Good evening readers: What are we thinking of all this so far? Are we glad that we have more characters already starting to appear in the story, or do you wish that I should've waited a bit longer. Let me know what you think in the comments.
Chapter Six
"I think I might be interested in designing." -Alex Casey
She finally said it out loud, the fact that she may be interested in designing; it was, after all, a statement that she's been waiting to tell her boss for the longest time. That she was not only interested in being a model for the company, but that she was also interested in designing for the company; if only she'd let her, which is precisely what they're talking about right now. Whether Christie would be open to letting her design. "It's not like I really have a choice." Alex was confused as she heard her new sister-in-law say that, not understanding why she wouldn't have a choice in the matter. "What are you talking about? I have no clue what you mean when you say that." Christie laughed as she heard Alex say that, before just looking at her as she tried to just let her realize what she meant. She didn't want to have to point it out to her sister-in-law, as she knew that she was much smarter than that. However, it seemed like she was going to have to point it out to her; the fact that her brother could literally just order her to let her design, if he chose to do so. "You do realize that you're married to my boss, right?" Realizing that, Alex snickered as she looked at her sister-in-law.
After all, that's precisely what Matt is in relation to his sister; he's her boss as he is the company's Chairman and CEO. "I mean, you do still have your ways to get your way." Christie laughed. "Well, I did…until now." Alex was confused when she heard Christie say that, until she heard her husband speak to her. "She used to hold the fact that she knew about us over my head, threatened to tell Hallie." Alex just glared at Christie when she said that. "Excuse me? You did what now!" Christie laughed. "Alex, all the models knew that you guys were together. They saw it whenever he came to visit you while you do photoshoots, they saw you make out and sneak away to spend time with each other in your dressing room." Alex smiled, well aware of what she was talking about; after all, she and Matt did have a lot of fun in those nice dressing rooms. "Then again, they are private rooms that belong to Matt." Christie laughed. "I heard that you guys actually have a reserved one, which you added in a murphy bed." Alex blushed when Christie said that. "No comment." Christie was shocked. "You're kidding! I thought they were just kidding when I heard that. Which room is it so that I know?"
Alex smiled. "It's the biggest changing room for the head of the line." Christie agreed with Alex, as that made sense. "Plus, that's not the only place where we had fun with each other." And let's just say that Matt didn't like that. "ALEX! Can you please not share our hiding spots at work? What if I want to hide from her at work?!" Christie laughed. "Matt, I already know them. Your office, the change room, and then your penthouse bedroom." Alex smirked as Christie said that. "Or, our penthouse in general." Christie smiled when she heard Alex say that. "Wow, and you guys haven't gotten pregnant yet? I'm shocked!" Alex agreed with Christie, as she was just as shocked. "Tell me about it. I'm surprised that I'm not pregnant either, but back to what I was saying." Christie agreed with her sister-in-law as she said that, more than ready to keep talking about what she wanted to talk to her about: her coming on board the Casey design team for the clothing line. "So, you're really interested in switching to designing?" Alex smirked, as she most certainly is interested in switching to the design team; rather than stay in the modelling game, for the sake of her marriage to Matt.
And no, it's not at all related to jealousy; but, you already knew that. Rather, it was related to their dream of having kids. "You already know why. I want to have kids with Matt, so I want to be in a job where I can let my body go if you know what I mean. I don't want to have to worry about being so small that I need to eat a certain way, when I'd rather just eat what I want as I need energy to…" Christie then put her hands up, as she already knew what she was trying to say. She needed to keep her energy up so that she and Matt could make love and try for a kid as much as possible. "I already know what you're trying to tell me Alex; so, there's no need to tell me in detail." Alex agreed with Christie as she said that, well aware that was the case. "I think you'd be a good aunt, just for what it's worth." Christie agreed with Alex, smiling at her. "I just hope that I get to be a godmother in the future. I'm worried that he may choose Heather and Andy." Alex smiled, well aware of why that would be the case. "I mean, they did make him their sons' godfather. Both of them." Christie agreed with Alex, well aware that was the case. "But, I'm going to be your kids' aunt. That's different."
