Hello readers!

I watched and got hooked on Cyberpunk Edgerunners, so I couldn't help but join on the bandwagon with a Fate crossover.

This will be a more of a fusion of the two works, Fateverse and Cyberpunk. It takes on the Fate/Extra timeline where Mana dried up and Mages become Spirit Hackers in general. Any changes in character of Fate cast is largerly the influence of Fate Extra timeline and Cyberpunk has had on them and their world.

I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter One "Living Gloria"

"Shirou are you listening to me?"

"Sorry I was enjoying the scenery," I apologized as I looked away from the passing skyline.

Without much input from my mind, my seat adjusted automatically and turned me towards my partner in crime, Rin Tohsaka. She was dressed sharply in business wear that any corpo might have worn. Rin directed an annoyed expression at me.

"If you had been listening," snapped Rin while glaring at me murderously. "Then you should know that this maybe our biggest gig to date. The time that would put us in the big leagues."

"Big leagues is an understatement," muttered Sakura as she tinkered with Cyberdeck that would have been in fashion in the 2020s. "We may qualify to be recorded in the Throne of Heroes or Moon Cell as Heroic Spirits."

"This gig is also the most dangerous we have ever done." I replied while pointing at the holographic table in the middle of the car displaying the local news. "The cyberpsychosis episode that happened last night is just one example."

"I have to agree with there," Rin sighed. "A cyberpsychosis incident happening in the middle of Night City Corpo Plaza, what is supposed to be the safest area in Night City, is a very disturbing. Another alarming news is how slow the response was to this cyberpsycho when Night City Police Headquarters, MaxTech main office and Arasaka Night City branch office was no more than a hundred meters away."

"So you're suggesting to chrome up?" I asked.

"Absolutely not!" Rin instinctively replied before blushing. She looked away abashedly and continued, "I mean, maybe… You should consider it."

I chuckled as it meant a lot to me if Rin was even thought about mentioning that I should use cyberware in general, considering that she absolutely hated it unless it was necessary given that every bit of cyberware increased your chances of getting cyberpsychosis.

"I think I am all good for now." I laughed while looking to Sakura. "Do you think that you need to upgrade your kit?"

Sakura, our team's main Netrunner and Techie, shook her head. "There is nothing to upgrade right now. I will tell you when I need better gear."

"I have the feeling it will not be long before we need to upgr-"

My words were quickly interrupted when a nearby window started to have spider-webbed cracks. I looked to see that it was from a series of impacts, heavy rounds hitting the vehicle.

Neither I, Rin or Sakura was too surprised by the sudden turn of events. It was not the first time that our ride had been attacked. We had experienced it many times in the past, and even expected it when we learned that our latest mission might take place in the dangerous Night City.

The driver of our vehicle continued to drive like it wasn't really a problem.

"Should we take out the shooter?" One bodyguard asked, preparing to take out his gun if needed.

Rin waved dismissively. "We're fine. The armor of the car can easily handle it. Just let them worst their ammo and realize it is futile."

Just as if Rin had raised a death flag, I saw the very recognizable form of an anti-tank missile launcher on the shoulder of one gangster that was part of the group of cyberpunks firing at our vehicle.

"AT missile!" I screamed as I sent the code to activate the vehicle's defenses.

Sensors activated at full power to detect enemy threats. Hidden machine guns and missiles revealed themselves. Guided by the sensors, the formerly hidden weapons locked onto the attackers. The cyberpunks were turned into torn flesh and metal or fine red mist as bullets riddled their bodies.

"Brace for impact!" I shouted as I saw the gangster holding the rocket launcher being taken out but not before firing his deadly payload.

Rin, Sakura and the bodyguards quickly braced for the inevitable.

I prepared for the possibility of death as the vehicle was similar in the level of protection offered by a lightly armored vehicle like an APC. My heart relaxed for a moment as I saw the Trophy system fire small explosives at the incoming missile. That quickly changed and my heart started to pound again like crazy when the missile wasn't destroyed and continued coming towards our vehicle.

The last thing I heard was a loud explosion and my vision blacking out.

I screamed in pain as my eyes shot open to witness the sight of the vehicle rolling over. The rolling continued for a while before it came to a stop as I felt the force of the impact travelling through my body.

"Rin, Sakura, are you alright?!" I shouted as I released the safety belts that had stopped me from being thrown around as the vehicle rolled over.

"What does a gangster have an anti-tank weapon!?" Rin screamed.

"I'm a little bumped up, but I am good!" Sakura called out.

