon type; cool." said Kyle. He takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing his Thwackey. He returns it to his pokeball and enlarges it with his Dynamax Band; he throws it and releases Thwackey, now Dynamaxed. "Okay, Thwackey, Max Strike!" Thwackey begins surging with energy; a pillar of energy shoots up from below Axew, damaging it and reducing its speed. Axew releases two streams of black energy and they hit Thwackey, hitting him, and reducing his special defense. "Max Strike again!" Thwackey unleashes another pillar of energy that hits Axew, damaging it. Axew swipes its arm at Thwackey and hits him. "Okay, Thwackey, one more Max Strike!" Thwackey unleashes another Max Strike and hits Thwackey. The energy suddenly explodes around Axew and it freezes. Kyle uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge an empty pokeball and throws it at Axew, hitting it and sucking it in. It crashes onto the ground, and it wiggles around; it shrinks to its regular size and clicks. "Sweet; I caught an Axew!"

It became smokey in the area and when the smoke cleared, Kyle found himself back in the Rolling Fields. Kyle looks around the den and saw two big balls of gold, a couple of lumpy purple berries, and what appered to be a record. "Hey, this must be one of those Techincal Records I learned about in Pokemon School." He looks up Axew's information on his Rotom Phone. "Okay, this says my Axew's a dude, he knows Scratch, Leer, Bite, False Swipe, Assurance, Taunt, and Slash; he has the Mold Breaker ability which makes it that his moves are not affected by an opposing Pokemon's abilities; for example, If Axew used Leer on a Pokemon with the Big Pecks ability, it's defense will still be weakend." Kyle also saw that his Rotom Phone has collected 300 Watts.

Meanwhile in an area of the Wild Area called East Lake Axewell, it was cloudy, and Cartman was training his Pokemon. His Scorbunny got a bit stronger, his Butterfree learned Poison Powder, Stun Spore, and Sleep Powder; and his Zigzagoon learned Baby-Doll Eyes. Zigzagoon also collected a couple of Potions that Cartman can use. Also, during his training, Scorbunny froze up and started to glow.

"Sweet! You're evolving!" asked Cartman. Scorbunny started to change before his eyes. When he finished, Scorbunny was a bit taller, he had three long tufts of fur sticking up from his head, most of his body, except his head, hands, and feet; were black, his arms and shoulders and what looked like a tall collar covering the lower half of his head were red, and across his forehead was a yellow marking that looked like a headband. Cartman takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at his newly evolved Scorbunny.

"Raboot, the Rabbit Pokemon, and the evolved form of Scorbunny. Its thick and fluffy fur protects it from the cold and enables it to use hotter fire moves." said the Rotom Phone.

"Kick ass!" said Cartman. As he looks around, he sees a pandalike Pokemon that had a small green leaf in its mouth, coming out of some grass. Seeing it reminded Cartman of his old stuffed panda, Peter Panda. Cartman takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

"Pancham, the Playful Pokemon. It chooses a Pangoro as its master and then imitates its master's actions. This is how it learns to battle and hunt for prey." said Cartman's Rotom Phone.

"I'm catching this Pancham." said Cartman. He takes out his Butterfree's pokeball and lets her out of it. "Okay, Butterfree; use Gust!" Butterfree flaps her wings and releases a large gust of wind which hits Pancham, doing super effective damage. The Pancham responds by running at Butterfree and ramming into her. "Hey! Butterfree, use Tackle right back at it!" Butterfree flies at the Pancham and slams into it, knocking it to the ground. Cartman sees the Pancham struggling to get up and decides it would be the perfect time to capture it. He takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket, enlarges it, and throws it at the Pancham, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before it clicks.

"Sweet! I caught a Pancham!" said Cartman. He looks up his new Pancham's data on his Rotom Phone. "Okay, my new Pancham is a boy, he knows Tackle, Leer, Arm Thrust, Taunt, and Circle Throw; and he has the Iron Fist abiity which makes his punching moves stronger."

Cartman then uses a Potion on his new Pancham to heal him up a bit, then trains him until he learned Low Sweep.

Kenny was looking around another part of East Lake Axewell, training his Pokemon. His Dottler got stronger, his Nickit learned Snarl, his Seedot learned Rollout, and his Magikarp learned Tackle.

"Fatass is going to be so pissed when he finds out what he passed up on when you evolve, Magikarp." said Kenny. Magikarp nods. Kenny's Seedot suddenly freezes up and begins to glow. "Whoa, you're evolving!" Seedot began to change shape; when she stopped glowing, Seedot had a more humanoid form with arms and legs, she was brown and beige with a green leaf on her head. Kenny points his Rotom Phone at his newly evolved Seedot.

"Nuzleaf, the Wily Pokemon and the evolved form of Seedot. It lives deep in forests. With the leaf on its head, it makes a flute whose song makes listeners uneasy." said Kenny' Rotom Phone.

"This is so cool; and by evolving, you learned Razor Leaf." said Kenny. Nuzleaf smiles in response. Kenny notices an active Pokemon Den; he returns his Pokemon to their pokeballs and walks over to it. He climbs into it; once inside, he sees a huge, gray, rabbitlike Pokemon. He points the Rotom Phone at it.