Alex agreed with Christie, well aware that was the case. "I know, and me and Matt are going to talk about it to make sure what we're on the same page when it comes to that. However, I'm not pregnant yet; so, that means that we don't need to talk about that for at least a year…depending on when we get pregnant with our kid." Christie agreed with Alex as she said that. "I love how you said when, not if you get pregnant with your kid." Alex laughed. "I'm just as determined as Matt to get pregnant. I want to make him a father since he's going to be a great one. I can already see it." Christie agreed with her new sister-in-law, well aware that was the case. "I can see it too. He's already such a great uncle to Violet, so I call already see him being a great dad to your kids." Alex smiled as she heard Christie say that. "Just curious, you're happy for us; right?" Christie was shocked when Alex asked her that question. "Are you kidding me? Of course, I'm happy for you guys. You and Matt are much better suited for each other anyways!" Getting close to Alex, Christie hugged her. After which, she leaned back and looked at her new sister-in-law. "I mean it, you guys are much better together. Always will be."
Alex couldn't help but smile when she heard Christie say that, as she felt the same way. She feels like this is the life they've always meant to live with each other, they just needed to find their way to teach other. "I'm just glad that me and matt have finally found our way to each other. This is where we belong, and I am just so happy about it." Christie agreed with Alex, well aware that was the case. "So, you happy with the way you got married?" Alex smiled. "You mean, with a quick stop in Vegas? Of course, I'm happy that's how I got married to the man of my dreams." Christie smiled. "You didn't want to have the fairytale wedding that Matt could've given you if you asked?" Alex shook her head once more, as that was the last thing she wanted to have; what she wanted to have yesterday was a simple ceremony which made her and Matt husband and wife. "All I wanted, was for me to be husband and wife at the end of the day. And that's precisely what I got. I went to bed last night as Ms. Matthew Casey." Hearing Alex say that, Matt smirked as he walked up to the door as he needed to get her and his sister. "You went to bed in the best possible ways, last time I checked."
Looking up at Matt, Alex smiled. "That was fast when it came to making lunch." Matt smiled. "I just wanted to check whether you guys are okay with sausages and a salad." Alex smiled. "I think you already asked us that question." Matt nodded, while also smirking at his wife. "And I also wanted to look at you as you just sat there in bed. I mean, you are pretty sexy." Alex smiled as she heard Matt tell her that, before extending her hand, which led to Matt walking into their room and getting close to the woman of his drams. Grabbing her hand afterwards, Matt smiled as he leaned over his wife and just started to take things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams. "I love you." Alex agreed with her husband, prior to placing her hand on his face and smiling as she stroked his cheek. "I love you too, and I am so glad that you're my husband." Christie smiled as she looked at her brother and Alex. "I'm so glad that I need to unpack." Turning his head, Matt was confused when he heard his sister tell him that. "Why are you glad that you need to unpack?" Christie laughed. "That means you can have each other after we have lunch." Alex smirked, as she loves the sound of that.
But, maybe they can do that later. Right now, she just wants to take it easy with her husband and new sister. "I think, for now, we can just take it easy and relax as a family. Plus, I'm positive you have a bunch of questions in your mind which you're dying to ask us." Christie agreed with Alex, as she most certainly does; while Matt turned his head and looked at his wife. "What have you done?" Giving her husband a bit of side-eye, Alex glared at him and just went to (silently) tell him what to do. "I'll go make us some plates, then we can talk about whatever you want Christie in the living room." Alex smiled as she heard Matt say that, before watching as he scurried out of their room to do what he needs to do; meanwhile, Christie turned to look at Alex as she was shocked. "How in the world did you get my brother to do that?" Alex smirked. "One word: sex." Christie laughed, as she knew exactly what she was telling her. She knew that their sex life had to be great, which means that she just had to threaten their sex life; then, he would have to listen to her due to the fact that he wants sex. "Men and their sex." Matt then chirped in. "DO I HAVE TO REMIND YOU OF 2001?"
Turning her head, Alex was confused as she looked at her sister-in-law. "What happened in 2001? I mean, other than…" She said, referring to the 9/11 attacks. "Oh, Matt was living with us for a while. He was finishing up his degree, while we were trying to have a baby. HIS NIECE WHO HE LOVES!" Matt laughed, well aware that was the case. "If you want to talk to me, come out here." Christie and Alex both agreed with Matt as he said that, turning to look at each other before smiling. "I promise, we can figure out your new role at CA in the new year." Alex laughed. "Yeah, I already know my new role." Christie was confused. "Hello, ex-lingerie model. I'm coming in to take over the lingerie line!" Christie laughed. "How about first, we get you designing and train you on that?" Alex agreed with her sister-in-law, as that made a lot of sense. She does need to learn how to draw designs, before she can make them and lead a team of designers. "Agreed. Now, I think it's time for us to go have some lunch." Christie agreed with Alex, as they both got up to go have lunch as a family. She just hoped that her brother already had it ready to go when they came out into the kitchen.
