Alison's Point of View

We landed in Radiant Gardens. "I'll see you later, Aly. Braig said he would make sure you get to Family Day at Brittany's school. I love you," Sora said.

"Love you too. Bye," I replied.

"Let's go. I called my wife, and she made arrangements for you to stay with us until your dad can take care of you again," Braig mentioned.

My eyes went wide. "Did you say, wife?" I gasped.

"Yeah. I have a wife and kids. Don't look so surprised," Braig scoffed. I followed him off the ship and beyond to just past the outskirts of town.

We stopped at a small cottage. A little girl with black hair in pigtails and brown eyes around Molly's age ran outside. "Daddy!" She exclaimed as she approached Xigbar.

"There's my duckling! I've missed you," Braig greeted.

A woman with long dark brown hair and burgundy eyes came out of the house. "Clarissa, come back inside! You-" She stopped when she noticed us. "Braig. I didn't expect you back so early."

"I told you I was coming," Braig commented as he approached the woman who I assumed to be his wife. "Where's Lucy?"

"She's in her room. She's very upset about having to share her space," Braig's wife explained.

"I'll talk to her," Braig decided.

"No. I have it handled," Braig's wife huffed. She turned to me and smiled. "You must be Alison. I'm Brianna Prism. It's nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, Ma'am. Thank you for letting me stay here," I thanked.

"Of course. Why don't you come inside," Mrs. Prism suggested. We all went into the house. It was small but cozy. "Lucy, our guest is here!"

"Whatever!" Lucy shouted from up the stairs. Braig began making his way up the stairs.

"Braig, I told you that I have this handled," Mrs. Prism reminded.

Braig turned to Brianna. "I am not okay with her attitude. You may allow it, but I don't," He stated before resuming up the stairs. I heard a door open and close.

"Would you like some tea, Alison? I just made some hot water," Mrs. Prism offered.

"I suppose so. Thank you," I replied.

I could hear bits and pieces of the conversation upstairs, but it mainly was muffled by the ceiling and walls. It didn't sound pleasant. Brianna came back with two cups of tea in her hands. She gave one cup to me and drank out of the other one. I sat down in a chair, and she sat down in another one. I looked around the room. There was a fireplace on the wall and a few chairs in the room, along with a small sofa. There was a china cabinet containing delicate dishes against the wall. One thing, in particular, caught my eye. There was a picture of Braig, Clarissa, and another girl about my age with wavy black hair and burgundy eyes on a small desk. Is that Lucy?" I asked, pointing at the picture.

"Yes. That was from the last time Braig was here. We reserve that frame for a photo from the most recent time Braig is home. He's not around often, so the girls tend to get excited when he's around. Or at least Clarissa does. Lucy hasn't been interested in her father for a while now," Brianna mentioned.

"Yeah. That sounds familiar. My father wasn't home much either," I mentioned. Lucy came down the stairs with her arms crossed, looking annoyed, followed by Braig. She glared at me as she went to the wall and leaned against it. "Um, hi." Lucy rolled her eyes at me.

"Lucille Prism!" Braig snapped.

"Hi, or whatever," Lucy scoffed.

"Lucy, could you take Alexus to your room so you can help her get settled in?" Mrs. Prism asked.

"Fine," Lucy groaned. She started walking up the stairs. "This way." I glanced back at Braig before following Lucy up the stairs and into a small bedroom with a bunk bed. "You'll be sleeping on the bottom."

"Fine with me," I stated.

"I don't actually care," Lucy huffed.

"Gee, you could have fooled me." My voice was dripping with sarcasm.

"Let's make one thing clear. I don't want you here. It's bad enough that my dad is gone all the time. Now he's bringing his work home with him, meaning you. My goal is to get you out of here as soon as possible. Any questions?" Lucy grumbled. She didn't even wait for me to respond. "I don't care anyway. I will be up in my bed, and you can do yourself a favor and stay out of my room until bedtime." Lucy climbed up the ladder to her bed.

'She's attempting to show that she's in charge of the room. We should fight her.'

'What?! No! I don't want to fight her! Let's leave her alone.'

'That would be a fatal mistake. If she thinks she won here, she'll continue to take this further. We need to put an end to it here and now.'

'I hopefully won't even be here for that long. I just want to get by peacefully. Besides, it's not easy having a parent that's always gone. I know that just as much as she does.'

'Whatever. When you need me to step in for you, I'm right here.'

'Thanks, but I won't.'

I started to go back downstairs, but I heard Braig and Mrs. Prism talking in hushed voices, and I couldn't resist listening to their conversation. "How long are you going to be back this time?" Mrs. Prism asked.

"After I take Alison to this Family Day event at that Auradon Prep school to see her sister, I won't have any business leaving you and the girls for a good while. Alison will still be here until that old coot has his side project wrapped up, but other than that, I don't expect to be working anytime soon," Braig explained.

"Braig, I've heard that story before," Mrs. Prism snapped.

"But this time, it's true. He doesn't have any use for me anymore. I held up my end of the bargain, so he'll hold up his. Then I can carry out the plans of my own," Braig replied.

"And when you carry out those plans?" Mrs. Prism inquired.

"Yeah. That's going to be a bit of a bummer. But you don't need to worry about it. They don't happen until that old man dies, which, so far, he's been too stubborn to do. Look, Bri, I'll figure this out," Braig tried.

"You had better. I can't do this anymore, Braig. Either you're here, or you're not," Mrs. Prism huffed.

"What are you saying, Bri?" Braig questioned. I didn't want to hear the answer to that question, so I loudly made my way down the stairs. Braig and Mrs. Prism turned to me. "Alison. Was Lucy okay for you? She didn't give you any trouble, did she?"

"No. Lucy was fine," I lied.

"Good. She's been giving us some problems lately. If she gives you any problems, let me know, and I'll take care of it," Braig mentioned.

"Right. Will do," I stated.

"Alison, would you mind telling Lucy to come downstairs to help me with dinner?" Mrs. Prism asked.

"Not at all," I answered before going back up the stairs and into Lucy's room.

"What are you doing? Get out," Lucy ordered.

"Your mom wants you to help with dinner," I explained.

"Fine," Lucy groaned as she got out of her bed and left the room. I stayed in the room so I could avoid her.

Samantha: I'm glad that you are still enjoying my work. Thank you for all of your support.

Honestly, I looked over this whole story, and it's a mess. I'll still work on editing the chapters to fix things, but I'm unsure if I can fix everything. I would rewrite this, but with Kingdom Hearts 3 out now, I would have to change everything entirely. I suppose, for now, I'll keep doing what I'm doing. So far, I have edited chapters 1-3.
