Brittany's Point of View

That night, we went to the kitchen to make the love potion.

"Okay! It says that we still need one tear and I never cry." Mal announced. I rolled my eyes. I'm sure she cries sometimes.

"Let's just chop up some onions." Carlos suggested. "No! It says that we need one tear of human sadness, and this love potion gets the best reviews so, we have to follow it exactly." Mal insisted. "A tear's a tear." Jay groaned. "That's not true Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes but, an emotional tear has more protein based hormones than a reflex tear." Evie explained. "Listen to you." Mal smirked. "You're really smart." I complimented. "Yeah... I... knew that." Jay said. "You did not." Carlos retorted. "Yeah I did." Jay shot back. Lonnie came into the room.

"There you are Mal. I was looking for you. You know, all the girls want you to do their hair." Lonnie mentioned. Mal laughed nervously. Lonnie noticed our potion.

"Midnight snack, huh? What are you guys making?" She wondered. "Nothing special, just cookies." Mal replied. We all tried to stop Lonnie as she scooped up a little bit of the dough and ate it, but it was no use.

"What? I'm not going to double dip." Lonnie assured us. "Do you feel... anything?" Evie wondered. "Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?" Mal questioned. Jay walked up to her, smoothing his already perfect hair into place.

"Hey there." He said. I think I might faint.

'Oh I'll make you faint all right.' Come on Shadow! Lighten up! 'I will as soon as you get your head out of the clouds!

Lonnie stared at him as though he were a crazy. I don't think it works without the tear.

"Could use some chips." Lonnie shrugged. "Chips?" Jay asked. "And those are?" Mal huffed. Is she for real?

"Chocolate chips. Just the most important food group." Lonnie replied. "Amen to that." I agreed. Lonnie set down a small bowl with chocolate chips inside. I snagged a few.

"Wait. Didn't your moms ever make you guys like chocolate chips cookies? Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven with a big old glass of milk and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and-" Lonnie stopped when she saw the look on everyone's faces. Don't tell me. They never...

"Why are you all looking at me like that?" Lonnie asked. "It's just different where we're from." Mal sighed. "Yeah, I know. I just... You know I thought, even villians love their kids." Lonnie laughed. The villian kids looked heartbroken.

"Oh. How awful." Lonnie said, putting her hand on Mal's. Mom would know what to do. Not Yuffie. She'd be helpless. But Kairi, she would know exactly how to help them. I wonder what she's doing a tear fell from Lonnie's face. Mal scooped it up and shook it into the bowl.

"Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven, so thank you so much for coming by, really really have a great night, see you tomorrow. Evil dreams." Mal said, shoving Lonnie out of the room. "Good night." Lonnie smiled, leaving. "See you tomorrow." Mal sang. Mal turned back to the rest of us.

"Okay, boys cookie sheet, Evie, oven, Brittany, when the boys have the cookie sheet, form the dough into balls. Let's finish those cookies." Mal ordered. "Yes ma'am." Evie sighed. "On it!" I shouted. We got the cookies in the oven. "I'll be right back." I announced. I walked outside the door and closed it behind me, although I didn't go any further. Instead, I pulled out my phone and called Sora's cell phone.

"Hello." He said. "Hi, Dad. It's Brittany." I greeted. "Fairy Godmother called earlier. She told me that you were pulling pranks." He mentioned. "Dad, listen. I'm so sorry. I was-" I started. "I also talked to Ben, and he said it was because your friends were being bullied. Now, I don't want something like that to happen again, but from what I heard, it was harmless, so I'm not mad. In fact, if Kairi wouldn't smack the living daylights out of me for encouraging it, I'd be proud of you." He interrupted. "Thanks Dad." I smiled. "Just remember, you better not start a fight, but if someone else does something physical, I want you to end it." He reminded me. "Will do." I assured him. "Okay, your mom wants to talk to you." He explained. I could hear the phone being exchanged from one person to another.

"Young lady, what on Earth were you thinking?! No! You're not even on Earth for crying out loud!" Kairi exclaimed. "Mom, I love you so much. I miss you." I said, despite the anger directed to me. "Brittany, is everything okay honey?" She asked, instantly going into concerned mom mode. "Everything's fine. I'm just... really lucky to have parents like you and Sora. I'm lucky to have parents that love me. It's really sad how some parents don't even love their own kids." I sobbed. By now, I was in tears.

"I see. Is this about your new friends from the Isle?" She wondered. "Yeah. They didn't live a normal life like I did. They don't even know what chocolate chips are." I cried. "That's why their here now. Because here, they can have the help they need." Mom assured me. "Thanks Mom." I sniffed. "I'm giving the phone to Molly now." She announced. "Hi Brittany. Guess what?! Mommy and Daddy are here with me!" She squealed. "That's awesome! Enjoy it while you can. Are you doing well with your training?" I questioned. "Well, Terra's in the hospital right now, but when I do have training, it's so boring." Molly groaned. I giggled.

