OK, fellow readers. Here is the 35th chapter of this story!
Now, here is the official start of Chapter 4; which I've been wanting to get to all along. I just hope that you enjoy it as I will enjoy writing it.
Anyway, for this chapter, Andrew and his four partners make it to Twilight Town, they meet with the mayor and learn about the pig curse that they've been placed under, and Andrew decides to help the shop manager's wife with getting a Storage Key.
Additionally, two important villagers get turned into pigs, and Andrew encounters his third black chest with a curse that involves turning into a paper tube. And some other stuff will happen too. How will this go for the five of them? Read and find out now!
IN TWILIGHT TOWN:
It didn't take long for Andrew to have come out of the pipe and made it to Twilight Town. As soon as he emerged, he jumped off the pipe, and he got a good look at the place, while his four partners came out of the pipe as well.
In short, Twilight Town pretty much looked like a Halloweentown incarnate, judging by every creepy detail of the place. The houses and buildings were all spooky looking, the ground and area looked orange and brown, there were several dead leaf-less trees around the area, and there were crows seen perching on the branches of the dead trees.
This came complete with the massive yellow full moon that was hovering right over their heads in the orange, pink, and purple gradient-colored sky. There was no doubt about it. This town was in a permanent twilight area.
Andrew then noticed that several of the male villagers looked exactly like Darkly. Or at least those who were still there, as it turns out, several pink-colored pigs lurking around and scampering around. The muscular man had to wonder if pigs were a common sight in this town or not. Either way, a good chunk of the village had pigs.
At that moment, Andrew's four partners jumped off the pipe as they examined their surroundings as well. It didn't take long for Goombella and Koops to make their comments on the area around them.
"Wow, is it twilight already?" Goombella had to ask as she tilted her head.
"Isn't it a bit early for twilight?" Koops queried, scratching his head in confusion at this.
"Uh, Goombella? Koops? I don't think it's twilight," Andrew had to inform them. "I think it's like this out because this happens to be Twilight Town, which lives up to its name."
"Mercy me! That would explain the mysterious air that I'm feeling," Flurrie commented.
"And that also explains why this place gives me the creeps," Yoshiam had to admit while shaking her head.
"Yeah. I guess we've made it to our stop," Andrew now had to cross his arms. "This is Twilight Town all right."
"Hey..." A voice caught their attention as they looked up to see a fellow Twilighter who looked just like Darkly.
"Yes? Can we help you?" Andrew queried.
"Uh, no. It's just that...it's been a long time since anyone's come from...outside," the Twilighter had to admit. "You've come from far away?"
"That's right," Andrew confirmed as he nodded his head with his four partners. "We came here straight from Rogueport."
"Yeah, those clothes of yours..." The Twilighter examined Andrew's clothing. "I'm pretty sure you guys must be...adventurers! Right?"
"You can say that," Andrew nodded. "The five of us are adventurers. Right, Goombella?"
"You betcha," Goombella beamed before the Twilighter started speaking again.
"This is a bad time to arrive," the Twilighter then backtracked as he quickly corrected himself. "Wait, but you're adventurers! ...Maybe it's the perfect time."
Andrew and his four partners had shocked expressions on their faces. Did they just hear this guy correctly? Did he say that this was a bad time before correcting himself?
"Whoa! Hold it, hold it, hold it! A 'bad time'?" Andrew needed to ask. "You said something about it being a 'bad time' for us, did you?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Creepy!" Goombella had to yell.
"Um... That middle part about it being a 'bad time'..." Koops had to ask. "'What's that mean?"
"Whatever do you mean?" Flurrie raised an eyebrow.
"C'mon! Tell us!" Yoshiam demanded that he answer their question.
The Twilighter was very reluctant to tell them about that part, as he was twirling his hands and kicking the ground nervously. This was something Andrew took notice of as he raised his eyebrow and waited for a response.
"Oh, gee whiz, I dunno..." The Twilighter remarked nervously. "It's a scary tale to hear. And scary to tell, too."
Andrew was growing curious about this. Exactly what did he mean by it being scary to hear and tell? Was there something that this Twilighter hiding from them?
Before Andrew could bother questioning them about it, something was heard from far away. It was a loud toll bell that sounded like it was coming from a steeple in the distance. This got the Twilighter on edge along with the other residents that weren't pigs.
Growing a little worried about this, Andrew had to ask in a grim tone. "What was that?"
"Oh no! The bell rang again!" The Twilighter was now panicking as he was prancing back and forth in a panic, before saying. "Oh... This is so awful... Who could it be now?"
Before Andrew could ask what he meant by that, that very Twilighter got engulfed in a thick purple smoke. Once the smoke was gone, it was revealed that the particular Twilighter just turned into a pig. Andrew saw that the pig's eyes were red, indicating that these pigs weren't originally pigs.
While Andrew just sported a shocked expression on his face, all four partners couldn't help but panic at what they had just seen take place in front of them.
"What?! What?! What?!" Goombella panicked. "Omigosh, WHAT'S going on?!"
"Whoawhoawhoawhoawhoa!" Koops yelled in fright at this. "What just happened?"
"Goodness, gracious me!" Flurrie shouted in a dramatic tone. "What might THAT mean?"
"Whoa! That was the craziest thing I've ever seen!" Yoshiam howled at this. "What's going on in this weirdo town?"
"OK, guys," Andrew had to sigh. "Tell me that we didn't just see that Twilighter turn into a pig. What's going on here?"
Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshiam were unable to find an answer to that as they huddled up close to Andrew for comfort. Andrew didn't bother pushing them away, because a part of him was freaked out too.
Before Andrew could say anything else, he heard someone else call out about what just happened.
"Oh, badness..." That voice had to comment. "Now poor Freddy got turned into a pig... Not good."
Andrew and his four partners looked up and saw that it came from another Twilighter. This one was much older; elderly even, as he had a blue head, and blue hands, wore an orange tie, and a red vest shirt over his purple shirt and pants, wore gray shoes, and had some cotton fluff coming out of his temple which looked torn up.
The most important feature that they noticed was that three other cotton puffs that were in the center of his face were likely his eyebrows and his mustache. Finally, he was seen carrying a stick in his left hand, which was likely his cane.
Part of his right side was covered in a dark shadow, resembling that of everyone else who lived in Twilight Town.
"And who might you be?" Flurrie had to ask politely.
"Yeah. Who would you be, sir?" Andrew asked too.
"I'm the mayor of this poor town," the mayor told them as he introduced himself. "Some call me Dour."
