Two twin silver-steel orbs remained open resisting with all their might against the forces of the night which threatened to seal the orbs shut and send the young Malfoy to his slumber. The young pureblood making as little sound as was possible, swiveled and swung his feet over the edges of his canopy bed and planted his feet on the floor. He then made his way to the common room.
The young Malfoy scion mentally grimacing at the thought of having to descend the heavy concrete stairs in the thick of nightfall. His trail of thought was disrupted by the sound of a familiar giggle from behind him.
"Draco, your going to see the duel aren't you ?" The crow haired girl said.
"So what if I am ? Are you going to stop me ?" The young Malfoy challenged.
"No I'm not, I'll come with you, but before we go you might want to change out of your pajamas." The Ravenclaw seeker said, giggling at the black silk pajamas the young pureblood was wearing.
Streaks of crimson colored the young Malfoy's cheeks at the crow haired girl's giggling.
The young pureblood almost immediately headed back to his dormitory to get changed. Returning he noticed an approving smile across the Ravenclaw's face.
"Better ?" The young Malfoy asked.
"Much better". Chang replied still giggling.
As the two made their way to the doorway the young Malfoy for some strange reason that he couldn't quite put his finger on found himself growing rather fond of the sound of the crow haired girl's giggles, often finding a sense of pride in being the source of her giggling.
The golden eyes of the eagle knocker reflected the image of the two Ravenclaws descending down the stone stairs, their movements precise even as the two's feet made contact with the hard, cold, stone steps of Ravenclaw tower, making every effort to minimize the sounds their footwear made as it came into contact with the stone steps.
Arriving at the main staircase of the main castle grounds the crow haired girl's hazel orbs flickered as she heard a cruel voice.
"Sniff around, my sweet, they might be lurking in a corner".
The silver-steel orbs of the boy, and the hazel orbs of the crow haired girl flashed in recognition of the voice.
They silently bolted through the hallway arriving in another room.
"Malfoy ?", said a carrot haired boy.
"Chang ?" Said a bushy haired girl.
"What are you two doing here ?" Asked the emerald orbed, round spectacles wearing boy.
"We came to see the duel." The young Malfoy said.
"Fancy some entertainment did you Malfoy ?" The carrot haired boy spat.
"Well there ain't going to be no duel Blackcroft chickened out." The carrot haired boy continued.
"Unless he didn't chicken out, Blackcroft set a trap and alerted Filch". The young pureblood said.
The four Gryffindor's eyes widened as they took in this possibility. Suddenly they heard the voice of the caretaker ring out.
"There in here someone, probably hiding". The caretaker said.
The timid looking boy broke out into a run, tripping causing himself and the carrot haired boy to collide against a suit of armor, the sound of metal meeting flesh loud enough to rouse the entire castle. The timid looking boy and the carrot haired boy hurriedly scrambled to their feet.
"RUN" The emerald eyed boy declared.
The six broke off into a mad dash not casting glances over their shoulder to see if the caretaker was on their heels. The group of students darted down various hallways taking wild turns as if trying to shake something off. Arriving at a classroom they were greeted with the sight of a spectral figure with flaming spikes for hair, mischievous orange orbs for eyes, grinning from ear to ear, a magician's top-hat sat atop the head of the figure, clad in a black suit with old frilly sleeves underneath, his feet clad in pointy jester shoes.
"Quiet Peeves you'll get us caught". Draco snapped.
"STUDENTS OUT OF BED ! STUDENTS OUT OF BED !" Bellowed the poltergeist.
Not waiting for Filch to tear his ugly head, the six students bolted out of the room dashing down an adjoining hallway, ducking into an empty classroom. Waiting for the caretaker to inevitably catch them when he didn't the students knew it was safe to exit. Returning to their respective dormitories.
