SmackDown: 15/6/2000
SmackDown was live at the AllState Arena in Chicago. SmackDown opened with Edge taking on Grand Master Sexay in a King of the Ring Qualifying Match. During the match, Shane McMahon came to ringside, and hit Sexay with a chair, allowing Edge to score the pin and to advance in the tournament.
Afterwards, as the McMahon-Helmsley Faction headed down to the ring, Shane announced that Edge would compete again that night, teaming with Christian to take on the Dudley Boyz. After Vince bragged about the Faction's domination on Monday's RAW, Triple H took the microphone and added some fire to the six-man tag-team main event at King of the Ring, which pits him, Vince and Shane against Rock, Kane and Undertaker.
Addressing the No. 1 Contender situation, the Game said that in the unlikely event that his team was to lose at King of the Ring, whoever scored the pinfall would get a title shot in July. Of course, the Game then asked if Rock, Kane and Undertaker could really trust one another with so much on the line. Triple H said that in the likely event that his team is victorious, then he will defend his title in July against the winner of the King of the Ring Tournament.
Mr. McMahon then took back the microphone and declared that he had special surprises that night for Chris Jericho, the Undertaker, Kane and The Rock.
The scene suddenly shifted to New York's Times Square, where Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco and referee Mike Chioda pulled up in a cab. The three were looking for Crash Holly, so Brisco could attempt to regain the Hardcore Championship. As the three bickered, another cab pulled up behind them, and Crash himself got out, staring at a piece of paper and mumbling something about having to find some guy for protection.
Next up was T&A vs The Hardy Boyz.
It was a back and fourth match between the two teams, with both teams gaining the upper hand and control fht ematch at various point. However, the Hardy Boyz soon started to make a comeback as they took the fight to Test and Albert. Halfway through the match, the crowd gave a mixed reaction as the Bladewolf and Trish Startus were seen walking down the ramp.
"Oh no." Cole said, spotting them.
"What do you mean, 'oh no'? It's Trish!" Jerry said gleefully, happy to see the blonde.
"Oh no because her boyfriend is here with her, King." Cole reminded. "The Bladewolf has had issues with the Hardy Boyz these past few weeks, which started when he assaulted them."
"He's just making a statement." Jerry said in defence of the Bladewolf. The Bladewolf and Trish stop at the end of the ramp and simply stand there, watching as Jeff Hardy landed some kicks to Test then hit a dropkick that sent Test into the corner.
"They're here to watch the match, but the Hardys better stay on guard when the Bladewolf is around." Cole said. Jeff saw Albert charging and moved out of the way, causing Albert to collide with Test in the corner. "Look out!"
"Wow!" Jerry exclaimed.
" Albert colliding with his partner in the corner and now Jeff Hardy..." Cole said as Hardy landed some blows to Albert's midsection. "With blows to the midsection."
Jeff gets Albert into the corner and backs up, taking his top off which causes the women in the crowd to scream happily at the sight while Jeff does his little dance thing. The camera catches the Bladewolf shaking his head with a small smirk on his face. Hardy runs at Albert who lifts him into the air but Hardy catches him with a dropkick that sends the big man into the corner.
"What a dropkick!" Cole said. "Albert went for a counter and Jeff countered on his own." Jeff tags in Matt. "I tell you, King, whoever wins this match could gain a WWF Tag Team Title matchup in the future. That's what is at stake here."
Matt goes to the second turnbuckle and jumps off with a leg drop onto Test while Jeff lands a leg drop to Test's crotch area.
"Oh!" Jerry winced.
"Double team by the Hardy Boyz!" Cole said.
ALbert comes to save his partner but Matt is there to meet him, driving him back into the corner while Jeff waits in the opposite corner. Matt sees this and drops to all fours Jeff runs, uses Matt as a springboard and... HITS POETRY IN MOTION!
"Oh!" Jerry and Cole exclaim before the Hardys clothesline Albert over the top rope and outside of the ring.
Now with just Test in the ring, the Hardys turn their attention to him as Test tries to attack them but Matt kicks him in the gut and wraps his arm around his head, setting up for the Twist of Fate while Jeff gets out onto the apron to prepare for the Swanton Bomb. Matt Hardy... NAILS THE TWIST OF FATE!
"Twist of Fate by Matt Hardy!" Cole shouted. "And Test is in trouble!"
