A crow haired girl's hazel orbs observed the erratic movement of the enchanted moving stone staircases in the ancient castle, a silver-steel orbed boy standing besides her a look of apprehension on his face as he observed the staircases, a carrot haired boy and round-spectacles wearing boy were being admonished by a bushy haired girl for their foolish attempts to step foot onto various staircases while they were in mid-movement.

The moving staircases finally seemed to settle, not wanting to wait for the staircases to start up once again the five students dashed onto the staircase. The stairs began shifting without any pattern, connecting to another staircase and then disconnecting almost immediately before interlocking with an opposing staircase.

When the staircase at last came to a stop, the five bolted off the staircase. Directly opposite them stood an extremely tall, large wooden arched door. Opening it and entering inside, the sight before them paralyzed the students in fear.

A gigantic mass of fur, with three large heads growling ominously at the five, it's eyes menacingly red, it's teeth jagged and barred at the students.

"Oi what are you lot doing in here ?!" A loud gruff voice said from behind them.

The half-giant escorted the five out of the room containing the beast. The five breathed a collective sigh of relief certain that they had just escaped what would have certainly been a rather unpleasant demise.

"That's what Snape was trying to get past on Halloween, that's why he was limping". The emerald eyed boy blurted out.

"Rubbish, Snape's a Hogwarts teacher he'd do nothin of the sort". The gruff man replied.

"You have to believe us Hagrid, he's after whatever's that three-headed beast is guarding on the third floor, he even tried to kill Harry by jinxing his broom, I saw him he was making eye contact with Harry and saying something in Latin." The bushy haired girl pleaded.

"Codswallop now look I don' know why Harry's broom acted like that, but Snape wouldn' try an' kill a student !" Fumed the large man.

"B-but, I saw him he was making eye contact and saying something in Latin". Insisted the bushy haired girl.

"It was probably just a counter-jinx, which requires eye contact and a Latin incantation." The silver eyed boy countered.

The muggle-born girl remained silent, but the look on her face told him that she didn't believe him.

"Now all five of you listen to me, You forget that room, an' you forget what Fluffy is guarding that's between Professor Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel". The gruff man said.

At the name Nicolas Flamel the crow haired girl's hazel irises and the young Malfoy's silver-steel irises flashed in vague recognition.