Coming into the kitchen where her husband was putting the finishing touches on lunch, Alex smiled as she walked up behind him and then proceeded to wrap her arms around his muscular torso. Kissing his back, Alex smiled as she was happy; however, she also wanted him to apologize to his sister. "Hey, you. I love it when you kiss my back like that." Turning around, Matt smiled as he wrapped his arm around his wife. After which, he bent down and proceeded to kiss the woman he loves; while Alex stepped close to Matt and just took things slow with him. That was, until she ran her hand up his chest and whispered to him. "I think you need to apologize to your sister." Looking down at Alex, Matt was confused. "Baby, you yelled at her." Turning his head, Matt agreed with Alex as he looked at his sister. "I'm sorry Christie." Christie agreed with her brother. "It's okay, I know that was a hard topic. But, your wife here seems to be interested in designing." Matt agreed with Christie. "Yeah, and she already told you that." Christie agreed with her brother. "She said she wants to take over the lingerie line." Matt smirked when he heard Alex say that, as he loved that idea.
So much so, that he wrapped his arm around her again and bent down to kiss her; after which, he whispered to her. "Does that include giving your husband some sexy previews of the new life, which may or may not lead to us having a baby?" Alex smirked, as she loved the sound of that. So, she leaned up and kissed him softly. "I'm not opposed to that idea." Matt agreed with his wife as she told him that, smiling as he placed his hand on the back of her head and just smiled as he pressed his lips to her forehead. "I love you." Alex agreed with Matt, as she loves him too. "I love you too, and I am so glad that you're on board with me changing to designing." Matt smirked, as he's happy about it too. "Hey, it just means that I get your body all to myself." Christie rolled her eyes when she heard Matt say that. "Oh, don't lie and say that wasn't how you felt when you retired. I mean, how Jim felt." Turning her head, Alex was shocked. "Wait, you used to model for the company?" Christie agreed. "Did it on the side, to get my feet wet in the company." Alex agreed.
After all, that did make sense. "I mean, who better to be the face of the line than a Casey?" Matt smiled. "We are not going down that path, we already agreed that you quitting was for the best." Crossing her arms, Christie looked at Alex. "I thought you said that you made this decision on your own, without the input of my brother. I wanted to make sure that you were the one deciding this, rather than have my brother make you do this." Alex smiled. "I'm doing it for myself, because I don't want to be in my late sixties when our kids get married." Matt just looked at Alex. "Ok. Let's not talk about that yet. Right now, I don't even have a daughter yet; I am not ready to imagine her being married, when I haven't even met her yet!" Alex laughed, well aware that was the case. "Jim says the same thing when Violet looks at wedding pictures online. Celebrity wedding pictures." Matt agreed with Christie, as he felt the same way. "I feel the same way." Alex and Christie both looked at Matt when he said that. "What? Her getting married means I'm old!" Matt then pointed at Christie. "Means that you're even older!" Giving her husband a bit of side-eye, Alex was not happy.
After all, you never talk about a woman's age. "Is that a dig at your sister's age Mr. Casey? A dig which can lead to you not getting me later?" Matt just got really nervous when he heard Alex say that. "I love you Alex. Bath, remember? I promised you a nice bath later, with a really nice massage." Alex agreed with Matt. "Behave, or else the bath and the massage won't be at the same time." Matt was shocked. "Excuse me, but the massage happens IN the bath." Alex was not having it. "It can also happen IN BED!" Whipping her hair, Alex proceeded to walk away; all the while, she swayed her hips as a way to turn her husband on. "Oh, fuck you." Alex smirked. "You can do that later if you're a good boy." Looking at Alex as she said that, Christie was not that happy as that was the last thing she wanted to hear. "Seriously? That's the last thing I want to hear!" Matt just looked at Christie. "AND YOU THINK I WANTED TO HEAR YOU AND JIM MOANING!" Christie agreed. "Fair point." Laughing, Alex led her sister-in-law away to the living room; where they'll sit down as they wait for Matt to bring them some lunch. After all, she wants to eat in comfort rather than in their dining room.