"Oh. Well, nice to meet you, Mayor Dour. My name is Andrew. And these four happen to be my partners," Andrew introduced himself before directing him to his partners. "The Goomba girl is Goombella. This shy Koopa is Koops. This glamourous Wind Spirit happens to be Flurrie. And this little Yoshi kid is called Yoshiam."
"Well, ahem. A pleasure to meet you young folks too," Mayor Dour then had to confirm something from them. "I'm not exactly the sharpest fellow, but I do believe you're adventurers, right?"
"That's right," Andrew nodded to confirm this to be true.
"This isn't the place for the telling of tales, sadly," Mayor Dour motioned them to his house which was across from where they were standing to the north. "Come. Come to my home."
Andrew and his four partners glanced at one another as the former decided to ask his team. "What do you guys say? Shall we follow him into his house?"
"I 'totally' think we should," Goombella commented. "We might get answers as to what is happening in this spooky ghost town."
"Yeah..." Koops nodded hastily. "Might as well find out what's happening here..."
"I daresay, it shall be a splendid opportunity," Flurrie proclaimed. "My, my, I do believe that this eerie air here isn't our only concern. Come along."
"Yeah. I guess so," Yoshiam shrugged. "Sure beats standing out here and taking in what just happened."
"OK. That works for me," Andrew said as Mayor Dour walked straight towards his house, with Andrew and his four partners following him.
As soon as Mayor Dour entered, he left the door open for Andrew to come in, along with Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshiam.
The door was closed behind him, and all they saw was a dining room table and some other personal house belongings placed out.
It was then that Mayor Dour got down to business as the five travelers walked right in front of him.
"My traveling friends... Welcome to Twilight Town," Mayor Dour welcomed them before he suddenly spoke in a less than thrilled tone. "Well, I'd LIKE to welcome you... But 'welcoming' people is generally a good thing, and it's nothing but bad here."
"Uh, what do you mean by that, Mr. Mayor Dour?" Andrew had to ask him.
"As you may have guessed...our town has been cursed." Mayor Dour answered his question quickly and honestly.
This got all four of Andrew's partners to jump again at that, as they all gave their reactions while huddling up close to Andrew again for safety.
"Cursed?!" Goombella gasped.
"Ummm... Cursed?!" Koops yelped.
"Oh, my! Cursed?!" Flurrie shouted in her trademark manner.
"Whoa! Cursed?!" Yoshiam yelled in shock.
Andrew, who didn't mind that his four partners were huddling up to him, could only give Mayor Dour a confused look as he raised an eyebrow and asked. "You said the town has been cursed, right?"
"Yes, cursed," Mayor Dour had to nod slowly as he confirmed it. "That is the right word, right? Yes, of course it is."
"Care to elaborate on that for us?" Andrew queried, still raising his eyebrow as he allowed his partners to remain close to him, seeing that he was getting creeped out by this as well.
"Well, you see..." Mayor Dour cleared his throat before explaining to the five of them. "Beyond the town is a forest, and in its heart is an ancient building, the Creepy Steeple."
"The Creepy Steeple?" Andrew and his four partners asked cautiously.
Mayor Dour didn't answer as he continued with a dark tone of voice. "The dark creature who lives there... Its curse ordains that when the steeple bell rings... One of the Twilighters living here in the village...becomes a pig."
Well, that would explain the massive population of pigs that are living in this spooky town. Andrew thought to himself.
"Will my loved ones become swine? Will I, too, become a curly-tailed oinker?" Mayor Dour had to wonder in a dramatic tone. "I'm so worried, I can't sleep at night. Of course, night and day are pretty similar here..."
"That's why it's called Twilight Town, right?" Andrew pointed out.
"If this keeps up...well...the village will be one giant pigpen. Which would be bad," Mayor Dour then had to warn the five travelers in a dark tone of voice. "Let me give you some advice. Leave us! Leave before you, too, get...piggified!"
Andrew had to shake his head at this before he told him. "Sorry, Mr. Dour. We can't leave here. We came to Twilight Town to look for something that's around here."
"Andrew's right," Goombella agreed and spoke up. "We can't do that, Mr. Mayor. We're hunting for something."
"It's called a Crystal Star," Koops added.
"The Crystal Star is this star-shaped rock," Flurrie exclaimed. "Do you know of it?"
"Maybe you've heard of it," Yoshiam told him.
"The Crystal Star that's here is called the Ruby Star," Andrew spoke up. "Do you know anything about the Crystal Star?"
"Uh... I don't know about any Crystal Star thing..." Mayor Dour had to answer honestly before adding. "But in Creepy Steeple... There's a glittery red stone shaped like a star..."
It was then Andrew's eyes flashed for a brief second. Guess they knew where they had to head next, based on what Mayor Dour just revealed to them. His partners were quick to catch on to this as well.
"For real? That totally must be the Crystal Star!" Goombella beamed.
"Wow, 'really'?! I bet that's the Crystal Star!" Koops couldn't help but yell in interest.
"You don't say! That surely must be the Crystal Star!" Flurrie seemed intrigued as she declared.
"Whoa, are you serious?" Yoshiam was also shouting as he jumped up and down. "That's gotta be the Crystal Star! Gotta be!"
"There's no doubt about it," Andrew sighed. "The Crystal Star must be in the Creepy Steeple."
It was then that Mayor Dour felt a shivering crawl down his spine as he quivered in fear and horror. Surely these five adventurers weren't thinking about doing what he feared they were doing, right?
"Uh... You people..." Mayor Dour had struggled to get out. "You aren't thinking of going to Creepy Steeple, are you?!"
No one was willing to answer as Mayor Dour shivered in fear. "Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Unthinkable..."
"Oh don't worry about us, Mr. Mayor. We have done this sort of thing before," Andrew had to tell him. "We're professionals."
"My... My family and friends have all been turned into pigs," Mayor Dour had to explain after catching his breath. "That's...not a good thing. This is the village where we all were born, after all. We can't just leave."
"We know. And that's why we'll be willing to head to Creepy Steeple and take care of this dark creature for you," Andrew promised. "Heck. We can help with getting rid of the pig curse that this town is inflicted by, and get the Ruby Star on top of helping your town out. Don't worry. We'll do something about this."
The Mayor was just unable to say anything. He heard it all if these five travelers were willing to head to Creepy Steeple on their own. The thought made him shiver. Andrew took this as his ticket to leave the house and explore the town a bit.
"Come on, guys," Andrew motioned as he headed for the door. "We better check this town out."
Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshiam nodded as all five of them walked out of the house and decided to check the place out for themselves. Andrew was convinced that this town was a spooky area, even without the pig curse.
"Some creepy place, isn't it?" Andrew asked.
"Tell me about it," Goombella had to voice. "That big moon gives me the heebie-jeebies. I guess the sky here is always the same... No morning, noon, or night... Wouldn't perpetual dusk get a little like, boring?"
"I can't say for sure," Andrew shrugged. "This place looks like the perfect location for people to celebrate Halloween."
"Yeah... That's a good way to describe it," Koops had to gulp. "Place gives me the creep. Bet there are ghosts in the forest outside of town..."
"My, my. Mercy me, this place does give off such an ominous vibe," Flurrie had to wave her hand in front of her face. "I've starred in plays that have a spooky setup, but this is certainly something else."
"Yeah," Andrew tugged on his handkerchief. "Can't argue with you there, Flurrie. The scary movies you've starred in are nothing compared to this."
"Well Presto, this place wigs me out," Yoshiam tried to put on a brave face. "But I'm not scared. I'll be fine once we give that monster a piece of my mind!"
"I know, Yoshiam," Andrew nodded. "But we should probably check out the town first."
Andrew noticed that there was an Inn in this town. And it's one that he could visit later on after going through this area.
Aside from that and two houses, nothing stood out. Not even the many bushes that were nearby, or the flocks of crows that were in a couple of trees.
After he found a Star Piece that he found behind the leftmost house, Andrew motioned his partners to follow him as they continued strolling through town.
They ended up in another part of it which didn't look any different. There was a pumpkin farm behind a wooden fence, and some more dead trees with crows in them, though. Andrew then saw a house right in front of him, which got him a little curious.
"Hey guys," Andrew pointed to it. "We better check this place out."
"Good idea, Andrew," Goombella agreed. "Maybe whoever lives here might know how we can get to Creepy Steeple."
"Ummm... Good thinking, Andrew," Koops nodded. "Let's see what's inside here."
"Why, I do believe that we shall see who lives in this house for ourselves," Flurrie declared.
"Yeah. I guess we can check this place out," Yoshiam said. "Just as long as we can get to the Creepy Steeple sooner."
"Right," Andrew walked up to the door and opened it. "Let's check it out."
Andrew entered the house along with his four partners as they saw who lived there. In the center was a female Twilighter, who looked thicker in appearance than the male Twilighter, she wore a purple bandana over her head, had puffy brown hair, a red dolly smile, wore a pink shirt, a blue apron that matched part of her face that wasn't covered by a shadow, and she wore brown shoes.
Accompanying her were three Twilighter kids, who looked the same as the male Twilighters, but were much younger, had blue skin like their mother, and each of them associated with a particular color.
The oldest brother was associated with blue-green, the middle brother was associated with yellow, and the youngest brother was associated with red-violet. Andrew thought this color scheme between these three brothers seemed eerily familiar to him.
That's strange. Why do the colors that these three boys are wearing seem so very familiar to me? Andrew thought. Where have I seen this from before?
Andrew decided to dismiss the thought as he shook his head and approached the mother of the house. "Uh, excuse me, ma'am? But do you live in this house?"
"Oh, why yes I do, young man," the female Twilighter introduced herself. "My name is Eve."
"Eve?" Andrew blinked at this before he asked. "Tell me, Eve. What's going on in here?"
"Well, you see, I haven't been able to buy food for my children since my husband turned into a pig," Eve explained.
"I see," Andrew crossed his arms.
"Now they're all so hungry... What should I do?" Eve had to wonder.
All three of her children made comments about how they were hungry and that they needed food. Flurrie was a little concerned for them as she gave them pitiful looks at their predicament.
"Kind traveler..." Eve started speaking to Andrew. "If you have some spare food, could you share it with us?"
"Uh, hold on. I think I might have something in my backpack," Andrew took off his backpack, opened it up, and rummaged through it for a few seconds. "Hmmm...Let's see...Uh...No that won't do. That's not food. Errrr...ah-HA!"
Andrew then pulled out a regular Mushroom from his backpack. "Here. I have a spare Mushroom that I had in my backpack. You can have it, ma'am. I've got plenty of these on hand."
"Wow Andrew," Goombella blinked. "You're so thoughtful."
"I know," Andrew then handed the Mushroom over to Eve. "Here you go, ma'am."
"Oh, thank you so much. You've made my children very happy...and me, as well," Eve expressed her gratitude over this. "It's not much, but please take this as thanks."
It was then Eve handed him what appeared to be a Shooting Star item. This was enough to get Andrew to gasp, as he hadn't seen one of these so far on this adventure.
"Holy cow," Andrew blinked. "I didn't know these items could be found here."
"Omigosh Andrew! No kidding," Goombella agreed. "Those items are very hard to find! I say you should save that for a special occasion!"
"I will," Andrew nodded as he put it into his backpack. "Thanks for this, Eve."
"Anytime," Eve then started to ask him. "Oh, and kind traveler... Where do you hail..."
Before she could even finish asking her question, that same toll bell from the Creepy Steeple went off again, getting the five travelers to wince in fright. Seconds later, Eve was surrounded by purple smoke and transformed into a pig. This got her three children to scream in fright as they cried at how their mother turned into a pig.
Andrew and his partners were shocked too. They just gave Eve and her children one of Andrew's mushrooms, and she gave him a Shooting Star for it. And what happens next? She gets transformed into a pig.
"Whoa!" Andrew had to wipe his eyes. "That did NOT just happen!"
"I KNOW she didn't turn into a pig to feed her hungry children..." Goombella had to comment. "That would be TOO gnarly! But that is some spooky timing, I swear..."
"Oh, my stars! Mercy me! What kind of foulminded boar would do something so horrifying enough to leave these poor sweet children without their mother to feed them?!" Flurrie had to cry in her usual manner.
The children made comments about this and how sad and scared they were, with one of them even asking if pigs are good [eating], which gave Andrew some horrifying implications.
"Golly...Ummm...Andrew," Koops had to ask in worry. "You sure about this? I-I don't think this town is safe for us..."
"I know how you feel, Koops," Andrew patted him on the shoulder. "But we need to get that Crystal Star. We better get going. Seems like there is nothing else we can do for now."
"Yeah! Presto is right," Yoshiam agreed. "We better scram from this place."
All five of them exited the house, with Flurrie being a little more reluctant to have to leave the three children alone.