Before Jeff can even move to climb the turnbuckle, Trish runs up... AND PULLS HIM OFF THE APRON! Jeff's face collides with the steel steps, knocking the Hardy down.
"And Trish! look at Trish!" Cole shouted. "Just grabbing the leg of Jeff Hardy and his head hitting the steel steps. The referee didn't see it!"
"Good move, Trish!" Jerry applauded.
"What a witch Trish is!" Cole shook his head in disgust as the camera showed the Bladewolf smirking. "I bet the Bladewolf put her up to that."
Matt leaned over to check on his brother, but this allows Albert to run and... SQUASH MATT IN THE CORNER! Albert grabs Matt and tosses him... INTO A BIG BOOT BY TEST!
"Test and Albert taking advantage!" Cole shook his head as Test hooks the legs. "And here's the cover!"
"One!"
"Hook of the leg!"
"Two!"
"Three! Ring the bell!" The referee shouted.
"It's over!" Cole said in disgust. "T&A wins given the assist from Trish."
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
T&A's theme plays as Tony Chimel announces. "Here are your winners... T&A!"
Test and Albert leave the ring as the Bladewolf slides in and goes on the attack on Matt Hardy, stomping away before he begins hammering away on Matt's forehead.
"And now the Bladewolf!" Cole said. "Bladewolf hammering away on Matt Hardy! There's no need for this!"
Bladewolf continues his assault until Jeff slides into the ring and attacks Bladewolf from behind, causing him to turn his attention to Jeff. Bladewolf knees Jeff repeatedly in the stomach then brings a clubbing foirearm down across Jeff's back before he drives his knee into the side of Jeff's head.
"Oh!" Jerry winced.
"Knee to the head." Cole shook his head. "The Bladewolf is just destroying the Hardy Boys. He's cost them both Intercontinental title matches, and it has been confirmed that the Bladewolf will face the Hardy Boyz at King of the Ring because of this building rivalry."
Bladewolf kicks Jeff in the side of the head before he holds him up, allowing Trish to walk up... AND SHE SLAPS JEFF HARDY!
"Oh!" Jerry exclaimed.
"Trish slapping Jeff Hardy!" Cole added. "Hasn't she caused enough damage?"
Bladewolf grabs Jeff and hits a German Suplex across the ring, then turns his attention to Matt as Trish cheers him on. The crowd starts cheering when Lita runs down the ramp.
"And here's Lita!" Cole shouted. Lita slides into the ring and attacks Trish from behind. "And Lita from behind!"
"What?!" Jerry shouted.
"Lita taking down Trish!" Cole said.
"i don't think the Bladewolf realizes this!" Jerry said as Bladewolf continued stomping away on Matt Hardy in the corner.
"Lita a Hardy loyalist, King." Cole said.
Bladewolf saw what was happening and quickly abandoned his attack on Matt to walk up behind Lita and grab her by the hair tightly, pulling her away from Trish and forcing her to look at the glare on his red and black face-painted face.
"Bladewolf coming to the aid of his girlfriend." Cole said. "And Lita... staring in the eyes of the Demon Wolf."
Bladewolf held Lita out and Trish runs... AND TAKES LITA DOWN WITH A SPEAR!
"SPear! Trish with a Spear on Lita!" Cole shouted.
"Good!" Jerry nodded.
Trish hammers away on Lita when the Hardy Boyz attack the Bladewolf from behind, and Lita rolls Trish over to start hammering away on her. "It's an all-out brawl!" Cole said.
Bladewolf tries fighting Matt and Jeff Hardy off but they keep up the double team and... HIT A DOUBLE DROPKICK THAT SENDS BLADEWOLF OVER THE TOP ROPE AND OUT TO THE FLOOR!
"The Hardys!" Cole exclaimed. "What a double team! Sending the Bladewolf out of the ring!"
Lita lifts Trish up and hits a sideslam before she climbs to the second turnbuckle then jumps off... AND NAILS A LEG DROP ON TRISH!
"Oh!" Cole exclaimed. "Lita with a leg drop to Trish!"
Bladewolf reaches in and pulls Trish out, holding her close to his chest as they back up the ramp. Bladewolf scoops Trish up bridal style, glaring at the Hardys and Lita as they mouth off to him.
"It's going to be a fight when King of the Ring comes around, King." Cole said. "This rivalry is just heating up!"
