Am I aware that Halloween doesn't fall on the 30th? YES. DO I CARE? NO. THE MUGGLES GOTTA CELEBRATE TOO!

3/4 for today!

Thursday, October 30, 1998

"Happy Halloween!" Jean shouted. "As this is the first year that Richard and I haven't dressed in a couples costume, it's quite a milestone. Now most of our parties have a costume contest, but seeing as we're the only attendees, we'll have to save that for next year."

Hermione and Narcissa walked around the room arm in arm. "Ah, my dear Ella," Richard said with a grin. "It's so kind of you to bring Marilyn along for the ride."

Hermione chuckled. Of course her dad would get their costumes, he was a bit of a history buff. "Frankenstein's monster, I presume?" she said with a laugh as Draco ambled up as the doctor. Draco's white coat was converted in dirt and a variety of other fluids. Richard had clearly gotten Draco to stretch the limits of Muggle costuming as each of his body parts had a very distinctly glamoured look to them.

"But of course," Richard replied, "although I'd never leave my family behind!"

Hermione and Draco blinked back tears, grinning when they saw the others' reactions. "You're such a sap, Draco Malfoy," she said, "at least I'm pregnant so I have an excuse for my hormonal reactions."

"Real men don't need excuses for feelings," Draco said, sticking out his tongue. Hermione and Narcissa laughed as they moved away from the two men.

Theo and Jean stood at the edge of the room. She was covered in vines and flowers, the bottom of her skirt looked like a pool of water, waves kicking up around her feet. Theo was dressed in a plain looking cloak, but when he opened it, there were hundreds of clocks all along the lining. Both of them had gone all out, charming their hair. Jean's was braided, each piece had a different colour woven in, a large sun crown on her head. Theo had a long grey beard and long bushy eyebrows practically covering his eyes.

"Mother Nature and Father Time!" Narcissa shouted, clapping her hands. "I've gotten one!"

Jean clapped and grinned at Narcissa, "Spot on!"

"I truly hope this isn't what you look like when we're old, Theodore, I'm not sure I could take it," Hermione teased.

"I am offended!" Theo grinned back at her. "I think I'm a rather handsome old man!"

Hermione rolled her eyes as she looked around the room.

"I don't get that one," Narcissa whispered, pointing to Remus and Regulus.

Hermione let out a loud cackle, gripping her stomach. She saw Remus' eyes crinkle as he let out his own bark of laughter. "I-It's, oh my," Hermione let out another peal of laughter. "Oh gods, did you make him listen to the song?" she finally got out.

"So. Many. Times," Regulus bit out. "It's awful!"

"Song?" Narcissa asked, even more confused.

"Ice, Ice, Baby," Harry said, laughing himself.

"Da da da dadadunda!" Hermione and Harry both shouted at the same time. Remus and Regulus were dressed as large ice cubes, Teddy was strapped on Regulus' chest wearing a normal onesie.

"I'm glad you went with my suggestion!" Harry said after they'd stopped laughing, "Dudley was absolutely obsessed with that song."

Andromeda smiled at Narcissa. Hermione gasped. "Princess Buttercup and Wesley?" she asked.

"Yes!" Andromeda said, gleefully, "It was one of my family's favourite films. Harry thought we could celebrate them with our costumes."

Hermione felt tears prick her eyes again, but before she could do anything, Narcissa was wrapping her sister in a tight hug.

Hermione felt like punching herself as the night wore on, this was exactly how she hoped all of her future Halloween's would be just like this, full of laughter and clever costumes and joy.
