SmackDown: 27/4/2000

Thursday Night SmackDown was live at the Charlotte Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina, just three days away from Backlash. Things kicked off with some Latino Heat, as Eddie Guerrero and Chyna took on Val Venis and Essa Rios. The action went back and forth until Rios took advantage of a referee's missed tag to finish off Guerrero with a moonsault. For good measure, Lita added one of her own.

Finally, The Rock was back in Charlotte, and had a lot on his mind, challenging the McMahon-Helmsley regime to throw whatever they had at him. Triple H, accompanied by DX and the McMahons, came out, claiming he's bored with kicking The Rock's ass and stating he'll take the night off to watch the Road Dogg battle Christian. If Edge interferes in the match, Triple H will strip he and his brother of the Tag Team Titles.

Vince then grabbed the mic, announced that his son, Shane, will be the special referee for the main event at Backlash and reminded The Rock that he can't trust anybody. The Rock's response? A GUARAN-DAMN-TEE that Stone Cold Steve Austin was at SmackDown!

Outside the building, The Rock took off in a limo. The McMahon-Helmsley regime found two Stone Cold foam fingers on the front of the DX Express.

Dean Malenko's actions on HEAT earned him another shot at Scotty Too Hotty's Light Heavyweight Championship in a match that couldn't wait until Backlash. Malenko attacked Scotty before the bell, and was aggressive throughout the bout until Scotty blocked Malenko's attempt at a superplex and nailed the challenger with a missle dropkick. But Scotty's best efforts went for naught when Malenko used the ropes for leverage to steal a pin to regain the Light Heavyweight belt.

Back in the DX bus, Triple H received a page that read 3:16. Mr. McMahon suddenly felt a little uneasy.

T & A tuned up for their Backlash match against the Bladewolf with a bout against the Holly cousins. Backstage, the Bladewolf was shown watching with his eyes on Trish Stratus. Hardcore went to finish off Albert with a splash, but was overruled by an overzealous Crash, who subsequently missed his attempt. A flying elbow from Test finished off Crash, but things were far from over. As T&A and Trish backed up the ramp, their gaze on the ring, the Bladewolf walked out and stood behind T&A until they bumped into him and turned around... ONLY TO BE GRABBED BY THE THROAT!

"Bladewolf's caught T&A by ther throats!" Cole shouted.

"Oh no!" Jerry shouted.

Bladewolf lifts them off their feet... AND PLANTS THEM WITH A DOULE CHOKESLAM ON THE STAGE! Bladewolf then looks at Trish who's eyes widened before she runs down the ramp towards the ring with the Bladewolf chasing after her. He slides in as she cowers in the corner. Bladewolf had his fists clenched as he walked towards her. She tries to get out the corner but Bladewplf placed an arm in front of her, blocking her in as he leaned close to make sure she was staring into his eyes.

Trish places her hands over Bladewolf's mask and caresses it, even feeling his body, trying to charm him into letting her go. But... BLADEWOLF GRABS HER BY THE THROAT! He wasn't falling for it this time. He stands in the middle of the ring, tightly gripping Trish by the throat to the point she fell to her knees before him. He then lifts her up, preparing to Chokeslam her,... but he hesitates. He slowly lowers her until she was on her feet again and he lets her go, turning away and leaning on the ropes, looking like he was trying to fight something.

He whirls around and walks towards her but stops, just staring at her before he slowly lifts a hand and caresses her cheek, even taking a strand of her hair in between his fingers to play with. Trish slowly wraps her arms around the back of his neck, pulling him closer to her, their faces slowly getting closer and closer. However, the moment is ruined when Test and Albert attack Bladewolf from behind and stomp away on him while Trish backs off.

Albert pulls Bladewolf to his feet and Test... NAILS BLADEWOLF WITH THE BIG BOOT! Albert then pulls Bladewolf back to his feet, lifts him up... AND HITS THE POWERBOMB!

The crowd boos as Test and Albert stand tall over the fallen Bladewolf while Trish looked... uncertain and like she wanted to go help him but shook her head as she left with her boys, but glanced back to the ring. Bladewolf rolls onto his front, locking eyes with her and he watches her leave while struggling to his feet...

And that's it for this chapter everyone. Sorry it was short. I tried my best to make it longer. The next chapter will be WWF Backlash 2000.
