The sound of clicking and something poking my face was a way to wake up. Stretching and making all my bones crack while yawning my lungs out was just a Monday. But, it wasn't a Monday, it was Friday.

I had the audacity to ask Dracula to come over early today, before the sunrise. So I had to wake up early. Drac and I had been friends for almost two years and we've gotten closer over time. Today we were going together to Baba's and Renfield's wedding.

Spider, my magical familiar, clicked next to me in bed. "Thanks bud." I pet Spider.

I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to do my morning routine.

I was happy for Baba and Renfield. Turns out the whole time Dracula had Baba imprisoned, they became friends and started a relationship. During Baba's two years of freedom, they traveled around the world and Dracula learned to live more independently. Though Dracula is still very codependent and can't keep a schedule.

Dracula has been learning to be a better person. I even got him to interact with my friends, and the Wishbones introduce him as a distant cousin, to socialize more.

But, he does have some serious separation anxiety. I couldn't leave the country to see my family without Dracula pleading me to stay, or offering to take me himself. And my family is the type to gossip and jump to conclusions. So I wasn't going to introduce him to my family for a while.

Spider clicked their mandibles to hurry me up. "Alright, alight." I patted my face dry with a towel. "Let's pick out some fits and then make breakfast."

I threw a few outfits on the bed and went to make myself breakfast. Putting on a thick robe, I started my coffee machine and made myself a bowl of cereal. I didn't have to make Spider food, since they apparently "feed" off my magic. Something Baba told me while she was teaching me.

After finishing my breakfast and cleaning up, the doorbell rang.

Checking the peephole, I could see Dracula, wearing a purple tux, and the bats. Opening the door, with a smile, I greeted them. "Hey there, good looking."

Dracula blushed and almost dropped his helmet, from his gloved hands. "Hello to you too, Lizzie." He greeted back after composing himself.

I laughed and moved to the side, to let Dracula in. "Get in here, you dork."

The bats giggled and flew down to cuddle me. I went to give them a kiss, but a horrible odor hit me.

"Ew," I threw my head back. "You guys are stinky. Didn't any of you take a bath?" The bats hung their heads in shame. "Why didn't you give them a bath?" I let the bats go and looked at Dracula who closed the door behind him.

"I did give them a bath." Dracula set his helmet on my dining table.

"When?" I asked with my hands on my hips.

Dracula froze and started to tap his chin in thought."Um."

I shook my head. "You are such an airhead sometimes." I went to change my robe into an apron. "Let's get you boys all cleaned up."

"I am not an airhead." Dracula muttered as I went to get my apron; from a hook off the pantry door.

"You are an airhead, a very cute airhead, airhead." I teased as I walked out.

Humming in my kitchen/dining room, I plugged one of the sink bowls to fill with water. I was wearing a wrap around apron and rubber gloves as the sink filled half way. I poured in a bit of dish soap and shut off the water.

"Is this really necessary?" Dracula asked, sitting at the dinner table.

"The boys need to look their best at the wedding." Said 'boys' willingly splashed into the sink. "Besides, my mom always bathed me and my brother in the sink when we were little."

"They're bats not babies." Dracula shook his head.

"Same difference." I grabbed a few toothbrushes and let the bats start cleaning themselves. "Besides, it's not like you're going to do it." I scrubbed one bat at a time with my gloved hands.

"Is this why you asked me to come before sunrise?" Dracula asked, slightly annoyed. "To make sure that the bats were at their best?"

"No, I also wanted some help on what to wear." I pushed the faucet towards the empty sink bowl. "I can't decide on what to wear."

"Women." I heard him mutter.

Turning on the water, the bats scrambled to rinse off. "How long did it take Renfield to convince you to wear that tux, instead of your regular suit?" I unplugged the full sink bowl.

"Um." Dracula nervously rubbed the back of his neck and avoided looking at me.

"You're wearing it underneath aren't you?" I smirked at him, taking off the apron and gloves.

