Alison's Point of View
"What was that?!" Vanitas shouted as he approached me furiously.
"Go back without me," I tried.
"No way, you're not! What do you think Xehanort will do to me when he finds out I just left you here, huh?!" Vanitas screamed.
"I'm not going to be alone. A friend is coming," I stated.
"What friend? Those guys are with Sora! They're not your friends! We're going home now," Vanitas demanded. He tried to grab my wrist, but I stepped out of his reach. "Not funny. You can't go back now! You're such an idiot! You think they'll just let you go back? What happened to erasing your memories?! You think they won't? Guess again. You can't wait for help."
"No, stop!" I demanded, covering my ears. I didn't want to hear it. I wanted to believe that Mr. Zexy wouldn't let anyone take my memory, but doubt was already seeping in.
"Why? Because it's the truth? Give me a break," Vanitas scoffed.
I ran away from Vanitas as fast as I could.
"Alison, get back here! You're going to die on your own!" Vanitas called.
I didn't even care. The only person I could trust was myself, and I hated it. I ran until Vanitas was out of sight, and I was completely lost before breaking down and crying. I sat there for hours, not knowing what to do. I heard someone calling my name in the distance. It was faint, but as I strained to listen, I could hear who was calling me. It was Ienzo. I opened my mouth to call back to him, but I heard another voice much closer before I could.
"I finally found you." I turned to face Xigbar. "You were pretty difficult to track down. Come on, let's get you home." I hesitated. "What? You want to stay here? Suit yourself, I guess."
I couldn't hear Ienzo anymore, and the possibility of him giving up filled my mind. "No, wait. I'm coming."
"Thought so," Xigbar chuckled. He put his arm around my shoulder and took me home through a dark corridor. We exited right in front of Dad's office, where Vanitas also stood. "You better get in there. He's been waiting," Xigbar commented before teleporting away.
"Alison, what you did was foolish and could have cost you your life. You have no idea what the consequences could have been, running off like that. Be thankful that Xigbar found you. Otherwise, you could have been lost for decades had the Heartless not gotten to you first," My father stated.
"What an idiot," Vanitas mumbled.
My father's attention turned toward Vanitas. "And you! You should have been capable of stopping her. Surely someone with a lot less experience than yourself can't possibly have gotten that far away from you!"
"It's not like I was going to chase her down and force her to come back," Vanitas scoffed.
"Perhaps you should have!" My father exclaimed. I held my breath as he closed his eyes in thought until he finally opened his eyes and spoke. "You both are confined to the castle for seven days. Perhaps that will give you some time to think about your actions."
I exhaled. It was a milder punishment than I expected.
"Whatever," Vanitas grumbled, though it looked as though he was relieved based on how his posture relaxed.
"Well, that's that. It looks like we're stuck in this castle for a whole week," Vanitas remarked.
"Looks that way," I replied, stepping around him and heading back to my room.
Saix was waiting in front of my door. "I'm disappointed. I thought you were smarter than that."
"I'm sorry, okay? I don't know who to trust anymore," I shuddered.
"Don't trust anyone. You're the only person you can depend on, meaning you have to be smart about your decisions. Do you understand?"
I didn't reply. I couldn't even look at him. Finally, I gave a small nod.
Saix brushed my hair out from in front of my face and tucked it behind my ear. "Good girl. And try not to give Vanitas a hard time. He's on our side as well."
My eyes snapped up to meet his. "You didn't tell me that!" I exclaimed.
"Vanitas was going to, but then you ran off," Saix replied.
"I-" I couldn't think of any excuse to make.
"Get some rest. The Realm of Darkness takes a toll on the mind and body," Saix advised before walking away.
There you have it. I hope you enjoyed. I'm thinking about doing a Vanitas chapter next and then going back and doing an extra Alison. Normally, I do a Brittany, then Alison, then Molly, but a friend of mine who isn't on fanfiction is talking constantly about more Alison chapters. What do you think I should do? Also, thank you to F/anFictionReader225 and unicron1000 for your reviews. They are always very helpful and encourage me to keep going.
1/15/2023: This chapter has been edited. I rewrote the whole chapter, but most of what happened is the same as its original.