Andrew had to convince her that if they took care of this dark creature, their mother would turn back to normal. Flurrie obliged to this, as the five of them continued walking through the town.
"Well darling, where shall we head to now?" Flurrie had to ask him.
Andrew then looked and saw that there was a store nearby, which caught his attention. "Hey guys! Check out that store. We better go in and see if we get anything that we can stock up on before we head out."
"Gotcha, Andrew," Goombella beamed. "We better load up on supplies before we head off to Twilight Trail."
After nodding, the five of them went into the store to see what was up. Andrew could've sworn that he heard some crying in there, but he decided to put that to the back of his mind for now.
Unfortunately, once they entered the shop, they saw that nothing was set up for sale on the counter. The five of them saw a pig rolling around on the floor, which they assumed was a Twilighter at one point. Near the storage room that was locked was the shopkeeper's wife.
She also looked like a doll person, but her face and hands were purple, she had blonde hair, a red-violet bandana on her head like a housewife, and she wore a red-violet shirt and shoes while wearing a pink apron.
Andrew could see that she had been wiping some tears from her yellow-glowing eyes as she wiped them. Seeming a little curious by this, Andrew approached her and got her attention.
"Excuse me, ma'am," he started. "Are you the owner of this shop? Why hasn't anything been set up?"
"Oh, a customer... Sniff..." The shopowner's wife sniffed while wiping her eyes. "I'm sorry... We're not open right now. Sniff..."
"Well that's rather unfortunate for us," Goombella had to say dryly.
"No kidding," Andrew sighed before he asked something else. "By the way, ma'am, I couldn't help but notice that you're crying. Is there something wrong?"
"Sniff..." The wife decided to reveal it to him. " My husband's been turned into a pig. A pig..."
"I should've guessed," Andrew then looked towards the pig that was nearby. "Is that pig over there your husband?"
"Yes. Sniff... Yes, he was..." The wife decided to exclaim. "Sniff... My husband went to the woods yesterday to collect herbs...But no husband came home... Instead, a pig returned! This pig!"
She then revealed something personal and ironic about her husband. "We got in a fight before he left, and I had called him a chauvinist pig... And now he 'really' is a pig... Sniff..."
It was at this point where the shopowner's wife started speaking at such a fast pace, that Andrew had trouble keeping up with what she was saying.
"But he has a sweet side, too, like cooking my favorite food on my birthday, y'know? And when shoppers get rude, my husband escorts them out in such a manly way, y'know? He's just got so many wonderful things going for him, y'know?" She explained in a fast manner. "I wish he wouldn't dip into the till for cola money, but boys will be boys, y'know? And I could 'really' do without him drying his underwear on the radiator, y'know? And no matter how often I tell him, he drinks milk from the carton, y'know? I don't think it'd be tough for him to change his socks once in a while, y'know? But I have my faults too, y'know?"
Andrew was having so much trouble keeping up that he zoned out in the end. His partners felt the same way as they all looked like they were dizzy, especially Koops, who had his hands on his head.
"Like, maybe I shouldn't have been so hard on him all the time, y'know? I should've told him how I felt about him when I could, y'know? Oh, how could he leave me and turn into a pig like this, y'know?" It was then the wife stopped speaking so fast and spoke normally. "...Yeah. So, ummmmmm... Are you even listening?"
"Huh?" Andrew got out of his zoned-out thoughts as he jumped and nodded. "Oh yeah! Yeah! We were listening about the fact that your husband turned into a pig."
All four of his partners snapped out of it and nodded too. This was good enough for the wife as she then begged them.
"So, hey... Could you figure out some way to restore my husband to normal?" She hoped. "I'll do whatever I can to help."
"Sure. We can take care of this monster and put a stop to this pig curse," Andrew told her sincerely.
"You can even take anything in the storeroom that might help, y'know?" The wife explained to him. "It just needs the shop key, which my husband must've lost near the woods. But I'm sure you can find it, y'know?"
"No worries. We'll find that Shop Key for you," Andrew assured her. "Come on, guys. We have to head to Twilight Trail!"
"Right," all four of them agreed as the five of them left the shop and saw the gate that led out of Twilight Town.
The only problem is that the gate was being guarded by a local Twilighter, who was acting as a gatekeeper.
"Yo, Presto! Check it out!" Yoshiam pointed out. "That guy over there is in front of the gate that probably leads out of this freakishly looking town."
"Good eye there, Yoshiam," Andrew told him. "Let's see if he'll let us by here."
All five of them approached the gatekeeper as Andrew then told him. "Excuse me, sir? But we would like to get by this gate so we can head into Twilight Trail."
"A nasty monster lives in the woods past here," the gatekeeper told him matter-of-factly.
"Yeah. So?" Andrew wasn't fazed by this.
"I'm serious," he said. "That's what somebody said."
"Wait just a minute. You mean to tell me that you'll let EVERYONE in this town turn into pigs," Andrew pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. "And you WON'T allow us by just to show this nasty monster what for?"
"Well, when you put it that way, yes. That's exactly what I'm doing," the gatekeeper told him with no shame or empathy for his kin. "But if you still want to go through even after hearing that, you need the mayor's permission."
"Seriously?" Andrew gave him an annoyed look. "You're seriously pulling this little charade on us? Why am I not surprised?"
His partners didn't like this any better as they all let out collective groans.
"Ha! We've heard that one before!" Goombella gave him a sarcastic laugh before rolling her eyes. "Nasty monster... please."
"Right, right, the old nasty monster beyond the gate," Koops said in slight annoyance. "That sounds familiar."
"Mmmm, yes, a nasty monster beyond the town's borders," Flurrie acted as if the plays and movies she's starred in were known for pulling this kind of stunt. "That does NOT surprise me."
"Oh, man, the old monster beyond the town gate thing?" Yoshiam gripped at this. "Isn't that kinda cliched? You gotta be kidding me."
"Well guys, you know what we need to do to get by here," Andrew sighed as he instructed his partners. "Let's go to the mayor's house."
They simply nodded as they turned around and headed straight for the mayor's house.
Unfortunately, before they could make it halfway towards his house, the tolling bell from the Creepy Steeple started going off again, getting all four of Andrew's partners to jump in fright as they huddled against Andrew again.
"Oh no. The bell rang again," Andrew moaned. "Does that mean someone gonna get turned into...well, you know?"
None of them answered his question. It was apparent that they weren't the victims this time in this little pig curse that had infected Twilight Town.
"Whew... At least it's not me this time." Goombella sighed in relief.
