A/N: Figured I'd keep my own Spookfest tradition going.
"This is delta team." Beca called into her earpeace. "We're in position." She shifted uncomfortably and turned to her partner to complain. "You know I'm really starting to miss our body armor."
"Kevlar isn't exactly nightclub attire Becs." Chloe danced around her girlfriend, sliding a finger down the cut of Beca's dress and enjoying the way it made her shiver. "Besides, you look sexy in this dress." Chloe leaned in closer to whisper in Beca's ear. "But I bet you'd look better out of it."
"Chloe. Beca. Could you two please keep it professional while we're in the field?" Aubrey's voice sounded even more annoyed through the earpiece. "We all need to keep a clear head. We don't know what we're dealing with."
Beca looked up to see Aubrey glaring down at them from the nightclub's balcony. "We don't know what kind of monster is hiding here. All we know is that several women have disappeared only to show up again several days later, acting strangely and erratically. Intel's best guest is that we're dealing with either an incubus or worse, it could be a vampire."
That was a sobering thought. During training Beca had studied vampires, they were capable of wiping out entire squads without breaking a sweat.
"It appears the targets of these kidnappings are young and attractive women." Stacie chimed in. "Which begs the question as to why I got stuck in the van with Amy."
Aubrey sighed over the coms. "Given your predilection for...extracurriculars, we thought it would safest for you to stay in reserve."
"Gee Aubrey," Stacie was clearly holding back laughter. "Talk dirty to me why don't you."
"Yeah legs, you obviously don't have nearly as much self control as the rest of us."
"Amy, last week we had to pull you out of a bar fight that you started." Stacie shot back.
"Enough." Aubrey rubbed her temple and tried to remain calm. "Flo? CR? Anything?"
"Nothing cap." Those two where in charge of watching the bar, just in case the drinks were being spiked. Strange how that would be considered a 'normal' solution to the problem.
"I might have something." Lilly's voice was hard to hear even over the ear pieces. "There's a janitor closet next to the restrooms a rather larger guard in front of it."
"Has anyone gone in or out?" Aubrey asked.
"No," Lilly was quiet for a second. "Wait. There's a man escorting a woman down the hall. They're heading towards the door. Should I intervene?"
"Hold position. Wait for Chloe and Beca to get there." The pair nodded up to Aubrey and headed for hallway that held the restrooms.
Sure enough, there was a guy wearing a bouncer shirt standing at the end of the hallway. He was at least six and a half feet tall and with enough muscles to make them stop in their steps.
"And here I thought we already killed Bigfoot." Beca joked. "What's the plan here Beale?"
Before Chloe could answer the guard twitched and fell to the ground, revealing Lilly. "I guess she's got it. Aubrey we're heading in."
"Alright. Just be careful."
Chloe took the lead with Beca and Lilly right behind her. The janitor closet was anything but, it was actually an elevator with a simple up and down button. Chloe relayed what was happening before they climbed aboard. Beca pushed the button and they descended into the unknown.
"Oh dear God." Beca groaned. "Is that In-A-Gadda-Devita?"
"It's elevator music Becs." Chloe didn't sound pleased either. "It's supposed to be weird." The elevator made a pleasant dinging noise and the door opened. "Weapons ready."
Beca and Chloe both lifted up their dresses to pull pistols from their thigh holsters. Lilly, who had the benefit of being in full gear, drew a three foot blade from her belt. They stepped out of the elevator into a long white hallway.
"These walls are disturbingly smooth." Beca noted. "How are we supposed to find anything down here?"
"Lilly did you bring your inferred goggles?" Chloe asked.
Lilly nodded and pulled out a pair of specs. She put them on and looked down the hallway. "There's a room at the end of the hallway. And there's...something inside."
"Something?" Beca asked. "Can you be a little more specific?"
"Look for yourself." Lilly handed over the goggles which Beca put on.
"Huh. Okay...I have no idea what that is." Beca handed the goggles to Chloe who also took a look.
"Only one way to find out." Chloe walked to the end of the hall and placed her hand on the smooth surface. The wall suddenly disappeared with a *whoosh*. "What the Hell?"
In front of them was an absolutely massive room, at least the size of a soccer stadium if not bigger. Scattered throughout the room where clusters of pods. Icky, gooey, slimy pods the color of phlegm.
"Look there." Lilly pointed into the distance where they could just barely see someone being covered in the slim. "That's the woman I saw taken earlier."
