The two physicians studied the knight bleeding out in front of them. Without warning the old man fell to his knees, closed his eyes and chanted, words

of the old religion filling the room as his hands glowed a gentle healing yellow. Hunith watched amazed as new muscle grew to hide the internal organs

exposed to the afternoon air. The process slowed then stopped as her brother slumped onto the floor drained as if he had ran across the castle.

" Gaius are you alright? That was magic! I don't understand how could you heal him and Emrys not?"

"That's a long story my dear ill inform you afterwards now, I repaired the internal damage but he still need surgery right away and I fear I am too drained

to complete it you must finish for me."

"What? Surgery? Are you mad? I've only been training for less then six months I don't know how!"

"Ah yes now I remember were Merlin got his personally, you both doubt yourselves with sarcastic panic, ill walk you through it I already did the hard

work all you have to do is finish now take a deep breath and go step by step what do you do first?"

********************************birth*****************************************

The warlock was more enraged then he had been in a long time. He knew that the no good sorcerer was responsible for the assassination attempt on

sir Leon but had no proof. He may be young but he was far from stupid and knew that Emrys would never love him over Leon she was too much like

Merlin for that to ever happen. To think a drunken confession was motive to do something so dishonorable… Gilli felt his magic gather in his hand

begging to be used, to vent his rage, he actually had to sit down and meditate releasing his magic into the ground, back into the weave while debating

his next course of action.

*********************************birth*************************************

The king who was now cleaned of blood watched as Emrys paced across his room her blood covered blue dress and tear stained face and messy hair

making her look half dead herself.

"Merlin stop pacing your making me dizzy Gaius will send word when he is done that wound was deep it may be hours before we hear anything so sit

down please. You are still a mess, go into Gwen's wardrobe and get changed into something not covered in dirt and blood and ill get dinner brought up

and you can vent after we eat."

Emrys stopped short as the word please from Arthur caught her off guard and for the first time looked down at herself and cringed, as much as she

hated to admit it the prat was right she looked like hell and surgery took hours. With a sigh she stomped over to the wardrobe and grabbed the simplest

dress she could find and with one whispered word and a flash of gold it reshaped to be a perfect fit she would buy the queen a replacement later. It

wasn't until she was behind the dressing screen that she allowed herself to calm down and breath.

Closing the door after arranging for food Arthur sat at his table and allowed his thoughts to process the swishing of fabric in the background providing

cover sound. First the wave of magic in the marketplace while taking to the druid woman was similar to what he feels whenever he is shielded nothing

wrong there but on a much grander scale. Now actually witnessing the assassin exploding with nothing more than a wave of a hand that was

something that would forever be burned into his brain. Said brain was now replaying the moment in slow motion on the inside of his eyes. He could see

the man holding the knife dripping with Leons blood, the smile on his face as he completed his task, the fear that washed it away when they appeared,

the wide eyes as he felt every cell in his body expand, the way he appeared to inflate his body shape expanding to twice it size, then the explosion of

red and brown remains raining down around them but not a drop staining their clothing. In that moment he knew Emrys was so far beyond him in

everyway and he was a fool to ever think he could own or control such power. The king knew Emrys was on lone from the goddess and he would be

losing his best friend again in the future not to death this time but to magic itself and he will have to let her go.

" How in the bloody hell does Gwen dress in the morning? Good god this thing is more complicated and has more straps and things then you armor."

"Well that why she has a maid but she also has practice being a maid herself since she was 11 come out here and I will lace it up for you."

Arthur was once again stunned by Emrys in a dress how did everything she manage to put on look so attractive. The dress was purple being Gwen's

favourite the low cut neck that his wife loved looked lower on his court mage not that he looked. He motioned her to turn around so he could tie the

ribbons in the back, closing the dress properly while silently agreeing on how complex this really was. Without even asking he pulled out the leather

strap of her hair and grabbed his wife's brush running it over the tangles of purple-black until it became silky and smooth once more. He felt a pang in

his heart for Morgana remembering a time when they were children and his little sister ran crying into his room scared by a nightmare and he spent all

night brushing her dark brown hair until she fell asleep. He paused in his brushing, a sister! that is what Emrys was to him. Merlin was his best friend

but Emrys was his big sister! A knock on the door and George entered , a single eyebrow lifted at the sight of his king brushing the court mages hair he

placed the food on the table and left the room.

******************************birth************************************

Gwaine and Gwen arm in arm walked slowly into the castle like they we on an afternoon stroll when really the queen was taking them someplace

private to talk. Emrys frightened her severely by blowing up the assassin. The power she has! How can they trust something so powerful! She needed

to talk to someone but knowing her husband was right now with Emrys and trusted the woman completely she settled with Gwaine. Reaching king

Uthers old room she opened the door and pushed the knight in and slammed the door behind them no one would ever look for them here.

"Okay I must say if your looking for a hiding place you picked a good one my lady I take it this has to do with princess carting sir lucky to Gaius and the

tall handsome villager escorting you to me, you look like you've seen a ghost here sit down and tell me what you need."

" Gwaine what we discuss now does not leave this room. Its Emrys I don't think we can trust her she has Arthur under her thumb and the power she

holds is truly frightening she is too dangerous."

"Whoa now Gwen calm down tell me what happened I thought you liked Emrys why the change?"

"Today…you didn't see her today. Leon was stabbed by an assassin and Emrys saw it I can't explain clearly what happened next. The air around us

stilled and I felt smothered by this heavy weight pressing down on me like a wet blanket and then with a simple wave of her hand the assassin just

exploded in a fountain of blood. A wave of a hand Gwaine! No one should be able to have that power no one!"

"My lady you have to calm yourself you don't have to be scared of Emrys she is on our side. She will never harm us she's Merlin's sister remember."

"That too Emrys is just like Merlin she is controlling Arthur and that frightens me as both his wife and queen. Ever since she showed up it like I've

become irrelevant she is making new laws and drafting treaties with Arthur, signing paperwork and advising him on running the kingdom things I

should be doing as queen not her, I feel like I'm just there to warm his bed now that she's here."

"Now that's not true you're a wonderful queen the people love you and so does Arthur. So what, she is doing the paperwork that leaves you more time

to help the people you don't see Emrys walking the lower town helping the poor or talking to the families or teaching children to read do you? No that's

all you let Emrys deal with stuffy stuck up nobleman and dusty paperwork and boring council members, which you avoid doing anyway and focus on

what you love, what your good at, helping people. As for controlling Arthur from what I see its more brother sister then anything else and when push

comes to shove she submits to his authority. Now the power do you remember the stories she as told us? she is a demigod not fully mortal your right

no person should be that powerful but she is not fully a person is she."

******************************birth*******************************************

Hunith washed her hands in what was left of the clean water the setting sun causing the room to be cast in an orange glow highlighting the freshly lit

candles and fireplace as the shadows danced around the room and the blanket covered figure still deeply drugged on the surgical cot. After Gaius used

his magic on the wound he guided her through the placement of the leaches, the repeated flushing of the wound, the 60 individual stitches 40 of them

internal pulling the abdominal muscles closed and 20 more smothered in honey closing the lips of the wound. She was tired but there was more to be

done. She still had to cut 2 of her stiches to keep flushing the wound every eight hours as well as making more herbs to place over the stitches as well

as keeping the man sedated until he healed but for the most part Leon would make it as long as nothing else happened she knew she would send for

her child but first she needed answers.
