SCP#: AAT
Code Name: The Crites
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: The surviving instances that remained after the incident were quickly sent to Site-AG. SCP-AAT instances are contained within 20x20 meter pen with the only way in and out is through an opening at the celling where none of the Instances can reach. They are to be feed a single cow every day and are to have their population culled every week. Four 360-degree cameras are placed in the four corners of the containment cell to prevent any blind spots from existing that SCP-AAT instances can take advantage of. Hidden in the walls are laser turrets, utilized to cull the population of SCP-AAT instances within the containment cell. Should the power within the containment cell fail, a Kallivantium explosive underneath the containment cell will detonate ensuring that all SCP-AAT instances will die immediately and leave zero change of survivors.
Description: SCP-AAT is a species of aliens that are actually intelligent despite their appearance. They are on average they are anywhere between 18 to 24 centimeters in height, though they are small their teeth are strong enough to pierce through metal. SCP-AAT instances not only reproduce quickly but also grow quickly and their intelligence is surprisingly high on the point that they can speak to each other in their own language as if grown adults in a matter of hours after birth. SCP-AAT instances are able to roll into balls and therefore travel at 80 mph, they are also able to see everything around them despite their eyes being covered by their own bodies. SCP-AAT instances are quite fast when they roll but are quite slow when crawling up stairs, walls, or walking in general. SCP-AAT instances can make up for this by producing needles on their back that have a paralysis venom that can either weaken or completely knock out prey. However, when a SCP-AAT instance eats enough or has lived long enough it will start to grow to be either the same size or slightly bigger than humans. They are still able to roll into balls at this size but due to their walking speed improving they normally don't.
Due to their speed, ability to bite into almost anything, intelligence, ability to produce paralysis venom needle projectiles, and ability to breed quickly, SCP-AAT instances can easily be considered Apex predators. Thankfully they are not indestructible, in fact, it only takes simple firearms in order to kill a single instance. It is this aspect alone that makes it possible to contain SCP-AAT instances.
SCP-AAT was discovered in 1986 when Foundation staff noticed two ships entering earth's atmosphere. Both ships were intercepted by Mobile Task Force Apollo-1 "Orion's Belt" Division "Moon". The ships halted when they were surrounded by several RFDJ-5 "Vultures" and were intercepted by a LSFSB-29 "Sanctuary". The LSFSB-29, named the SCPSS: Space Eagle, had both ships enter the landing dock and Foundation security was quickly to enter. Inside the first ship was SCP-AAT instances. At first, they fought back and for a while held the landing dock hostage and were even able to devour several Foundation staff and security. However, thanks to the Alien Bounty Hunters on the other ship named Lee and Ug, the Foundation was able to take back the loading dock and cull the SCP-AAT instances until there were none left.
Thanks to the SCP-AAT intelligence it was able to understand the Foundation and agreed to be contained by the Foundation. Lee and Ug however were not please as they were hired to kill all SCP-AAS instances, and their employer would know if they failed. To get them to give up on SCP-AAT they were paid with [data expunged] which is a common currency used in the [data expunged] district of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is with pure luck that [data expunged] can easily be forged and mass produced with [data expunged] which the Foundation has plenty of. Because of their contribution Lee and Ug were offered positions within the Foundation as per directive under the "Sole Survivor" protocol, however both refused and instead took the [data expunged] as payment.
"It honestly sucks that they refused, shapeshifting aliens would be invaluable to the Foundation, no offence to our other alien staff. But either way I guess this is fine, though it does feel weird to not amnestize someone who refused the 'Sole Survivor' protocol, but they weren't on earth, and they were from the [data expunged] district, which everyone in that part of the milky way knows about the Foundation anyways, so they simply didn't apply to the common jurisdiction. Either way I'm just glad we managed to get SCP-AAT before it hit earth, there have been too many SCP's that have managed to slip past MTF Apollo-1." -Dr. Malik.