"Phew... I hate to say it, but I'm glad it wasn't me..." Koops agreed with her while panting.
"I must say, I'm relieved the curse didn't strike me... " Flurrie had to express her relief.
"Boy... I'm psyched it wasn't my turn to get pigged." Yoshiam proclaimed, his hand over his chest.
"Yeah. I think we're all lucky that we didn't get turned into pigs," Andrew had to assure his group. "Now we better get to the mayor's house before it's too late."
They didn't object to that as they all scurried back to the mayor's house which was just up ahead.
Once they were in front of Mayor Dour's house, they opened the door and entered with the hope that they could get permission from the mayor to get by the gate.
Sadly, while they were expecting to see the mayor in one piece, what was standing in Mayor Dour's place was a pig. Andrew paled as he already knew what this meant.
"Oh, crud..." Andrew gulped. "Tell me that this pig isn't who I think it is..."
"I know, Andrew," Goombella had to step up. "You don't think this pig... Is the mayor, do you?"
"Oh, man..." Koops had to wince. "This pig probably is Mayor Dour. This is awful!"
"Whatever shall we do now?" Flurrie had to yell dramatically as she held her left hand over her forehead in such a dramatic manner. "We shan't be getting his permission to pass the gate!"
"No kidding, Flurrie! This ain't cool!" Yoshiam had to yell. "We needed that dude's OK to pass through the gate!"
"OK, guys. Maybe we can find some other way to get out of this town," Andrew had to assure them.
"HOW are we gonna do that?" Goombella gave him a look.
"We can always tell the gatekeeper that he gave his OK right before he turned into a pig," Andrew suggested quite desperately.
"Ummm... what if he doesn't buy it?" Koops asked cautiously.
"Then we can get some Boo Sheets that I've heard of and use them to sneak past the gatekeeper unnoticed," Andrew remarked.
"And WHERE are we gonna get Boo Sheets?" Goombella asked him as they left the mayor's house and went back to the gate. "The store isn't open. Even if they were, I'm sure that they don't sell them."
"Well..." Andrew then said to her. "I'll think of something. In the meantime, we better tell the gatekeeper about what I said, and-"
Before Andrew could finish his sentence, the tolling bell from the Creepy Steeple went off again, which got the five of them on edge. They didn't comment on it though, as Andrew found another Star Piece behind the fence near the southeast tree.
After he pocketed that one, he walked over to the gate leading out of Twilight Town, expecting to see the gatekeeper. Only that the gatekeeper wasn't his usual self.
'In fact', he was a pig. It appears that the latest toll bell turned him into a pig, much to the travelers' relief. Andrew figured it out and was relieved that they could make progress.
"Huh? The gatekeeper's gone..." Goombella tilted her head.
"Ummm... Where do you think the gatekeeper went?" Koops scratched his temple again.
"Guys? I don't think the gatekeeper disappeared," Andrew pointed towards the pig. "Rather, I think something happened to him."
"Why, I do believe you're right Andrew, my darling," Flurrie had to admit. "His body has gone missing! He seems to have taken a turn for the swine!"
Goombella had to turn around to give Flurrie a confused look at what she just said.
"Seriously, Flurrie," Goombella had to express her thoughts on that comment. "I dunno if that was supposed to be funny or ironic, given the situation. And why do I feel that that was a line in one of your films?"
"That's because it was," Andrew couldn't help but smirk at what Flurrie just said. "And it was a good movie too. It's one of my favorites. I believe it was called Another Pig's Poison."
"By the stars, that's absolutely what it was from," Flurrie admitted upon remembering. "I do believe that film was quite the classic in my day."
"You said it Flurrie. You said it," Andrew said as he continued smirking at the pig in front of them. "Anyway, this gatekeeper brought this upon himself for allowing the people here to turn into pigs and not let us put a stop to it."
"You're right, Presto! That's 'actually' pretty sweet for us!" Yoshiam declared, throwing a fist pump in the air. "No pig's gonna get in our way!"
"You said it, Yoshiam," Andrew pushed open the gate, disregarding the pig that was in front of them. "Let's get going."
"You betcha, Andrew," Goombella beamed.
"Ummm...OK. We can do this," Koops commented worriedly.
"I daresay that I'm ready for this as well," Flurrie declared.
"Let's rock, Presto," Yoshiam stated, pointing forward toward Twilight Trail.
Andrew could only nod as they walked past the gate, leaving the town behind them for the moment as they had to check out Twilight Trail for themselves...
IN TWILIGHT TRAIL - ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF TWILIGHT TOWN:
As it turns out, Twilight Trail didn't seem much different than the town that the five travelers had just exited from. Then again, they weren't in the forest yet, so they couldn't be sure if it got spookier around here the deeper they went in the woods.
"Well, this is Twilight Trail," Andrew had to rub his chin. "Sure seems just as spooky as Twilight Town."
"You said it. Kind of a depressing little road, don'tcha think?" Goombella proclaimed. "I feel like something bad's GOTTA be at the end of it. ...Maybe I'm just superstitious."
"You're not being superstitious Goombella. This place does seem eerie," Andrew then noticed the abandoned shed nearby. "Look, there's an old abandoned shed over there. Looks like it hasn't been used in a long time."
"Good eye there, Andrew. I'll check it out for us," Goombella walked over and went inside to check it out.
"Now, I believe that the Shop Key must be nearby," Andrew rubbed his chin. "But where?"
"I-I hope it's not in the woods," Koops hoped. "I don't think we'd ever find it if it was in there."
"I'm sure that it isn't in the woods," Andrew assured him. "But we should probably walk some more on this trail."
"OMIGOSH!" Goombella was heard gasping as she ran out of the shed and headed towards Andrew. "Andrew! You're never gonna believe what I found in the shed!"
"What did you find Goombella?" Andrew asked her.
To answer his question, Goombella went ahead and showed him a Black Key. Just the sight of it made him realize one thing; another Black Chest should be nearby.
"Hey ummm... Andrew? That's another Black Key," Koops pointed as he walked over. "Could it go to another spooky Black Chest that's nearby?"
"It's likely, Koops," Andrew took the Black Key. "And we're probably gonna need to open it."
"I beg your pardon?" Flurrie raised an eyebrow at this. "Andrew, whatever do you mean by that? A Black Chest? I am simply curious about this."
"Same here!" Yoshiam agreed as he looked at Andrew. "Presto, dude! What are you talking about with all of this Black Chest stuff?"
