I do, princess. I do.

Those were the last words he said before she kissed him. It was a small, practically chaste kiss, but it was all he needed. She pulled away to look at him, those glassy eyes beautiful like stars in the night sky and he pulled her in closer to him and simply needed to devour her. The kiss had made him hungry for more, he simply couldn't stand it. She pressed forward eagerly, practically melting into his hands.

He got goosebumps everywhere as she opened her mouth to make the kiss more passionate. And they became more passionate. Her hands were feeling up his back and her mouth tasted like strawberry fluff someone had brought over. He thanked god for strawberry fluff. When she was out of oxygen, she pulled away for a brief moment and he moaned. He couldn't think straight. He couldn't even open his eyes for a moment, before she touched his cheek gently.

He opened his eyes and saw hers looking back at him. "We shouldn't be doing this," He said, remembering that he was her bodyguard. He was on the job for christ sake. She was basically his boss. He shouldn't be making out with the boss.

But she shook her head. "It's a little late for that now. So don't you start," She said in a stern voice. He looked back up to her with a smile. It was meant for that and it worked. But he still couldn't wrap his head around what was going on.

He liked her, that was always the case. He had never disliked her, but when did liking her become this? When she called him her knight? The tie thing? God, the tie thing. He remembered concentrating very hard to keep that proper. So it was before the tie thing. But he didn't exactly remember a time when he was sure that he had feelings for her. They were just there. It was like suddenly he was inhabited with a feeling beyond his control and that was not a good bodyguard.

"What are you thinking?" She asked.

"What we should do," He replied.

She smiled, "I have a few suggestions," She said as she slid over closer to him.

This girl was going to drive him crazy. He kept his distance and smiled at her. She was just trying to show him a good time and he was having an existential crisis about it. What kind of guy was he? He should just enjoy it. But she was special. He knew she was. If this was just a one and done thing, he didn't want it. He wanted it to be more.

"Princess, I am sure those are excellent ideas, but we need to keep collected heads right now," He said, taking a breath. By god, did he want to just give into her suggestions and feel her touch on him, but they had to be smart. This had to be real. And they had to keep up what was going on. Him bodyguarding. Her stepping into the spotlight. None of this would be easy if they just rushed into this. They had to be smart about things.

She pouted a little, but understood that he was taking this thing between them seriously. It was a serious matter and she loved that he wanted it to be the best that it could be. He didn't just want to rush into things. He wanted them to be a real couple.

They both stayed on the couch for awhile, the television droning in the background. They didn't say anything for the longest time, till she spoke up again. "I'm going to go to dean tomorrow, I think I want to start a new campaign for Christmas dinners. You're right. There are too many people going hungry right now. But we'll talk to Tom about it. And he'll get some people around here to help me."

"Are we going to talk to Tom about us?"

She shook her head and gave him another gentle kiss. "Not right now. He doesn't need to know. No one does if you don't want to."

He thought about it for a couple of minutes. He didn't want anyone to know yet. Not because he was ashamed of what they were doing, but because they deserved some privacy to figure it out too. They deserved what normal people would get. Sure, they weren't exactly a normal couple but they still deserved that normalcy.

"Let's wait," He said. "At Christmas, we'll tell him."

"Christmas?" She asked.

He nodded. "Well, yeah, we're going up to the White House for Christmas right?" He asked. He assumed that was the plan anyway, that she would want to spend the holidays with her family, but he guessed that he didn't exactly know.

She hadn't thought at all that he would be there for Christmas. In fact, he deserved the time off for Christmas, but if he was her boyfriend and wanted to come home for Christmas with her, would that be different? "But free time…" She stuttered.

"...Is mine to think about," He answered her stutter. He didn't want her thinking that he was doing this out of some obligation. Being with her at Christmas, it's what he wanted to do. "I want to spend my time with you."

She blushed. God, he loved making her blush. He wondered how far the blush ran and shook that thought from his mind. He shouldn't be thinking like that right now if he wanted to keep his head cool.

She gently held his hand and smiled. "I'd like that too." She said, finally. And that's how they resolved that they would be up with her parents again, for a second holiday. And their first as a couple. "Once it gets out, we're going to be photographed like a lot." She told him. "Are you going to be okay with that?"

Right. He had finally told her that she should really put forth an effort to make herself part of the solution in the world. And that meant that she would get noticed. That meant that now his job would be a lot harder and their world would get a lot bigger. He nodded. "Yeah, I mean, as long as I'm with you," He said, "So we're doing this?"

"We're doing this."