"Well, I probably should get going, so goodnight. I'll see if I can talk to you tomorrow." I smiled. "Kay. Bye bye." Molly said, hanging up. I went back in the room. "Hey guys? Why did we make more than one?" Carlos asked. Silence followed.

"We'll just have to get rid of them." Mal decided. The timer went off and I took the cookies out of the oven. Max came into the room.

"Hey guys, smells good in here. Are those cookies?" He asked grabbing one. We tried to stop him, but he took a bite. Mal shoved me at Max. I glared at her then looked back at Max.

"Brittany, have I ever mentioned that your eyes look really nice?" Max asked. At that moment, extreme fury came into my body.

"MAL!" I shrieked. At that moment, somehow I just knew that my scream scared the birds away. Mal threw her spell book at me. I caught it.

"You can look for a counter spell. I'm going to bed. Have fun." Mal taunted. "Later Brit. Have fun with your new boyfriend." Jay teased. "Mal, wait!" Evie shrieked, following Mal. Pete and Carlos stayed. I turned to them. Max was holding my hand now.

"Aren't you guys leaving too?" I sighed. That's how the VKs tend to work. Every man for himself. 'VKs?' Yeah. Why not? Everyone calls them that. 'Well that's rude. Perhaps I'll start calling you clumsy just because you are.' You're right, but VKs is so much easier to say. I don't think they would care what I call them anyway. Mal despises people no matter what.

"Well, Max is my- he's been really nice to me and I want to return the favor." PJ explained. "And besides, you're our friend Brittany. I, for one, think you're a really great person." Carlos smiled. My heart sped up. Why does my face feel hot? What is this feeling? Could it be? Nah. I'm just tired.

"Thanks guys. Maxie, would you mind releasing my hand, pretty please?" I pleaded. "Of course. Anything for you. Ah huck." Max laughed, letting go of my hand. I opened the book and started scrolling through. Carlos looked over my shoulder.

"There, stop!" He exclaimed. It was an anti love potion in the form of a recipe for a chocolate muffin.

"Let's do it." I smirked. "What are we gonna do about Max?" Carlos wondered. "Oh Maxie, won't you be a dear and help us make these muffins?" I asked in a singsong voice. "Anything for you Brittany." He giggled. We made the muffins.

"How are we going to get a tear for this one?" Carlos huffed. "Max, I hate you." I stated. Max shed a tear. I put it into the bowl. "Just kidding." I smiled. Max sighed in relief. As I waited for them to bake, Max clung to my arm. The timer went off, indicating that they were done. PJ took the muffins out of the oven. I grabbed one as soon as it cooled down enough.

"Here Max. Won't you have the first bite?" I asked. "Ah-huck." He giggled. He took the muffin and took a bite. His face slowly became confused. The muffin dropped from his hand. I resisted the urge to pick it up.

"What happened? I was... Oh my gosh! Brittany I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me. What was in that cookie?" He gasped. "Max, I'm so sorry. We tried to stop you from eating it. It was actually a love potion disguised as cookies. We thought it would be a cool science experiment, and we were planning to make the anti love potion afterwards." I apologized. "Brittany, now might be a good time for a spell." Carlos suggested. Oh right. I can probably make it work too because I am Maleficent's granddaughter. I opened the book and found what I needed.

"Without memory of of this night, you'll have sweet dreams without a fright." I read aloud. Max fell to the ground.

"Now we gotta get him to his room." Carlos groaned. "I'll do that. See you back at the dorm Carlos." PJ offered, picking Max up and leaving. "I suppose we should clean up." I sighed. "Hey, since the muffins are an anti love potion, we can actually eat these!" Carlos realized. I grabbed a muffin and took a bite.

"These are good. Let's not share any with the slackers. You should take one to PJ though. He helped out too." I smiled. "Yeah. I'll give one to him. This was actually... kind of fun." Carlos mentioned. "Oh yeah? Well next time we can make some real chocolate chip cookies. If you'd like to make them with me of course." Why is my heart beating faster again? This doesn't make any sense.

"Definitely. We can see if we can fit it in before my mom and the other villians take over the world." Carlos decided. "Yeah... Hey, what do you think about your parents taking over Auradon? You can be honest with me. I won't tell." I assured him. "Actually, to be honest, I don't think it's going to turn out well. I just don't want to disobey my mother. You have no idea what she's like. If I don't do this, I'm in so much trouble." He sighed. "Well, if you were to not go through with this, I could always protect you." I mentioned. What am I saying? I need to think before I speak.

"Yeah, I'll think about it. Want me to walk you to your dorm?" He offered. "Yeah, that would be really nice." I replied. We cleaned up and then he walked me back to my dorm.