I didn't really pay attention to the bodyguards. You might wonder why I didn't? Maybe because I was a heartless bastard. Well, it was because no matter how the bodyguards looked and acted they were not people in the first place. They weren't even living creatures either. Well, no one would know that until they were taken apart.

My attention to my bodyguards didn't last so much as a second as I looked through the diagnostic reports being send to my mind. Only one of the five bodyguards had taken serious damage, and that had been because it had been right next to the damaged AT missile that had hit the vehicle. The others suffered little to minor damages that wouldn't compromise their functioning.

I reached to my backside of my waist where a large holster strapped to my belt was located. Out came a modified Nokota D5 Copperhead assault rifle that with the help of magecraft had been make the gun smaller and more easier to carry while also packing a greater punch of a regular Nokota D5 Copperhead.

Rin's hand went into her pants and reached for her right mid-thigh where a carefully hidden holster. She took out Arasaka TKI-20 Shingen submachine gun.

Unlike Rin or me, Sakura didn't act on the frontline often so she didn't need to hide her weapons like us for blending in without drawing attention. Her Militech M-76E Omaha pistol lay on the holster of her right hip and it came as easily as breathing.

I made hand gestures to Rin and Sakura. This was a precaution in case anyone was nearby that could hear us with their ears or listening into our radio communications. My words were simple, "do we stay and hunker down or get out and fight?"

Sakura gestured for us to stay. That we were in the business district of Night City so the local police should be responding soon so all we needed to do was to wait.

My partner-in-crime, Rin disagreed. Her reasoning was that there was no telling if the local police would arrive in time to help when it was unknown when the cyberpunks that had attacked our vehicle.

I didn't offer my opinion as that was likely the deal-breaker on what we would do. Instead, I sent one of the Puppets/bodyguards, the most damaged one, out into the open to scout out the situation. To my surprise, the cyberpunks were quickly leaving the scene on their motorcycles and cars.

All that was left was a scene of destruction. A series of shot up and smoking cars. Corpses, the dying, and those lucky to score survivable wounds or unscathed.

The first to arrive was not surprising Team Trauma in their AAs (aircars). It was after all part of their business model to arrive to the scene of the emergency as quickly as possible and extract those that were hurt, dying or could be possibly revived, assuming that you had a health premium with Trauma Team as this was not the Europe that was a paradise compared to what most of the world had become since the Collapse and the rise of Mega corporations to replace national governments.

"How unlucky of us," grumbled Rin as she walked up to my side. "It seems like we got caught up in a drive by shooting."

"A drive up shooting of this scale with such heavily armed cyberpunks would have been rare in other countries but is like a common day occurrence in Night City," noted Sakura.

"That is Night City for 'ya. Violence and corruption is just a matter of life here." I remarked in disappointment. "Let's hope this environment doesn't get in the way of our mission."

I glanced around at the destructive scene. While I wasn't the type to worry about the nameless masses that I didn't have any connection to, I quickly looked around to see if there was anyone to help. It wasn't like I had anything important to do right now. So since I had some free time, I might as well build up some good karma that may help me in the future.

I was about to help one group of civilians when my agent pinged a flipped puke green Galena.

+ Gloria Martinez – a local contact that you created as part of establishing a network of informants in Night City for the current mission. +

Damn! That wasn't good to hear. Gloria had been one of the first and reliable contacts I had established without relying on third parties such as Night City Fixers that could have dubious motives to betray me if it meant making a little more eddies.

"Rin, Sakura, over here! I need help here!" I called out while rushing towards clearly injured Gloria.

I arrived at the scene to find that Gloria, the red haired woman, had smashed through the front windscreen of the car that she had likely been inside until the shootout. My first goal was to inspect Gloria for injuries when the screaming of "Mom!" caught my ear. In any other time, I would have ignored it as there were countless other people screaming for their parents right now. The reason it caught my attention was that the voice was similar, and it belonged to someone that Gloria had chosen to work as one of my local contacts.

"Sakura help out the kid! Rin, you're with me!" I shouted.

Sakura quickly rushed to the kid and yelled, "Okay, got it!"

"This is Gloria Martinez, right? One of the local contacts you established before we came to Night City?" Rin asked as she summoned her small kit of medical supplies and equipment.

"Yea," I nodded. "She is important enough to risk using magecraft. Quickly tend to her while I establish a Bounded Field to hide you using magecraft!"