Coming into the living room with their lunches after finishing up, Matt smiled as he walked in to see Alex sitting on one of the couches, which was big enough for two people to sit on. And he was glad, as that's precisely where he wants to sit. He wants to sit on the same couch as his wife, since he wants to cuddle up to her as they have lunch with each other today. And since his sister is nowhere to be found, they might even get a chance to do so alone. "Where's my sister?" Turning her head when she heard Matt, Alex smiled. "Oh, she'll be back in a minute. She's just going to the washroom." Matt agreed with his wife as he set his sister's plate down on the table, prior to making his way over to Alex so that he can give her food to her. "Here we go my dear." Alex smiled as she heard her husband say that. "Quick question, did that really happen? Did you really hear your sister and brother-in-law moan while they were having sex?" Matt smirked and agreed with Alex, as he did. After which, he sat down next to her and smiled as he wrapped his arm around her. Grabbing his plate again, he brought it into his lap and smiled at his gorgeous wife this afternoon.
Turning her head, Alex smirked as she's very happy. "I love you." Turning his head when he heard Alex say that, Matt smiled as he bent down and kissed the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you too, and I am so glad this is our life. I know that I say that all the time, but I will keep saying it until it isn't true." Alex agreed with Matt, smiling as he pressed his lips to her forehead and just concentrate on them. "You sure that you're okay with my sister being here the day after we got married? I mean, I could…" Alex looked up at her husband. "You aren't doing anything, not when I want to work with her. If I want to get in her good graces so that she can let me design, then she needs to stay here; plus, she's family and we need to talk to her about what we're going to do for Christmas. What our niece wants. I mean, I want to make a good first impression on Violet." Hearing Alex say that as she came back from the washroom, Christie laughed a bit. "Oh, you just give her $20 or $40; and she'll be in paradise when it comes to Christmas." Matt laughed. "Hell, give her some of your clothing and that'd be good." Christie agreed. "She's turning into me."
Matt groaned as he heard Christie say that, as that's the last thing he wanted to hear. "Oh great, two Christies. Two little fashionistas." Sitting up, Alex looked at her husband. "And I'm not a fashionista? I mean, I'm a model!" Matt smiled as he moved his hand to the back of his wife's head and tugged her lips against his, prior to taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves; the woman of his dreams and his new wife, Alexandra Casey. "God, I love you so much and I am so glad that you're my wife." Alex agreed with her husband as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "Though, you do need to calm down for your sister's sake." Turning his head, Matt smiled at Christie. "Naw, I think that she's fine with us taking things nice and slow with each other in front of her." Christie shook her head. "You are so getting revenge on me, aren't you?" Matt agreed with his sister, as he is definitely doing that. "However, I first want to know what's going on with Jim." Christie sighed. "It's why I came here first. You know Jim Fisher?" Matt groaned. "God, that guy. I hate him. He's such an idiot." Alex was confused. "Sorry, who's that?"
Matt sighed. "He's this guy who always comes to us. Says he wants to make a deal with us, we get ready to do it and then he backs out last minute. We spend a fortune. We stopped dealing with him what…2 years ago now? So, that's why I hate that you're even bringing him up. Speaking of which, why are you bringing that idiot up here?" Christie sighed as she went to grab something from behind the pillow. "Andy sent this with me. Guess who just put a downpayment on Condo 25 in our building in Coachella Valley." Grabbing the document, Matt was shocked. "Sorry babe, I need to deal with this." Alex sighed as she looked at her husband. "Babe, you also need to relax and eat. Can you at least eat first? Then, we can call Andy together. How does that sound?" Matt agreed with his wife, as that's precisely what he plans on doing. "Sorry I have to do this on the weekend, I just can't let this happen again. He's horrible and it always puts me in a sour mood." Alex agreed with her husband. "I know baby." Smiling, Matt was happy to have a wife who understood. "And that's why you needed Alex in your life. She actually understands that there are things that can't wait!"
Smiling as Christie said that, Alex agreed with her. "I mean, there are some things that can wait…especially when we're naked in bed!" Christie just looked at her brother as Alex said that. "Are you kidding me Matt!" Matt was shocked. "Seriously? It could make us money, I thought you'd be on my side!" Christie looked at Alex. "I'm on Alex's side here. I mean, your wife is gorgeous! She works out for that body! And then you take a business call, when she's trying to have a baby with you!" Alex smiled. "Well, technically we're just starting to try now. I'm throwing my diet out next year as I do not want to do the model diet when we're trying to get pregnant. I need to be healthy if I get pregnant." Christie agreed. "Listen, can we talk about that for a second?" Matt and Alex were both confused as Christie asked them that but agreed. "I guess?" Christie smiled. "Guys, it's me. It's Christie. Matt, you're my brother; Alex, you're my sister-in-law." Alex then corrected her. "Only as of yesterday." Christie smiled. "Oh, you know that's not true." Alex laughed. "I know, you've treated me as your sister-in-law for a while." Christie agreed. "Yeah, because you weren't a bitch to me!"
