Kazuto laid in his bed, on Air Temple Island. "Everything hurts and I can't feel my limbs," Kazuto said, looking at his hands shaking, heavily panting as he sweats. Pema whipped his forehead. "You need to rest, whatever you got injected with is doing something to your system." Zakuto closed his eyes.
He remembered when he was a child. Ten years old and his father threw him down a waterfall. "Aaaahhhh!" Kazuto swam out. "Dad, what's the point of this?!" Zorig thought for a moment and answered, "Watch!" He smiled before jumping off the waterfall. Zorig jumped from the top head first and he spun around jets of fire launched from his feet, stopping before hitting the water. "Hahaha! See!" He flew up and backflipped onto the edge of the waterfall. "Wait, why didn't you tell me how to do that?" Kazuto asked, confused.
Zorig smiled. "Because I wanted you to see what your reward will be. If you want to learn to fly, climb up that waterfall." Kazuto started. "What does this have to do with fire bending?" Zorig smiled. "Control and breathe son! Now watch me." Zorig climbed the water and he watched as a dome of steam formed in front of him.
Zakuto stared and tried the same, concentrating, and then got pushed back and fell to the raging waters. Zorig looked from the bottom, panting seeing his father practicing water-bending forms, he Jumped back up and attempted again, but he fell and hit a rock. Kazuto got out of the water and looked at his open wound. "Argh! Dammit." He sat up and Zorig came down. "It hurts." Zorig placed his palm on the wound and Zorig watched purple flames surround his entire arm and his father's hand, yet it didn't hurt as Zorig took his hand off Kazuto saw his wound had healed, a scar was there but it didn't hurt. "How did you do that?" Zorig smiled.
"Son, I just bent my chi to your body to make it heal faster, using the fire as a catalyst." Kazuto just stared at his hand. "So it's like water healing?" Zorig made a confirming noise, yet decided to explain further. "Yes and no, It's like I supercharged your cells to heal as fast as possible. Instead redirect energy to the wound, charging the entire body muscles, organs, and cells with Chi." Kazuto contemplated looking at the water. "Then why don't fire benders healers?" Zorig sighed. "Because you have to both be able to control your chi to the point that lightning bending is a simple task and be able to bend the temperature of fire not cause further damage. As you have to separate and crash your negative and positive Chi. Then use that to charge your cells, though there is one side effect." Zorig looked at his nails and so did Zakuto. "Wait They grew! They weren't this long!" He said jumping up, to look at his toes. "Faster healing also means after growth of hair, nails and skin." Kazuto nodded. "So if I overused this I could age faster?" Zorig shakes his head.
"Yes and no, luckily otherwise I should look like I'm in my eighties, when you master it you can make it so that your body wastes so little energy and make it work more like how water benders use it than, what a novice would do. I will teach it to you when you reach the top." He flew back to the top.
Zorig decided to meditate and focus. He attempted again, focusing on his breath and heat forming dome, though it wasn't complete and he fell a few times. "WHY DO I HAVE TO CLIMB UP?!" Kazuto demanded in Rage breathing heavily. "Because I know once I teach you how to perform it you will master it easily, it wouldn't be gratifying, nothing that isn't earned is rewarding." Zorig lay on the ground centering himself.
He jumped at the wall and fought through the raging waters, steam erupting around as he did fighting nature itself. He stood up at the top, to find a dragon on the top. Kazuto bowed to it and was engulfed in fire.
He slowly opened his eyes. "How am I still alive?" He asked while getting dressed, all his muscles felt stiff leather. He came out of the house and the moment he saw equalists standing over Lin, rage took over and a slash of fire launched away. "Get away from my dad's ex-girlfriend!" The Equalists regrouped but then Jinora Flew Launched their lieutenant onto the roof. Ikki came with an air scooter running them over and Kazuto just watched. "Girls!" He raised his hand. "They can handle themselves." Meelo came and farted into an equalist face. "TASTE MY FURY!" With that, the equalists were taken care of and Kazuto burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" Lin asked, crossing her arms. "They got beaten by children! And two of them aren't even masters!" One tried to stand up and got stomped to the ground. "YOU GOT BEATEN BY CHILDREN!"
Lin joined in, and then the white Lotus came and tied up the equalists. "Where's Korra and Tenzin? What's been happening? I feel like I haven't gotten any information." Jinora answered, "You've been in a coma for almost a week and the equalists are attacking." He was shocked yet nodded. "So we're at War?" A massive pillar of blue fire erupted from the city. "What is that?" Kazuto smiled. "That's your aunt waking up," Lin told the airbenders.