"You know it protects me from sunlight." Dracula put a hand over his heart, looking offended. When he looked at me he sputtered. "What on Earth are you wearing?" His face flushed.

I looked down at my sleepwear; a pink long sleeved cropped shirt and matching booty shorts. "These are my jammies." I shoved my hands into the short's pockets. "And they have pockets." Walking over the windows, I made sure the curtains were properly closed. "Now come on, let me show you what I've picked out."

We walked into my room, where the outfits I picked out laid on the bed. It was a decent sized bedroom. Mostly because the dining room, kitchen, and living room are just one open space. The furniture in my room consisted of; a full bed, a drawer with a mirror, a red armchair, two bookshelves, and a wardrobe. The wardrobe mostly held my own creations while the walk-in closet held my regular clothing.

I picked up my first option; a blue, long sleeved, collared shirt and a pink long skirt. "What do you think?"

He looked displeased. "Too casual."

"Alright, that also takes out the jean option." I discarded the fit on top of my other rejected option.

"Jeans? At a wedding?" He sounded scandalized.

"Guys usually wear their best jeans at weddings." I grabbed a navy blue and white, striped skirt suit. "And this one?"

He tilted his head with a look of disbelief. "You really do need help."

"Oh come on." I threw the option aside. "How about this one, it's the last one." It was a light blue, floral, long, sundress. Dracula pulled a face and my stomach dropped. "What's wrong with it? It's a dress." I felt perplexed.

"Well it certainly is a dress," he stressed his words, "but it's typically worn in outings rather than weddings."

I flopped on my bed in defeat. "Now what am I going to wear?"

"Do you hear that?" Dracula asked.

"Huh?" I tried to listen to what he was hearing. It sounded like scratching. I got up to hear where it was coming from. The sound was coming from the closest. Why was there scratching in my closet? "Spider!" I quickly opened the door.

When I looked down, Spider was chattering angrily. "Sorry." I completely forgot about them while picking out outfits. They had something on the floor with them. "What's that?" I picked it up and they crawled up to my shoulder. Spider had picked a red bodycon dress, with a rose pattern. "Huh, how about this one?" I showed Dracula the dress.

He gave a small smile. "It is quite presentable."

A smile spread on my face. "Alright! Now shoo, I have to change."

As soon as he left I changed into the dress. I paired it with black wedges and clipped roses on the side to match the dress. Letting the roses guide my look, I put on a collar necklace made of roses and rose bud earrings. I did a full face of makeup, but then wondered what I should do with my hair.

After two years of growing it out, I was left with ten inches of my natural hair color and the faded red dye at the ends. It wasn't a bad look, but what could I do with it? Before I got any ideas, Spider quickly gave me a side braid. They then placed rose pattern hair clips; on the opposite side of the braid, to hold back any stray hairs.

"Thank you, Spider." They chattered happily.

I grabbed a small red backpack so Spider could ride in, and walked out of my room to see Dracula scowling at the bats. They seemed to have managed to get water all over the floor. As he started to apologize, I waved it off.

"Don't worry about it." Spider handed me my wand. "Wet no longer, make things stronger." The floor was covered in black smoke and tiny golden spiders. Once it disappeared, the floor was completely free of water, and water damage, because of the spell.

"Honestly, they should know better." Dracula snarled at them one more time, before turning to face me. His face slackened and his mouth dropped wide open.

"I assume that you like the dress." I gave a twirl. Laughing, I walked over to close Dracula's mouth. "Careful, you'll catch flies." The bats giggled at that.

Dracula seemed to finally regain his composure. "My apologies, Lizzie. You look rather stunning."

"Thanks, Dracula." I picked up his helmet from the dining table. "You should probably wear this now, I'm sure the sun is already up." I handed it to him to wear. Once it was on I opened the living room curtains. Sure enough the sun was out. "Alright boys, go get the Wishbones and make sure they aren't late." I opened the window and they flew out before giving me a salute.

Dracula extended his arm to me. "Well now, my dear, let's get to that wedding."