"Bunnelby, the Digging Pokemon. It excels at digging holes. Using its ears, it can dig a nest 33 feet deep in one night." said Kenny's Rotom Phone. Kenny takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing his Dottler. He returns it to his pokeball and uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it; he tosses it and releases a now Dynamaxed Dottler.

"Okay, Dottler, use Max Flutterby!" said Kenny. Dottler releases a barrage of green butterflies from his body, and they hit Diggersby, damaging it and weakening its special attack strength. Diggersby digs into the ground and burrows towards Dottler, crashing into him and weakening its special attack strength. "Max Mindstorm!" Dottler unleashes a barrage of energy rings from above him and they hit Diggersby, damaging it. Diggersby begins surging with energy and a pillar of energy erupts from below Dottler, damaging him. "One more Max Flutterby!" Dottler unleashes more butterflies at Diggersby, hitting it. The energy around Diggersby explodes and it freezes up. Kenny enlarges an empty pokeball with his Dynamax Band and throws it at Diggersby, hitting it; the pokeball opens and sucks Diggersby in. After it moved around a couple times, it returns to its regular size and clicks. "Woo hoo! I caught a Diggersby!"

Kenny soon found himself outside the Pokemon Den; around it was a big ball of gold, a light orange and red orange berry, and a Technical Record. He picks them up and puts them in his backpack. He uses his Rotom Phone to learn about his new Diggersby.

"Okay, my Diggersby's a girl, she knows Mud-Slap, Leer, Tackle, Laser Focus, Quick Attack, Mud Shot and Flail." said Kenny. "She has the Pickup abiltiy which gives her the chance of finding items." He hears rustling coming from grass nearby; a gray, furry Pokemon walks out of the grass. Kenny points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.

"Minccino, the Chinchilla Pokemon. The way it brushes away grime with its tail can be helpful when cleaning. But its focus on spotlessness can make cleaning more of a hassle." said Kenny's Rotom Phone.

"I did promise Karen I'd find her a cute Pokemon." said Kenny as he pulls out a pokeball. "Magikarp, go!" He tosses Magikarp's pokeball and releases him into the lake. "Magikarp, Tackle!" Magikarp jumps at Minccino and rams it, knocking it back. Minccino runs at Magikarp and pounds him. "Tackle, one more time!" Magikarp rams Minccino again, knocking it to the ground. Kenny takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Minccino, hitting it, and sucking it in. It wiggled around a few times before it clicks.

"Woo hoo! I caught a Minccino for Karen. Good work, Magikarp." said Kenny. Magikarp jumps up and down. Kenny uses his Rotom Phone to learn more about Minccino. "Okay, Minccino's a girl, she knows Pound, Baby-Doll Eyes, Helping Hand and Echoed Voice; she has the Cute Charm ability, which has the chance of inducing a Pokemon that attacks her physically with the attract condition." He uses his Rotom Phone to transfer Minccino to storage and then dials a number.

(One minute later.)

"Okay, thanks, Professor Magnolia, I appreciate it. Goodbye." said Kenny and ends the call. He puts his Rotom Phone away just as his friends show up.

"Hey, Kenny." said Stan.

"Hey, Stan." said Kenny.

"How're you doing, dude?" asked Kyle.

"Pretty good." said Kenny. The boys then showed each other the Pokemon they caught.

"No way; you caught a dragon type, Kyle?!" exclaimed Cartman.

"You bet." replied Kyle.

"That's not fair!" exclaimed Cartman.

"Deal with it, fatass." said Kyle. Cartman lets out a sigh of exasperation.

"Let's have lunch, dudes; I'm hungry." said Cartman.

"Gee, why am I not surprised?" asked Kyle.

"Shut up, Kyle!" said Cartman. Everyone sets up a campfire and start making lunch.

Meanwhile, back in Motostoke at the McCormick residence, Carol and Karen were having lunch together themselves when they hear knocking from their front door.

"Who could that be?" asked Carol as she gets up to answer the door. When she does, she sees Professor Magnolia.

"Good afternoon, Carol." said Professor Magnolia.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Magnolia." replied Carol.

"Is your daughter around?" asked Professor Magnolia. Karen walks over next to her mother.

"Hi, Ms Magnolia." said Karen. Professor Magnolia smiles as she takes a pokeball out of her pocket.

"Your brother caught this and asked me to give this to you." said Professor Magnolia as she hands Karen the pokeball. She looks at it for a few seconds before tossing it up into the air, making it let the Minccino that Kenny caught out of it. Karen looks at the Mincinno with adoration.

"Did Kenny catch this for me?" asked Karen as she bends down to get a close look at Mincinno.

"Yes, he did." said Professor Magnolia. "He also told me to tell you to take good care of her." Karen picks up Mincinno and hugs her, who nuzzled Karen in response.

"I promise I'll take good care of her." said Karen. Professor Magnolia and Carol smile at the scene before them.
