Chapter 18: Epilogue

A/N: Alright, here we are the final chapter. I never thought that I'd get to this point. I hit a block so many times with this story I can't even count. I'm not exactly happy with the whole thing but I love some of the scenes that I've put in.

25 Years Later…

Rory POV

Colin and I were celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary. My parents had gone all out to make sure that it was the celebration of the lifetime. They'd placed pictures up of the people that were no longer here to celebrate with us…Grandma and Grandpa Gilmore; Andrew McCrae; Francine; And Dad. The Gilmores' had died about five years after Colin and I had been married…they'd died in a car crash during a snow storm. Andrew had died from cancer back when Colin and I were still trying to figure things out. Francine had died not long after the Gilmore's…she'd had a stroke. Dad…that had been a hard one for me. It had happened about ten years ago. He'd been out riding his motorcycle that he tended to do from time to time, when he got hit. They told us that he'd died on impact. It had been a hard time because Colin and I had just found out that we were expecting our second child, our son…Andrew Richard.

Things with our friends had been…strange, I guess is the right word. While Colin and I were doing great, Logan and Steph were not. I'd ended up helping them with their divorce. Their prenup wasn't as ironclad as Logan had thought. Steph ended up with a nice payout from it, thanks to me. Steph was now engaged to Tristan of all people, while Logan was miserable and back living in London. Robert and Juliet had gone to Vegas with some of us and had drunkenly gotten married. They surprised us all by agreeing to give it a real chance. They now had two kids of their own. Finn…There's not a lot to really say about Finn. He's the eternal bachelor. Still running his family's company while being an amazing uncle to all the kids in the group. Then there's Rosemary. She still models for Steph sometimes but she mostly runs Steph's boutique out in California, since Steph moved to Boston to be with Tristan.

Mom had been devastated when Grandma and Grandpa died. Granted her relationship with Grandma had always been rocky, she was still crushed when they died. She been surprised when their will had been read. While I had been named the heiress of the family fortune, they'd left mom and Luke their Hartford house. Mom couldn't believe it. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do with it… she didn't want to sell it, because after all it was the family home but at the same time she didn't want to live in it. After some remodeling, she'd offered the house to Colin and I. After discussions, Colin and I moved our family from New York back to Hartford. It became beneficial when I was needed more in Hartford and Colin didn't mind the day to day drive from Hartford to New York. With the move to Hartford, Colin and I decided that it was perfect because then we'd be able to send the kids to Chilton, which made me happy.

It still amazed me how much more I loved Colin each and every day. It amazed me that once upon a time I thought that Tristan might have been my future but in the end, I'd found my way back to Colin, who I truly loved. I'd once believed that I was truly in love with Logan but he'd just been the one to lead me to Colin, who I found new ways to love each and every day. You never know who your meant to be with or what the journey will lead you…