We Cut to Zaya breaking the wrist of an equalist and surrounded by more. "I had hoped to see my Son or at least my family and not you Parasites." She threw the equalist into the hospital and stood outside of the hospital.
"This is neutral ground, I won't allow you to remove or force anyone out, and if you have wounded bring them to be healed. I will be civil, I am no monster." The Healer came to look at the wounded equalist wrist, as Zaya looked at the half-melted Mechatank. "I overdid it this time." Tenzin came to her. "Zaya We need to leave." Zaya shook her head. "Tenzin, take your children and wife to Kazuko. I swore to protect the weak and these people need protection." Tenzin gave a trusting nod and flew on to his air bison. "Korra make sure to beat some equalists." She gave her a thumbs up.
Kazuto stood outside of the house. Tenzin arrived and was pleasantly shocked to see Kuzon. "Go to her, he's waiting to meet you." Tenzin smiled and ran Inside. Kazuto smiled and then saw Korra and her Gang. "Kazuto you're awake!" He stretched the last stiff muscles. "Yeah, still need a bit of training to get everything in order, and— They don't give up." Korra noticed the change in tone and turned to see the incoming airships. "You tell Tenzin and the acolytes to prepare the bison, white lotus form a defensive wall and turn the ground to Gravel make sure those hocks can't dig into anything." The White lotus nodded, and Kazuto went to Tenzin's office. "Hello, tell my aunt Kazuko that family will be coming." He walked outside. Korra looked at Tenzin. "What will you do?" He answered. "I have to protect my family, we will be leaving." Lin joined the conversation. "If you're leaving I'm coming with you." Tenzin attempted to argue. "No buts, You and your Family are one of the last airbenders we can't let Amon get his hands on you or your children." Tenzin nodded. "Thank you, Lin." Korra looked to Tenzin "You will have to wait Korra." She nodded. "I have to be patient." Tenzin smiled at her. "You learned well."
Kazuto looked at the Airships heading closer, he started generating massive amounts of lightning circling and crackling. He redirected back into himself, conceding, colliding, and kneading. "HOLD YOUR EARS!" They did as demanded and everything went silent and thunder erupted, purple lighting flew across the skies hitting the closest equalist ships.
Interior one.
Chaos was the best way to describe it as the defensive measures against lightning bending fail "WHAT IS HAPPENING?!" One Pilot demanded as Sato looked at the Yield of energy. "This is impossible, this is the power of a Lighting storm!" He beat on the controls in rage, as the airship started to sink.
Kazuto stood still and hid his right hand, Meelo and Ikki were excited. "That was amazing!" Kazuto looked at the airbenders. "I made a-an opening, g-get to the southern air temple b-b-before you disappoint your niece." He said with a strained smirk but Tenzin saw through his pain, instead he decided to help his children Oogi. "W-What's their name?" Kazuto asked. "Rohan, I bet Kazuko will be spoiling you won't she?" Pema said to her youngest son. "Be careful!" Tenzin told them and they flew off, allowing Kazuto to collapse. "Kazuto!" Korra said, catching him, and saw his right arm had reddened, burning scars of cascading lightning. "You need to leave." One of the white lotus said. "But—" Korra noticed more airships arriving. "We will handle it, he needs treatment now." The gang jumped on Naga and rode off as airships started to arrive. On the way off the Island Naga slapped the lieutenant out of the air as she jumped into the water Korra bending a water bubble around them.
Once they reach the sewer outlet Korra places Kazuto on the ground and tries to heal his arm. "No." He told her. "I need to heal you, you could lose your arm." He growled. "Then use some clean water or else I will lose my arm." Korra calmed down from her panic. "Sorry, It's just." Mako placed a hand on Korra's shoulder. "We understand, let's just keep walking and find a place a place to rest." Kazuto got placed on Naga and they walked. Bolin decided to strike up a conversation. "So how did you do that awesome lightning bending?" Kazuto sighed. "Leave him alone Bolin," Mako said But Kazuto decided to explain. "My family calls it advanced lightning bending, my grandmother started it."