Alex agreed. "I know. Oh, look at me. I'm Dr. Thomas, I'm above you all because I'm engaged to the CEO!" Matt was horrified when he heard Alex say that, which then led to Christie confirming and adding on. "Christie, I don't care. I'm going to be your boss when I marry Matt. You need to listen to what I say because I know fashion just as much as you…" Matt just looked at his sister when she said that. "Christie, did that really happen?" Looking at her brother, Christie bit her lip. "Be honest with me sis, did that really happen?" Christie sighed, nodding. "Yeah, it did." Shaking his head, Matt set his food to the side and then got up. "Come here." Christie agreed with her brother as she set her own food to the side, prior to getting up and making her way over to her brother; doing the same, Matt soon wrapped his arms around Christie and hugged her. "I'm so sorry Christie. Had I known, I would've put Hallie in her place. I mean it. I don't care if she was my fiancé, you are my sister and we're still rebuilding our relationship from when I supported mom, and you didn't believe me…." Alex just stopped her husband when he started to say that. "Hold on a second, what!"
She was shocked; no, horrified at the thought that her husband's own sister didn't believe him when he told her that he was abused by his father. By their father. How in the world does that happen? How did Christie not believe her husband when he said that he was abused and raped by their father; god, just the fact that she didn't believe him one time made her furious. It was why she wasn't even in the same room as Christie at the moment, as she needed some space. Rather, she was in the kitchen and doing the dishes right now; at least, she was…until Matt came to join her to get her to breathe. "I can see that you're frustrated right now." Turning around to look at her husband, Alex was shocked. "How are you NOT frustrated and furious with your sister? I mean, you literally just admitted that she didn't believe you at one point! Over her not believing you when you told her what your dad did." Agreeing with his wife, Matt made his way over to her and then went to set some more of the dishes in the sink; prior to wrapping his arms around her and holding her close to him. "Baby, she's your sister." Matt agreed with his wife, well aware that was the case.
Meanwhile, Alex stepped close to Matt and wrapped her arms around his back. She then took a breath as she felt him kiss her forehead softly, which really helped when it came to calming down. It was precisely what she needed, and she's glad that Matt's here to give it to her. "You okay?" Alex sighed. "I should be asking you that." Placing his hand on the side of Alex's face, Matt nodded as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves. "Baby, I'm sorry I yelled at her. But…actually, no. I'm not. Babe, please tell me you understand why I yelled at her." Matt nodded. "Matt, she's your sister. If anybody should believe you, then it's her. She saw how bad your dad treated you, how hard it was on your mom…it's what led to your mom killing your dad." For a quick refresher, Matt's mom killed his dad due to the fact that he was raping and abusing them. "I mean, why wouldn't she believe it? She had to see the bruises at some point." Matt sighed as he looked at his wife. "Christie wasn't there when it happened, as she was away at college." Alex agreed with her husband. "And you never showed her the reports from CPS?" Matt shrugged. "It wasn't reported."
Alex was shocked. "What?" Matt nodded. "There was too much pride in it. We were and still are a high-profile family as we run a very successful business in Chicago, which means that we couldn't have those scandals." Shocked that her husband called them scandals, Alex just brought him close and proceeded to hug him. "Baby, those aren't scandals. They're abuse. It was him hurting you. Please, don't think you calling CPS on your father was a scandal; it would've been the right thing and could've saved your family a lot of pain. Maybe he would've gone to jail instead of your mom." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, before leaning in and kissing her neck softly. Sucking on it, Matt made sure to make his wife happy when it came to how she was feeling right now. And the only way to describe how she felt right now was happy, simply due to the fact that she has such an amazing husband. A husband who she loves more than anything, and who she doesn't want to see get hurt. "Babe, I'm sorry I walked away." That's when Alex heard Christie. "No, you had every right to walk away. I understand why you did that, and it makes sense." Alex sighed as she looked at Christie.