Rin just nodded her head and started to attend to the injured Gloria as I started to construct a Bounded Field that would conceal Rin's usage of magecraft. I was still in the process of making the Bounded Field when I saw the boy that had been screaming earlier for Gloria racing past me.

"Hey, don't interrupt my sister!" yelled Sakura as she chased after and tackled the boy. The boy only struggled and tried to push Sakura off him. "If you stop my sister from attending to your mother, don't blame us if your mother flatlines!"

Sakura's words instantly had an effect on the boy. He stopped resisting and instead relaxed his body. His eyes shed tears while staring at Rin working on Gloria.

"Please, you have to help my mom!" The boy grabbed Sakura's shirt and cried. "I will do anything if you save her."

"Relax, my partner is check your mother." I said while walking over to Sakura and the boy. "Your mum is in safe hands. She will survive…" Mentally, I added to myself, as long as her brain isn't too damaged for Rin to heal.

My words seemed to have a strong impact on the boy's mentality. He seemed to relax and a bit of colour returning to his face. The boy look hopefully at Rin as she continued with her work.

"So what is your name?" asked Sakura, striking up a conversation to distract the boy.

The boy replied, "My name is David Martinez."

I tuned out the conversation as I approached Rin.

"How, how is she?" I asked, kneeling on the ground beside Rin.

"I have been able to stabilize her condition for now. Most of her damage to her organs, I could handle with the healing spells that I know," replied Rin happily before her expression darkened. "It's the damage to her brain that concerns me. We need to a specialist. A brain surgeon would do, but given that I used magecraft and the questions that is going to asked as a result I say a mage specializing in healing would be our best option."

"Luckily, I know just the right person for the job in Night City." I smiled before my smile faded away. "The problem is that I don't want to owe that person a favor."

- O -

"Welcome, my little brother!" chirped a familiar red-eyed and white haired woman that embraced me as I entered the lobby with Gloria being brought in on a sketcher. "I didn't expect you to call for my help as soon as you arrived at Night City."

"Hello to you, Illya." I replied, hugging my older half/step sister. "Thank you for accepting to help us on such short notice."

"I have gotten some of the details while the patient was being transported here. What so important about her that called for my help?" inquired Illya as she released her hug.

"The patient, Gloria Martinez, is one of my local contacts for the mission in Night City." I replied bluntly. And before my sister could ask more on the topic, I continued. "You know how I operate. I don't like to rely on Fixers that might betray me for a few extra eddies because they were not someone that I could trust."

"You're taking from papa's job advice as a Solo very seriously." Illya nodded happily. "Always work with people you can trust if possible." My sister quoted my father while giggling. "I can help if you want."

"I appreciate the offer but no," I shook my head. "You're already busy handling Night City operations of the family business. The last thing you need is to get bogged down with my mission."

"Get away from that girl, Shirou!" growled Rin venomously as she tried to throw herself at Illya.

"Nee-san!" shouted Sakura as she held Rin by the arms in attempt to keep Rin away from Illya. "Let's go somewhere else!" She dragged her older sister away out of the lobby. "We should give Shirou and Illya some time alone."

"No, Sakura! We cannot let them together!"

"Bye, bye, Rin!" Illya waved while shouting in a teasing tone.

"Illya…" I sighed. "You have a patient that requires your immediate attention. Please save Gloria."

"Okay, Shirou!" Bounced Illya happily while heading to the surgery room that Gloria had been taken to. She turned back with a smile. "But you owe me a favor~"

I watched as my sister leave, and I was soon left with a stunned David Martinez, who seemed too shocked by the turn of events.

"We cannot be inside a Einzbern hospital, right?!" yelled David while pinching his own cheeks. "I can't be dreaming"

"And yes, your mother is currently under the care of Night City's Einzbern Bio, Chief Surgeon, Illyasviel von Einzbern." I replied.

"Shit!" David cursed before his eyes lit up. "I mean, thank god! It's a miracle."

"It was a miracle," I nodded in agreement, "that I happened to be there or who knows what could have happened to Gloria…"

Suddenly, a heavy mood settled in and I didn't know what else to say to David afterwards.

David was the first to respond. "Why are you helping me and my mother? What is it for you?" He asked suspiciously.

"You're right. I am not doing this purely out of the good my heart. Your mother is one of my contacts in Night City. She was supposed to let me know what was going on the street level and help establish a network of contacts and informants for my big gig." I replied bluntly and honestly. "I never introduced myself. My name is Shirou Emiya."

"Emiya!? Are you anyone related to Kiritsugu Emiya, the legendary Solo?"
