Alison's Point of View
When we got back to the Prisms' house, Braig helped Lucy make dinner in the kitchen. I stayed in the living room to avoid any trouble with Lucy. Ienzo came into the room. "Hello, Ally. I haven't seen you in a good while. I'm sorry I couldn't talk earlier. I was quite busy," Ienzo greeted.
"My name is Alison. Where did you get it in your head that you can call me Ally?" I scoffed.
"I've always called you that," Ienzo commented.
"Always? What do you- Oh, sorry. I forgot," I apologized. He had been to Earth numerous times with Sora, but back then, I knew him as Ian Zexy. It was getting harder to keep track of who was who.
"No worries. I understand. I look a little different since I dropped my illusions," Ienzo replied.
"How is she?" I wondered.
"She's stable for now, but she's weak. The stress triggered a chain reaction in her body which resulted in-" Ienzo started.
"I asked how she is, not for some lengthy explanation that I won't even understand by the time you're finished," I interrupted.
"She's fine for now, but she needs her rest. Even and I are going to be keeping a close eye on her in case her condition worsens," Ienzo explained.
"Isn't there some sort of magic we can use?" I suggested.
"Not for this. I'm afraid there is no amount of magic here that can improve her condition other than ease some of the pain," Ienzo sighed.
"No, there's gotta be. What about other worlds? There's got to be a cure somewhere. There's a girl out there with magic hair that can heal anything until it's cut. If it hasn't been cut yet, we could bring her back here and have her heal Mrs. Prism. If not, there are probably millions of other ways. We could find a genie. Maybe there's another one in Agrabah or somewhere else. We could find something," I tried.
"We can't do that, Ally. There's the world order to think about," Ienzo refused.
"Forget that! Someone is dying!" I screamed.
I heard Lucy sobbing and Braig trying to comfort her. I didn't mean to be that loud. It just slipped out. Ienzo shook his head. "Alison, give it some time. I'll see what I can do," Ienzo stated.
"That's not good enough. There are solutions. How can messing with the world order not be worth it?" I huffed.
"Ienzo, come take a look at this!" Even called from the other room. He left, and I went upstairs to Lucy's room. Shortly after, Braig came up.
"Listen, I know what I said, but if you want to leave, you have to call your father and try to get him to let you stay somewhere else. I can't be the one to make that call because I made a deal with him," Braig said.
"What deal?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter. If you want to go somewhere, call him. Ienzo said that he would talk to the guys back at the castle if you were allowed to stay somewhere else. You freaking out isn't helping anyone, including the people who are trying to help my wife," Braig answered.
"Okay. I'll make the call," I agreed.
Braig left the room, and I called my father, Xehanort. "Alison? Is everything alright?" He inquired when he answered the phone.
"Maybe. Can I stay somewhere else? I really don't want to be here," I requested.
"What's wrong? Did Braig do something to you?" Dad demanded.
"No, nothing like that. His wife is sick, and I don't want to be here right now. Ienzo is over here taking care of her, and he said he might be able to have me stay at the castle in Radiant Gardens. Is that okay?" I checked.
"I suppose that would be fine, but I'll have Braig check in on you frequently. I'm a bit worried about you, Alison," Dad mentioned.
"I'm fine, Dad. You don't have to worry about me," I commented.
"I'm hoping to see you soon, but I'm not sure. Vanitas says hello," Dad added.
"Alright. Tell him I said hello back. I'll talk to you later," I replied.
"Take care of yourself, Alison. I'll be back as soon as I can," Dad promised. There was a pause. "Vanitas, how do I turn this blasted contraption off?"
I hung up the phone and went downstairs. Lucy looked like she was about to come upstairs but stopped when she saw me. "Hey, we're about to have dinner. Mr. Ienzo and Mr. Even are going to be eating with us. My mom is resting right now, so we can't be too loud," She warned.
"Thanks," I thanked.
"Hey, about what I said, I didn't mean it. I was really emotional. Sorry," Lucy apologized.
"No worries. I'm going to see if I can stay somewhere else," I assured her. She didn't look as happy about it as I thought she would be.
We sat down at the table. "Did you talk to your dad?" Braig questioned.
"Yeah," I stated.
"What did he say?" Braig pressed.
"I can stay at the castle so long as you check up on me," I explained.
"I'll get in touch with the others, but it shouldn't be a problem," Ienzo said. He seemed very comfortable around me, but I could see Even eyeing me cautiously.
"Are they going to hate me because of my dad?" I wondered.
"Of course not. Besides, I can vouch for you. There's nothing to worry about," Ienzo smiled.