After which, Matt placed his hand on Alex's back and kissed her forehead softly. "How about you go back to the living room with my sister? You guys can talk and just take it easy. Let me finish with the dishes babe and you go talk to Christie. She can explain it to you." Alex agreed with Matt, before turning to look at her sister-in-law. "A minute, please?" Christie agreed, before walking away to go sit in the living room; meanwhile, Alex turned to face her husband again and stepped close to him. Wrapping her arms around his torso, Alex cuddled up to her man and smiled as she stared into his eyes. Meanwhile, Matt placed his hand on the side of her face and leaned in to kiss his beautiful wife softly. The woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, and who truly is his biggest defender. "I love you." Alex agreed with Matt, as she loves him too. "I love you too Matt, and I promise that I won't ever change when it comes to how I defend you against that. Yes, it's your sister. But, you need to know that I take that seriously. It was such a big part of your life, and I know…" Alex sighed. "I guess, it just hurts when you still have those bad dreams sometimes."
Matt agreed with his wife, well aware of what she was talking about. How he has some PTSD from it at times, which is weird due to the fact that he hasn't really had much experience with it; but, he's had PTSD and it's just hard to deal with at times. But having Alex by his side, well that makes everything better. Just having her in his arms makes him smile, as she's the best partner any man could've ever asked for. He's proud to call her his wife, and he's just very happy in general, which is precisely why he just wants to take things nice and slow with her for a moment. So, that's precisely what Matt did. He placed his hand on Alex's neck and started to take things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything. "I love you Alex." Alex agreed with her husband, as she loves him too. "I love you too, and I promise not to do that again." Matt shook his head, as that's the last thing he wants her to promise him. "Don't promise me that, when we both know that's a lie. We both know that you're going to do it again and I'm going to love it." Alex agreed with Matt and smiled. "But not as much as I love you." Matt smirked as he heard Alex say that. "Now, that's debatable."
Laughing, Alex stepped close to her husband and wrapped her arms around his back. After which, she leaned in and kissed the man of her dreams nice and slowly. "I love you." Placing his hand on the side of Alex's face, Matt agreed. "I love you too, forever." Alex smirked as she stepped close to him and then whispered to him. "Maybe you can show me that later in bed." Matt smirked, as he loves the sound of that. "Listen, how about you go sit with Christie. Talk to her about what led to us getting married, maybe we can even talk about how we want to be in California instead. She must have questions about that again." Alex agreed, as she had a feeling that Christie did have questions about that too. "Sounds like the plan." Stepping close to her husband, Alex smiled as she kissed him softly. "I love you." Matt agreed with his wife. "I love you too. See you in a minute." Alex agreed as she walked away, more than ready to just take it easy as a family.
Matt's POV:
God, Alex has no idea just how much her yelling at my sister and defending me truly was a turn on, which is precisely why I want to take her to bed. I'm turned on and very happy over the fact that she decided to defend me the way she did. No woman has ever done that how Alex does it, and it just makes me feel so lucky to know that I have a woman in my life who loves me so much, that she's willing to burn bridges with my family just so that she can defend me. And that's precisely what Alex did just know. She may have caused problems with my sister, just so that she could defend me over the fact that my sister didn't believe me at first. And while it is hard to think about, I'm just glad that she believes me now. And honestly, that's all that matters at the end of the day in my books. The fact that Christie believes me now, and that she knows the truth about how much of a monster our father was when he was alive. I just hope that Alex can see it that way as well. I don't want to cause drama right now, and I just want to take it easy.
Walking back into the living room to talk to her sister-in-law, Alex took a breath. "Hey Christie." Turning her head, Christie smiled at Alex. "Hey, you okay?" Alex sighed as she looked at her. "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for rushing away like I did. I know it was the wrong thing to do, I should've let you explain. I just got really mad at the idea." Christie agreed as she got up and made her way over to her sister-in-law so that she can hug her. "Hey, we're good now." Alex sighed. "I just want to mention something." Christie agreed. "Matt still has some bad dreams about it sometimes, so I guess that's why I'm a bit sensitive; because I know what it does to Matt sometimes at night." Christie agreed with Alex as she took a breath. "I'm sorry, I had no idea it was still that bad. Thanks for telling me though, I promise to be more conscious of what I say." Alex smiled as she heard Christie say that, before hugging her again. "Now, I want to hear about your wedding." Alex agreed as she walked over to the couch to talk to Christie, while Matt smiled at his wife and sister from the kitchen; glad that it seems like they're already back in a good place. His wife and his sister, in a good place. He likes it.
