Two silver-steel colored orbs were scrunched tightly shut as a dream played out on the face of the young Malfoy. A genuine smile found its way upon the face of the young pureblood as he lay in the canopy bed.

That morning when the young Malfoy awoke he found it still haunting his mind, his dreams had been plagued by images of that mirror. He could still recall the dreams in crystal clear detail, his father's hand placed over his shoulder, a glint of pride gleaming in the elder Malfoy's eyes.

The day went by the same as yesterday with all the student's who remained at Hogwarts during the winter, at breakfast receiving an address by the Headmaster.

The young Malfoy waited until it was late at night and the remaining Ravenclaws had drifted off into sleep. Darting his head out to see if Cho was gazing at the stars like she usually was, upon confirming that she was the young Malfoy approached the crow haired girl.

"Chang". Draco began, purposely keeping his voice low.

"Draco ?" Cho said, the crow haired girl whipping her neck around to face the young pureblood.

"Come on there's something I need to show you". The young Ravenclaw said.

The crow haired girl's hazel orbs widened at the sense of urgency seeping into his tone.

"What is it Draco ?" The Ravenclaw seeker asked.

"It wouldn't make sense to describe it to you, you'd have to see it for yourself, experience it for yourself." The young Malfoy said.

The crow haired girl's pupils flashed with intrigue. Rising from the couch. She followed the young pureblood to the secret entrance to the main castle library.

Arriving at the main entrance the young pureblood led the Ravenclaw seeker to the room containing the mysterious mirror.

"This is it." Draco said.

"A mirror?" Cho said.

"It's not just any mirror" Draco began, "Can't you see them, my parents ?" Draco asked.

The crow haired girl begun, "No I can't see them", approaching the mirror, she continued, "but I can see my parents, can you see them ?" Cho asked the young Malfoy.

"No" replied Draco.

The duo remained standing in front of the mirror perplexed as to why what they each saw could not be seen by the other, eventually the two made their way back to Ravenclaw tower, the young Malfoy having to tear his eyes away from the mirror.

Several days later and the mirror has still not left Draco Malfoy's mind, the mirror seemed to consume his every thought, his every action.

That night as the young Malfoy made his way to the secret passageway to the main castle library, a voice cut through him.

"Draco, you need to stop seeing the mirror, you're becoming obsessed with it." The crow haired girl said, warning the young pureblood.

"I'm not obsessed." Draco defended, brushing off the warning.

The young pureblood made his way through the secret passageway and into the room with the strange, enchanting mirror.

As the young Malfoy gazed into the mirror transfixed by what he saw a voice cut through him.

"So you have returned, Mr Malfoy ?" A voice said from behind him.

A chill shot through him. Turning his head to identify the source of the sound, standing behind him was the elderly former transfiguration Professor.

"Professor ?" Draco said, surprised.

"Mr Malfoy you are not the first to discover both the gift and curse that is the Mirror or Erised."

"Curse" Draco began incredulous, "How in Merlin's name could this be a curse ?" Draco asked.

"The Mirror of Erised like all mirrors reflects the image of whomever stands before it, but unlike any ordinary mirror the Mirror of Erised reflects the incorporeal, the truest desires of one's heart." The elderly wizard said.

"But how could that be a curse ?" Draco asked.

"Mr Malfoy the more time one spends dwelling on dreams the more blurry the line between dreams and reality shall become."

"The mirror will be taken to a new home soon, I strongly advise refraining from seeking out the mirror Mr Malfoy." The former transfiguration Professor advised.