"Why sugarcoat it? They are likely to have their reservations," Even brought up.
"Even, she's fine. I would stake my life on it," Ienzo shot back.
"That just goes to show how little you care about your life," Even remarked.
"May I be excused?" I asked Braig.
Braig hesitated. "Sure," He agreed. I went back up to Lucy's room.
Lucy came in a couple hours later. "So, you're going to stay at the castle with Ansem the Wise and his other two apprentices?" She sighed.
"Yeah. Looks that way," I confirmed.
"I'll come and visit you. When I can. It'll be good for me and Clarissa to get out of the house. I was mostly at home last time, but Mr. Ienzo and Mr. Even are a lot more concerned about my mom, so they'll be here a lot more than they were last time, and dad will be here, so they can take care of my mom while I'm gone," Lucy promised.
"Wait, why would you visit me?" I wondered.
Lucy shrugged. "I like you. I wasn't angry with you. I was angry with my dad and taking it out on you. Oh, and that thing I said earlier? Sorry. I didn't mean it. I was still in shock."
"That's understandable, I guess. I'm glad that Braig is here this time to help. It must have been really hard. My mother- well, not really my mother, but the person who raised me, her husband was gone a lot, too. I can't even imagine her getting sick with something serious," I replied.
"Yeah, well, it sucks. Just don't freak out so much around Clarissa, okay? She's rattled enough as it is. If she sees an older kid having a breakdown, she'll have even more reason for concern," Lucy warned.
"I get it. I'm sorry. I have a little sister, too. She's around Clarissa's age, actually. Maybe someday, she and Clarissa can play together," I suggested.
"I think Clarissa would like that," Lucy smiled. It was the first time I had seen her smile.
"Are you going to make things right with your dad?" I brought up.
"I'll have to. After all, if mom doesn't make it..." Lucy trailed off.
"She will. She has to," I stated
"If only it worked that way. By the way, you don't have to worry about being treated differently. Mr. Even was wary of Clarissa and me, too, at first. There was something between them and my dad. I don't know the details. Anyways, it has something to do with my dad's work, right? When I went to the castle, I was desperate. Mr. Ienzo convinced Even and the others to hear my case instead of turning me away, and when I explained what was happening to my mom, none of what they had against my father mattered. Mr. Even is always the harshest. Although on the flip side, Mr. Ienzo is always the most trusting. Mr. Dilan is a little scary sometimes, but he won't bother you if you don't bother him, and Mr. Aeleus wouldn't hurt a fly. They won't be mad at you for anything," Lucy assured me.
"I hope so. My dad did some pretty messed up things," I mentioned.
"My dad left his kids and wife to have some job that didn't pay well and didn't come home when his wife became deathly ill. How messed up are we talking here?" Lucy wondered.
"The kind of messed up that I don't want to talk about. I didn't even know he was my father until a little while ago," I grumbled.
"Okay, you win. Dads, am I right?" Lucy sighed.
"Tell me about it. I have no idea what my dad is doing now. I just hope it's the right thing," I commented.
"What about your mom? Where's she?" Lucy asked.
I felt sick. "My mother, if I can even call her that, is the worst. She's pure evil," I shuddered.
"And the person who raised you?" Lucy wondered.
"Kairi? She and her husband were at my brother's earlier. They were fighting over my brother's daughter, who I thought until recently was my sister," I explained.
"Whoa. That must be so weird. I thought you were some spoiled girl who got everything she wanted from her father. You know, because your dad is my dad's boss," Lucy said.
"Maybe I am a little spoiled, but not because of my father. I take a lot of things for granted. The person who raised me did a lot around the house, and when I saw how much you do, it was strange to me. My mom made food and did dishes and all that. I was lucky that she was always in good health," I admitted.
"You don't realize what you have until you lose it. That saying becomes more true every day, even when it comes to you. Don't get me wrong, it sucks having to share a room and cook for an extra person, but I think if I gave you a chance, we could have been friends," Lucy mused.
"Let's be friends then. You said you'll visit me, and I'll hold you to it," I decided, extending my hand. She took it, and we shook our hands.
"It's a promise," Lucy agreed.
Thank you, zack24, for favoriting and following.
I've edited through chapter 9 now. Working on it slowly but surely. Only 150 more chapters to go, give or take. I've been cringing hard at this, but I've been continuing for now. I do intend to give this fanfiction something of an ending eventually. I had never planned on an ending before, so it won't be easy, but I have an idea on how to end this. I'm still going to go a little while longer though. I want to come up with a new fanfiction idea before ending this one.
