Alison's Point of View

Clarissa came to let me know when dinner was ready, and I went to join the Prism family. Braig was almost a completely different man with his family around. Lucy kept glaring at me. "When are you going back to work?" Clarissa wondered.

"I won't be for a long while, Duckling. I'm here to stay for now," Braig answered.

"I'll believe it when I see it," Lucy grumbled.

"Keep pushing it. See what happens," Braig scoffed.

I wished I was anywhere else at that moment, but all I could do was watch the dramatic scene play out. "May I be excused?" Lucy requested.

"No. You can leave the table when the rest of us are finished. You know the rules," Braig replied.

"I was talking to Mom," Lucy huffed.

Braig lost his temper and banged his fist on the table. "Just eat your food!"

Lucy's eyes went wide in shock, and Clarissa looked like she was about to cry. Mrs. Prism stood up. "I'm not hungry," She decided before leaving the room. I awkwardly continued eating my dinner. Clarissa seemed too frightened to move while Lucy just pushed her food around on her plate.

When Braig noticed that his daughters weren't eating, he got up from the table. "You're excused," He sighed before leaving the room.

"Why did you do that?" Clarissa shuddered.

"We don't need him. We've been getting along fine. Now he wants to call the shots after being gone for so long? I don't think so," Lucy sneered.

Clarissa ran out of the room crying. "That was a little harsh, don't you think? I have a little sister around her age, and-" I started.

"I don't care. This is all your dad's fault," Lucy interrupted as she started grabbing the dishes.

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"Your dad took mine away from us, even when we needed him. Well, it turns out that we didn't need him because I took care of my family," Lucy explained. She scraped the remaining food on the plates into the garbage and washed the dishes.

"Doesn't your mom do that?" I asked.

"My mom couldn't. She was sick," Lucy said.

I had meant the dishes, but what Lucy had said was much more interesting to me. "She was? Is she still sick?" I pressed.

"No. She's fine now. No thanks to my dad, or yours, or anything to do with you," Lucy growled.

"I didn't know he had a family until I got here," I mentioned.

"What does that change? Just stay away from me," Lucy snapped. I could tell that my conversation with Lucy was not productive, so I went back to the room. I could hear Braig and Mrs. Prism in the other room.

"Look, Bri, I'm sorry. I lost my temper," Braig apologized.

"She's hurt, Braig! If you would just let me handle it, we might be able to get past this!" Mrs. Prism shouted.

"Get past what, Bri? Your handling it isn't going to solve anything. She walks all over you, and you hardly notice," Braig stated.

"I only give her the space she is due. It was no small feat taking care of her sister and me while I was ill. You weren't there, Braig. We needed you, and you weren't there," Mrs. Prism sobbed.

"I know. I'm sorry," Braig replied. After that, all I could hear was Mrs. Prism crying.

I decided to call Sora. "Aly? What's up?" Sora wondered. I could hear a lot of clanging in the background.

"How long do I have to be here?" I groaned.

"Until Xehanort is finished. He had some personal things to take care of. After that, I don't know. Things are kind of crazy right now," Sora explained.

"Can't I stay with Molly?" I tried.

"Aly, look, I'm kind of busy right now. I shouldn't even be on the phone. I'm in the middle of taking care of some Heartless. Can we talk about this later?" Sora asked.

"Okay. I love you," I sighed.

"I love you, too. Be on your best behavior, okay?" Sora said.

"I will. Bye," I replied.