Mako nodded. "What makes it "advanced" is there a secret?" Kazuto nodded, trying his best to ignore the pain. "Its main difference is how one treats chi. After doing it the normal way, you then collide the negative and positive chi, those that didn't collide, release them into arcs and redirect them back into your stomach, Creating a storm of energy inside yourself." Mako thought about it and had a realization. "But it would be almost impossible to control so much power, even if you could generate it. Either your body would give out or the lightning would hit you back and lighting would try to find other ways of escape." Kazuto made a ding ding ding noise effect. "Yep, my father taught me and my sister a simple version of it. When we practiced it, we released the lightning from our stomach to our legs into the ground. I only did what I did because I wanted to ensure they wouldn't be followed." Mako understood. "You wanted to protect your family." Kazuto nodded.
"HEY YOU!" They took on Defensive poses. "Wait, you're the homeless man from the park." Gommu nodded. "And you're the Avatar! Nice to see you got out, it's not safe on the top side. Follow me." Korra looked at the Gang but didn't see another Option. "Don't be slow pokes!" They arrived hidden underground. "Welcome to Harmony Tunnels! Or some like to call it the secret tunnel!" One group of musicians there started singing. Korra stepped up to Gommu. "Do you have clean water, our friend needs some healing." He smiled and brought a bowl of water.
"Anything for Zaya's Grandson." Asami turned to him. "You know her?" He smiled. "Yes, she's the one who always gives me a thousand yuan, though she always tells me to buy a suit." He chuckles. "Do you know where is she? Last we saw her she was protecting the hospital." Kazuto looked at his hand after Korra was done, his hand was still shaking, otherwise, he could make a fist. "She can handle herself no matter what the threat." He told Korra hiding a drop of worry.
Zaya Looked at equalists surrounding the entrance of the hospital, she looked at the statue of Katara. "I'm not stepping away." She told the lieutenant. They stepped aside to allow Amon to take center stage, Zaya glared, "Unless you have a medical emergency please leave." Amon spoke. "Is this because I am undeserving to enter here?" Zaya answered. "All those wounded, injured, sick, and in pained souls may rest here, you're not either. Except mentally." Amon spoke. "All benders are sick and I am here to cure them." Zaya crossed her arms. "They're all people of healing and none of them need your treatment." They stared off at each other.
Zaya surrounded the entrance with a wall of blue fire. "You just want to hurt people, you attack weak fools, children who don't know how to fight, yet unlike those providers, Zolt, or everyone else I'm not a novice." She launched into a Kink Which Amon jumped away from as it had cracked the sidewalk. Zaya flew up, made a distance between them, and started firing at him, he fluently dodged and when he prepared to strike her, she created a wall of fire in front of him forcing jump back before falling into it.
They stared down at each other, Zaya attempted to lightning bend at him. He ran and attempted the same trick he had done on Zolt only for her to backflip land on his back and launch herself off, Amon fell for once. Zaya made a wheel of fire and launched it, but she froze He ran up to her and placed his thumb on her forehead. "AAAAAARRRRGGHHHHHH!" She lost consciousness. The fires lowered and equalists started entering the hospital and the lieutenant saw nothing.
The entire place was empty, all the Doctors and nurses were gone. "They're all gone sir." A subordinate told him, Amon stood silently, cursing under his breath.
The doctors and patients had fled underground to the shock of the team as they went to secret tunnels.
On the high seas, an officer came to the bridge, and read the codes. "General I just received a wire from the avatar. She says Amon and his forces have gained control of the city. How do you want to respond?" He told Iroh. "Tell her we will be arriving in three days, and I will be looking forward to retaking Republic City together." The officer saluted. "As you wish general Iroh." The officer left.
Zorig chuckled. "What?" Iroh asked him. "Just cute seeing my little cousin being tough." Iroh sighed. "By three years." Zorig stood next to him. "Sailing into the waves of mystery, The crew laughed with glee, Ignoring the water rising, it came to the knees, Until it swallowed the crew whole, And the ship sank, never to be seen, Until its ghostly remains haunt the shallow seas" Iroh sighed. "You think I'm not being cautious?"
Zorig shakes his Head. "No, I think you're being too arrogant to believe you can defeat an enemy before sizing them up. paper jumps the stream, the wind carries it forward, now it's in the water. That will be you if you don't practice caution." Iroh sighed. "Why're you even here?" Zorig took a cookie out of a bag. "We needed a ride." Iroh's face palmed, annoyed at his family member. "You're lucky that the White lotus requested you here." Zorig side hugged him.
