Chapter 55
Spider-Man couldn't believe his luck, the factory that Venom had selected for his battle with him was in fact a foundry and while there was nobody inside, there were still plenty of fire sources that he could put to use. He now just needed to get the Symbiote separated from Billy, after which he could finish it off with anything here fire related, the vats of molten metal were his best option, but for now he needed to focus on how to deal with the main threat, Venom himself. Leaping to his feet Spidey turned to look towards the window he had been thrown in through and sure enough, at that moment, Venom leapt through with a roar and landed heavily.
"We are going to make you suffer, little spider." He growled. "You will regret being so sentimental, we cannot be beaten, cannot be separated, your efforts are futile."
Spider-Man stretched his neck muscles out and then readied himself. "We'll see about that, I've already got things figured out, don't know if you noticed but I've got an advantage here."
"We will see about that!"
With that Venom lunged for him but Spidey quickly dodged and flipped in mid-air, noting that Venom seemed to have finally realized their surroundings and realized his mistake.
Venom froze, seemingly finally showing fear for the first time.
"No, no, it can't-"
But before he could continue or try anything to escape, Spidey acted and hit him with another sonic blast, making him roar in pain and flail as he partially began to break off from Billy.
'Just a little more should do it, but...uh-oh.' He thought but that was all he had time to think.
Before he could think of anything else, he was suddenly snared with one of Venom's webs and was yanked in quickly and aggressively. He was not able to avoid being grabbed by Venom and groaned in pain as he slammed against the floor.
"You!" Venom roared. "We will correct this mistake!"
"Not gonna happen!" Spidey yelled back.
With that he used his webs, acting quickly to leave Venom temporarily trapped. Venom growled and worked at pulling himself free, Spidey knew exactly what he had to do, but first he had to soften Venom up a little first.
"You won't stop us, you-!" Venom began to roar, only to be cut off by yet another face full of web.
Spidey then closed in and began to work on pummelling Venom while he was still blinded from the webs. He knew he couldn't depend on his Spider-Sense, so he was watching carefully, worriedly, for any attack from Venom.
Sure enough it came and this time he was able to dodge, leaping backwards and avoiding the attempted strike from Venom as he ripped the webs off his face.
"We will crush you now, you have toyed with us for the last time!"
Spider-Man shook his head. "No Venom, it's over for you, this is the end for you."
With that he struck out with more sonic blasts, this time he used them consecutively, making Venom stagger and shriek as he began to falling apart until finally Billy was visible as the Symbiote began to melt off him. That was when Spidey took his chance and used his webs again, this time yanking Billy towards him.
"Whoa!" Billy cried out before landing heavily on the ground and groaning.
Venom now had no solid form but was beginning to take a rough shape similar to the one it had before.
"Goodbye, Venom." Spidey said firmly.
He hit Venom with two more sonic blasts, making it writhe away only to end up spilling into the molten metal in the vat right behind it, leaving it to burn inside, Spidey grabbed Billy and left the interior of the factory.
"You...oh God, this...please, I-" Billy was stammering, clearly remembering what happened and desperate.
Spidey shook his head. "Sorry, the best I can do is...let you survive, you're going to have to wait for the police."
Billy shuddered but, surprisingly, nodded as he was set down. "Y-yeah…"
He was clearly broken and fearful, but just glad it was over, he'd surrendered. Taking that as a good sign, Spidey left him there, sending a report to Hopper to come pick Billy up while he returned to the roof. He was relieved to see Mike had actually managed to get free and now stood there, smiling widely as he saw him.
"Hey…" He began.
Spider-Man grinned and hurried over to him and they hugged tightly.
They finally parted and Mike grinned.
"I knew you'd make it."
"I'm sorry I took so long." Will said softly.
Mike shook his head. "It's okay, I know why and I'm just glad you saved everyone."
Will grinned and was about to reach for his mask when suddenly his Spider-Sense began blaring.
"Look out!" He cried.
He tried to throw Mike to safety and leap out the way but it was too late and the pumpkin bomb exploded, they both ended up falling onto the ground while another bomb exploded and the large factory chimney up above ended up falling onto Will, practically burying him.
"No!" He cried out.
He looked up in horror to see Mike struggling to his feet only for a strong cable toe lash out from the Goblin Glider and wrap itself around Mike's torso, pinning his arms and lifting him off the ground.
"Mike!"
Mike struggled and kicked. "No, get off, this…!"
The Goblin laughed. "Aww, what a shame, all that effort and it was all for nothing, you couldn't even protect the one you cared about most."
"Let him go!" Spider-Man cried out.
"Not a chance." The Goblin scoffed. "You want him, come and get him, I'll see you at Oscorp Tower!"
With that he flew off, taking Mike with him.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