"OK. You remember how I got cursed by those two Black Chests in the Rogueport Sewers and Hooktail Castle Flurrie and Yoshiam?" Andrew asked as they nodded. "This key looks exactly like the ones I used to unlock the first two Black Chests. So I guess I'm gonna get my third curse."
"Oh my! My, my, my! Andrew, that sounds simply shocking," Flurrie had to admit. "But if you must find it, then you must! Either way, I do believe that this next curse might prove to be of some use!"
"Yeah. So what are we waiting for?" Yoshiam declared. "Let's go find that Black Chest!"
"Right," Andrew then motioned them to follow along the main path of Twilight Trail, to which all four of them obliged as they stood right by Andrew's side.
It didn't take long for the five of them to encounter some hyper variants of Goombas; Hyper Goombas, Hyper Paragoombas, and Hyper Spiky Goombas. They proved to be a little challenging, but Andrew was able to make quick work out of them with the help of his four partners.
Andrew also gained some coins from a wooden block that was nearby and obtained a Super Shroom from the invisible block above the ?-block that had a coin in it, which Andrew also claimed.
"Wow. This was quite a find," Andrew put the Super Shroom in his backpack. "And those Hyper Goombas sure put up a fight when they charge up their attack."
"Bah, who cares about that!?" Yoshiam declared. "We were able to wipe their hinnies with our special moves. Now they won't be messing with us anytime soon!"
"That's a good point," Andrew agreed.
"Hey, by the way, Andrew," Goombella had to comment. "Is it me, or has the moon been getting bigger?"
"Maybe. It does look like it's towering over us now that we're not in Twilight Town," Andrew looked up to the moon.
"Gee whiz... Sure looks bright," Koops had to shiver. "Kinda spooky too."
"Not... Not that I'm scared or anything!" Goombella had to stutter. "Re...Really!"
"Don't worry, Goombella. You'll be OK since I'm here for you," Andrew assured her. "You too, Koops. Nothing is going to happen to any of you. I'll make sure that nothing happens to you guys."
"Mercy me, Andrew. We know that you are such a dashingly thoughtful and handsome man to look out for the likes of us," Flurrie commented out of flattery. "And in return, we shall make sure nothing happens to you, darling."
"Yeah. What she said," Yoshiam agreed. "Anyone that tries messing with Presto will have to mess with me first."
"I know," Andrew had to smile lightly. "I guess we DO have each others' backs. Which is a good thing, maybe..."
Andrew couldn't help but feel a good sensation from having these four people travel with him like this. He decided not to dwell on it for now, since they have to keep going until they find that Shop Key. He also had to keep his eyes open for the whereabouts of the third Black Chest.
Andrew then realized that the further they walked on Twilight Trail, the better he could see the woods in the distance, which is probably where the Creepy Steeple was located. Their trip came to an end when a knocked-over tree was blocking their way, keeping them from going any further.
Off to the side, near the knocked-over tree was a pig, which caught Andrew's attention. He had a feeling that this pig might've been a Twilighter who got lost along the way right before he got turned into a pig.
"Hey guys," Andrew pointed towards the pig. "There's a pig right here. You think that he might've come from Twilight Town?"
"No doubt, Andrew," Goombella proclaimed. "This pig is a Twilighter. The shock of being cursed made him lose his way, I bet."
"I see. Well, I wish we could proceed further, but this tree is in the way," Andrew had to point out. "We can't get through here."
"Hey, uh, Andrew?" Koops took notice of something on the other side of the fallen tree. "Look over there!"
Andrew took a good glance and saw that it was a key. Specifically, the Shop Key that he was looking for.
"All right! That must be the Shop Key that we're looking for," Andrew then requested. "OK Koops, you know what we need to do to retrieve it."
"Right," Koops nodded before he went into his shell.
Andrew then jumped and kicked him underneath the fallen tree so he could grab the Shop Key before he went right back to Andrew like a boomerang.
The muscular man graciously grabbed the Shop Key from Koops once he went back to him.
"Andrew? D'you suppose that key goes to the storeroom in the shop back in Twilight Town?" Goombella queried as Koops got out of his shell and back onto his legs.
"I guess that there's one way to find out," Andrew turned around and walked back towards Twilight Town. "Let's go back to the Twilight Shop."
"Why, I daresay that that's a smashing idea, dearie," Flurrie smiled. "We shall check out the storeroom for ourselves!"
"Aw yeah!" Yoshiam declared. "Maybe there's something cool in there that we could use! C'mon, Presto! We better get going!"
"I'm already ahead of you!" Andrew announced as he was heading back to Twilight Town.
Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshiam trailed right behind him as they passed the abandoned shed on the outskirts of town.
They could only hope that something in the storeroom would help them get by that fallen tree. But what they didn't know was that they were gonna be in for a big surprise once they entered the storeroom...
IN TWILIGHT TOWN:
It didn't take them long for them to make it back to Twilight Town. Once they arrived, they made it to the store and made their way through. Andrew approached the shopowner's wife as he needed her to let her know what he found.
"Hey, ma'am? You'll never guess what I found," he then showed her the Shop Key that he found with Koops' help.
"Ah, you brought the key!" She said. "Well, go ahead and open the storeroom, if you want. Feel free to take whatever you want out of there. That's a good trade for getting my husband back, I think."
"We were happy to help, I guess. And we'll be glad to," Andrew approached the door and unlocked the padlock with the Shop Key. "OK, let's go see what's in here."
Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshiam nodded as Andrew opened the door once the padlock vanished, with the four of them following after him.
The storeroom was rather cramped, as there wasn't much room in there. There were two vases, two barrels, and a lamp of some kind. Aside from them, there was a Life Shroom, Boo Sheet, and Jammin' Jelly hanging out in the open, along with a brown treasure chest. And right in the middle of the room was a Black Chest.
Andrew's attention wasn't on the Black Chest at the moment, as he grabbed the Life Shroom first. He had already collected one of those, so he wasn't surprised to have found that. What he was surprised about was the fact that there was a Boo Sheet in the storeroom.
"Well, what do you know?" Andrew couldn't help but smirk as he picked up the Boo Sheet. "A Boo Sheet. Some lucky find, isn't it?"
"Oh, forget about the Boo Sheet, Andrew," Goombella motioned him towards the Jammin' Jelly. "Look at the Jammin' Jelly that's lying around here! That stuff is just as rare as the Ultra Shroom!"
"No kidding," Andrew shook his head as he grabbed it. "Both this and the Ultra Shroom are very useful and viable in dire situations."