"We need to get closer." Beca took a step forward to get a better look at one of the pods. "Guys. You need to see this."
Inside the pod was a half formed human body. In the pod right next to it was a naked woman.
"Oh God," Chloe whispered. "There clones. They're cloning us."
"That's why the women came back wrong." Lilly mumbled. "They were probably incomplete or defective."
"What are we supposed to do now?" Beca asked.
"We'll need back up." Chloe said. "We're too far underground to get a signal to Aubrey. We need to get back to the elevator."
As soon as she said it something lumbered out from behind a cluster of pods. It was at least seven feet tall, the same color as the the pods and had three pairs of legs.
"Run!" Chloe yelled. Beca and Lilly didn't need to be told twice. All three ran for the exit but the thing behind them was a lot faster than it looked. Lilly stopped and went after it with her sword, slicing it's front legs clean in two. The creature did slow down, just a little, but the legs started to grow back as soon as they were gone.
Chloe and Beca open fired but the creature didn't even seem to care, just absorbing the bullets. The girls shared a look before sprinting for the door. Surprisingly they managed to make it. The elevator was still open and for a second they believed they might escape.
"SHIT!" Beca fell to the ground as something wrapped around her ankle. The creature made a strange noise that might have been laughter.
"Beca!" Chloe stopped and fired her pistol but once again the bullets just sank into the creature's body. Luckily, Lilly was much faster on the uptake than her friend. She pulled a nitrogen grenade from her belt and pulled the pin. Using careful aim, Lilly threw the grenade at just the right time so it exploded over the monster's head, just high enough to avoid hurting Beca.
Lilly's aim was true and the top of the monster was frozen in an instant.
Chloe dashed forward while pulling a knife that was hidden in her dress. She cut Beca loose and they both made it to the elevator where Lilly was waiting. They didn't waste any time pushing the button and shutting the doors. Just in time too, as the monster broke free of the ice and bellowed in anger. It charged the elevator and slammed into the doors just as the closed.
The three women breathed a collective sigh of relief as the elevator started moving.
"Aubrey?" Chloe tried out her coms but got nothing. "As soon as we're high enough we have to call for back up. It's going to take a lot more than our team to clear this place out."
"What was that back there?" Beca asked. "That thing was definitely not in the manual."
Lilly whistled the X-files theme.
Beca glanced at Chloe. "Is that her way of saying it's an alien?"
"If it is then we'll have to make some calls." Chloe leaned against the cold wall of the elevator. "Our job is supernatural. Not extraterrestrial."
It took a second for Beca to process. "Wait. Does that mean there is a team that deals with martians?"
"No," Lilly whispered. "Martians are friendly."
The elevator dinged and the girls walked off. But as soon as they made it out of the janitor's closet the metal groaned and the creature shoved its way through the door.
"Aubrey!" Chloe shouted through the radio. "Evacuate the building!"
Less than a second later the fire alarm went off. They could hear the chaos from the dance floor but at the moment they had more pressing matters.
"What's the plan?" Beca asked as she dodged out of the way.
"Out the back door." Chloe gestured to the emergency exit behind them. "If we can get it outside Amy and Stacie can hit it with the big guns on the van."
Through some impressive teamwork and coordination the three women managed to slip out of the building and into the back alley. The creature took the bait and followed them, and managed to get a face full of liquid nitrogen. It staggered around the alley while Lilly tried to keep it busy, Beca and Chloe were defiantly not equipped to deal with this.
Luckily they wouldn't need to. The alley was flooded with the headlights of their tactical assault vehicle and Beca got a glimpse of the crazy look in Amy's eye as she rammed the creature at full speed. It exploded in piles of goo, which started to slide back together.
"I don't think so." Stacie hopped out of the back of the van with one of their combat flame throwers. She let loose on the piles of goo, which shriveled up and turned to ash.
"Good job Stacie." Chloe said before holstering her weapon.
Stacie held up the hose and smiled. "Always knew I was hot."
The other girls groaned just in time for Aubrey and the rest of the team to join them.
"Good work ladies." Aubrey said. "I've already called for backup. We'll get a clean up crew working on the scene as soon as possible. M.I.B will take care of the rest."
Beca leaned in to whisper to Chloe. "Did she just say M.I.B?"
"Don't worry about it." Chloe sighed as the group started packing up their gear. "Let's just get you home and out of that dress."
"Really?" Beca laughed. "You're still on that?"
"Not yet, but I will be."
