Brittany's Point of View
I breathed in the Radiant Garden air and smiled. "I'm home."
Dad put his hand on my shoulder. "You are," He added. We went to Mom and Dad's house. "I'll show you where everything is." He showed me around the house, where everything was in the kitchen, the guest room I would be staying in, where his room was if I needed anything during the night, and the basement, which was little more than a place for storage, but what struck me the most was the nursery. It was a lot to process that it used to be my room. There was a toddler bed and plenty of toys that young Brittany played with. I felt pained that I was supposed to remember these toys and this room, but everything just came back blank. Still, I felt an attachment to my old belongings. I hoped that meant that the Brittany I used to be still existed.
I noticed something that shocked me. Amidst my toys, there was a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal. I took it in my hands. "What is this?" I wondered.
"That bear? Sometimes Sora or I would take you to this world inside a book where you would play with a bear named Pooh. You liked playing with Pooh so much that Merlin used some magic to make you a bear that looked like him," Dad explained.
"You mean... I got to play with Winnie the Pooh?" I gasped.
"Yeah. You wanted to see him a lot," Dad answered.
I didn't even know how to respond. I wondered if I remembered my time with Winnie the Pooh, which was why I had always been drawn to it. "I think... I think my subconscious was drawn to certain things from my time here. I've always been more drawn to things like Radiant Gardens and Winnie the Pooh. Dad, is there any way I can get those memories back?" I wondered.
"Namine might be able to help. She took up residence in the Twilight Town mansion. You can go there if you would like," Dad suggested.
"Well, sure, but I just got here. Let's stay a while before going out on another wild goose chase," I smiled.
"Sounds like a plan, Squirt," Dad agreed.
He ruffled my hair, and we went into the living room, where Mom was practicing her fighting skills. She had changed into her everyday clothes. That was when I realized I was still in my coronation dress and my other clothes were at the school. "I don't have a change of clothes with me. I didn't think about that," I brought up.
"That's okay. I think I have some old clothes that you can borrow. I'll go see if I can fish them out," Mom suggested. And with that, she went downstairs to look.
"I can head back to your dorm and get your clothes tomorrow, or if you want, you can get some new clothes. I'm sure Yuffie would love to take you shopping," Dad suggested.
"I'm not one for shopping. That was always Alison's thing. I do need some clothes, though, so I may as well," I decided.
Mom came back up with her Kingdom Hearts 1 top and shorts. My eyes widened. "I mean this as respectfully as possible. No," I stated.
"What's wrong?" Mom asked, completely oblivious.
"It's..." I trailed off, looking for the right words. The truth was, it was way too revealing for me. I never showed that much of my body in public. I felt my face turn red. I looked to Dad for help, but he also was looking at me expectantly. "I can't wear that. It's too revealing."
"It covers enough," Mom commented.
"I don't like to wear those sorts of clothes. Don't we have, like, anything else?" I pressed.
"You can get some new clothes tomorrow, or I can get your clothes from school, but I'm not doing it today. These are your options. Or you can just keep your dress on until then," Dad remarked.
My dress was way too stuffy to be walking around in. In the end, I relented and accepted Mom's old clothes and went into my room to put them on. Once I had done so, I knew I had made a mistake. I didn't want to step outside my bedroom, much less go shopping the next day. "Do either of you have a jacket I can borrow?!"
"I have some vests. Does that help?" Dad asked.
"Yes! Yes!" I cheered excitedly.
"Can I come in?" Dad asked a few minutes later.
"Just leave it outside the door," I requested.
"Okay," He agreed. I heard his footsteps walk away, and I grabbed the vest. It wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be yellow and white like in Kingdom hearts 2, but instead, it was black with yellow stripes on the sleeves with a black and white checkered pattern at the bottom. I had hoped for something more authentic to the video games, but I wasn't complaining. I had more coverage, and I was grateful. After zipping up the vest, I joined my parents. "Better?"
"Yeah. Thanks," I replied.
"So, the sun's going down, but we still have a few hours left in the day. What do you want to do? Anything you want," Dad offered.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do. "Can I see Winnie the Pooh?"
"Eh, maybe not that. Let's not bother Merlin just yet. We can do that tomorrow after you get back from shopping. We could play some games. Kairi had the foresight to give us games from your world like UNO and Sorry. I don't know how to play, but I'm guessing you probably do," Dad suggested.
"Sounds like a good plan B," I agreed. I started the task of explaining UNO to my parents, and we started playing.