"By the stars, Andrew," Flurrie motioned him to the brown treasure chest as Andrew put the three items into his backpack. "Look at that brown chest. What do you suppose is in there?"
"Only one way to find out," Andrew approached it and decided to open it up.
Inside the chest was a Defend Plus badge, and this got Andrew to smile. He took out his badge kit and decided to drop the Defend Plus badge right into it.
"Sure are lucky with finding those badges, aren't you Presto," Yoshiam had to admit.
"Yeah. It would appear so," Andrew smiled as he put his badge kit back into his backpack.
"Ummm... Andrew?" Koops then decided to point to the elephant in the room. "Look now. In the center."
Andrew looked at where Koops was pointing, and he managed to take notice of the Black Chest that was there.
"Oh gee," Andrew moaned. "There's the third black chest..."
"Sure seem to be having some rotten luck finding 'em, huh?" Goombella had to comment.
"I take it that this happens to be the Black Chest that you have spoken of earlier, isn't it darling?" Flurrie had to ask.
"Yeah," Yoshiam agreed. "Presto? Is this that Black Chest you talked about earlier."
"Yes, you two," Andrew nodded. "This is the same Black Chest that we found in the Rogueport Sewers and Hooktail Castle."
"Wow, uh, gosh," Koops had to gulp. "Perhaps we should check it out..."
"Yeah. That's what I was thinking, Koops," Goombella agreed. "Might want to see if someone is in this Black Chest too, don'tcha think?"
"We might as well," Andrew sighed as he approached the Black Chest with his four partners behind him.
As soon as Andrew approached the Black Chest, he touched it and then said. "Hello? Anyone in there?"
"Hold up! Hey! Who's there?" The Black Chest reacted. "I just heard a voice!"
The Black Chest had to wiggle before continuing to speak. "There's no way that people could be here! Seriously, that's just so unlikely!"
"Quit it with the charade already," Andrew said dryly. "We've seen two chests that looked identical to this one before."
"Get outta here! Really?" The Black Chest proclaimed.
"I'm serious," Andrew remarked quite wryly. "I can already tell that you're gonna place a horrible fate on me just like the first two Black Chests that I've encountered previously."
"No, no, no! I'm not like those chests, I promise!" The Black Chest insisted. "Look at my eyes. Tell me I'm lying."
"You're lying," Andrew responded flatly.
"I'm not, seriously!" The Black Chest pleaded. "Just get me out of here! Don't make me beg!"
"Honestly, I don't know if I should," Andrew crossed his arms. "I already know for a fact that you're gonna place a curse on me if I let you out of there."
"Come on. You know how ridiculous you sound right now?" The Black Chest proclaimed. "I'm laughing in here."
"I already know what to expect from a Black Chest such as yourself," Andrew pointed out.
"Well, I did plan on doing SOMETHING to you, but it's not so much a curse as a..." The Black Chest cleared its throat before continuing. "Well, a 'really' wonderful new ability that will allow you to go to special places... Doesn't that sound nice?"
"Hmmm... I dunno," Andrew was still doubtful about this as he was thinking. "I seriously don't think this is a good idea..."
"Aw, come on, please? Just find the key and open the chest, OK?" The Black Chest tried its best to convince him. "I know it's here somewhere, I just can't go look for it myself. 'Cause I'm in here. So pretty, pretty please?"
Andrew had to think about this for another moment before he realized something. He had no way of getting passed that knocked-over tree alone. And if the first two curses were really special abilities, it was likely that this next curse might help remedy the situation by getting past that fallen tree.
After a few moments, Andrew had to sigh as he finally said.
"Oh, all right. I guess I can free you," Andrew proclaimed. "And luckily for you, I happened to have found the Black Key that is needed to unlock this Black Chest."
"Oh! Thank goodness!" The Black Chest beamed as Andrew took out the Black Key. "You're going to let me out! Oh, happy day!"
"Yeah. Yeah," Andrew rolled his eyes as he used the Black Key to unlock the Black Chest.
Just like the first two Black Chests, as soon as he unlocked it, the black chest started speaking more maliciously towards him.
"WHEE HEE! FOOOOOLS!" The Black Chest cackled in a spooky tone as the Black Chest opened up.
Well, I should've expected this to happen... Andrew thought with an indifferent expression on his face. He knew what was going to happen next.
Then right on cue, Andrew was engulfed in ominous smog again. Then popping up in front of him was a ghost that looked 'exactly' the same as the ones that he encountered in Rogueport Sewers and Hooktail Castle, respectively. It was then the Ghost spoke to him.
"What were you expecting?" The Ghost asked rhetorically. "Did you think a lovely lady would pop out or something?"
"'Actually' I thought that some refined woman would come out and invite me to sit and chat over a cup of tea," Andrew had a 'really' sarcastic tone in his voice as he said that.
"Make all the witty remarks you want, but it's not gonna save you from THIS fate," the Ghost declared. "Now I'm going to hit you with the king of curses, the cursiest curse ever! Fear my terrible power!"
"Oh no. I'm starting to quiver in fear as a result," Andrew said sarcastically again. "I'm a goner for sure."
"You will know the pain of having your body roll up!" The Ghost bellowed afterwards before placing that curse on Andrew. "BE CUUUUUUUURSED!"
Then just like the past two times, Andrew got struck by a bolt that was filled with some unlimited magical powers, in which its force overcame part of his body afterwards.
"Whee hee hee hee hee! Now you're cursed, loser!" The Ghost told him callously. "Savor your suffering! When this curse strikes you, you won't even be able to walk! That's how awful it is!"
"Well, I guess I better get myself into a wheelchair if I can't walk anymore," Andrew was pulling off the snarky comments as he let out a faux-whimper. "My feet shall never feel the same way again."
"Whee hee hee hee hee! Your suffering amuses me! And so I laugh!" The Ghost cackled some more, oblivious to the fact that Andrew was being sarcastic. "Now show me your cursed plight so I can laugh all the more!"
"Oh goodie," Andrew deadpanned as he rolled his eyes. "How do I do it?"
"Just think of yourself like a flat piece of cardboard," the Ghost instructed him. "Then start spinning around in circles repeatedly!"
Andrew then did just that as he thought of himself like a piece of cardboard before spinning around in circles repeatedly. In a matter of seconds, he ended up rolling his entire body into a paper tube, essentially being able to enter Tube Mode now.
"Whee hee hee hee hee! Your pathetic misery thrills me to the core!" The Ghost couldn't help but taunt him. "You must roll around like a silly cardboard tube! Oh, how you'll be laughed at!"
"Wow. I can already hear the laughter closing in from the walls around me," Andrew retorted in a snarky fashion.
"Now... Do you understand the depth of your 'own' agony?" The Ghost had to ask him.
"Yes, I understand..." Andrew deadpanned again. "I'm willing to accept the consequences of my actions, I guess."
"Whee hee hee hee hee!" The Ghost cackled again before instructing him. "Just shake your head to return to normal! Don't forget, mush-brain!"
"I'll try not to," Andrew told the ghost as he shook his head and he returned to normal afterwards.
"I leave you to suffer, fools!" The Ghost let out one last cackle. "Whee hee hee hee hee!"
Then, just like the past two times, the ghost that cursed Andrew vanished into thin air, as the ominous smog that surrounded Andrew also disappeared from plain sight.
It was apparent that Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshiam had witnessed the whole thing. Goombella and Koops weren't surprised by this, as they witnessed it before; although Koops was still a little unnerved from seeing it.
By contrast, Flurrie and Yoshiam were surprised by what they saw. Flurrie had to gasp in shock with her left hand over her mouth while Yoshiam was wide-eyed as he couldn't believe what he had witnessed.
"Mercy me! Darling! Andrew my handsome muscular man! Are you OK, sweetums," Flurrie floated over to check on him. "'Pray' tell, dearie, did that nasty-looking cad of a ghost do something horrible to you?"
"Yeah, Presto! I've seen some crazy stuff already, but that was seriously wacky!" Yoshiam had to admit while Flurrie was checking Andrew's entire body for herself. "Seriously dude. That ghost didn't rough you up too much, did he?"
"I don't think so. And I'm fine," Andrew then looked at his gloved hands again. "I think I was granted another special ability that was disguised as a curse..."
"Just like the last two that we encountered," Goombella added.
"Yeah," Koops agreed. "Just like the one we saw at Hooktail Castle."
"And I guess that I can turn into a paper tube by going into Tube Mode," Andrew explained. "I also think that you guys enter Tube Mode along with me."
"Why, that sounds 'absolutely' divine!" Flurrie admitted with that flirty look on her face. "Shall we try it out for ourselves? Hmmm, Mr. Hunky Muscles?"
"I have a better idea," Andrew said to Flurrie. "We can use it to get by that fallen tree. If we can get by there, we can make it to Creepy Steeple in no time."
"Aw yeah! That's the stuff, man!" Yoshiam cheered. "This is going to be wicked cool when we try out that new curse that you were given!"
"I 'totally' agree with that," Goombella motioned him towards the door. "Shall we leave this storeroom?"
"Yeah. It's rather cramped in here," Koops had to admit. "And I'm feeling my claustrophobia kicking in again."
"OK. Sure. We can leave the storeroom," Andrew walked over and opened the door. "We got everything that's in here anyway."
With that, all five of them left the storeroom as they were now back in the actual store. The storeowner's wife took notice that they took some stuff out of there, as Andrew grabbed an Inn Coupon that was behind the notice board, which he placed in his backpack.
"You opened the storeroom, I see," the storeowner's wife proclaimed. "Me, I have to get the store ready for business."
"That's good to know," Andrew admitted shyly.
"I sure wish I had my husband back in normal form to help me run the place, y'know?" The storeowner's wife had to admit.
"Don't worry, ma'am. We'll be sure to kick this pig curse to the curb in no time," Andrew assured her. "Isn't that right, guys?"
All four of his partners nodded at that as Andrew led the five of them out of the shop and back to the gate that led out of Twilight Town.
"Well, guys? Shall we get through Twilight Trail and make our way to the Creepy Steeple?" Andrew had to ask his Goomba, Koopa, Wind Spirit, and Yoshi partners.
"Totally," Goombella proclaimed. "I know it'll be scary, but as long as I stick with you Andrew, I should be safe."
"Ummm...I'm ready too," Koops nodded as he held his hands together. "Sure hope nothing supernatural attacks us or something. That wouldn't be good for us."
"By the stars, I shall be ready too, sweetums," Flurrie declared as she held her right hand out in the air. "Even if it might be scary, we must brave our way through these treacherous woods, we must prevail our way to the fourth Crystal Star! WE MUST! The fate of the villagers and that Ruby Star is in our beloved hands!"
"Like 'heck' I'm ready dude! Let's rock, Presto," Yoshiam was more than raring to get going with this. "Who cares if some dumb ghost tries to spook us? We gotta monster to beat up, pummel, kick to the curb, and a Crystal Star to obtain! Let's get this over with!"
"That's what I wanted to hear," Andrew walked forward. "Let's get going."
Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshiam all nodded as they trailed right behind him. They could only wonder what the woods in Twilight Trail could be like for the five of them.
Needless to say, this was only the beginning of their quest to obtain the Ruby Star. And they would encounter some rather bizarre obstacles before they make it to Creepy Steeple. That was a given...
END OF CHAPTER 35...
Yeah. That's it for this chapter. I hope you all enjoyed the first part of Chapter 4.
I have to be honest, the script for the game that is out there doesn't have certain scenes written out, such as the part where Eve turns into a pig. So I had to get the quotes for that scene from a YouTube Playthrough video that includes that scene and several others. It wasn't easy.
As for the partner's quotes, they weren't easy to get. Those quotes aren't found ANYWHERE on the web, so I had to do a ton of research, watch those videos, and play the game myself while resetting several times. That was also something I put a lot of hard work into doing.
Then there's the quote Flurrie made about how the gatekeeper had taken a turn for the swine when he turned into a pig.
I honestly thought that comment was amusing and hilarious, so I decided to include it here. And it does sound like a line that Flurrie would've said in one of her movies.
One last thing, I came up with the name of the movie Another Pig's Poison that Flurrie starred in, which its title is a clear parody of Another Man's Poison. There's no way that the like about taking a turn for the swine was used similarly in that movie. It's just a name that I came up with for it.
Anyway, with that out of the way, the next chapter will involve Andrew and his four partners getting by the woods on Twilight Trail, solving several puzzles getting through what would become a backtracking central, and dealing with Crazee Dayzees, they make it to Creepy Steeple, solve some puzzles there, and some other stuff will happen.
How will this go for the five of them? Read and find out next time, readers!
For now, only if you like, you can leave a review and let me know what you thought of this chapter overall.
Otherwise, I have nothing else to say. So until next time, I hope you all look forward to the remainder of Chapter 4. And with that said, thanks again for reading, everyone!
